Makes running the dishwasher a pleasure. I chuckle everytime I turn it. It was exactly what I was looking for when I went on line that day.

Adorable Jack Russell Reminder. It makes it quite obvious as to whether the dishes in the dishwasher are dirty or clean. Even if you can't read, Jack is either sitting right side up with dirty dishes at his feet or right side up with soap bubbles and clean dishes at his feet.

If your a Jack Russell Terrier lover :D, it's a nice addition to your kitchen and hopefully it will keep your family from putting dirty dishes in with the clean ones....though some people are beyond hope. :(

Swift Green Filters SGF-M9 Refrigerator Water Filter

Swift Green Filters SGF-M9 Refrigerator Water FilterI purchased this filter to replace the filter in my Amana AFD2535DEW refrigerator. I contacted the manufacturer prior to purchase to be certain this filter would work with my appliance and was told "absolutely".

Installed according to the packaging directions and the water immediately stopped flowing. I checked the packaging again to make sure the correct filter had been sent and it said right on the side that it was the correct replacement filter for my appliance. So I took it off, tried the old filter to be sure the water flow wasn't the problem. The water flowed through the old filter, so I again tried the Swift Green Filters SGF-M9 Refrigerator Water Filterand again, the water stopped flowing. I contacted the company who told me they couldn't exchange it and that I would have to seek my refund through Amazon.

I shipped the item back immediately and a month and several emails later, I finally received my refund (the company did not report to Amazon that they had gotten my returned item). I chose this filter because of the "green" claims, as well as the price but it ended up being more trouble than it was worth, I ended up replacing the filter with the more expensive one from the manufacturer. Bummer.

This is my second Green filter. They have both worked fine. I see some others have had leak issues, no such problem with my KitchAid.

Kenmore Refrigerator Freezer Door Handle 2206934J

Kenmore Refrigerator Freezer Door Handle 2206934J
  • Dark gray handle
  • Does not fit all Whirlpool or Kenmore refrigerators - research by model number.

Our fridge is a stainless Kenmore Elite (made by Whirlpool) with dark black sides and what would normally be called 'black' plastic handles & trim. We originally ordered the "black" replacement handle (code B) but had to return it because it was very dark black and didn't match. We reordered the "gray" (this item with the J code) and that color matches. The gray (J) is very dark charcoal gray, however.

It was impossible to tell the color difference from the pictures or the description. Also, both boxes were ripped open at one end (delivered by USPS). The black-black one fell out of the box when I picked it up off the porch. The grey-black one had been wrapped in a bubble wrap bag and jammed back into the box so it wouldn't fall out. They both appeared new but the boxes were clearly cut open before we got them.

had to return it because it was the wrong color...they were open to the return though so I gave them 4 stars.

This was easy to install and was the exact color not black but almost. Same material and fit as the original Kenmore handle that it came equipped with so no issues. Packaging was a little clunky and the box was torn from shipping...soft cardboard crumpled and rolled up. No damage occurred in shipping that I could tell but a little bit of foam would have been better.

The handle was supposed to be black but it was a dark gray instead, very noticeable when you have the original side to side with it, annoying. But it did fit without a problem

GE SmartWater Filter Cartridge (MWF, GWF), 2-Pack

GE SmartWater Filter Cartridge, 2-PackThese GE filters are heavy duty and well made and do the job very well. They actually last longer than the 6 months replacment date, so you can get by with longer as I have used them a year before replacing. The only downside of course is the price.

What can I say? I have a GE refrigerator so these are the ones I had to buy. On the plus side, they are filtering the water nicely. We have a water softener but this has helped the tea kettle we keep filling on wood stove from accumulating too much sediment.

We had a fridge that came with a basket like this years ago, and I forgot to take it with us when we bought a new fridge. My eggs sat in the dirty carton, from the store. This neat little item, keeps the eggs in a handy carrier (which is great for when you need to take multiple eggs out, for baking or Easter Egg dying, when taking them out of the fridge). It also allows for a constant site count for your supplies can't see how many you have in a closed carton. Yes, I know that you can cut off the top of the carton, for the same thing, but --this item holds 14 eggs in total and it's CLEAN which is something that the store carton cannot promise when you know that the eggs have been in and out from all sorts of places. When things like raw eggs are involved, I'd prefer to have a nice clean egg carrier for mine. Plus, you can store two extra eggs, in this item a neat little something, for when you have two eggs left, from last weeks shopping trip! :o)

My Mother had one of these egg trays when I was growing up so when I saw this one I had to have it. And I love the convenience of it. It is nice to open the door of my refrigerator and see this tray.

For the first time ever on Amazon I ordered an item and it wasn't what was descirbed. I specificallly wanted a12 egg door tray for my whirlpool fridge. Once i saw it on the amazon site read the reviews and ordered it right away. But once received it was a 14 egg tray which although it is of good quality it didn't fit on the door of the fridge. I went through the process of requesting a return and to my suprise I was given a full refund and shipping refund. Also the company told me I didn't have to return it. So I have it in my fridge which holds only 12 eggs for us each week, but it takes up room in the fridge, and since I need all the extra space I can get this doesnt really help me but I guess It was a nice gesture on the companies part. Thank You?

Cuisinart CWC-600 Private Reserve 6-Bottle Stainless-Steel Countertop Wine Cellar

Cuisinart CWC-600 Private Reserve 6-Bottle Stainless-Steel Countertop Wine Cellar
  • 6-bottle countertop wine cellar in an attractive stainless-steel design
  • Thermoelectric compressor-less cooling technology for quiet operation
  • Controls with 8 presets ensures ideal storing and serving temperatures
  • LED display; 3 removable chrome racks; interior lighting
  • Measures 21-1/2 by 11 by 16 inches; 3-year limited warranty

Good:

* Nice looking, well built

* Digital display with presets for easy temperature setting

* Interior light

Bad:

* Constantly powering on and off every 2 minutes for 20-30 seconds

* Noisy fan while powered on. Louder than a full-sized fridge.

* In the event of a power failure, the unit defaults to the coldest setting (45F) which is a more drastic temperature range than if I left my wine on the counter.

Update: My electric bill went up 157% after plugging in this unit. I would reduce this to zero stars, but Amazon won't let me change my rating.

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!!!!

Buy Cuisinart CWC-600 Private Reserve 6-Bottle Stainless-Steel Countertop Wine Cellar Now

I purchased this unit and, contrary to the other reviewers, am relatively happy with it. The fan noise is louder than expected and you certainly wouldn't want this in a quiet area of the house, but its not objectionable in an already noisy area like the kitchen.

Also, I'd like to clear the air about some of the claims against this unit. Many people are complaining about the power usage, mostly because they hear the fan going off and on a lot. The problem is that people are equating this to a refrigerator which would use a ton of electricity if it cycled on and off this much. But a fridge uses a compressor, and this unit uses a thermoelectric cooling system. Its a VERY different system.

I have a power meter that measures the power usage of an appliance over time. This unit uses 15 watts when the fan is off and about 75 watts when its on. I have it set to 57 degrees F, and my house is at 74 degrees. The amount of cycling I get translates to a cost of about $35 a year to run the thing (at 10 cents a kilowatt hour). Seems pretty reasonable to me.

In a fridge, the ENTIRE system (compressor and fans) cycles on and off based on the interior temperature. Since the interior temperature is fairly stable, it doesn't have to turn on and on much.

I'm not an expert on thermoelectric cooling, but my limited knowledge leads me to believe that its a continuous and proportional cooling system. What that means is that its always electronically moving heat from the inside of the unit to a heat sink on the outside. The amount of heat moved depends on the interior temperature, the exterior temperature, and a voltage setting (you set the voltage when you select the temperature on the control panel).

So the fan on the outside is turned off and on just to cool the heat sink on the back. Since the heat sink heats up and cools down quickly, the fan turns off and on frequently to keep it cool. The fan will be on more if your house is warmer. The "cooling" is always happening whether the fan is on or not. That's why it uses 15 watts when the fan is off.

But, and this is the important part, the fan cycling on and off does NOT indicate a compressor or other cooling element turning off and on, so its not using a ton of electricity. Its just the fan.

Now don't get me wrong, the fan cycling on and off can be annoying depending on the location in the house. But don't mistake that for gobbling up electricity.

Other than the fan noise, its a nice little unit. I measured the temperature inside and compared it to the control panel setting and its spot-on. For most people, if you want to use the lowest setting, 45 degrees, you're better off just using your normal fridge since it should be set at around 40 degrees. But if you're really looking for cellar temperatures of 55 to 65 degrees, this does a great job.

Cuisinart claims this operates quietly. This is not true. The unit has a very noisy fan. The fan comes on every few seconds, runs for a few seconds and then shuts off for a few seconds. This cycle continuosly repeats and needless to say it is very noticeable and annoying. I've followed the directions and tried all the presets but it doesn't seem to matter. What a disappointment from what I thought was a reputable company.

Want Cuisinart CWC-600 Private Reserve 6-Bottle Stainless-Steel Countertop Wine Cellar Discount?

As many of the other reviews say, this unit is not a quality unit. Despite following all instructions the unit runs for 30sec, stops for 30sec and then repeats itself. This is very annoying and I would assume a big drain on electriciy. It has not mattered how cool the room is, where I position the unit, or even what setting I set it to. Even in a 67deg room, the unit runs constantly to keep the internal temp at 57deg. We got this as a gift from my parents, and I called the company to ask if it should be running so much. They asked me to send it back, which cost almost $60 because it had to be specially packaged by UPS to be sure it didn't break. We got a new unit and it still runs the same way. I haven't been able to get the company to refund the money I spent to ship the first unit back and they keep giving me the run around, acting like it is something that I am doing to make the unit run constantly. Very disappointed in a company that I thought was high quality.

This is my 2nd attempt at writing a review of this product. We were genuinely excited when we purchased this particular unit. That excitement quickly faded as we learned that it has serious design flaws.

1st: The troubleshooting section states:

The inside temperature does not seem correct The room may be too hot. Example: if the ambient temperature is 80*F or higher, the unit can have difficulty chilling adequately on the white wine setting.

The white wine setting should be about 45*F according to the users manual. Having said that, I took the temperature where the unit is. It is 78*F (I live in Southern AZ where it is hot for 8 months out of 12). I first tried to set the wine cooler temp to 52*F. No dice, the display continued to flash indicating that it was not reaching that temp.

I tried setting it to 58*F. No dice. The display continued to flash. I tried setting it to 65*F. Still no dice.

The other major problem is that as others have reported, the unit will build up quite a bit of condensation on the inside bottom of the unit. It built up so much that it spilled out onto the counter where we have the unit.

I emailed Cuisinart about the problems. I even took a picture of the unit with a digital thermometer on top of the unit clearly showing the room temp to be 78*F. The unit display was blank indicating that it was flashing meaning that it could not reach the set temperature. I had the unit set to 65*F.

I went back and forth with their customer service. They kept giving me canned nonsense answers, and did not read my original email at all. After many back and forth, they finally agreed to replace the unit.

However, after reading some of the other reviews, I am NOT confident that the replacement unit will be any better. If it has problems, I am going to demand a full refund. I doubt that I will get one, but I will demand it anyway.

It is a shame that the unit is so problematic. We have a Cuisinart knife set, and could not be happier with it. The same goes for my Cuisinart coffee maker.

SquareTrade 3-Year Appliance Protection Plan ($125-150)

SquareTrade 3-Year Appliance Protection PlanIt is unfortunate when your favorite kitchen gadget stops working. However, I can't complain when I get a refund on the purchase price of the item. I bought a Square Trade warranty for my Zojirushi Bread Maker. It was an expensive item $148.00 before shipping and tax and I decided it was worth $20.00 to give myself an additional 3 years beyond the manufacturer's warranty. Square Trade really has their act together. I received a response to my email claim in less than 24 hours. The website is very user friendly. You can upload your receipts for the items you purchase. The process is very streamlined. My item could not be repaired and I was given several pay out payment options, which was very cool. I could have chosen an option to get an Amazon credit and I would have gotten an additional 5% added to my pay out. I decided on a PayPal option and the money was in my account in 24 hours. I am very pleased with this company. Extended warranty companies have gotten bad press for years. This company is far and above the other companies and should not be lumped in with the others. The documentation is very clear on what will and will not be covered. There are no surprises. They run specials all the time so you can always get a warranty at a discounted price. I have purchased warranties from Square Trade for several of my electronic items and highly recommend that you consider adding a warranty to any of your electronic gadgets you purchase in the future.

I have had 4 products protected with their warranty and

had two claims, one a dehumidifier and the other a Canon copier,

they refunded the price paid for both without any problem

or complicated paper work. They did what they said they

would do, excellent company.

Fortunately, my warranty was for 3 years. While this item began experiencing problems within 1 year after purchasing, I chose to wait until this summer to call SquareTrade about a solution. This item would cost more to repair than it would to replace, so I received a refund for the entire purchase price. I briefly spoke with a customer service representative over the telephone who informed me about the quickest processing methods. My refund arrived through PayPal a few days after SquareTrade received my paperwork. I am very happy and intend to purchase additional warranties through SquareTrade in the future.

VinoView Silent 35 Bottle Wine Display Refrigerator

VinoView Silent 35 Bottle Wine Display Refrigerator
  • Concave Door for Upright Storage
  • Silent Cooling Technology
  • Temperature range: 54-66F
  • Digital Controls w/temperature display
  • 35 Bottle Capacity

I purchased this over two weeks ago and the set up was very easy. It doesn't make much noise at all since it is thermo electric. It also doesn't produce that much heat, although I have kept it in my living room which has a very high ceiling and it takes a lot to heat up that room.

I installed it and powered it on and immediately turned off the lights. They look like a airport runway indeed!

It took less than two hours for the temperature to reach 58 degrees after loading the bottles for the first time. The ambient temperature these days is about 72 or so.

I have to yet experiment with the temperature control etc. but it seems to keep the wines at the perfect temperature and drinking wine is fun again.

The only problem I have with this cooler is the racks and how tough it is to squeeze in bottles. Also the fan at the back makes some bottles on the top three racks to stick out a little bit so that the horizontal space for three bottles (you see in the picture here) is almost unusable. So I am not able to put 35 bottles in there, but that is okay. Also being able to keep opened bottles vertically is a big plus.

Overall I am pretty satisfied with this purchase.

Buy VinoView Silent 35 Bottle Wine Display Refrigerator Now

I bought this wine cooler a couple of years ago, mainly because of its ability to store an opened bottle upright. This feature is about the only positive quality of this refrigerator. It's very noisy and seems to be running most of the time. Also, the temperature has never gotten below the low 60s. The display reads that the temperature is 56 degrees, but other thermometers do not agree with that. Don't waste your money. We have two wine coolers right next to this one that are quiet, maintain 55 degrees, cost less than this one, and hold more bottles.

Buy this with the understanding that it's disposable, because when it goes, which mine did after four years, Wine Enthusiast told me that the parts are no longer manufcatured. They told me to call an on-line parts "remanufacturer", dismantle my refrigerator, send them my existing parts, wait several months, pay > $80 plus shipping, and reassemble my wine refrigerator, and I'd have a one year warranty on the replacement part. Or they'd be happy to sell you a new one.

My GE wine refrigerator is still plugging along after six years. You get what you pay for.

Want VinoView Silent 35 Bottle Wine Display Refrigerator Discount?

Updated review after 18 months ownership and still very satisfied upgraded to 5 stars.

It is quiet, but not completely silent as suggested by the name of the product. I have it in my living room and the slight hum is not bothersome at all and definitely much quieter than a regular refrigerator. Upon first use, it cooled very quickly, probably too quickly for the good of my wine and so I'd recommend to others to set the target temp high at first and then gradually lower it until you get to the desired temperature.

So far as storage capacity goes it is quite remarkable. Fitting 35 bottles in such a smaller cooler is amazing. However, getting all 35 in does take a bit of experimenting. While at first glance it may appear that most wine bottles are the same shape you quickly learn with this cooler that they are not. It is designed for standard Bordeaux size bottles but you may find that you have a couple that are not that standard shape. If so, it takes a bit of experimenting to get the best layout to maximize storage. The doors and the horizontal hangers are the best place for non standard. If you put the non standard bottles on the racks it is very difficult to remove them without scraping some of the label off unless remove the shelf above it first. I decided to leave the racks in to maximize storage. While I did not experience the issue of the fan getting in the way as reported by another reviewer, I can definitely see how it would happen depending upon the shape of your bottles. However, for standard Bordeaux size bottles there is no problem at all. Also, if you have wine shipped to you or subscribe to a wine club you are in luck as they have the same challenge shipping non standard size bottles so they will almost certainly only ship Bordeaux.

I have owned it for some time now and have learned how to fill it without a problem. I can now easily get full storage and no scraped labels.

I upgraded my review to 5 stars from my prior 4 stars as I'm now used to fitting bottles in it and now never have a problem filling it. I also learned to really like the fact that you can store open bottles vertically in the door. Open bottles once vacuum pumped last well overnight or a bit longer depending upon how long you left the bottle open before pumping it.

So far as temperature goes, it keeps a steady temp. I picked up a cheap thermometer and put it in the refrigerator just to double check the temperature. It does a good job.

Overall, this is a very good wine cooler, with excellent storage for the size, it quiet, good price and would recommend to others. The one concern I had about non standard bottles goes away once you have packed it a few times and get used to how to do it and the vast majority of wine bottles are Bordeaux size anyway and so there no problem with those.

I purchased a VinoView 35* Bottle Wine Display Refrigerator from Wine Enthusiast almost 5 years ago.

The VinoView unit cannot be placed in an enclosure, because it vents in the back, so it is free standing in my family room. It is quiet, although not silent, but certainly much quieter than my conventional compressor equipped under-counter wine refrigerator of approximately the same size. It also uses less energy than the conventional wine refrigerator, although it doesn't have quite as much cooling capacity. However, it has been able to maintain an interior temperature of about 58 60°F most of the time.

The claimed capacity is 35 bottles, that is rather optimistic. The rack space is tight, and slightly oversize or heavier bottles do not fit well. Having the ability to store opened bottles upright in the door is convenient.

The interior lighting was an interesting novelty at first: it has lights around the door, and lights inside the cabinet. After a while, I turned them off.

Unfortunately, the unit died recently. I disconnected it to clean it and when I reconnected it, it didn't work. So far, I haven't been able to find anyone to repair it. So I have spent $400 on an appliance that lasted not quite 5 years.

***update***

The wine refrigerator had stopped working last month after I unplugged it and moved it around in order to clean around and behind it -clearly, it was my wife's fault for making me clean my family room the day before our SuperBowl party :-). When I plugged it back in, a fuse on the controller board blew. I tried replacing the fuse, but the replacement blew as well, so I figured that there was a short somewhere that was triggered by moving the unit around.

A few days later, I contacted Wine Enthusiast customer service. After a lengthy conversion, during which he informed me that the expected lifetime of these types of thermoelectric refrigerators is only about 3-5 years, I decided to throw good money after bad, so I elected to purchase a replacement logic board for $50 (the customer service agent comped the shipping charge). Installing the new board was fairly simple (the old board had two soldered connections and several plug in connectors; the new board replaced the soldered connection with a quick disconnect that I crimped on after desoldering the wires from the old board). Now my VinoView wine refrigerator is working again.

I knew that I was taking a gamble in sinking another $50 into this unit to try to get it working; while it seems to have paid off, at least for now, there's no telling how long it will continue to run. If it works for another year, it will have been worth the repair cost, but either way I'm not going to invest any more time or money into it.

I am rather disappointed that the customer service agent at Wine Enthusiast (who was very polite and helpful) informed me about the limited expected operational lifetime of this unit only after I had contacted them with a problem. When I originally bought it, some 5 years ago, there was no mention of this limitation, either in the catalog or on their website. I'm quite sure that if I had been told of this prior to my purchase, I would not have bought it. expect that most other people would do the same.
