I received the order in good time and in good packaging. Installed the first filter according to the manufacturer's guidelines and the red filter light did not go off. I took it out and reinstalled it and the red light still did not go out. It seems to be working properly, just wish the light would reset itself to the blue.

Spent over $1000 on this product and it only worked for 2 yrs and 2 months. Put up with having to restart it over and over for a couple of months, then contacted service. Danby tech told the service guy that the main board and the solenoid were commonly malfunctioning and as a result they had re-engineered the parts, but would not provide them at no charge as the warranty had expired. They freely admitted it was badly engineered and they had fixed it but because it didn't fail for me until after the warranty expired I would have to spend $400 to fix it. Had it failed 4 months sooner as was inevitable, it wouldn't have cost me anything.

The Danby folks are rude and do not stand behind their products, the "customer service" rep told me basically so sorry but it worked for you for 2 yrs so I don't see what the issue is. $1000 for a cooler that only works for 2 yrs due to bad design and faulty parts is beyond ridiculous.

DO NOT BUY DANBY PRODUCTS. You have been warned.

DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT. I bought this unit three years ago and nothing but problems after 6 months. It actually was heating my wine. I only asked for Danby to fix the unit but it took several calls and to get someone to service the unit after another six months. Finally it was repaired but 6 months later I had the same problem. The united started heating both side which obviously ruins wine. When we called Danby again they told me they would call me back as it out of warranty but never called back. When I do call back they won't give me an answer but transfer me around or disconnect the call. You would think you would better service for paying a thousand dollars.

I have bought several things online and have never had a complaint or written a bad review. DANBY is my first and hopefully my last. They are horrible about backing up their product.

The only thing worse than the quality of this unit is the service that backs it up. They claim to stand behind everything for 2 years but they dont tell you no one is going to pick up the phone to handle your claim. I bought this unit in sept of 2009. it stopped working in sept of 2009. The store i got it from said i would have the part (circuit board) in 3 months. When i told them this would not suffice i finally got a replacement unit. That worked for 10months. Now the compressor is shot. Danby doesnt answer the phone. It reminds me of a Jaguar. Looks great, built like crap.

Margaritaville Chillin' Pour Liquor Chiller

I had never heard of such a device as the Chillin' Pour and likely would not have bought one before I was introduced to it and now I love the idea. My circle of friends are big fans of Jimmy Buffet and his songs. We get together often for dinner parties, pool parties or just to talk and we have a nice selection of appetizers and adult beverages. The Chillin' Pour is the perfect thing to create fun party drinks for the whole gang and just large enough for our group to sample a few.

Unfortunately the first time I plugged it in my margaritas did not change temperature after chillin' for over 5 hours. I wrote an email to the manufacturer explaining what happened and asking for advice. They acknowledged my email within a day from then gave me EXCELLENT customer service to resolve the problem.

So how do I like it? I love it. There are certain mixed drinks that don't do well with ice. For me those are the best to make in the Chillin' Pour. Things like Lemon Drops, Daiquiris, Manhattans, Appletinis, Whiskey Sour, etc. When served at the colder-than-ice temperature of 15 degrees they are especially good.

The Chillin' Pour is easy to use, very cool to look at, dispenses only the amount you want, and easy to clean. The retro compass that projects where to put your glass doubles as an indicator of when the Chillin' Pour has reached maximum cold.

Maybe the only suggestion I would give the manufacturer for their next generation is a swing-up carrying handle. One of the most fun things about it is to take it to our friends' houses already cold and ready to pour.

Five stars for the product and fifty-stars for the manufacturer's great service!

A minimalist explanation of this product is that it cools your drinks-supercools them. Does it make drinks? No-it's not a blender. You can pour in pre-blended drinks and they'll come out super-chilled, but it takes some time. Same with liquors: we poured in most of a bottle of good tequila and waited awhile-several hours to reach the minimum temperature- and had some nice shots, maybe the coldest I've enjoyed.

It's a fun product, but not for everyone. A good blender and some ice will meet most of your needs for less dough: it's also easier to clean, faster, and better for large quantities of drinks for medium-size to large parties. That said, there may be a place at your home bar for this clever gadget. As a dispenser of chilled shots for a small party, it's ideal.

OK, so I bought this to chill my Tequilla for a New Years Party. I thought this was cool, but come to find out it only chills 25 oz. at a time... don't know about you, but my friend & I (about 15 of us) all do shots of Tequilla, and this product will yield less than two per person!

2 Hours to cool, 4 hours to 15 degrees... ok, I can work with that, but when it only takes 25 oz of liquid, at a party, you will have a problem! Lots of mess to clean up when I can put my bottles in the freezer just as easily!

Sorry, but I am sending this back. Now give me one of these that holds 1.75 litre of liquor and I am sold. This product is not worth the price paid and I am disappointed.

So I bought this product here for $50 bucks about 2 months ago. When I took it out of the box I thought it was the coolest thing in the world... thats where the fun stopped. I plugged it in added some rum and 6 hours later it was "ready." BTW the freezer does it in a shorter amount of time. this works by cooling a metal box, under the thin plastic lid, to a cool "15" F. the problem with the design is the box is completely flat with a 1/4 inch rubber o ring in the middle connecting to the dispenser. This means when you want to switch from rum to vodka you have about a shot or two of the old rum stuck in the box with no where to go. so the other night I poured a bunch of vodka into the dispenser and 6 hours later it was still about 50 degrees... looks like mine stopped working. trying to return it now.

Not impressed. Other than creating a cold shot after many hours of waiting, so you can mix your drink, I found no advantage to this machine and am now trying to figure out some use for it that will justify the purchase. I got this for my office so that I can bring food in without having to worry about others deciding my food was theirs and to provide ice cubes that I can use for watering a bonsai plant. The first day it was plugged in there was a bit of noise while it worked to come down to temp, now I hear it for a few minutes out of the day. Works well, though the freezer compartment is a bit smaller than I expected it to be. The energy star rating on this item is pretty nice and was definitely part of my decision making process.

Cools well and is fairly quiet. Inside-the-door features are useful. Several small objects like fruit, sandwiches, small salads, and leftover fast food will fit inside. Not much space for an extended object the size of, say, a dinner plate or a an unsliced small pizza, however, since the refrigeration equipment steals most of the area in the rear of the refrigerator space. It did arrive with a small dent in one corner that did not affect performance. The dents occur because the unit is not packaged for individual shipping, only for shipping as part of a palletized load. Dropping the carton on a corner will surely cause damage.

I bought this for work, and as others have noted, the packing is not the best. I also find it is a little small inside but other than that have been using it for about 6 months and it seems to be working well. a lot of people at work like the black color better than the white ones they have.

This is a tough product to review. The little fridge has worked fine so far, but came with a huge dent on the top rear. I didn't try to return it, due to box was destroyed in shipping and taking it out of box. I did leave packaging information on yahoo with pictures, but got no response.

Some may say this is a product review, not shipping, but in this case, I think it applies as its hard to return. So you may be stuck with the dents. I read other reviews saying there's was dented too, but was hoping mine wouldn't be.

Bottom line, if you don't mind paying full price for a dented fridge, I would consider this purchase. If not, might want to look elsewhere or be ready to reject the delivery as soon as UPS delivers it.

GE WR30X10093 Icemaker Assembly for Refrigerator

Works fine as a replacement for older model ice maker with wire bin control. I was concerned that it might not work correctly as it is an updated model which uses a lever control and requires an adapter for the electrical connection. The adapter works but could be better designed as it extends the cable so it can be difficult to get the ice maker mounted flush. Overall I am pleased and the ice maker has worked perfectly since installed. It is a good substitute for the order model which is no longer available.

Googled this ice maker model and found a You Tube video on how to replace and it made the process very easy.

The icemaker makes ice and dumps fine but after about the first two times the basket filled I discovered that the shut off lever does not always work properly when the bin is full. This model requires ice to push the lever back horizontally instead of shutting off when ice builds up on top of the lever. I have to manually move a switch to off position before it will quit making ice. I do not recommend this unit for my Kenmore fridge/freezer.

The $80 ice maker is THE ORIGINAL FACTORY Teflon like coated ice tray and it's worth the $80 over the $40 models you can find. I've had this Kenmore refrigator since 1995 and the ice maker began loosing it's ice tray coating at about 2010. I replaced the factory unit with one of the $40 unit and was surprised to find the ice cube tray was not the original Teflon but what appeared to be a thick white paint. It worked for about 18 months but I started noticing flakes in my ice which I eventually determined to be paint and metal. It's a good quality product if that's what you're looking for and I believe it to be a OEM direct replacement.

The part arrived on time without damage, good sign. The replacement comes with various adapter cables although not for my particular application. Fortunately I utilized the cable from the old unit and it worked perfectly!! Nice to have an ample supply of ice for those long tall glasses :)

This actually works better than the one that came with the refrigerator when new. Maybe they've improved the part, which seems rare these days, or maybe the original was never quite right. The heater on the bottom of the new one in particular seems to loosen the ice better so it easily releases from the tray. The original unit always groaned for at least a few minutes when it was trying to flip out the finished ice. I finally had to replace the original unit because it couldn't dump the ice at all unless I reached in and manually gave the ice a push, like the gears or motor had worn out.

There is an installation guide in English. Easy enough to follow if one is handy. There are online video how-to's on replacing this style ice maker as well if you want to see it done. Reaching the screw toward the back of the freezer can be a stretch, and I used a small mirror to see what I was doing when working with that bit. One surprise is that while this part comes with several electrical harnesses, one of which is supposed to just plug into the freezer, the wiring harness on my 2002 Whirlpool is hard-wired to the freezer. That just meant I had to disconnect my existing harness from the ice maker end and re-use it. Not a big deal.

If you're wanting to replace a compatible ice-maker for yourself and save labor costs, this one seems like a good choice.
