This filter works but it is not as big around as the actual Samsung filter. This results in it not fitting into the filter space well and rattling inside the space when water flows through it. The noise is extremely loud and obnoxious. It happens every time water is dispensed as well as when the ice maker is refilling. Next time I will pay the extra money for the Samsung filter that fits correctly.

In the past I have always purchased the brand name Samsung water filters. 2 years ago I moved to Tucson after living in Denver for the past 20 years. The water in Denver is delicious right out of the faucet. Here in Tucson, not so much! I've noticed since living here that the ice cubes from the fridge did not taste good and naturally I felt that it made my iced beverages taste not so good as a result. Got this for my Grandmother's Samsung fridge. They lock right into place, filter great and work well. Less than half the price of the Samsung branded filters and showed up in 2 days! As someone noted, they are smaller in diameter than the OEM, but it affects nothing. They lock in tight, don't leak and work well. I bought this icemaker to replace the icemaker that wasn't working in my 2003 side-by-side Frigidaire fridge. We've got a 20+ year old refrigerator/freezer and the ice maker has gone kaput. After much research, Frigidaire told me that this was the model I needed; but, after buying it, it was clear the connectors are different. Wasn't sure if it could be wired by an electrician, but going deeper into the Frigidaire ranks of technicians, I was told that the differing power requirements could start a fire, so I, unfortunately, had to return it. Note to others: if you have a really old refrigerator, ask Frigidaire to send you a picture of the connector before you buy so you can see if you have a chance of getting them to match. I wish I had.

I picked up one of these about 2 weeks ago. The unit was used, but it looks like it was hardly used.

First off, It is NOT A FRIDGE. It is a Cooler. The unit uses thermoelectric cooling. That means, instead of needing a lot of power to operate a conventional Cooling system with compressor, fan condensor, and evaporator, it uses a small computer sized fan, and a small chip.

The result is more interior space vs. a conventional unit, and get this... 65W power usage. Thats all.

Its not as good as a real fridge, but it will cool items inside (beer) 20-30 degrees below room temp. so if your house it 75, its going to give you a beer at 45.

The unit is very very quiet, and holds over a case of beer. I have mine right next to my couch, and I can't hear it run unless I really listin for it.

If you know what your needs are and a drink cooler is it, then I say save the watts and get this instead.

My son took it to college and didn't tell me it didn't work. Now it's too late Target wised up and stopped selling this piece of junk. I want my $100 back. Guess I'm sunk. Easy ordering, timely shipping, no reason not to order from here again. This model is a replacement to the Maytag original. No difference in taste or performance and it's less expensive.

We purchased these filters instead of the brand that came with the refrigerator because they are a fair amount less costly and because we've had good luck with other Brita filters in the past. Have used one of the six we ordered so far, for about a month, and the water tastes perfect just like it always has. The physical fit is a tad less tight on the fitting than the old filters, but it's got the same o-ring seal and doesn't leak. Don't know how long it will last before needing replacement again, but it should be every bit as good as the original. Recommended.

However, unable to compare the types of things the Brita filters out of the water as compared to the manufactures' original filter. Brita states on box by law it is not allowed to make the same claims as manufacture. So does it just filter out chlorine and fluoride or does it also filter lead and small particles like the Original maufactures' filter does? Who knows?

EdgeStar 80 Can Built-In Beverage Cooler - Black/Stainless Steel

We purchased this EdgeStar 80 Cooler in July 2012. Within weeks the temperature inside began creeping upward. We emptied the contents, and unplugged the unit, hoping to "reset" the thermostat. After a day we plugged it back in and it cooled down to 39 degrees. Again after several days the temperature began creeping up. We repeated the process, and noticed that there was ice forming in the back wall of the inside of the cooler. Over the next month we repeated the process, thawing and plugging back in.

We finally called the company today, Oct 24, and were told by the service manager that it only has a 30 days labor warranty. We would have to find our own refrigerator service person, have them look at it, and that person could call and order parts. Edgestar does not have service people they work with or recommend.

I explained that the unit had never worked properly, and he said there was nothing he could do, because the unit was more than 30 days old. He stated that the company was giving us "excellent customer service" by telling us to find our own service person.

The unit is worthless. The company, located in Austin TX is worthless. The service manager would not even direct my call to his superior, stating that I could call back as many times as I wanted, and he was the only person I would be able to talk to.

I had hoped that by buying a product made in the USA, it would be a quality company and service. Do NOT do business with this company.

EdgeStar 80 can beverage cooler has great capacity and runs quietly. It has had some problems in the few weeks we have owned it with maintaining its gasket seal, so temps have risen. We otherwise like it.

I guess the bottom line is that this product simply did not live up to my expectations. I didn't by the least expensive models I found because I was afraid they would not maintain the desired temperature. This unit advertises a selectable range down to 38 degrees. Unfortunately, it has a thermostat that shows the actual temperature, which, in my experience is usually between 40 and 46 degrees, depending on the external temperature. To be clear, this unit is in an interior room in a very well insulated office building, but if the outside temp is over 8i0, the unit isn't going to be under 40.

We purchase a Samsung Refirigerator/freezer from Sears. It came with a 1 year warranty. I found out Square Trade was a fraction of the cost Sears charged for extended warranties, so I bought a 5 years extended warranty. As luck would have it, we encountered a problem about 10 months after we bought the unit. It was minor, but 1st, Sears said it wasn't covered, then told us to fix it ourselves. Finally they sent a tech out, who said he didn't have a clue. After the Square Trade warranty kicked in, we called about water in the crisper drawer. The tech they chose came out, fixed the 1st problem Sears didn't have clue about, then replaced a defroster panel. The fix seemed to work for about 2 weeks, then came back. The service tech refused to come back, so we called Square Trade. a different service tech came out, replaced the same panel and made a few modifications. This lasted a week. Again, once paid they did not want to come back. We finally called Samsung and arranged for a factory tech to service the unit. A called to Square Trade ensuered us they would fully cover the repair. The factory tech installed a $2 part that fixed everything. A call to Square Trade and an email with the receipt attached got a check mailed to us in 24 hours for the full amount. You can't do much better than that! I would recommend Square Trade to all my friends. I've placed claims on several items from eBay with good results, even used items. It's a small price to pay for worry free purchases.

2. This filter has no locking position design. This filter will stay in place, however, there is no locking position as the original filter, so don't bump into this filter.
