Genius Air Plus Refrigerator Refresher & Deodorizer

Although this gadget is mainly to keep the fridge smelling fresh (and it does), the reason I got it was because of the alarm to alert me when one of the doors doesn't close tightly. I have a three door fridge which I love, but one of the top doors doesn't always close completely. Being ajar even a little allows the light to stay on so the top shelf being nearest the bulb gets warm fast. Because the door is only open a little, I may not notice it and once it was like that all night causing various things to spoil. The fridge seems to know if the door is open for an extended period and turns itself off from perpetually running so that doesn't help either.

When I saw this gadget advertised, the one thing that got my attention was that an alarm would sound if the temp in the fridge got too warm. I couldn't get on the phone fast enough. I've had another temperature sensor that attached to the outside of the fridge with probes that supposedly attached inside with suction cups, but they didn't stick, the wires were in the way, the alarms were hard to set and if the thing did go off, I couldn't figure out how to turn it off without having to reset the whole thing. It wasn't effective and I eventually threw it out.

This thing is great. It takes batteries and shows the temp in the fridge in the little display window. When I open the door I can see what the temperature is easily and have come to expect it to be 38 degrees. There is a setting to have the alarm on or off in case you are cleaning things out and don't want the alarm to sound, but when the switch is on, it will sure enough make a sound loud enough to tell you the door has been open too long and the temp has risen too much. The alarm goes off immediately by itself when you close the door. I love this thing. Since I've been using it I haven't had any bad odors, but then that may just be because there hasn't been anything spoiled in there. I don't know. Maybe it's just working as designed. Produce seems to stay fresh for a good long time so it may be helping with that too. To me, both of those features are just extras. What I wanted was the alarm and I've been delighted that it's so effective. I highly recommend it over other gadgets to alert you to a door left ajar by mistake.

Update: I mistakenly thought the alarm sounded because of temp change sensed by this device, but upon reading the instructions (finally :) I see that the alarm sounds due to a light sensor on the device that knows when the fridge light has been on (therefore door open) for more than 60 seconds.

Of course I was skeptical, it sounded just like any other gimmick gadget. But since it was cheap I decided what the hay, why not give it a try. Well I was pleasantly surprised by the results. No odors whatsoever and my produce is lasting much longer. Paid for itself in weeks. I alos like the alrm to let you know if you left the frig door open, nice added feature.

Kenmore Refrigerator Freezer Door Handle 2206934J

Our fridge is a stainless Kenmore Elite (made by Whirlpool) with dark black sides and what would normally be called 'black' plastic handles & trim. We originally ordered the "black" replacement handle (code B) but had to return it because it was very dark black and didn't match. We reordered the "gray" (this item with the J code) and that color matches. The gray (J) is very dark charcoal gray, however.

It was impossible to tell the color difference from the pictures or the description. Also, both boxes were ripped open at one end (delivered by USPS). The black-black one fell out of the box when I picked it up off the porch. The grey-black one had been wrapped in a bubble wrap bag and jammed back into the box so it wouldn't fall out. They both appeared new but the boxes were clearly cut open before we got them.

This was easy to install and was the exact color not black but almost. Same material and fit as the original Kenmore handle that it came equipped with so no issues. Packaging was a little clunky and the box was torn from shipping...soft cardboard crumpled and rolled up. No damage occurred in shipping that I could tell but a little bit of foam would have been better.

This came in two days, it was not to heavy for me to move around especially because of the way it is packed. It is roomy we fit groceries for two with space to fill, it has an adorable ice tray (really it is cute) everything is frozen or cooled and I am trashing my huge fridge.

One drawback.... There seems to be a buzz in it when the cooler turns on. I have sensitive ears and it is hardly noticeable to me now. I have not contacted anyone, but I am sure if I need to Amazon will do its usually... Help me out quickly and respectfully.

Still love it! If you want a roomy freezer you'll need an extra one.

Arrived promptly and in good condition. Used as basement refrigerator for bar. Front door looks nice, and keeps items cold. It does its job. It is noisy (louder than full size refrigerator in my kitchen) and noticeably louder than the unit that it is replacing (Haier Aficianado Series 4.4cu ft approx. 2006 vintage). Compared to prior unit Haier has definitely cheapened up the product over the years. Finish on exterior, lack of door lock, no interior light, and wire retainers for compartments on door.

Among the least expensive refrigerators of its size, I was pleasantly surprised with the unit. It cools well, is relatively quiet, and has plenty of refrigerator space. The door seals well when closed, and was reversed easily.

Others have reported packaging/shipping issues, but I didn't experience any. The manufacturer's box has 0.5" styrofoam on all four corners and 1" top and bottom. That box was wrapped in bubble-wrap and placed in a larger box which was shipped. All of the (glass) shelves were taped in place and padded so they wouldn't break.

Can't comment on longevity (yet), but everything else is great.

I personally don't have any use for the gallon-jug storage in the door (I bought it for an office environment) but I can see that as a selling point for those who'd buy it for a small apartment.

I use this fridge in my dorm room and it gets the job done. It has a few minor downsides: The freezer portion is rather small. I have only really kept ice in it. I could fit a few other things in there if I needed, but there are probably other products out there for people who want appreciable freezer functionality (this wasn't really what I was looking for, so not a problem for me). The ice cube tray also broke over time. The cubes did not pop out very easily so eventually it cracked and then snapped. It's also smaller than it has to be a larger ice cube tray would fit in the freezer, so that's what I'm buying. Lastly, it does hum when it turns on, which can be somewhat annoying in a dorm room setting.

I was hesitant to purchase this due to one of the other reviews, but I must say that I am very satisfied. It was easy to install, just like the original filter I bought from Sears. Just like the Sears filter, the box tells you to run water through it for about 3 minutes to clear out the loose carbon particles. I filled two large pitchers, and had some noticeable carbon residue in the first pitcher, but the second pitcher was crystal clear.

The water tastes just fine, and is certainly an improvement in taste compared to our tap water.

I would definitely purchase this filter again when the time comes to replace it.

the head will fit with the fridge but the filter diameter is smaller than the original Samsung filter. This meant it is harder to put it in (unlike the original Samsung filter, you will need to turn off the water or otherwise the water will spill out)

Installs with no trouble. Always shut the water supply off, even they say you don't have to . We have a small shut off right behind and a little to the left of our Samsung 28 that is very handy .Twist old filter to the left about 1/4 turn then pull out . Install new filter after wiping the front with clean paper towel ,then install by positioning the filter handle top at the 8'o clock position ,push in straight then turn filter handle to the 12'o clock position , you will feel resistance, but you will know when it is in connect position .Turn the shut off back on , bleed the line , it will sputter at first ( about one gal . or so ). Check for leaks with a flash light . Filter tests better than incoming tap water on my water quality tester . Works for us .

This fridge is great for the money. It works great. Had mine for several months with no issues. The last review is ridiculous. Can you hear it run? Yes of course. It is about half the volume of a computer fan. Unless your sitting next to it you can't hear it. Saying it's louder than a full sized fridge is exaggeration at it's best.

The inner fan is loud and runs non stop. I called the help line to see if this was the norm or if I had a bad unit and I was quickly told that's how they are supposed to be. Based on her quick response I said you must get this complaint a lot. She agreed and said government regulations force them to be made that way. This little cooler is louder than our two full fridges, our mini fridge, and our chest freezer combined.

Anybody who knows about the Culligan filter systems knows just how great they really are. These are SO easy to change I've used the EZ-3 and EZ4 I didn't really notice a difference in the taste or smell of the water between the two. What I did notice is that I'm not paying twice as much for it and it's so much easier to change than my old Aquasana that the only effort involves the fact that it's under the sink. If it were at shoulder level in the open, this would take 10 seconds to change. LOVE these filters, never stop selling them Amazon and Culligan!!
