An extra freezer is nice to have. This doesn't cost too much, doesn't burn much electricity, and it's front loading.

Although they mention this in the manual, they could make the product a bit more idiot proof by placing a sticker on it, or adding a an extra grill on the back, or something. Generally, you can place a refrigerator up against the wall without a problem, so it's natural to assume you can with a freezer as well.

The Avanti Compact Freezer is exactly that compact. It fit nicely into a 22 inch wide space. Inside, there are three shelves the top two have a depth of 13 inches, the bottom shelf is a disappointing 8 1/2 inch depth because of the motor.

The door opens on the left, but can be changed by calling a customer service number for directions. Noise is moderate. The unit is lightweight and easy to move about. Temperature can be set 1 4. I have had the freezer for one week set on 3 with no problems. Negatives? Upon initial plug in, a strong chemical odor came from the back of the unit. Seven/eight days later, I can occasionally still smell that odor. Overall, this is a nice little freezer.

Yes fellow shoppers I love this freezer though compact it holds plenty of food, runs quietly barely any sound, and best of all for me

it does not take up a lot of space, and doesn't freezer burn food like my old freezer did. It looks as you see it in the picture, and

Due to a defect in the first product rec'd I had to try and get an exchange. After failing with emails, I was delighted to finally talk to a real person at ABT by the name of Colleen. She was very, very helpful and helped me the best she could. When I was about to go try and find packing materials to try and repack the freezer, a gentleman by the name of "Mike" called and came to my rescue. He had another freezer shipped and I used that packing to repack the defective unit. Thank you to Abt for their wonderful help and assistance. This is one "elderly" person who appreciated being treated as a human being and not a number! Cudos to ABT!!!

This unit was poorly packaged, and it was delivered with the cardboard bottom completely broken away. However, there was no obvious damage, and the freezer works excellent. Now how about making a frost-free model why is that so difficult in a half-size unit?

GE WR57X10033 Water Valve for Refrigerator

If you're planning on using this thing for anything other than making ice, you may be disappointed.

This valve can only be cycled "on" for six seconds before needing three minutes time off, otherwise it overheats and becomes useless.

GE abbreviates seconds as " (as in cartography) on their part, but spells out minutes. Both I and an electrician friend assumed that the " was just a typo and that it just needed three minutes downtime for every six minutes it was on. Not true. The part lasted about three minutes before dying.

So, if you have plans of a gravity-fed plant-watering system that just needs one 1/4" tube fitting solenoid to work properly, this is not your part. If you need something for your GE refrigerator's ice-maker, I'm sure you'll be as happy with this thing's performance.

The item in question is a solenoid, an electrically operated water valve. It sits in back of the refrigerator and provides water, on demand by the ice maker. The unit I purchased was the exact replacement (both functionally and close enough fit), though slightly different in looks. The price was lower than most products that could do the job. Swift Green Filters SGF-M9 Refrigerator Water Filter

I purchased this filter to replace the filter in my Amana AFD2535DEW refrigerator. I contacted the manufacturer prior to purchase to be certain this filter would work with my appliance and was told "absolutely".

Installed according to the packaging directions and the water immediately stopped flowing. I checked the packaging again to make sure the correct filter had been sent and it said right on the side that it was the correct replacement filter for my appliance. So I took it off, tried the old filter to be sure the water flow wasn't the problem. The water flowed through the old filter, so I again tried the Swift Green Filters SGF-M9 Refrigerator Water Filterand again, the water stopped flowing. I contacted the company who told me they couldn't exchange it and that I would have to seek my refund through Amazon.

I shipped the item back immediately and a month and several emails later, I finally received my refund (the company did not report to Amazon that they had gotten my returned item). I chose this filter because of the "green" claims, as well as the price but it ended up being more trouble than it was worth, I ended up replacing the filter with the more expensive one from the manufacturer. Bummer.

This is my second Green filter. They have both worked fine. I see some others have had leak issues, no such problem with my KitchAid.

This refrigerator was purchased via Amazon Prime for use on a boat. This is a heavy item that I received overnight for $3.99 shipping--absolutely amazing service from Amazon. I was horrified to find that it did not work right off the bat but I received a same-day response from the manufacturer and they walked me through a procedure that got it up and running. Apparently, one of the electrical connectors sometimes detaches in shipping but can be easily reattached with some guidance. The refrigerator has worked perfectly since then (three months continuous use). Overall, this has performed as needed and I have been really pleased with the service from both the manufacturer and Amazon.

The Norcold outside fridge in my motorcoach failed after 10 years of dedicated service. The cost to replace it was unrealistically high so I gave this Whynter unit a try. Same 65 quart capacity and features but at 1/3 the cost.

Installation took ~2 hours as I needed to drill new mounting holes in my storage bays slide out tray and had to modify the feet on the new fridge so it could be bolted down. The feet have 5/16-18 threads so I used standard bolts with 3/4" rubber washers to make isolation feet.

The side mounted LED display can be hard to read in direct sunlight but the good news is once you set the temp it remembers even when unplugged for several weeks. Plug her back in and the unit cools down in just a few hours. Nothing like a 34 degree cold one after setting up camp.

So far so good. We use this as a spare refrigerator for our outdoor bar plus we take it on camping trips with us. Its better than any cooler (don't have to worry about refilling ice) and it keeps my beer and water bottles frosty cold. I would recommend this to anyone who needs an outdoor refrigerator as well as a spare refrigerator during any trip. I have not used in a freezer capacity so I have no idea how well it works for keeping things frozen.

We have used this as a freezer 2 times to freeze fish. We left it inside the the camper both times. It worked great. The fish was frozen and the unit was not noisy.

The FM-65G was received on time and very well packaged. A couple of bruises on the outside of the over pack but completely preserved on the inner pack. A quick read of the owners manual. and it was off and running. I ran it on both A/C and DC for approximately 2 hrs each. I did not try the Fast freeze function, but did set the thermostat for 8 deg. F (well below freezing) and it got there very quickly. Noise is not much above ambient and conversations around the unit would not be affected by the running noise. I must say that the whole unit exudes quality, both parts, construction and overall finish. Very impressive at first sight with the overall look of the unit. I almost hate to take it out for the first time camping as it is really good looking for a piece of camp gear. 500 bucks for a portable fridge/freezer-you bet and worth it. Hope I didn't jinx myself with the positive air of this review. I will update further as we are taking off in a week for an extended Southern Arizona trek, during the winter season.

We have a stacked Maytag Maxima 6000 series washer and dryer. The doors open opposite directions (the washer is hinged on the left and the dryer on the right). When the two are side by side, that is a smart way to open the doors washer on the left, dryer on the right, open both doors and clothes can be passed from washer to dryer easily.

Ah, but when they are stacked, that arrangement is a pain. Well, unlike refrigerators, Maytag made this hinge a little complicated to switch. This "kit" is required.

This "kit" is a single piece of plastic trim that fits inside the door, between the outer and inner trim piece. Yes, it's an expensive piece of plastic and seems all wrong to have to buy that, but that's the design.

The trim piece comes with step by step instructions in English and French. Two tools are required, a #2 Philips head screw driver and a T25 Torx screw driver. While waiting for this part to ship, it's a good idea to get the T25 Torx screw driver they are easy to find now. Any length will work fine they recommend an 8 inch version, but any size will do. I used a small rechargeable driver with a Torx bit and a cordless drill with the Philips bit for disassembly.

There are only a few minor tricks to the switch. It took me about 15 minutes to do the job, start to finish. The first scary part was removing the 4 Torx screws that hold the door hinge there is a hooked tab that holds up the door once the screws are removed (no need to have an assistant hold the door). After that it's really straight forward removing the Philips head screws. Pay attention to removing only Philips head screws (the instructions said 17, I only had 14 on my door). There are some smaller Torx screws that are not removed. To remove the inner door trim, there is a sort of tab arrangement at the top and bottom, a little persuasion with my hand released one of the tabs, then the panel separated easily. All the rest is really simple. The trim piece from this "kit" replaces the trim piece already installed on the door.

Now my wife is super happy, both doors swing the same direction and it is much easier to transfer laundry from the washer to the dryer.

This kit solved my problem which was that I wanted my washer and dryer's set up the way my hook ups were, dryer on the left, washer on the right. Now my doors open outward which means you can open both and just transfer from one to the other without using a basket and closing a door.

I consider myself good at following written directions, but halfway through the process of installing this I felt lost. A few minutes later, it all worked out. I don't know why they couldn't have designed the part to flip over or, if that was too difficult, why they didn't just include the 50 cents of plastic with the $1000 appliance.

This piece worked very well and was not too difficult to install. It took a little time but was fairly simple. It is a lot to pay for a piece of plastic, but is required to reverse the door on this dryer. Reversing it was such a great thing as my washer and dryer are stacked. I no longer bump my head or shoulders while doing the laundry. Worth getting.

I bought this refrigerator in July 2012. The space inside is incredible. LG is the only one with this innovative ice maker design that frees up the space inside. The downside is that you get less ice available. For me, this was a good tradeoff as I don't use ice that much. However, I will probably have to buy ice the next time I host a large party. I purchased a very precise refrigerator thermometer from Amazon, the "Thomas Traceable Big-Digit Ultra Refrigerator Thermometer," to see if the refrigerator was really keeping things as cold as it claimed. It was not. I suspect this is a problem on most modern refrigerators. Manufacturers want to get ultra high efficiency ratings, so they probably test under ideal conditions. I was able to get the desired 36 degrees Fahrenheit temperature by setting the fridge to 33 degrees and the freezer to -3 degrees instead of the default 36F/-1F settings. I am very happy with this refrigerator and I hope it will continue to give me excellent performance.

We like our GE "French Door" fridge. It looks good and works fine. But don't think of getting it without the insurance plan. We've had to replace the central "brain". We've had to replace a door latch. We are getting ready now to call for a new shelf and crisper track because both have broken.

I would guess that without the insurance we would soon have put as much in repairs as we paid for the fridge. However, ours was a brand new model, and perhaps they have worked some of the bugs out. We love it. We really have no complaints. Just be sure you take the insurance when it's offered. And you can be sure we'll be renewing our policy when it expires. The service has been excellent.

This unit has 4 plastic rollers that are fixed in place and can not be adjusted. There are 2 leveling legs on the front of the unit only. Very frustrating to try and level this unit with only 2 legs. If you already have perfectly level floors then this may work for you, but other than using shims it can not be leveled side to side or back to front.

We have had this fridge for less than 1 year and so far we have had the repairman out 3 times. This is the most tempermental fridge I have ever owned. The previous review is right do not even THINK about buying this without a service plan. So far it has frozen (and ruined) lots of produce. Once that got fixed the icemaker overflowed water into the bottom of the freezer (until I shut off the water). The spicket freezes where you cannot get water out of it (in the fridge) and you have to jack up the temperature just to get it to thaw so that you can get water from it again. When the guy was out last week he replaced the whole ice maker. Once he left it started making this horrible sound like it is trying to make ice or dump ice but cannot. So I'm waiting on them to come out AGAIN to fix that. HORRIBLE do NOT buy it.

Ridiculous! We've had one of thse for about 6 months. Over this period the doors haven't been fully closed four times, and no-one heard the "door alarm" (in at least two cases it had mysteriously turned itself "off"). And guess what: the intense tungsten bright interior lights (indeed Edison's 125 y/o old discovery) remain on. These 2 high intensity bulbs dump at least 50 watts of heat into the interior for as long as the doors remain even slightly open. When discovered, the temperature indicator has shown the interior temp to be in the high 60 to 70 degrees F,, 30 degrees below the "norm",40 degrees F.

First: in this day and age of cool lighting sources, in this high-priced box, what kind of idiot would specify such ancient lighting in a refrigerator -(quoting the owner's manual, "caution the light bulbs may be hot" hot enough to burn you within a few minute, I discovered). Ridiculous!!

As well, why is it even possible to turn off the so-called door alarm? it's barely audibleanyway, and delays three minutes (un-adjustable, of course!) before it begins to emit it's pathetic peep. Thus whoever left it open is long gone by then.

Where's the wisdom here?? Earth to General Electric: you've been demoted... to Private Electric imho

I have the Samsung fridge this filter is supposed to be made for... and it did not fit properly in the filter dispenser. I tried several times to get it to fit, but it would not lock in correctly. i got 2 of these swift green filters for my Samsung BARB255 fridge. It takes a bunch of fiddling to even get the thing to lock into place properly. Even after managing to get it secured, the filter did not work at all.

I followed the instructions of soaking them first, but all to no avail. Two filters totally DOA.

These filters constantly would not lock in place and keep popping off. When you do manage to keep one in place, it leaks steadily. I tried soaking them in water for 15 minutes prior to installing as indicated on the filters but didn't have any luck. I got a pack of three and all of them were worthless.

I'm adding a special note about the packing because of R. Sayre's bad experience with doors getting ripped off. Mine, shipped from Amazon to here in Hawaii, was protected by styrofoam in an inner box, then that was suspended with foam corner offsets and more styrofoam panels within a larger box. And it arrived undamaged.

My old Vinotemp, Vinotemp VT-12TEDS-2Z Dual Zone Thermoelectric Wine Cooler, 12-Bottle, which broke at 16 months, was so cramped inside that getting a 1.5 liter or a tall Alsace/Mosel bottle into the fridge was difficult, but this model is much roomier inside, and it lets you stand some bottles upright, if you want to. I wouldn't want to put as many as 15 bottles in it, though. Unless you remove both shelves, I don't think you could get in more than 4 overly tall bottles standing up across the front. With the middle shelf removed, but the top shelf kept in and holding 4 standard sized bottles, I can fit 3 1.5 liter bottles standing up in front on the bottom, and additional standard bottles standing up behind them.

This unit replaces a small Avanti thermoelectric cooler, which while quiet, regularly blew its electrolytic capacitors. In comparison, this unit is a little bit of an upgrade, having a better control panel for the temperature. It is a little noisy, but only to be expected.

I tried twice with this order, and Amazon was quick with the replacement. But both coolers were destroyed during shipping. Had it survived shipping, the cooler appeared nice (though not rugged) and looked like it would serve my purposes (I particularly liked the flexible configuration and apparent capacity to hold longer/fatter bottles by standing them up. But there was very little cushioning in the packaging. Consequently the door was shattered / torn off the hinge when it arrived in both orders. Guess I'll look for it in a physical store. I wouldn't ordinarily downgrade for a shipping problem, but unless they change the packaging (or unless UPS handles the box with extraordinary delicacy), I don't think there's a likelihood yours will arrive intact. I order a lot from Amazon, and this is the first time I've run into a problem like this with a product.

Maytag MSD2572VEB 25.2 cu. ft. Side by Side Refrigerator - Black

This refrigerator was purchased on 11/13/2011. The unit is quiet and energy efficient but when crushing ice -forget about it, it's noisy as hell aside from the fact that the ice falls all over the place as the ice chute dispenser is too wide for any cup or water glass, you have to place your index finger over the chute to keep the ice chips from falling to the ground. Oh...which reminds me, the ice crusher is no longer working after 4 months only dispenses full cubes, having it serviced this week. Button selector from the panel is clunky and "toy-ish" something I'd expect from my daughter's easy back oven....lol Drawers are also not easy to slide in and out, not smooth gliding at all.... would I purchase again? Probably not, but for $799 for a side-by-side, what would you expect? But from Maytag, I expected much better.
