Samsung RF4289HARSSamsung RF4289 28 Cubic Foot French Door Refrigerator with 4

Samsung RF4289HARS
  • Samsung 28.0 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator with Thru-the-Door Ice and Water
  • This refrigerator features an LCD touch screen with apps for easy operation and an independently controlled mid-drawer. The Twin Cooling Plus system ensures thorough temperature management.

Purchased this Samsung fridge as the final appliance to wrapup our change-over to stainless steel. For first 10 days, the refrigerator didn't seem to be keeping items cold in the refrigerator section. Freezer was working great (ice cream was rock solid) but refrigerator would not stay at temperature set on computer display. If I set the temperature for 34 degrees, the inside was anywhere from 46 to 55 degrees most days. Experimented for several days disabling energy saver and running on Power Cool, but nothing seemed to be a permanent fix.

I called Samsung was very disappointed with their response. They don't know much about this model yet. Level 2 support told me that I couldn't use a thermometer to measure the inside temperature. They told me that I could not use a mercury or digital thermometer because it would have to be calibrated for the fridge. When I asked what type of thermometer I could use, they could not give me an answer. I was told to trust the refrigerator to do it's job -Sure! They can eat the spoiled food! They told me that a few degrees was normal (which I accepted) but not 10 to 12 degrees all the time.....any, to make a long story short I decided to "reboot" my fridge.

Yup, it's a linux OS that runs the system and all the apps. I decided to pull the power plug for the first time since I installed the fridge and voila. The refrigerator started working correctly. Temperatures started reporting within 2 to 4 degrees of the set temperature on the control panel. So, if you buy this frige and have this problem, remember to reboot your fridge after a few days if the temperature doesn't hold.

As for the apps. yup, Pandor, Weatherbug, AP news, Picasa web album (SD Card or photos from any DLNA network device in your home), Epicurious and more all work via WiFi. Since my wife can no longer magnetically hang a calendar on the stainless steel, I showed her how to sync her IPhone with Google Calendar which puts all her appointments and reminders on the refrigerator screen for her to review every morning. Very cool. Also the NotePad option allows you to hand write notes and messages on the screen or with a keyboard. Very cool too. While the Apps are interesting and work quite well, I can't see myself reading the news or twitter feed on the door. The screen saver mode allows you to display all or some of the specific feeds.

Finally, there is a "Smart Grid" feature prominent on the display that nobody at Samsung Level 1 or Level 2 can tell me about. When you select the option, it gives you a warning that tells you a little about smart grid. It then displays an error message saying you don't have the SmartGrid modem. When I called Samsung support, they told me to just "go buy a modem". When I asked, what type and where do I "plug in" the modem board to the refrigerator, they came up blank for answers..... I suppose once enough people call and complain, they'll provide tech support with a better response.

Samsung support is outstanding! Call Samsung first before calling the retailer. They will send somebody onsite, no questions asked, to repair a $3000 refrigerator or a $350 microwave (which I bought a few weeks before which came with mfg cosmetic defects).

REFRIGERATOR: Oh yeah, how do I like the appliance as a "refrigerator". The refrigerator compartment is well lit with LEDs and spacious. Some of the door shelves needed getting used to when switching from my old Kenmore side-by-side as only certain bottles of certain heights will fit in specific locations. Seems more cramped on the doors. Inside shelve area, I can't seem to fill it with food or leftovers. The top right shelf (lowered one notch) is the one place tall enough to store bottled waters and some cold beer bottles. I would prefer to have them somewhere on the door, but they just don't fit.

COUNTER HEIGHT DOOR: The "counter-height" door is just silly. The sliding divider in the showroom seems like such a cool idea, but in practice, if you don't have solid block objects larger than the spacer, things are falling in between compartments as you poke around. COMPLAINTThe middle drawer does not come out far enough to easily see what's in the back section of the drawer. You can reach items, but you have to poke around and bend down.

FREEZER: Works rock solid and never had a problem. My wife and I complain that the ice cream is just too hard now. That's a good thing. Has section organizers but main section is just a big dumping place for stuff.

ICEMAKER: Works great but 1/4 the capacity of our old Kenmore and VERY NOISY when the ice drops into the bucket. Yeah...VERY noisy, otherwise you don't hear a thing from the fridge. Wife empties the ice bucket every morning with 3 "Big Gulp" type cups of ice she brings into work. My old Kenmore would half fill an Igloo Playmate. .

WATER DISPENSER: Works great and high pressure. Wife complains because the first few seconds the water is warm. This is because the water tube runs inside the door, behind the touch-screen computer. Water is cool after a few seconds. WARNING: Been about 3 week so far and the water still tastes and smells like the plastic reservoir. Looking forward to not having "that new fridge smell".

PRICE: Shop around. Purchased for $3300, then price discount a week later took off about $200. Then a competitor ran a Samsung 25% discount the next day and we saved another $600+ . Thank you Best Buy Price Match Policy.

AUGUST 2011 UPDATE: Refrigerator is performing flawlessly. Several software updates over the past few months have been pushed down and all the problems appear to be resolved...knock on wood. Counter-height door continues to be silly use of space with divider, Freezer is still a disorganized mess and we've gotten used to the "You've got Ice" plunk :-)

Agree with above reviews. Reboot fridge (unplug, wait about a minute and plug back in) after a few days from the time you first plug it in. Ours had wild temp swings prior to the reboot. Sometimes display said 15F in fridge, but thermometer said 38F. Other times display said 38F but fridge was actually 45F. After reboot it seems to be accurate again. Also, have heard some people (on other sites) say touchscreen doesn't work well (or not at all). I had this problem with a display model I was looking at in the store and was ready to pass up this fridge and go with the version w/out the LCD. But, I performed the touchscreen calibration and it worked perfectly after that. I especially like Weatherbug and have programmed my home weather and also weather for my family in another state. I really like the flex-space drawer as we can put sodas in there and cool them down to almost freezing temp. Nothing like drinking a Coca-Cola at 33F! Can't do that with a normal fridge as it's not good for lettuce and etc. The fancy sliding divider is useless. If they really want to improve it they need to make it so that you can lock it in place. It is so loose, it allows stuff to move around. We plan on getting some plastic tubs to organize it better. I'm going to see if I can remove the sliding rail system altogether. This thing is quiet! Way quieter than our 8yr old Maytag wide by side it is replacing. Like everyone else says...when the ice drops into the bin, it is loud. Most fridges are loud when this happens, but this one is especially so. It's been 2 days and the water has that "plasticky" taste. I hope the lines and filter purge this eventually. I wanted a fridge that would "WOW" my wife every time she looked at it or opened it. This one does that for sure.

Update: 12/13/11. So far the refrigerator has been great! I purchased a refrigerator thermometer and the temp has been spot on in all 3 parts of the refrigerator. I do notice, it takes a day or so to stabilize temp after you add a bunch of groceries. Maybe it's the energy efficiency programming. But, you can use the "power cool" setting and it cools down quicker. We are still running the flex-space drawer at 29F and enjoying sodas nice and cold! The longer we have the fridge the better we like it. We flip the "flip-up" shelf and put wine there. Also, when the right door is full of milk & OJ, we can slide the right middle shelf back out of the way and store a gallon of apple cider there. Really handy!

Update 6/10/12: Fridge is working perfect. Temps in all compartments are spot on. So far we are extremely happy! I'm about to order my first replacement water filter.

Update 7/13/12: Ordered new water filter. This one gave great tasting water right away. The original filter was part # DA29-00020A, whereas the new filter is DA29-00020B. Samsung must have changed something between the two filters.

I agree with many things the first reviewer had to say and yes, I rebooted my fridge as well although as I had the opportunity to read his review, I did it on the second day and now, temperature is basically spot on. All three compartments, fridge, drawer, freezer are usually +/1 degree of set point. I think the temperature sensors simply needed to stabilize and then calibrate with a reboot. I don't know that it wouldn't have happened on it's on as I didn't give it a chance.

Lighting in this thing is awesome. LED's all over the place, in every compartment so it's very easy to see what you have. Fit and finish seem excellent and it's EXTREMELY quiet. With any background noise in the kitchen at all I have to really listen to hear it running.

It's pretty cool having your fridge connected to the Internet, I particularly like having the Weatherbug app on the display and the wife likes having her Google calendar syncing with it.

I guess the only complaint I have and the reason I didn't give it five stars is the ice maker, and where it is. I would gladly give up having ice dispensed through the door (although water would still be nice) to have the ice maker mounted in the freezer to gain the lost space in the fridge. Most manufacturers however do the same thing. I can only recall one and I think it was Amana that had water only dispensed through the door and the ice maker in the freezer. Still, we moved from an old KitchenAid side by side with 25.0 cu/ft and this Samsung is 28.0 cu/ft so all in all, even with the ice maker in the fridge, we gained a HUGE amount of refrigerator space, so I don't complain too much.

I would buy this refrigerator again in a heart beat. Deals are to be had if you look

Never, ever again will I buy a Samsung major appliance. I have three of their televisions, and love them, but this fridge is a steaming piece of crap.

Repairmen out 7 times since I bought it, all to repair problems with the freezer. Main board replaced. Then (less than two weeks later) main board AGAIN replaced, along with all the sensors in the freezer section. Then daughter board and more sensors. Then the door display panel. Then the main board replaced for the third time and blamed on me because I was running the freezer empty, so they charged me for it. Like I was going to trust this freezer after that many failures until it had run reliably for a good long time? I'm still arguing with Samsung over that one. This morning I woke up to find my kitchen and dining room flooded the water chiller tank in the fridge is broken, there's water everywhere, and the fridge is a frosty 65 degrees.

The best money I've spent on a fridge in the last year is the cheap one I put in the garage. It's never broken down, and it works even in the summer in an uncooled garage. This thing? Unless you've got a masochistic streak a mile wide, a bottomless checking account, a love of throwing away food that was perfectly good when you went to bed last night but the fridge managed to destroy while you slept, and someone to stay home all day long waiting for the repairman again, don't even consider it.

I'm either going to call the repairman again, and hope that I get the one guy at the Samsung Authorized Repair Center who actually knows anything about Samsung refrigerators, or I'm stopping on the way home to get a new fridge and toss this thing on the junk heap, where it belongs. It's a toss-up right now.

I purchased my 26X series Samsung French-door refrigerator and also had the good fortune to remember to buy a Lowe's 4-year extended warranty.

Samsung products are junk, plain and simple. Once Korean-made quality products they are now made in China and are garbage. Samsung does not support their products unless you know how to create trouble for them.

Just a month after the Samsung warranty expired the icemaker reservoir did, too. That was repaired under the extended warranty the first, second, and third time. The bottom freezer gasket failed and was replaced. The freezer light switch failed and was replaced. Five days after the technician replaced the entire icemaker system the water dispenser failed. After replacing the main circuit board in back, the front control panel, lines, water switch and water reservoir with no luck the technician declared the refrigerator "unrepairable."

After the icemaker failed for the third time and the lower gasket and switch and the main CB had failed and been replaced I sent an email to Samsung Support from their website. What I got in response was that Samsung considers these types and numbers of failures within less than two years since purchase "Normal wear and tear."

Chatting online the representative apologized but refused to escalate my issues to a higher level ("Not allowed").

I contacted Lowe's Home Office and advised them of my problems and the fact of so many negative reviews in Amazon as well as the Class Action lawsuit against Samsung for selling several models of refrigerators with KNOWN defective compressors. Lowe's promised to look into the matter.

I waited a few days and then did another online chat. This time my claim was routed up the chain and I was assured I would get a call "within 2-3 business days." On the fourth business day I went back on the Chat Line and I got a call several hours later.

Suddenly, Samsung was "very concerned" and was willing to issue me a rebate for the depreciated value of the unit. All I had to do was send them a copy of the original sales receipt and invoices for the repairs. I did that and was told it would be 17-21 business days for my refund.

About a week later I got a call from a TV repair shop asking to set up an appointment to "inspect a Samsung unit." I told him I did not have a Samsung TV and he said he would cancel the call. I found out later that Samsung has no appliance service techs in my area and they then cancelled my claim.

Got that straightened out with the promise of another call to Lowe's Home Office and now I am SUPPOSED to be getting my depreciated rebate soon. The Lowe's Extended Warranty folks confirmed the "unrepairable" status with the technician and they are issuing me a Lowe's gift card for the full purchase price plus tax.

...and the icemaker gave up the ghost for the FIFTH time last night. Rather than try to sell it or give it away I am going to have Lowe's take it away and junk it.

Again, DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT OF ANY KIND.

Water Sentinel WSS-2 Refrigerator Replacement Filter for Samsung DA29-00020A, DA29-00020B 2 Pack

Water Sentinel WSS-2 Refrigerator Replacement Filter for Samsung DA29-00020A, DA29-00020B 2 Pack
  • Delivers clean, clear water that looks and tastes great
  • Will remove or reduce Chlorine, Tastes and Odors that may be present in your drinking water
  • Designed to provide up to six months of life or 300 gallons
  • Does not remove minerals which may be beneficial to health
  • Made proudly in the USA!

This filter works but it is not as big around as the actual Samsung filter. This results in it not fitting into the filter space well and rattling inside the space when water flows through it. The noise is extremely loud and obnoxious. It happens every time water is dispensed as well as when the ice maker is refilling. Next time I will pay the extra money for the Samsung filter that fits correctly.

In the past I have always purchased the brand name Samsung water filters. 2 years ago I moved to Tucson after living in Denver for the past 20 years. The water in Denver is delicious right out of the faucet. Here in Tucson, not so much! I've noticed since living here that the ice cubes from the fridge did not taste good and naturally I felt that it made my iced beverages taste not so good as a result. So this time when I replaced the filter I decided to try a different filter. What a difference! The ice cubes taste much better than before and the price was less than the name brand filter.

Got this for my Grandmother's Samsung fridge. They lock right into place, filter great and work well. Less than half the price of the Samsung branded filters and showed up in 2 days! As someone noted, they are smaller in diameter than the OEM, but it affects nothing. They lock in tight, don't leak and work well. GE Profile : PDSS0MFYLSS 20.3 cu.ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Stainless Steel

GE Profile : PDSS0MFYLSS 20.3 cu.ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Stainless Steel
  • GE
  • GE Profile PDSS0MFYLSS 201 cu ft Bottom Drawer Freezer Refrigerator with 4 Adjustable Glass Shelves Internal Electronic Controls IntheDoor Beverage Rack and Internal Ice Maker Left Hand Door Swing
  • PDSS0MFYLSS
  • GE - PDSS0MFYLSS

We bought this GE Profile bottom freezer fridge from PC Richards several months ago because of an emergency: our old bottom freezer kitchen aid finally died after 18 years of flawless service. I should have looked more carefully but the shiny compartments -there are lots and lots of compartments -overwhelmed me. I should have particularly paid closer attention to the freezer compartment. With the installed ice maker, the layout of the freezer makes for a tiny, tiny space difficult to manage. In fact, all those shelves and drawers and compartments, while looking hyper-efficient, really make storing food problematic and difficult -much, much more so that the old Kitchen Aid is replaced. On the door, the way the flip-open compartments are aligned takes away useful stroage space, and makes it difficult to store taller items. It is also surprisingly noisy when the compressor kicks in. On the positive side, it does keep temperatures correctly both in the freezer and fridge areas, the interior lighting scheme is nice, and the door alarm has turned out to be a useful feature. But if you're thinking of a GE profile, just be careful when assessing its useful storage space, as opposed to its gross cubic footage.

Haier HNSE04BB 4.0 Cubic Feet Refrigerator/Freezer, Black

Haier HNSE04BB 4.0 Cubic Feet Refrigerator/Freezer, Black
  • Half-width freezer compartment with ice cube tray
  • Dispense-a-can storage; fits up to 6 cans
  • 3 full-width interior glass shelves
  • 1 full-width and 2 half-width door storage shelves
  • Accommodates 2-liter and tall bottles

This came in two days, it was not to heavy for me to move around especially because of the way it is packed. It is roomy we fit groceries for two with space to fill, it has an adorable ice tray (really it is cute) everything is frozen or cooled and I am trashing my huge fridge.

One drawback.... There seems to be a buzz in it when the cooler turns on. I have sensitive ears and it is hardly noticeable to me now. I have not contacted anyone, but I am sure if I need to Amazon will do its usually... Help me out quickly and respectfully.

Still love it! If you want a roomy freezer you'll need an extra one.

Arrived promptly and in good condition. Used as basement refrigerator for bar. Front door looks nice, and keeps items cold. It does its job. It is noisy (louder than full size refrigerator in my kitchen) and noticeably louder than the unit that it is replacing (Haier Aficianado Series 4.4cu ft approx. 2006 vintage). Compared to prior unit Haier has definitely cheapened up the product over the years. Finish on exterior, lack of door lock, no interior light, and wire retainers for compartments on door.

Made a lot of noise, but worked well for about 3 months. Then totally died. They said they will send a replacement. We will see.

Among the least expensive refrigerators of its size, I was pleasantly surprised with the unit. It cools well, is relatively quiet, and has plenty of refrigerator space. The door seals well when closed, and was reversed easily.

Others have reported packaging/shipping issues, but I didn't experience any. The manufacturer's box has 0.5" styrofoam on all four corners and 1" top and bottom. That box was wrapped in bubble-wrap and placed in a larger box which was shipped. All of the (glass) shelves were taped in place and padded so they wouldn't break.

Can't comment on longevity (yet), but everything else is great.

I personally don't have any use for the gallon-jug storage in the door (I bought it for an office environment) but I can see that as a selling point for those who'd buy it for a small apartment.

I use this fridge in my dorm room and it gets the job done. It has a few minor downsides: The freezer portion is rather small. I have only really kept ice in it. I could fit a few other things in there if I needed, but there are probably other products out there for people who want appreciable freezer functionality (this wasn't really what I was looking for, so not a problem for me). The ice cube tray also broke over time. The cubes did not pop out very easily so eventually it cracked and then snapped. It's also smaller than it has to be a larger ice cube tray would fit in the freezer, so that's what I'm buying. Lastly, it does hum when it turns on, which can be somewhat annoying in a dorm room setting.

Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer

Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep FryerI've had one of these little fryer appliances since they first became popular in the seventies. The current model is the second one I've had, being larger than the original model that came out.

For someone not needing to fry enormous amounts at one time, this little machine is ideal. It requires only a very small amount of vegetable oil. I've used it to fry chicken wings, quickly, to do french fries and onion rings, to do other smaller chicken parts, and it works beautifully. There is no thermostat; you just plug it in, wait 10 minutes, and the temp is 375. Having such a small amount of grease, it recovers heat more quickly than an electric skillet.

When you are through, if you plan to reuse the grease you can simply let the machine cool, snap the plastic top on, the put the whole thing in the fridge. I don't fry that often, and when I do, I tend to fry a lot, so usually I just discard the oil. Such a small amount is used (usually no more than 3 cups starting out) that I don't feel bad about discarding the oil.

The sides on this appliance are quite high, and splatter around the machine has never been a problem. I used common sense, though, when I fry, whether it's here or on the stove.

I'm sure the all-enclosed auto-fryers that are out on the market are nice, and if I fried a lot I'd probably get one. However, I only fry once or twice a month, and for that, this little machine is perfect. I'd recommend one to anyone--durable, simple, and does exactly what it's designed for!

After spending more money on 2 faulty deep fryers (Rival is hit-or-miss for quality), I've finally settled on this little beauty.

Pros:

1.) Cheap and simple, a very compact and minimalist package overall. It is nothing more than a steel bucket with a heating element underneath.

2.) Fries at 350 degrees, 25 short of "ideal" but safe for cooking with lard and lower smoke point oil. Try lard if you never have, you can still get it in supermarkets.

3.) Milled steel bucket, cast aluminum base. Inside has a permanent synthetic non-stick surface. Clean up and changing oil is simple.

Cons:

1.) This fryer isn't for families with young children or dumb people. Hot oil is always dangerous to work around and this unit is a STEEL BUCKET FULL OF OIL. The outside is hot. The inside is hot. It's hot.

2.) Doesn't have a lid to stop the occasional spatter.

3.) The bottom and healing element are shielded, but it will still warm up your synthetic countertop. I have mine on an old wooden cutting board to avoid warping the plastic.

Buy Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer Now

I fry things about 1-2 times a week, and I liked my fried things to be very crispy yet not laden with oil. I wanted something that would truly get to a hotter frying temperature, to make my frying quicker and more "healthful"...(healthy frying....is that an oxymoron or what?) Because I don't fry THAT often, I just needed something simple.

I like this fryer because the heat-up time is very quick, and there is much less splatter then if you were frying in a pot. When I fry, I usually do your typical fried foods: fries, onion rings, wontons, etc. I have not tried to do anything else in it yet.

If the oil is fairly clean after I use it, I will put it in the refridgerator, but not keep more than a week. This is a very simple fryer. If you are a more heavy-duty fryer, then you might want to look into a fancier one. The exterior is not cool-touch, and there is no basket. If you only do small batches of things, and don't really fry that much, or even if you do, then this will be a great fryer for you.

Read Best Reviews of Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer Here

This machine is really easy to use...I fried dough to make funnel cake and donuts, and it was simple. All you have to do is put in your oil, heat it up, and add the dough. The number of things you can fry is endless. My personal favorites are the funnel cake, chicken tenders, and french fries. Depending on what you are making, cooking time can vary from mere minutes to a half hour. Experiment, create your own recipes, it's easy.

One word of advice is to make sure to clean the fryer and change the oil regularly. Nothing is worse than frying with old oil. Keep the fryer very clean! Enjoy!

Want Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer Discount?

For years I've avoided making my own fried foods, as I had no luck frying in pans or my wok. My husband suggested a FryDaddy, remembering their commercials from the 1970s. We've had it for over a month and have used it several times, and it's been terrific. We've used it for shrimp and tempura thus far. It's nice to free up a burner on the stove by using this countertop item.

Browning is kind of tricky at first, because this gadget fries really quickly, faster than their instruction guide indicates. Fried shrimp for po' boys took 2 minutes at the most to get brown. Once I scooped out a couple batches of shrimp the oil level went down a bit, and the temperature increased, nearly burning next batch. I recommend adding more oil to the fill line if this happens. Also, the oil will splatter, so I use a splatter screen over the top to prevent a big mess.

It's not the easiest to clean and the cord is inconvenient. For safety reason, the FryDaddy has a short cord and recommends you not use an extension. Unless you're lucky enough to have an outlet right next to your table, this won't be a tabletop item sort of a bummer if you want to make tempura at the table! Second, this unit is a bit hard to clean. The cord has a habit of collecting batter that drips, and of course the FryDaddy cannot be immersed in water. I clean the unit by pouring hot water into it with a little dish soap to soak for a few minutes. After I pour it out, I wipe clean with paper towels and let dry.

Green Filter for Samsung DA61-00159A-B NSF Certified Refrigerator Water Filte...

Green Filter for Samsung DA61-00159A-B NSF Certified Refrigerator Water Filte...I am really liking the green filter. It connects to the input on the fridge easily, isn't any more or less heavy, is the same size as the oem model from samsung, but the bonus is the recyclability! The oem filters have to be thrown in the trash instead of recycled...it's a large item! So happy this can go in my blue bin in 6 months.

LG LT120F Fresh Air Filter

LG LT120F Fresh Air FilterThis is the second filter I've used in my LG fridge; replacing them is as easy as spinning the cover so it pops off (with filter attached), then pulling out the old filter, putting in the new filter, and reattaching the cover+filter with a spin and push in the opposite direction.

We have a lot of different foods in the fridge, and have not noticed any problematic smell. Additionally, the filter was about 30% darker than a new one after six months' use, so it's definitely trapping particulates too! Keep your air and water filters fresh, cover/enclose perishable foods and leftovers, and throw away food before it spoils, and your LG fridge will smell neutral for its entire existence--until one of your kids spills something down the back!

Bottom line: This is an OEM filter that fits any LG fridge that uses the LT120F filter perfectly.

We've been using it for the last month and it didn't seem to make any difference in removing the smells in the fridge, a little disappointing.

The pricing is the same. I have no problem with this over the past several years. If you buy from maytagfilters.com it will cost more ($35.95 if you buy 3) than the home center pricing ($34.95 for 1), but the AMAZON price is the best around.

days when the filters was behind the refridge., and

was in line and was a mess to change.

The problems that the one of the previous users

was reporting can be avoided by checking the manual

for your fridge for reseting the warning light. It's easy,

once you know how to do it.

And even if you never get the little red light to go out

the filters come with date stickers so you can be reminded

when it's time to change the filter. Add to that the ease

of installation and the effect filtering and you get a product

that functions very well.

I purchased a new home in august that came with a fridge that used one of these filters. I noticed when I would get water from the fridge water dispensers it would always taste metallic. Then one day the change filter light came on so I bought one of these filters and now the water from the fridge tastes great. These things really do work! They are easy to install as well.

NFL Denver Broncos Portable Party Refrigerator

NFL Denver Broncos Portable Party RefrigeratorThis is a great product if you just want to store a few brews. This is not very roomy. I sent it back because I do not think its a good buy for the money. Like most NFL products you are paying for the logos. You can buy a mini fridge with double the room for half the price. It is a good quality product though.

We purchased this Maytag bottom freezer refrigerator at a local big box home improvement store two years ago. I love the style and the convenience of the bottom freezer compared to my old side by side. Two years ago the price was reasonable at $900. I had always equated Maytag with high quality until I owned one. One year into owning this refrigerator it began collecting ice in the back of the freezer then the refrigerator quit working. Since it was only a year old I called a repairman and had to have a part replaced at a price of over $500. The ice maker is tempermental and inconsistently makes ice. Very disappointed. Will not purchase another Maytag appliance. The GE side by side that this replaced was great in comparison as it lasted over 15 years. Wish I had purchased another GE rather than this Maytag.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator in July of 2012. It quit working in October. Maytag repairman did not have the replacement compressor that was needed. Home Depot brought us another refrigerator 10 days later. That refrigerator worked until the beginning of May 2013 (7 months later). Home Depot brought us another refrigerator 7 days later. We contacted Maytag after we received the new refrigerator and they were not willing to send us any compensation for aggravation or loss of food. Their customer service to say the least is non-responsive. We will never buy another Maytag refrigerator and we tell everyone we know not buy a Maytag refrigerator. Maytag had to know these refrigerators were defective and they should have recalled them. Home Depot Appliance manager told us there were multiple customers who had issues with these refrigerators.

There are many manufactures of appliances and our advice would be not to buy maytag!

Doesn't work. I take that back, the lights come on and the motor runs constantly but it doesn't get cold. Isn't that the reason you buy a refridgerator? Coldness? Called Maytag and got a recording, but no call back. Do not buy this product.

Select DA29-0003G Samsung and Whirlpool Compatible Refrigerator Water Filter

Select DA29-0003G Samsung and Whirlpool Compatible Refrigerator Water Filter
  • The Replacement Filter fits all refrigerators that use the Samsung Aqua-Pure Plus DA29-00003B water filter.
  • Retains the flouride in drinking water. Filters out chlorine, turbidity, sediment, dirt, and rust

We ordered this because of the price (compared to Samsung's direct prices). But, the water did not taste good with this filter, unlike with the Samsung filter, which had excellent taste. So, I went back to ordering the real deal.

Not sure why it took so long to get the water cleaned up. White floaty particles.. might not have been the filter.. not sure. Took several gallons to clear up. Gave it 5 stars just in case. Kills the chlorine taste. Have had in service for a month or so. Good value for price. Would buy again.

AVOID PRODUCT

AVOID SELLER

I ordered two of these filters to replace the Frigidaire filter that was supposed to expire in December.

Last week the replace light finally went on and I installed this filter.

Immediately I noticed a bad taste, much like a chlorinated pool, and it constantly produces water that has a huge amount of bubbles.

When I went to find out about a refund, I was told that it was past the time limit. I lost just over $40.00 on this transaction.

First: The filters ARE NOT GENUINE FRIGIDAIRE REPLACEMENTS. THEY ARE COPIES THAT ARE CHEAPLY MADE, TASTE AWFUL AND NOT WORTH 20 CENTS.

Second: IN MY OPINION THE SELLER IS GUILTY OF FRAUDULENTLY REPRESENTING THESE AS FRIGIDAIRE REPLACEMENT FILTERS.

Third: BEWARE, THERE ARE A LOT OF DEALERS SELLING "REPLACEMENT FILTERS" THAT ARE SUB-STANDARD LIKE THESE.

Fourth: Spend the extra bucks and buy the original replacement and AVOID BUYING THEM ON AMAZON if you are buying through the "marketplace" and not directly from Amazon as you will not be able to get a refund.

Swift Green Replacement for GE GSWF Refrigerator Filter, 2-Pack

Swift Green Replacement for GE GSWF Refrigerator Filter, 2-Packthe filters didn't seem to fit so a call their VERY HELPFUL customer service explained that because of copyright issues, they had to redesign the way they connect to the refrigerator... unfortunately, they leak and also do not allow water to flow consistently. Great concept, not so great execution.
