Compatible Water Filter for MWF, GWF, GWFA, GWF01, GWF06, MWFA, HWFA, HWF, 469991, 46-9991 made by EcoAquaThis EcoAqua "generic brand" was just as easy to install as the factory GE filter replacement, which retails for around $50.00. The water quality and functionality of the system is identical to the factory brand. I'm pleased to have the same filtration for half the price, thank you!

When the old filter was bad I noticed the ice was getting cloudy after about only a week. The cubes are not clear now, but are getting there

Frigidaire FFU17F5HW 16.7 Cu. Ft. Upright Freezer - WhiteFrigidaire FFU17F5H 1

Frigidaire FFU17F5HW 16.7 Cu. Ft. Upright Freezer - White
  • 16.7 cu. ft. upright freezer
  • Adjustable temperature control from -10 to 10F
  • Frost-Free operation removes the need for defrosting
  • Bright interior lighting makes it easy to find stored items
  • 2 adjustable SpaceWise shelf bookends

This freezer I bought May 2013 is very noisy running and runs almost constantly, its the circulating fan that makes the running noise and its very loud, the compressor is quiet. It maintains temp, fairly good going from 0.2degrees to 6.5 degree,3/4 full. The 11 yr. old manual GE(made by Frigidaire)just stopped freezing, but was quiet as a mouse. Freezers would last almost a lifetime, according to the reviews and my own experience of 11 yrs is very poor quality. Frigidaire seems to be the generic brand for many company's,look at the model number on the inside and you'll see the exact Frigidaire model number under the brands logo.

I purchased this freezer because my older Frigidaire freezer, which I was happy with, was damaged in Hurricane Sandy. The freezer has some great features and improvements over the previous model -frost free, interior light, useful wire drawer on bottom -however, the amount of noise it generates negates every good thing about it. This thing runs so loud, you can hear it in adjoining rooms and floors above even though I have this in a closet. I also agree with the comment about the door shelves -they are flimsy.

I bought this 17 cu ft freezer and it didn't work properly out of the box. The freezer wouldn't freeze and the control panel started shorting out. I had to make a warranty claim within the first day of owning this freezer. The repairman put a new control panel in and that did the trick. I read online that this is a common problem with upright freezers so I recommend to buy from a reputable dealer. The name brand won't matter because they are all the same model freezers. I believe they are all made by Frigidaire. I probably should have just bought a used one that was made before I was born since that is the last time quality products were made. I will have to say that the shelves on the door are very flimsy and this thing runs almost non stop. I purchased the extended warranty through Frigidaire for $60 so I know that this thing will work for at least 3 years. I also read that Frigidaire's customer service is pretty bad so you may want to look elsewhere.

Sunbeam SGS90701W 0.7-Cubic Feet Microwave Oven, White

Sunbeam SGS90701W 0.7-Cubic Feet Microwave Oven, WhiteMy kitchen is quite small and lacks a built-in microwave, so this model is a good fit for me. Pretty basic control pad but adequate for my purposes, as I use it mainly to reheat leftovers or prepare steamed veggies. I've had it for a month or so and can't say how it will hold up over time. Mine is white metal; the finish is smooth and of decent quality. The interior dimensions are fine for my needs. My only criticism so far is that the glass revolving tray lacks notches to keep it in place, and it moves out of alignment on occasion. I think this is a well-priced choice for a small kitchen, dorm room, or office, where it will get light use and won't get moved around a lot.

This is a heads up for anyone who has sensitive hearing as I do: this little microwave oven works well enough and fits nicely on the kitchen shelf but it has an annoyingly loud beeper to let you know the heating has finished (and it beeps again several times if you forget to take the dish out within a couple of minutes). I called the company to ask if there's a way to turn down the sound (or even turn it off!) but there isn't.

Buy Sunbeam SGS90701W 0.7-Cubic Feet Microwave Oven, White Now

I have not been satisfied with this microwave at all. First of all the plate inside jumps around no matter how you position it, so everytime you try to cook something it sounds like there is a fight going on inside of this thing. Second of all the timer seems to only work half of the time. Kinda frustrating when you have something cooking on the stove and something cooking in the stove and not knowing how much time is left for the item to be cooked. And finally, the most important, the power of this model is pathetic. I know I read the description and such before purchasing, but come on, it can't even handle a lean pocket which is the most basic and most important of all microwave meals! Maybe my microwave was the red-headed stepchild in the factory and everyone else got the good ones, but I would stay clear of this junk and spring the extra dough for a good one. Now I'm out the cost of this AND a nice one... If you want a microwave dont get this, if you want a kitchen counter clock (without a reliable timer) by all means this is 100% what you need in your kitchen.

It is a small microwave. but for me works better than my big one (popcorn, etc,) Definitely recommend. It looks great on the cabinet.

Want Sunbeam SGS90701W 0.7-Cubic Feet Microwave Oven, White Discount?

It is too small; way too loud; hard to open and close; controls are not convenient; It is like a microwave that you'd see in the back room of a chiropractor's office. If I had a do-over, I would spend more money and buy a bigger and better quality microwave.

Danby DFF261BSLDB Bottom Mount Refrigerator

We bought one of these refrigerator/freezers for our basement bar area.

Pros:

Quite attractive. It's enameled gloss black steel on the outside with stainless steel [look] doors; inside is white. Danby's web site says this about the door material: "Spotless steel finish looks identical to real stainless steel but without the smudging"

Energy Star rated (uses 20% less electricity than most units); we received a $100 rebate from our power company because of that fact. Check with your utility company...

The two thermostatic controls are in the refrigerator section against the back wall, out of the way. (See Customer Images.) Many of these small refrigerators stupidly mount the control hanging down from the inside top which gets in the way of storing anything on the top shelf.

Frost free. The unit this Danby replaced was not frost free and its freezer would accumulate ice on of its walls just from the moisture in the air. It was a royal pain to defrost and clean up the water.

Set to 3/4 of maximum cold, the freezer gets down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit. We couldn't test how cold it would get on maximum since none of our thermometers read lower than 20 below. We leave it at about 5 below.

With plenty of cooling to spare we keep the refrigerator section just over freezing. These units work by directly cooling the freezer at the thermostat setting, and then circulating just enough freezer air through the refrigerator section to maintain its thermostatic setting.

Reasonably designed storage areas. Milk, orange juice, soda cans, etc., all seem to have their place. Gallon jugs even fit in the refrigerator door.

One of the very few small unit designs with the refrigerator section on top. That was important to us.

If you're standing right next to a unit that's on, you'll hear a very low frequency hum (emanates from the unit's rear & bottom) but at about 8' away, that hum is nearly inaudible. So, unless you're close to it, this thing is very quiet.

We ordered ours via the Sears web site for $420 + tax and picked it up in our SUV (to avoid a delivery charge) from the local Sears store. Locally purchased refrigerators are MUCH easer to return if they arrive defective or damaged. Since our old GE unit was reliable, we checked out the latest GE models at local appliance dealers. Unfortunately, they wanted twice as much for the new comparably sized GE units. Perhaps these GE models were "better", but you can't tell that by looking at them and their warranty was the same.

Cons:

The two plastic slide-in vegetable crispers in the refrigerator section are cheaply constructed and should have been larger to fully use their allotted space.

Other:

When opening the doors, the hinged side of the door pivots to the side ½" beyond the width of the unit. This makes flush installations on a hinge side impossible. So, although the unit is 23 5/8" wide, you'll need at least 24 1/4" width (24.5" is better) if either side is to be flush to a wall. We had exactly 24" available and it was really too tight. This isn't a product defect, just something to be aware of.

In a side-wall flush installation, the doors won't open far enough to fully remove refrigerator shelves or the freezer drawer, so set them the way you want before pushing the refrigerator into place. The refrigerator comes with a fixed location glass shelf over the vegetable crisper and 2 height-adjustable shelves, which is one too many if you plan on putting tall things on more than one shelf.

The doors come hinged on the right. For left hinging, you'll need to lay the unit on its back on the floor or have it sitting on an appliance hand truck (where it will be at a 45 degree angle). The doors can't be re-hinged if it's upright, since the freezer door hinge screws attach to the very bottom. You'll need an 8mm wrench (box, open, socket, or adjustable), Phillips and flat screwdrivers, and a drill with a 3/32" bit for pilot holes. In spite of the product handbook's drawings being way too small, any handy person should be able to do the job. If you buy the unit locally and have it delivered, that store's delivery person might rehinge the doors for you at no or minimal cost, but verify this before placing the order.

Once it's in place, the front two legs can be adjusted for height or level with groove joint pliers (search Amazon) or a similar tool, but the rear rollers do not adjust, which is standard for refrigerators. Therefore, it's important that the floor be reasonably level where the rollers will rest. If it isn't, consider using some type of shim arrangement that won't move when the unit is pushed into place.

If any refrigerator feet will rest on carpet, go the Home Depot or Lowes and buy a ½" thick x 2' x 2' plywood section for under the unit. (Both stores stock this size in their lumber section.) E.g., as shown in Customer Image 4, the front of our refrigerator was on a carpet; thus, the unit rocked to and fro, and made adjusting the front feet (having sunk into the carpet) all but impossible. Plywood stopped the rocking and made the front feet accessible for adjustment, but I had to construct a temporary "ramp" onto the plywood for sliding the unit into place. If you're having someone install the refrigerator, have the plywood ready.

The model and serial number are on a sticker on the back, so write these numbers down before pushing it into place.

Measurements:

26 3/4" deep from the very back to the front of the doors.

24" deep from the very back to the front frame (where the door gasket hits).

59 1/4" high

23 5/8" wide

Black plastic trim at the top/bottom of the doors results in the doors being 23 3/4" wide.

Opened anywhere near 90 degrees, the doors (on the hinge side) extend out ½" beyond the side of the unit.

With the compressor running, it draws 1.75 amps (202 watts).

Summary:

If you need a small refrigerator / freezer, this unit should be on your short list.

I just got my new Danby refrigerator this morning. I LOVE it! I fits in my small kitchen (10x10) and looks great. It runs so quietly that you can hardly hear it. The fridge is not listed as counter depth, but it certainly is. It makes my kitchen look so much more modern and updated. I emptied out my old fridge (it was 18 cubic feet)and everything fit. It's almost like it is made to hold things perfectly. I bought this because after much research, this refrigerator only costs approx. $43 a year to run. With the price of everything going up, I figured with the low running cost and the smaller size I would save in the long run. Having the freezer on the bottom is the best idea ever. Everything in your fridge is eye level. You can see and reach all of your food easily. Hopefully this stops me from "losing" something in the back of the fridge again, only to find it weeks later with a funny smell and green fur. No more wasted food = no more wasted money. The only downfall I can say is DON'T order it from this web site. I found it for $378 @ "The Great Indoors." Just so everyone knows, this is a Sears company (!!!) and the customer service is AWESOME. I even chose my exact delivery date and time. I contacted many companies about their delivery service and most all places only had "curbside" delivery. That means that they will bring it to your sidewalk/front door ONLY. The Sears delivery men were prompt, clean, and very polite. They unloaded it, unwrapped it, placed it in my kitchen, made all adjustments to make it level, cleaned up and took all the packing materials, asked if I had any questions about the fridge, and wanted to know if I was satisfied with everything. It was a wonderful experience.

GE WB25X10019 Microwave Halogen Lamp Bulb

GE WB25X10019 Microwave Halogen Lamp BulbI had loads of frustration trying to install these bulbs into my GE microwave to replace the burned out bulbs. I was surprised to find that my microwave required two of these bulbs and not one as I'd assumed prior to removing the back plate and taking out the burned out bulbs. The light is much brighter now and now I am wondering if one bulb was always out on the microwave from the time it was installed. At this price, it's very much cheaper than a service call and if I can install them, anyone can. Best approach I found was to wear rubber gloves (to keep skin oils from sticking to the bulbs). The grip of the rubber glove worked well and now my microwave is good as new. My microwave specified a WB36X10213 bulb and this bulb fit and is a working replacement for that bulb number.

good luck!

When the bulb burned out on my microwave I figured replacement would be easy. I had bought the unit locally at Home Depot so I was certain they would have replacement service parts... They had no idea what I was even asking for, despite being given the microwave's model number and carrying the later version of it on their shelves. They could not even offer to order it for me. :::Sigh::: Ten seconds on Amazon and I had 2 bubs on the way with next day delivery courtesy of Prime. They are exact replacements for the bulbs in the oven and were simple to install.

Buy GE WB25X10019 Microwave Halogen Lamp Bulb Now

Very annoyed with GE for making an unreliable unit that requires you be a contortionist to get to the bulbs to replace them and then using bulbs that are expensive and don't last as long as they are purported to last. We bought the GE profile stove and microwave/hood range almost 3 years ago. Finding the bulbs is a pain in the neck. (Remember when you could walk into any store and get an appliance bulb? No more.) Then it's getting to the screw to unscrew it--without standing on your head or dropping the screw behind the stove. Then it's getting the bulbs out of the sockets--which you can't see without a mirror--and then it's getting the new ones to go in--with or without the aid of a mirror. It's absurd for something that should be so easy and take five seconds to become a serious source of frustration. But $500 and three years later, it's not my problem anymore. Why? Because the microwave itself no longer works. Now you'd think that'd be not such a big deal--it is nearly 3 years old--but here's the thing. We rarely used it. We still have our old one on the counter and continued to use it. This microwave was part of a pay-as-you-go remodel on our kitchen. So we figured we'd wear out the old microwave first. Well, guess what. The new one is dead--shortly after the warranty expired, of course--and the old one is still working fine. It is not a GE. And the one we buy to replace this Profile turkey will not be a GE, either.

So why the 3 star rating? Because Amazon sells the right bulb for the right unit and delivers promptly. That the product is lousy, that GE changed part numbers and the only way we discovered it and what part to get was because Amazon realized this was a handy piece of information for owners of this lousy product to know and provided it when other vendors didn't. And because I appreciate Amazon going that extra mile to let me know what I needed to know when GE didn't bother.

And don't try using the G8 bulbs. They don't fit. You must, of course, buy the GE brand bulbs. $12 worth of bulbs plus shipping for the convenience of having your stove light actually emit light. And this is good, how? Good for GE, certainly not good for owners.

Now ask me if I'll ever trust enough to buy ANYTHING with the name GE on it for my home again. (For what it's worth, the GE PROFILE stove is lousy, too. But that's another review.)

Bottom line: Thumbs up to Amazon. Thumbs down to GE.

Our microwave sits above the stove and these lights are nice to have. I looked at Sears for replacements and they wanted $15 a piece and I needed 2. So, on Amazon, I was able to find them for $6 each. They were a little tricky to put in the unit, but not impossible. Remember not to touch them with bare hands, the oil from our skin affects the life of the bulb, so I am told.

I purchased 3 of these GE original replacement bulbs in the hope that they would last longer than 2 weeks in my GE Microwave vent light, one of them burned out in about 2 weeks but the other one is still burning. This appears to be about the experience I had received from much cheaper bulbs.

GE CS980STSS Cafe 30" Stainless Steel Electric Smoothtop Range - Convection

GE CS980STSS Cafe 30' Stainless Steel Electric Smoothtop Range - Convection

  • GE Cafe Series CS980STSS 30 Freestanding Smoothtop Electric Range with 5 Heating Elements Warming Zone 54 cu ft PreciseAir Convection Oven SelfClean Baking Drawer and Griddle Accessory
  • CS980STSS
  • GE - CS980STSS

I purchased this range from a local brick and mortar store and I love it, so far. It has a solid, high quality, updated but traditional look and feel that won't go out of style. It may sound silly, but the big, smooth, heavy metal knobs make a difference to me.

This range has a couple of features that some similar "non-backsplash", freestanding units don't have. It has a stainless trim around the cooktop, so the unit snugs up to the countertop without overlapping, making it simpler to install. In addition, many of the freestanding units vent oven air out the front of the unit. I read that some customers felt a strong gust of air blowing on them, while cooking. This range vents UPward from the back of the cooktop, so exhaust gets pulled away by our range hood fan.

I love the high wattage, extra-large burner in front, which can be used as a medium sized burner as well. Another medium on the other side, a variety of sizes in back and the 5th burner cooks as well as warms. I also love the baking drawer. There is one medium wattage element in the baking drawer, so it requires a longer preheat time, but as long as I remember to turn it on about a half hour before I want to bake some potatoes or a casserole, it does a great job. The larger oven preheats quickly and has many racks for cookies. So far, we used convection to evenly and quickly cook meatloaf and cookies.

We have experienced a couple of minor snafu's. The first scheduled delivery, the unit had a medium size dent and had to be sent back. The second delivery went smoothly, but after the delivery guys left, I noted a very small bend and unpainted section (small like 1/4" x 1/4" triangle shaped section) on the inside section of one of the exhaust holes. I probably could have requested a new unit, but frankly I didn't want the hassle. I called the store and they scheduled a service visit. GE Service carefully straightened the slight bend and ordered some heat resistant touch up paint. As a backup, they also ordered a replacement part for the section of metal that includes the unpainted area. Replacing the part seems like overkill, however, since you need a flashlight and to squint your eyes to see the spot. My only concern is rust (over the years). The paint should take care of that. They have scheduled a followup visit when the parts come in and indicated that I can choose to have them replace the part if I'm concerned that the touch up paint does not look ok. So, I'm very satisfied with their response.

This unit does not have a "hidden element" in the oven, as some ovens on the market do; easier for cleaning. I also would have liked a split oven rack and perhaps a rack with ball bearings, but these are minor issues.

I left a star off only because quality control might need improvement. If our unit arrived without any flaws, I would have given it 5 stars.

Buy GE CS980STSS Cafe 30" Stainless Steel Electric Smoothtop Range - Convection Now

I bought this stove nearly 3 years ago. So far I've been pretty pleased. It looks nice and works well for me. I bake a lot and generally just use the regular bake function. The 3 racks are very helpful. I don't have much experience with a convection oven and only use it if I need to dry something out or brown something quickly. The lower oven takes a while to heat up but is convenient if you need to keep something warm when cooking a big dinner. Or if you have a bit of time and don't really want to watch whatever's warming. I just throw whatever I want warmed up in the oven without preheating it and let it slowly warm. My biggest complaint is the metal piece above the knobs in front of the glass plate because it scratches, and also food and dirt tends to accumulate in between the metal and the glass and it's not easy to clean. Also, I'm not sure but I think the oven is getting nosier when it heats up. I can hear a fan or something going that sounds uneven. I will be phoning GE about this. All in all I am happy with the range. I would recommend the extended warranty because it is a pretty pricey item and from my research quality seems to be unreliable.

Please do yourself a favor and do not buy this range. I wish someone had told me all of the reasons you will hate this range. First of all it is seriously over priced. I owned this stove for approx 4mths when the real troubles started. I did not buy my stove from this company. There is only one big element. It looks like there is two but in reality there is only one. You pretty much have to cook everything on 8-9 or high, anything lower was just a simmer. The piece of metal that runs across the top above the knobs scars at nothing. My husband sat a pizza pan on the top and it was part way resting on the metal, he used the pizza cutter while holding the pan with the other hand and just the slight movement looked like he took sand paper to it. The knobs look great being on the front but in reality this is a real pain as grease and food drop on them while cooking, there is no way to avoid this and also no way to clean behind the large ring that the knob fits in. The knobs themselves can be removed for cleaning but the base cannot. There is a gap between this ring and the stove which food gets in. We had a accident involving pancake batter being dropped on one of the knobs and I could not get it out. I tried a tooth pick, I tried laying a wet cloth on it to soak it and it simply could not be removed. The touch screen on the front looks nice and works great but is super sensitive. It works like the touch screen on a iPhone, iPad etc. It is not one you push you just barely touch it. It is made of glass. On one occasion the oven was cut on just by rubbing against it and on another occasion I went to get dinner out as the timer was going off only to discover the oven had been cut off and the food was still raw. Everything else was done but the main course was raw chicken....not good. You would really hate this setup if you have small kids. The oven drawer is a joke it takes forever to heat up and only has one element resulting in burned food, also as we all know oven drawers seem to attract dust bunnies even if it is barely ever opened. The final straw was the piece of metal above the knobs developed a bulge in it for unexplained reasons. Because of this bulge the rubber gasket that fits between the glass top and the metal started to work its way out of the slot. I pushed it back in only to have it back out inside of a week. GE sent out a repair man who ordered a new part, when the part came someone had attached the gasket on the wrong side of metal piece making it unusable. I got a second part shipped UPS when I opened the box it had a used parts in it with food on it and no rubber gasket. The gasket problems resulted in electrical problems where moisture was able to get between the glass top and the metal piece. This is where all of the electrical parts are located for the knobs. This resulted in the oven thinking the door was not closed and the oven will not come on until the door is closed. It would just keep saying please close oven door. I would open and close the door until finally it would recognize that the door was actually closed. After nearly 3 months of dealing with this mess the place I bought the stove from brought me a new stove. I lost approx $300.00 by doing this but I was just happy to have this nighmare out of my house. The only thing this stove has going for it is that it is pretty. Stay away.

We were disappointed that the refrigerator only lasted 1 year beyond the warranty. We had to use the warranty during the 5 years to repair the compressor. The compressor then went out again after the warranty had expired 1 year and it would have cost almost as much to replace it and pay for a repair person to fix it as it would have to buy a new one.

The Maytag matches very well our other newer Bisque appliances so that is a plus.

It has about the same space as our older replaced Jennaire Side by Side 33 inch width one. Maytag : MFI2269VEQ 33in Bottom Freezer Freestanding Refrigerator Bisque

To fit this new one in we had to shorten the height of a cabinet above it but expected to do it for most newer refrigerators. Also it being deeper than our side by side we decided to reduce the back free-standing wall and got an extra 3.5 inches, which was most welcome. So it barely stands out no more than an inch than our side by side one.

In general it has worked very well for the week or so we have had it.

It produces enough ice for a family of three. We like two gallons of milk can fit on the door and easier access for our child to get snacks. It seems very well lit considering our Jennaire was a very well lit model also. I think it will do even better as it has more glass to let light through. It is one of the most energy efficient models in the French Door style we could buy even with the Ice in the Door front dispensor.

We got it from a Big Box store for a fair price that included free delivery and removal of the older one. They also offered a 10% Energy Rebate that helped the price for us even more! (considering we had to do some minor remodeling to get it to fit into the wall better).

The only real complaint is we wished it had an option for an Egg Tray that would fit into the Door's Dairy area! We may make our own one by cutting a nice one we have been using! Or just put 6 eggs in a large silicon ice tray since it is not yet offered. CS replied few of Maytags new refrigerators offer/include an Egg Tray.

It balanced fairly easily unlike our previous model. So over all we like it but do have to adjust to the ice in door taking up room in the top tray area but do fit a few items underneath it. Our last model did not and probably could not have the Ice in the Door so now we do have that option and like it at our currently 33 inch width.

I would not hesitate to buy it again.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator in July of 2012. It quit working in October. Maytag repairman did not have the replacement compressor that was needed. Home Depot brought us another refrigerator 10 days later. That refrigerator worked until the beginning of May 2013 (7 months later). Home Depot brought us another refrigerator 7 days later. We contacted Maytag after we received the new refrigerator and they were not willing to send us any compensation for aggravation or loss of food. Their customer service to say the least is non-responsive. We will never buy another Maytag refrigerator and we tell everyone we know not buy a Maytag refrigerator. Maytag had to know these refrigerators were defective and they should have recalled them. Home Depot Appliance manager told us there were multiple customers who had issues with these refrigerators.

There are many manufactures of appliances and our advice would be not to buy maytag!

Purchased new in June 2011, by October the refrigerator stopped working. The local authorized service company doesn't have parts in stock. I had to wait over a week for Samsung to ship the parts directly to my house. Lost an entire frig full of food.

We purchased this refrigerator in the summer of 2011. After 4 calls for the same parts breaking (ice maker and the "Twin fan and auto sensor component) we were able to take advantage of the lemon law (4 repairs for the same problem within 1 yr.). Samsung had to replace the 26.7 cu.ft for free. Unfortunately, we did not get the opportunity to select a different refrigerator. FOR THIS FRIDGE, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, which is something my husband and I typically do not do. Thankfully, and truly by a stroke of luck, we had the warranty (the salesman forgot to take it off the during the invoicing process as at Sears).

We purchased our Samsung Refrigerator in early 2009 and for the first three years it worked fine. Not great as the ice maker is VERY LOUD and VERY SLOW. However, after 3 years we began to notice that opening the veg bin became hard to do. Further inspection showed ice build up underneath the veg bin. Called out the repairman and was told to DEFROST the refrigerator for 48 hours and the problem would go away. Defrost a frost free refrigerator??? Two weeks later the same problem. Called out the repairman and was told that this was a common problem with Samsung and that he'd have to order parts. Parts were installed and 5 weeks later, the same problem. We're not out a dime as yet because we purchased the extended warranty. Now the repairman has ordered the same parts so we're waiting for them to be installed, but have been warned that they too will most likely not fix the problem. Best solution for this problem and for any Samsung refrigerator is to put it in the garage and go get something else. Ice maker is too loud, water builds up then turns to ice INSIDE the refrigerator, which then drains onto your kitchen floor.....other than that, not a bad product if you put it in the garage. Don't purchase a Samsung refrigerator unless you purchase a 4 or more year extended warranty. The warranty says that after three attempts to fix the exact same problem they'll refund you the purchase price (plus tax). I've discussed this with the Warranty Company who has confirmed that this is the only solution because at some point it starts to cost them more than it's worth to continue sending out the repairman.

I purchased Samsung refrig french doors model # RF263AEPN exactly two years ago. Fell in love with the refrig and relied on Consumer Reports when I purchased it. Approx 3 weeks ago the motor ran non stop, getting louder as each day passed. Called Samsung hoping they would help. They told me it was my problem since it was out of warrenty. The fan and coil simply froze and it would need several hundreds of $ to repair it. I did nothing wrong to cause this problem...it is obviously a defect in manufacturing of the refrig. In checking websites I discovered this is a common complaint and a class action law suit is in the works. Please check different websites before making the same mistake I did. Please do your homework!

Wine Enthusiast Silent 28 Bottle Wine Refrigerator (Stainless Steel)

Wine Enthusiast Silent 28 Bottle Wine Refrigerator
  • Stainless Trim Door
  • Silent Cooling Technology
  • Temperature range: 54-66F
  • Exterior Digital Controls w/temperature display
  • 28 Bottle Capactiy

We purchased this wine cooler from Wine Enthusiast a month ago to replace a larger Danby cooler that we had used for a little over four years. The Danby suddenly developed a fatal flaw that could not be fixed (the temperature kept increasing and could not be controlled). Needless to say, we were not interested in buying another Danby product. To control energy costs and conserve space, we looked for a smaller model, and the "Silent" model from Wine Enthusiast looked like it would fit the bill. We also liked the size, because we were considering placing it in our kitchen. When it arrived, we decided that, to keep the kitchen uncluttered, we would place the cooler in the laundry room, and we're glad we did. This model is by no means "silent." It has been installed with plenty of room on all sides, seems to be keeping a fairly steady temperature (plus/minus 1 degree of setting), but it does have a noticeable hum. In fact, it makes more noise than our kitchen's Amana refrigerator. The unit looks attractive, but you should be aware that larger bottles (particularly Burgandy-shaped bottles--those wider at the bottom than the top, and most champagne bottles) will not fit in this unit. In fact, even to load or remove standard Bordeaux bottles, you have to pull the tray partly out and carefully jiggle it back in. I guess that's the price you pay for the unit's compact size.

I purchased this wine cooler and it worked fine until about 2 weeks after the warranty expired. It is now a useless piece of junk that will cost more to repair that it is worth. Don't waste your money.

I used my AMEX points to buy this unit and was extremely disappointed when, after only 7 days of use, it developed a fatal error. The screen went black, and it began omitting a loud chirping noise. However, since I had discarded the packaging, I was SOL on getting it replaced. Instead I'm having to go through the warranty to get a repairman out to my house to fix it. Total nightmare.

First this is misnamed as it isn't silent, it hums. I wouldn't call it annoying, but I wouldn't lie and call it silent either. Secondly, and more importantly the selves are too tight to fit the majority of the bottles of wine I own apparently you need to specifically purchase bottles with smaller bases if you want to use this refrigerator (per their customer service). Since that isn't how I purchase my wine, I find that very annoying. Every time I want to pull out a bottle I need to use two hands to yank out the shelf and both the shelf above and bellow come out with it I then need to make sure none of these fall to the floor. When I push those back in the shelves rip off the labels, that is irritating too. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone with customer service and they told me that is the way it is so my recommendation is DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

After having this Wine Enthusiast 28 bottle unit for 14 months, the unit quit. After calling Wine Enthusiast, due to the way the thermocouple works, it is not repairable. Waiting to see what happens. Do not recommend the buying of this unit. It is quiet, but long term performance is not acceptable.

Whirlpool W10276341 Glass Shelf for Refrigerator

Whirlpool W10276341 Glass Shelf for RefrigeratorI ordered this shelf because the new Maytag fridge we just purchased didn't have enough of them. It is just like the shelves that came with the fridge. Looks the same and fits perfectly. Now installed, you can't tell the difference between this one and the originals.

I have searched for a replacement shelf for my Whirlpool Refrigerator and all I could find was very costly. This was a great buy and the description allowed me to order without worrying it would not work.

Swift Green Filters SGF-G9 Refrigerator Water Filter

Swift Green Filters SGF-G9 Refrigerator Water FilterI was not sure how this filter would work for me since i had a GE one that came with the fridge. I followed the instructions on the soaking and letting the water run through it and it works just like the GE one. I have not experienced any after taste. The only hurdle i had, was that i needed to apply additional force to insert it into the fridgei knew that but did not think too much of it untill i had to do it. I will be buying the combo packs next time since it is economical. I also like that it comes from Canada, for once there is something that does not come from China.

I had my water tested and the filter did not remove any chlorine, ammonia,or particles from the water. You are basically drinking tap water. Highly disappointed.

Fit perfectly and filters well. The water runs quicker now so maybe it's not filtering as well as the original one but there's no change in taste whatsoever.

This came with fairly easy-to-follow instructions. Only trouble I had installing was not realizing there was an edge on top that you have to line up with the fridge hole, or you risk damaging the filter. You can feel where to line it up with a finger, because you can't see it. Just push up and twist on that's it! It fits just fine and there's no leaking. The water comes out faster. The water tastes and looks fine. I like that it's more environmentally friendly than the GE filters. Only four stars because it has not been tested or certified by WQA for performance specifications it has been tested by an independent laboratory, and is certified by WGA according to NSF/ANSI standards for material requirements only.

Green Filter for Whirlpool WF-NL240 NSF Certified Refrigerator Water Filter, ...I bought and installed this in June, and I am now starting to taste a difference in the water from the fridge, so it is time to replace it. I expected it to last at least 6 months, but at the price, it's cheaper than most so I'll take it! It did do a great job at filtering the water while installed, so overall a solid thumbs up.

I can't believe what a dud this fridge is! We were so excited to get this (and it's no small investment). We wanted a large fridge for our growing family, and had space for a 36" wide appliance. We didn't want a bottom freezer because all of our friends were unhappy with the freezers on these total chaos inside with nothing found easily. Also, we have two kids under 5 years old so we wanted something that the kids could reach into and a bottom freezer makes the fridge above a child's height. We looked at side-by-sides, but all the reviews said the sizes were smaller than reported and we wanted to maximize the fridge size. So, even though this was more than we wanted to spend, we took the plunge and were so excited to finally upgrade from our 12 y.old, $400 Kenmore. What a mistake! I had no idea how low GE had come (time to sell that stock!). As soon as we plugged the fridge in we were shocked at the loud electrical sounding noise it made. We could hear it in the next room. In the hallway. At the dining table. It was that weird, high pitched sound that computers sometimes make. Not loud, but high pitched in a dog whistle kind of way. So I called the retailed, who said call GE. I called GE and after various phone calls, that I had to do from work and took approximately 2 hours of my time, I arranged for a repair person to come out. My husband took an entire day off work to wait for the guy and, predictably, he arrived in the last 5 minutes of the alotted time slot. He walked in, listened to the fridge and said, "yup, that's what a compressor sounds like". Total BS. I have two friends who bought fridges within a year of us, and theirs are totally silent. I'm startled by the silence when I walk into their apartments. But, then again, they were smart enough to have bought LGs. Anyway, now it's about 6 months from delivery and we're on to the next problem a *very* loud, motor boat-like noise. No idea where this is coming from, but can't wait for the repair person to tell me this is normal too. Haven't called GE yet, as it will be another few hours on the phone, trying to get the right person. Then a day off work. Then they'll probably just replace some part that will last long enough for the warranty to expire until the next problem. Listen for yourself should be enough to keep you away from this piece of...
