Frigidaire 5303282284 Freezer Shelf for Refrigerator

Frigidaire 5303282284 Freezer Shelf for RefrigeratorI just moved into a new townhome and discovered that my freezer shelf was missing. After conducting some research I discovered that this was the shelf that I was missing, so I ordered it. This is not the right shelf, and, even if it were, it would be useless. It is tiny, so tiny, in fact, that nothing could really fit underneath it. After looking into alternates and actually measuring my freezer I did find the right shelf. The moral of the story is this: don't believe everything the internet tells you.

The product was much smaller/less substantial than I was expecting considering the price point. We ended up buying a seemingly bigger/better product for a fraction of the price.

GE WR57X10050 Water Valve for Refrigerator

GE WR57X10050 Water Valve for RefrigeratorMuch cheaper to order the part from here than the company. And not hard to replace by yourself. 5 Stars

The valve is precisely the right one for our fridge which, due to failure of the original valve (6 years old) resulted in a massive icemaker leak and flood. A repairman said the icemaker needed replacement and probably the motherboard, but I tried to use the KISS principle and Kept It Simple Stupid. I first replaced the least expensive element, which solved the problem of continuously flowing water far more cheaply than the repairman's suggestion (which wouldn't have helped at all). As it turned out, after studying available documentation I was also able to repair the icemaker by re-engaging a spring to a cam (disengagement prevented proper operation of the ice sensing horizontal-sweep arm which thus initiated operation of the failing valve that did not shut off water flow). After a number of months, the replacement valve continues to operate as expected.

Swift Green Replacement for LG LT700P Refrigerator Filter, 3-Pack

Swift Green Replacement for LG LT700P Refrigerator Filter, 3-PackDoesn't remove chlorine at even half the efficiency of the old (factory) filter (measured with chemistry kit against old "worn out" filter). I'm very disappointed in this product.

We have an LG refrigerator and have used the LG LT700P filters and have had perfectly good tasting, cold water from the refrigerator. I tried to save some money by buying these filters which are advertised as replacements for the LG filters. They are cheaper, but in more ways than the price apparently. I initially ran 3 gallons of water through the filter (directions require 2.5). Water had a strong taste. So I ran 2 more gallons thru it. It had less of a taste. The weird thing is that when initially poured it doesn't have a strong taste, but not 5 minutes later the taste gets so much worse that you can't drink it. I don't know what the difference in the filters is but this is not filtering something that the LG filters obviously does. I feel, therefore, they are DEFECTIVE. You can't advertise as replacements if they aren't EQUAL in every way. I will note that we live in the Phoenix area and our water doesn't taste that great out of the sink to start. But LG fixes this. Maybe some of the other reviewers have better tasting water to start with? I returned to Amazon for a refund on this product because I had purchased a package of three! Can't use this product if its not as described!

Buy Swift Green Replacement for LG LT700P Refrigerator Filter, 3-Pack Now

Thought this would work Cheap Price, but even after gallons of water purged through it, it NEVER tasted right. Always a background taste. NEVER AGAIN!

When my original factory filter was overdue for replacement, I was appalled to find that they were ridiculously expensive to replace. In search of a more cost effective means to filter our water I found these Swift Green Replacement filters. I ordered a three pack, which at the price was a tremendous value over the name brand filter. They arrived quickly and installed easily.. but that's where the good ended.

Even after running several gallons through the filter and dumping it down the drain it the water still had a terrible flavor to it. MUCH worse than our unfiltered tap water.

When I first got the refrigerator, the water tasted the way a hot inflatable beach ball smells... but after about 5 gallons it went away to the point where it was not noticeable at all.

This filter however has tasted the same since day one. No matter how much water I run through it, the water still has a faint bad taste...somewhat like the way a dirty sponge smells. Although the smell and taste isn't very strong, it's still enough to affect the flavor of the water even with iced tea mix or similar powders mixed it. It's repulsive. You get what you pay for.

I bought 3 filters. After installing the first one, we began noticing a bad taste in the water and ice cubes. I ran another 3 gallons through the filter hoping to clear the bad taste. After 5 days I replaced the filter with a Sears filter and the bad taste disappeared. I returned the two remaining filters to Amazon with a bad review.

Samsung RF267AERS 26 cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Stainless Steel

Samsung RF267AERS 26 cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Stainless Steel
  • Cool Select Pantry With Temperature Control
  • EZ-Open Handle On Freezer Door
  • LED Lighting
  • Dimensions (WHD): 35 3/4" X 69 3/4" X 28 7/8"

I have owned this refrigerator for over a year now. I replaced a side-by-side refrigerator I previously owned. There is so much more room to store food and see it better in this french door model. The freezer is a huge improvement. I love the way this refrigerator is laid out. It is very polished and striking looking. The water/icemaker is a must have. The water filters are a little pricey to replace so I buy them through amazon 3 at a time and get free shipping and no tax.

Buy Samsung RF267AERS 26 cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Stainless Steel Now

I purchased my 26X series Samsung French-door refrigerator and also had the good fortune to remember to buy a Lowe's 4-year extended warranty.

Samsung products are junk, plain and simple. Once Korean-made quality products they are now made in China and are garbage. Samsung does not support their products unless you know how to create trouble for them.

Just a month after the Samsung warranty expired the icemaker reservoir did, too. That was repaired under the extended warranty the first, second, and third time. The bottom freezer gasket failed and was replaced. The freezer light switch failed and was replaced. Five days after the technician replaced the entire icemaker system the water dispenser failed. After replacing the main circuit board in back, the front control panel, lines, water switch and water reservoir with no luck the technician declared the refrigerator "unrepairable."

After the icemaker failed for the third time and the lower gasket and switch and the main CB had failed and been replaced I sent an email to Samsung Support from their website. What I got in response was that Samsung considers these types and numbers of failures within less than two years since purchase "Normal wear and tear."

Chatting online the representative apologized but refused to escalate my issues to a higher level ("Not allowed").

I contacted Lowe's Home Office and advised them of my problems and the fact of so many negative reviews in Amazon as well as the Class Action lawsuit against Samsung for selling several models of refrigerators with KNOWN defective compressors. Lowe's promised to look into the matter.

I waited a few days and then did another online chat. This time my claim was routed up the chain and I was assured I would get a call "within 2-3 business days." On the fourth business day I went back on the Chat Line and I got a call several hours later.

Suddenly, Samsung was "very concerned" and was willing to issue me a rebate for the depreciated value of the unit. All I had to do was send them a copy of the original sales receipt and invoices for the repairs. I did that and was told it would be 17-21 business days for my refund.

About a week later I got a call from a TV repair shop asking to set up an appointment to "inspect a Samsung unit." I told him I did not have a Samsung TV and he said he would cancel the call. I found out later that Samsung has no appliance service techs in my area and they then cancelled my claim.

Got that straightened out with the promise of another call to Lowe's Home Office and now I am SUPPOSED to be getting my depreciated rebate soon. The Lowe's Extended Warranty folks confirmed the "unrepairable" status with the technician and they are issuing me a Lowe's gift card for the full purchase price plus tax.

...and the icemaker gave up the ghost for the FIFTH time last night. Rather than try to sell it or give it away I am going to have Lowe's take it away and junk it.

Again, DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT OF ANY KIND.

Don't buy it. It has ruined my floors. The coils are now freezing. There is a class action lawsuit out on this fridge for the frozen coil defect. Not happy.

An update for you regarding my floors. Samsung contacted me and offered to pay for an assessment of the fridge (not repair). The man came out and said it was a nipple in the drain tube that freezes. They now have an "upgrade" which is longer than the original. The engineers messed up the first time. They said the part and repair is my responsibility at $250. I got a repair bid on the floor for $3500. I submitted this to Samsung at their request early April. Since then it has gone through many "layers" of their bureaucracy including "the president." Now it is in the hands of their insurance company which could take up to 14 business days to process. We're now 2 weeks past that and Samsung says they have no control over the insurance company and when they might call. We have a $3500 repair on our hands unless this company decides to do the right thing. Very disappointing to say the least.

Want Samsung RF267AERS 26 cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Stainless Steel Discount?

We've had this fridge for 2years. The control console was replaced in the first 3 months (warranty covered). Ice maker went right after he 12 month warranty expired and now it is freezing up inside due to poor design on twin cooling system. It is impossible to find a knowledgeable/qualified Samsung repairman. There is only one certified in the state of Marylandan hour away from us! We bought this at HHGregg based on their recommendationit's going out to our garage this weekend!!! Buy a more reputable brand that can be easily serviced. This is 'made in China' JUNK!!!

Well, buy a Samsung fridge if you need a massive pile of crap in your kitchen...

Buy a Samsung Fridge only if you don't like ice makers... Ours is about 3 years old. The Ice maker quit about 6 months ago. We contacted Samsung for repairs. They sent their factory authorized repair service, A&E Factory Service. They actually had the nerve to ask $535 dollars to fix the ice maker. Buyer Beware. Samsung = high dollar JUNK.

12/3/2012;

After being contacted by Samsung concerning my complaints with their product, I am updating my above review.

Samsung sent their repair service out to repair my ice maker. While they did pay for the parts, I was still left with the labor portion of the repair which came to about $180. It took 3 appointments for them to finally get it right which cost me quite a bit more money in lost wages.

Haier HLP21N Pulsator 1-Cubic-Foot Portable Washer

Haier HLP21N Pulsator 1-Cubic-Foot Portable Washer
  • Portable washer with 1-cubic-foot stainless-steel tub for loads up to 6 pounds
  • 3 water levels and 3 wash cycles; electronic controls with LED indicators
  • Quiet operation; cycle-status lights; end-of-cycle signal; adjustable leveling leg
  • Smooth-rolling casters; easy-installation kit with quick-connect sink adapter included
  • Measures approximately 17-1/4 by 17-3/5 by 30 inches

I haven't had any leak problems. The strange noise I was hearing puzzled me. I also envy anybody who can buy this machine straight through Amazon. you lucky ducks you ;-) I had to pay forty dollars for shipping.

Please let me know if you do hear strange noises. I am curious as to how many people get coins stuck inside the drum. It actually took me a while to figure out where the noise was coming from and took the bottom and back panel off, but the noise still continued. I'm not sure how the quarter became stuck in there, and still baffles me to this day. Please keep me updated with any concerns regarding noises. Hopefully, other owners or myself can help.

As far as the effectiveness of the machine, 5 stars says it all. To note, this washer machine doesn't have a drum spindle (not sure what you call the part that takes up space in most washers), so you can actually fit many more articles or clothing and/or towels inside.

Please let me know if this review was helpful.

Update 9/2/12: Thanks for all the helpful votes. The washer machine is still running strong. Remember if you hear a strange noise, unscrew the screw in the washer basket, and you'll probably find a coin. I still highly recommend this washer.

I recently purchased this, though not from this vendor. My living space is on the top floor and the laundry area is down 2 winding flights of stairs. Someone suggested that if I could do laundry without having it pile up, my life would be easier. So now, this is the first week I have had this installed. Admittedly, I never have overly high expectations of machinery, but I am more than happy with this.

The instructions for the washer are fairly detailed. I ran into trouble over the sink hook-up, just because I did not understand standard terminology. When a friend came in to help, it took him all of 15 minutes (or less). Everything was tightened with a wrench, plus he tied the two hoses (in and out) with a fastener to position them securely. I ran the first load 5 minutes later. No leaks, in spite of what you might have read in other reviews of the same product.

I am not a big person and tonight, the load (at medium, the default setting) was:

1 pair of long pants

1 flannel pajama shirt

1 cotton sweater (in a laundry bag)

1 blouse

4 pairs underwear and 4 pairs of socks (in separate mesh laundry bag)

2 T-shirts

After reading many reviews, I leave it on the medium setting and don't overfill it. I also got these laundry bags to protect the clothing. The spin cycle does a good enough job so the clothes dry within 12 hours on a rack in the bathroom. It is also easy to hook and unhook from the sink, and comes with wheels that you can choose to install.

I am ***very*** happy with the ease of use, convenience, portability, small footprint.

January, 2012:

Update: Towards the end of the warranty period, there was suddenly a spark and the whole thing went dead. In spite of what you may read elsewhere, I did reach a real person when I called the number listed on the instruction manual. A local authorized repair person was despatched who diagnosed it as the motherboard having a short. Haier was supposed to send the repair rep. a part, but I heard nothing, until a call several weeks later from Haier, saying they were going to replace the washer outright. There were things I had to do and instructions to follow, like cut the piping etc. etc., cut a label, include this and that. When this was followed to a "T", I did receive a new washer, again some weeks later. This immediately malfunctioned and water overflowed. It was a huge mess and somewhat of an emergency. Because I could not wait, I did not call the company but took care of it with my own repair guy. We switched the water level sensor (wrong part on the new one!) with the one I had saved on the old machine. Since then, it has worked beautifully. However, should this malfunction again, I may look for another brand To cut a long story short: 1. Save all documentation. 2. The product is inconsistent. Why would the new washer immediately malfunction with an INCORRECT PART? This was troubling. 3. If you are not in a hurry to get it repaired, then Haier does come through. 4. If Haier replaces the machine, save the old one for parts, if you possibly have room. It is because of these hassles and the malfunctioning that I have downgraded the 5-star to 3.

I purchased this washer from Target through Amazon last month and I couldn't be more pleased with it. I have been reading the reviews of these the little Haier washers for several months so I was prepared for how the bottom plate works (it bulges out), for the fact that we would struggle a bit getting the screws through the plate and that we needed teflon tape and good pliers to really tighten the hose connections. We were very careful in doing all that and we have no leaks and no odd noises. The sink adapter fit my sink perfectly so I didn't have to find a replacement. All and all, the set-up was easier than I expected.

As far as using it goes, the loads are larger than I thought they would be, the clothes come out very clean and well spun out so they dry quickly. The controls are easy to understand and so far everything has worked as it is supposed to. Our household has three members, myself and two teenagers and so far it is keeping up with us and sparing us the hideous laundromat problems we had before. A load might be a pair of jeans, 3 shirts and 3 pairs of socks or a sheet, 2 pillow cases and a large towel. We have even washed some blankets.

If anything goes wrong or it develops major problems I'll try to remember to update here but so far I'm very satisfied.

First time using: Water level sensor does not work, over flows. Wash cycle does not work, rinse cycle does not work, spin cycle works beautifully, but water flows out of holes in back of machine and from under bottom. Clean floor, pile of wet towells.

Called cust. service twice so far. Disconnected twice.

Will update review as progresses.

Haier service man out in 1.5 days.after reached them. Needs water level sensor..two weeks To get...Have full washer of water to empty.. decided best return it because he said nothig about the fact would not wash, just flashed red lights fast and still leaked.

Contacted Amazon..had new washer in 3 days.

While packing up bad washer to send back, got call from Haier service..going to be not two weeks for part but one to two months.

Haier zip...Amazon 5 star

New washer working beautifully. Have on permanent connection.

Don't know when you are going to get a bad product, but if going to get one , rather get it from Amazon because they take care of you. They make it right.

I live on a boat. There are "boat-specific" washers that start at around $900, more than I can justify. I got the Haier for about $200 including free shipping. Packing was ok, there was a small dent in the case that I erased by rubbing the steel from the inside with a plastic screwdriver handle.

This was an experiment with a gadget that would fit in an available space and had reasonable reviews. My main concern was that the manual said it would not operate if more than 2 degrees out of plumb, hard to achieve on a sailboat even in a marina. That seems a little pessimistic, as it operates easily even when the boat is rocking 5 or 8 degrees. I bet if the drum was gently braced with foam rubber or something up inside the case, the operating range would be even greater. I have had two out-of-balance shutdowns, which are easy to fix and restarting from where you were in the cycle is trivial. I have run maybe 20 loads of increasing size through it using maybe a quarter cup or less of generic low-suds detergent, with good cleaning and the clothes well enough spun to air-dry quickly.

It's intended to be moveable and connected to a sink faucet, but I've bolted it into a locker space, and it's easy enough to connect the inlet into the boat's water supply and the drain to a through-hull fitting. It seems to use just a couple of gallons per cycle on the "regular wash" and middle water level setting, maybe half a gallon more for "high water" and "heavy wash." Runs about 20-22 minutes per regular cycle. Current draw when the motor is working hard is about 5-6 amps, not bad for a device with this much horsepower. It is what I would consider very quiet in operation.

There are slightly larger Haier models that were just too big for my space, though the extra capacity and features would have been nice. For me, for my application, I would consider this a good buy and a very suitable product. It's got a stainless steel drum and quality wiring and plumbing fittings. I hope it lasts as long as the ones others have reported on, several years at least. The "boat specific" ones might do that but they are a problem to repair and expensive.

Danby DAR259BL 2.5-Cu. Ft. Designer Compact All Refrigerator, Black

Danby DAR259BL 2.5-Cu. Ft. Designer Compact All Refrigerator, Black
  • 2.5 cu.ft. ( 70.79 litres) capacity
  • Compact counter-top all refrigerator
  • Automatic defrost; Mechanical thermostat
  • 2-1/2 shelves for maximum storage versatility
  • Tall bottle storage; CanStor beverage dispensing system

There is no wasted space for a freezer compartment. The door organization is terrific. I've used it in my classroom for a year, and it still runs as it did from the beginning. I am very pleased.

Buy Danby DAR259BL 2.5-Cu. Ft. Designer Compact All Refrigerator, Black Now

Bought one of these for my office to keep beverages cool and lunches fresh. Amazon Prime got it here (for free!) in 2 days in great shape. Plugged it in 7 months ago and have never had a single issue with it since.

Interior layout is pretty good no freezer! Lower shelf is somewhat shallow, but top ones are plenty deep. About 1/2 of the door is designed to hold 12oz soda/beer cans, so if you don't have any, some space may be wasted. With all the shelving pulled out, the surfaces are pretty even and easy to clean.

Temperature adjustment is a simple knob. Seems to cool pretty quickly, and accidentally setting it too cold demonstrated that it had no problem freezing things. Hasn't apparantly struggled with the occasional 90 degree day.

In a shared office with half a dozen people, running computers, etc, it's virtually silent except for a half a moment of quiet whirr and gurgle when it comes on a few times an hour.

Door is easy to open from the top-mounted handle and looks reversible. Magnets stick to the sides, but not the front. Top is sturdy enough to stack other things on. Has had no issue staying cool being crammed into a corner, pushed within 1" of hitting both walls.

4.5 stars minus 1/2 for the soda-can holder design.

This refrigerator was the exact dimensions listed on product page, which made it perfect for fitting under the desk of a standard cubicle (with about 0.25in to spare). It is quiet and keeps food cold.

My only complaint is that the temperature button on the back has no indication as to which direction makes things colder, so it took a bit of trial and error (spread over a few days). For anyone wondering the same, clockwise is colder.

This was a graduation gift. Looks nice, luckily arrived undamaged. I agree with other reviews that there is not much to the packing. Just the box is would come in (like in a store). The reviews were also helpful to remind us to place refrigerator in place UNPLUGGED FOR 24 HOURS, before plugging in. This was done and works wells. But we just got it. So, hopefully it will continue to run well.

The itam is listed on this page as 21.2 x 18.1 x20.8 inches.

hope you do not have a dedicated space for it like i do.

the item is 28" high & not the dimensions as listed.

NFL Denver Broncos Portable Party Refrigerator

NFL Denver Broncos Portable Party RefrigeratorThis is a great product if you just want to store a few brews. This is not very roomy. I sent it back because I do not think its a good buy for the money. Like most NFL products you are paying for the logos. You can buy a mini fridge with double the room for half the price. It is a good quality product though.

GE 40W 130V Microwave Light Bulb WB36X10003

GE 40W 130V Microwave Light Bulb WB36X10003Well at least it didn't do its job for long! I am having real difficulty finding the genuine GE light bulbs that will do on my GE microwave 'spacemaker' because that bulb blew out very quickly, it hardly lasted a month! I believe I need to buy directly from Sears as they seem to be the only one carying the genuine bulbs that will last on this particular model. Anyway the price was good but not the bulb! These are not the genuine GE bulbs! So good luck finding yours!

I bought 4 of these bulbs, delivery was good but, the first week one blew out. I have not replaced it because I'm afraid it will blow again. Lets see what happens to the rest

I have only had these bulbs for a few weeks and one of them is dimming already. Also they were advertised as GE Brand and they are not.

I have uploaded some pictures (5 to be exact) to show the microwave we put the bulb in, the old bulb and the new bulb along with the glass it broke. We dont use the lights all the time or as a night light. Only when we cook and then let the bulb stay on for a short time afterwards maybe. Its the same thing we have done for the past 8 years that we have had the microwave. This was the first time we had to replace the bulb in the unit. 8 years compared to less than 8 days. Something is apparently wrong with this one bulb or this model of bulbs. I am going to file a claim with the seller to replace the glass that was broke. It is rather expensive but we need to have it to keep stuff from getting into the socket. I placed wax paper up there but my wife refuses to cook on the range until it has a new bulb and replacement glass.

**UPDATE** December 23, 2012

I sent a complaint to the 3rd party selling this bulb expressing our concern that it blew out in a few days and damaged our microwave. The short of the response we got was that they didn't make the bulb. I would stay away from this bulb and the seller at all costs. At this point I have an irate wife who refuses to cook on the range until it is fixed. If you have a home supply center in town, I would take your make, model and SN of your appliance and check with them instead, that's what I plan to do now. :-(

Understand, I hold nothing against Amazon, only the seller. The application for the bulb matched my microwave so it should have been fine but wasn't. Now I have about a hundred or so dollars worth of damage to fix out of my own pocket...not worth it...

Want GE 40W 130V Microwave Light Bulb WB36X10003 Discount?

I realize this was through A-1 appliance, but Amazon has them on their website, so I blame them as much as A-1. The bulb arrived in a box packed with magazine pages for "padding." There was no receipt, no packing slip etc.., so when i opened the box and realized they sent me the wrong item, I didn't know how to return it, or even a receipt to check what they sent. pay a few extra bucks and get it from a reputable company. A-1 is a good steak sauce, but they are an awful part supplier

Whirlpool 2321799 Defrost Bimetal for Refrigerator

Whirlpool 2321799 Defrost Bimetal for RefrigeratorI have a cheap second refrigerator in my garage; it's branded "Costco by Whirlpool" and built in 1999 in Mexico.

Recently the refrigerator compartment wasn't cooling... spoiled milk was the first clue. This was in spite of the fact that the freezer compartment was fine.

I knew that if the compressor was bad it probably wouldn't be worth repairing this old fridge BUT it probably was OK since the freezer was working. Given the age of the refrigerator I was reluctant to call out a repairman when the meter is at $75-100 when they first show up. So I Googled "Whirlpool refrigerator not cooling" to see if I could get any hint as to whether or not it was liable to be a big problem.

MUCH to my surprise I found a lot of really useful information including several very helpful UTube tutorials. These videos provided trouble-shooting tips and detailed disassembly instructions.... once I opened up the freezer compartment (not at all difficult) it was clear from the hidden ice buildup that the defrost cycle wasn't working and that the ice was blocking cold air from the refrigerator compartment. Several of these videos pointed to the automatic defrost system as the likely culprit and specifically to this defrost thermostat. One even showed a test procedure to verify whether the defrost thermostat was faulty (involves a multi-meter and a glass of ice water, but a AA battery and a flashlight bulb would have worked). Sure enough it looked bad (and failed the test) so I went to the local supply houses to find one. They had generics in stock but those lack the clip on feature. The delay for the clip-on part was 4 four days and the cost was $35.... I could have gotten it just as fast and much cheaper through Amazon. The only "skill" required was stripping the wires and applying wire nuts and electricians' tape (see UTube for detailed how-to).

While I was in there I noticed the fan motor was wobbly and somewhat sticky and thus seemed likely to fail soon. This fan was $65 from my local suppliers so I ordered this guyWhirlpool Part Number 2197381: Evaporator Fan Motor from Amazon for about half that. It was easy to install with my newly-found expertise at removing the freezer parts and fit perfectly... probably a 15-minute chore to replace and it works without wobbling and is very smooth turning. Everything good except my worrying... why worry? The vendor delivered the part to UPS within 24 hours of my order but the UPS tracking system said it was going to take 16 DAYS to get here.... from CA to WA!! I kept checking and the UPSs system kept reporting 16 days. It actually showed up in 5 days (three working days) which is normal UPS Ground from California, so it was all about faulty UPS reporting, not any actual service problem, but if you were waiting for it to repair our main refrigerator, it could cause some stress.

This solves the "freezer cold, fridge warm" problem most of the time. It's a cheap part and a pain to get to so why couldn't whirlpool make it better. After the hairdryer method of manually defrosting (keep towels nearby), my old one seems to be working but who knows for how long.
