Vinotemp VT-WINEDISP2 2 Bottle Wine Dispenser, Black

For various reasons I attempted to setup 2 of these side by side (one for whites, one for reds). The first two showed up quickly (thanks Amazon Prime!) and neither functioned. One was smashed beyond recognition (door sheered off its hinges, top crushed, side panel metal bent and curled over at the top). The shipping and product boxes were fine so it must've been packed that way. Thanks Amazon returns.

The second unit turned on and refrigerated but didn't dispense. The manual only says, "Change the gas cylinder and if that doesn't work, inspect the solenoid." I changed the gas canister and that didn't work, and I didn't feel like prying the unit apart to find a solenoid and 'inspect it somehow.' Vinotemp customer service never returned my calls. When I did finally get through to someone they seemed baffled by the problem, took my name and phone number, and after a couple days, they haven't called me back. Now using Amazon Prime again to return and replace the item.

The first replacement unit did work just fine. Chilled AND dispensed. Easy to use and setup and maintain. The compressor and fan do make a fair amount of noise so you may not want this in an area where you expect some quiet. I'll update if the 2nd replacement unit doesn't work, at which point both will go back in favor of lower tech and cheaper alternatives.

The second unit arrived and functioned just fine. Both have been happily humming along for a little over a month. They are a bit loud when the compressor is running, and the front lights keep a room pretty well lit when dark, but the wines are lasting 1-2 weeks and I love the convenience. Worthwhile...if you get broken units just keep returning them until you get working ones. Fingers crossed these will last a good long time.

I bought the Vinotemp in October 2012 thinking it would be a nice addition to my bar set up and a convenient, allbeit expensive, way to preserve a nice bottle of wine for more than a few days.

My initial observations upon unwrapping the package:

1) My unit has been opened and possibly used before. In fact, the nitrogen cartridge was already installed and probably half full, though I don't know for sure as replacing it was one of the trouble-shooting techniques I describe below.

2) Looks nice. Probably too large to fit under most cabinets, but if you've got some space, it certainly adds some sophistication to an unsophisticated wine display

3) Plug it in, turn it on, set the temp...mine works. Woo hoo!

I diligently cleaned out the hoses in the contraption, particularly since, as noted above, the unit had probably been used before. This entailed using the already-installed nitrogen cartridge to pump warm water from empty wine bottles through the dispenser system. The system hooked up to the bottle nicely and the water flowed through with no problems.

I was especially excited about the machine because it would give me the flexibility to compare two different vintages of Twomey I'd saved for this occassion without having to worry about 3/4 of each bottle going to waste. I opened up the 2007 Merlot and 2008 Merlot and poured a glass of each before attaching the 2 bottles to the machine. I enjoyed the wine in the glasses I initially poured, but when I went back for a few more ounces of each, this time dispensed from the machine, I noticed a distinctly different bouquet and flavor the wines that were full and sweet and alive out of the bottle seemed empty and fruitless and lifeless out of the machine.

I've tried troubleshooting, but have observed that, in my experiments, the only variable that causes good wines to become lifeless and fruitless is the fact that it's dipensed from the machine. Some of the things I've tried with different bottles to mitigate this effect include:

1) Letting the wine breathe longer before attaching it to the machine.

2) Changing out the nitrogen cartridge

3) Changing the temperature setting

4) Cleaning the system diligently -again

5) Running the wine out of the machine through a Vinturi into my glass

So, conclusion (A) is that my machine is easy to use and looks nice, but is severly detrimental to the quality of the wine.

The next disappointing conclusion I've drawn, conclusion (B), is that this machine does not preserve wine any longer than the cheap wine preserver vacuum pump kits. This unit is advertised to preserve wine up to 45 days, although maybe all of the advertisements have gotten it wrong and left the '-' that should be between the '4' and the '5' out. I got it shipped Prime (I am an Amazon Mom member) and it arrived on schedule, in perfect condition. I did move the door so that it opens right to left (because of the limited space I have to place it) and that was relatively easy to do. There were no dents, and I do not have any problems with the motor sound. I was careful to read all directions and note that it cautions you not to plug it in for 24 hours if it was tilted more than 45 degrees in transport (mine was) and also to start it on Level 4 for 24 hours before you choose a setting at which to leave it. Perhaps the other reviewers did not note that in the directions and stressed the motor before it got a chance to become operational. It is spacious, looks nice and clean, and meets my needs. It was a great product for the price. If it develops any problems later, I will update my review.

This little fridge deserves a review, so I am stepping in on its behalf. This fridge has worked fine for a few months now. I doubt it will ever freeze anything but I only use it to keep drinks cold on the outside deck anyway.

I took off one star because one of the components in the back had a dent in it on delivery. Who knows if that will become important at some point.... and because I wish it would get a little colder. On the other hand I like it so much I may get another and stack them.

Update almost a year later (August 2011). It made it through a hot summer outside and kept all my drinks nice and cold. So I changed the rating to 5 stars because it deserves it.

Update almost 2 years later (July 2012). Still working great! Outside. It was 100 degrees this week. Took a soda can out and it was fine.

First, the back of the fridge where the compressor is located is completely open without a back. Second, I had the thing for 3 days and it started making a noise like someone that was snoring. One week later, it made another noise, on top of the original noise that sounded like waves rolling in and out. Then 2 weeks later, a third noise like a buzz saw...it was a symphony of noise. Not to mention when it clicked off...it made a loud "CLINK". This refrigerator is inexpensive, but it is NOT worth it at all. It got so loud that I had to move it to another room, I am returning it, luckily all of this happened within the 30 days of purchase.

worth every penny we paid for this. it is an excellent second refrigerator that we put in our garage for mostly bottles, cans, and galon jugs of tea, water, etc. it is also good for overfolw from main refrgerator, when company comes over. keeps food and drinks really cold, and the little ice maker compartment/freezer works really well. it has a door on the freezer comaqrtment, soit actusally does keep things in a frozen state. It is a goodbuy forthe money.

I decided to replace my barn refrigerator when it died with this item. I had recycled old full sized refrigerators which held up fairly well but were not energy efficient. This size is adequate for cold drinks and a few vials of vaccines or medications. The frig arrived via fed ex in two days. It is very quiet and a welcome addition to the barn. I purchased this model from the AJ Madison web site not amazon and I am completely satisfied. There was no shipping charges unlike amazon wanted a little $200 for shipping. I received my fridge in 2 days and couldn't be happier with it.

The amount of storage on this thing is awesome and it looks very well made and quiet for what I paid for it.

I bought this model at Best Buy in May, 2011. I was given a one week shipping window 3-4 weeks later, June 14 21. I don't know the exact date that it was delivered and neither did Frigidaire or Best Buy. It quit cooling June 21, 2012 at 9:00 in the evening. I waited to call until the next day. The only appliance repair place that the automated Frigidaire system had for my zip code never returned my two calls. I left messages on their answering machine for two consecutive days. I tried another town's zip code and was able to get someone out to take a look at it two days later. He said that it probably had had a slow leak since it was manufactured. He also said that it would be hard to find the hole since it was such a slow leak. He recommended that I call another repair company that was good with this type of problem. I called and a woman took down my information and said that she would give me a call back in a couple of hours. I never received a call, so the next day I called Frigidaire, again determined to talk to a human. After being on hold for a very long time, I was able to speak to someone. When I gave her the details, she told me that the refrigerator wasn't under warranty because I had waited to call until the following day. If I had called the night before it would have been under warranty. I asked to talk to her supervisor. After a long wait, she came back on the line and said that her manager had agreed to pay for the parts. I was told that parts were usually 75% of the repair bill. When I called the repair shop back, that was supposedly good with this type of problem, I was told the bill for labor would be $850-1500. She suggested that I should just throw it away and buy a new one. One day out of the one year manufacturers warranty! No one would have been there if I had called that night! Shame on Frigidaire!

I have the Samsung fridge this filter is supposed to be made for... and it did not fit properly in the filter dispenser. I tried several times to get it to fit, but it would not lock in correctly. Water leaked out into the fridge in a small stream. I replaced the Green Filter with my old Samsung filter and the leak stopped. I am off to buy a Samsung filter. Very disappointed.

i got 2 of these swift green filters for my Samsung BARB255 fridge. It takes a bunch of fiddling to even get the thing to lock into place properly. Even after managing to get it secured, the filter did not work at all.

I followed the instructions of soaking them first, but all to no avail. Two filters totally DOA.

These filters constantly would not lock in place and keep popping off. When you do manage to keep one in place, it leaks steadily. I tried soaking them in water for 15 minutes prior to installing as indicated on the filters but didn't have any luck. I got a pack of three and all of them were worthless.

Bought this to match the stove top and built in oven when updating kitchen appliances. The first one we ordered had to be returned due to an error that we kept getting about keypad short. Now just under the 1 year warranty the microwave has completely died. We were boiling water for pasta and when I opened the door the light flickered and dimmed then just shut down. I unplugged the microwave and tried to power on next day and still will not work.

I saw another review where the service tech told them the steam shorts out the keypad. Really GE? It is an over the counter microwave and people boil water.

I have GE service coming in a couple days and will want to know what they have to say. Regardless I would avoid this microwave. A shame too as it looks great and is very functional when it works.
