I just moved into a new townhome and discovered that my freezer shelf was missing. After conducting some research I discovered that this was the shelf that I was missing, so I ordered it. This is not the right shelf, and, even if it were, it would be useless. It is tiny, so tiny, in fact, that nothing could really fit underneath it. After looking into alternates and actually measuring my freezer I did find the right shelf. The moral of the story is this: don't believe everything the internet tells you.

The product was much smaller/less substantial than I was expecting considering the price point. We ended up buying a seemingly bigger/better product for a fraction of the price.

We moved in August and needed a new frige. I decided to buy this model so that I had something immediately on-hand. The idea was to upgrade to my dream frige once we were settled in. This Avanti has been working so well, I'm now holding off until it breaks. Yeah, I have to grocery shop more than once a week now but this baby holds all of our basics and is actually saving us grocery money.

The door alone holds 2 half gallon cartons of milk on the bottom rack and yogurt on the top rack. That leaves a lot of room for cheese, margarine, eggs, meat and leftovers.

The downside:

1) When I first plugged it in, it took at least 24 hours before the temperature was cool enough to stop me from wondering if it was broken.

2)There is no freezer so I have to buy frozen items the day I need them and ice cream and pop sicles are no longer items in our household.

3)I don't know if it's from my kids not shutting the door all the way or an internal malfunction but there is sometimes a small pool of liquid on the bottom shelf. There is a crease/indentation there so the fluid is contained. I can't tell if it's defrosting becuase of my kids or if this is done in self maintenance. It really sets off my OCD though.

The upside:

1) I spent $79 (locally) for this instead of over $1200 for the really fancy appliance that I really wanted.

2)We don't waste as much food.

3)I realized that I bought way too many condiments in the past that just never get used. Why did I buy them?

4)I used to buy quite a bit of frozen veggies. I've switched to 100% fresh, local varieties from the farmer's market. We're healthier as a result.

5)It's quieter than my former frige.

6)It still works so I feel like I've gotten my money's worth.

Bottom line: This is a good investment at the right price!!

I bought one for my daughter's dorm. Works perfectly, she has had it for almost a year now and it has given her no grief. Best thing is the freezer compartment. Most of the fridges we looked within this size and price range did not have a freezer or a freezer just big enough for a tray of ice cubes. This one has enough room for her to put a small package (ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, I am not sure if a pint will fit in though).

It come with magnets, very handy to stick something important on the fridge. (Don't forget the messy dorm rooms). The dry erase board works, but not that well, but who buys a fridge to use as a note pad or a writing board?

This refrigerator is not a refrigerator because refrigerators keep things cold. This is a room temperature box with a door acting like a fridge. This is a waste of money. I have it on the coldest setting and it sits there and does nothing. All it does is spoil my milk. I hate this product.

The appearance of this fridge is excellent. The stainless look on the sides was a deciding factor in our selection of this fridge and it looks great. The ice/water in door operation is good. When you open the doors the light gently comes on which is a neat touch. So far our food is kept cool and frozen in the respective areas as appropriate. The drawers don't glide as smoothly as they should, but are acceptable.

The one major problem is that this refrigerator makes a high pitched whine constantly when the compressor is running (which is most of the time). We would have chosen another fridge if we'd known about this beforehand. This is not just your typical compressor noise that most refrigerators make. This is that typical noise plus a high pitched noise that we find very irritating.

This is very disappointing since our two previous Frigidaire refigerators worked so well in every respect.

Based on the high pitched noise that this fridge makes I could not recommend this product.

I purchased the beverage center Aug 2011, beautiful product. Broke this July and it has been a nightmare to get replaced since they were not able to fix it (3 visits from the repair company). Everyone at Danby was soooooo nice, but totally useless. It is now the end of Oct...and no replacement. When I called Danby today 10/30/12 I was told that I didnt send them the physical serial #, which I was NEVER told to do back on 10/2/12. I was told the replacement was being shipped and to call them when I received it to discuss warranty on the new item. Today I was hung up on by Maria Pineda, the Danby Manager of Customer Service because I was upset that this was going on for so long...really?? Thats how they handle an upset customer?! Purchased this beverage center 4 years ago. I love this little refrigerator, you can store beverages in one side and your wine in the other and there are dual controls for each side with a beautiful blue light when you open the refrigerator. The only problems is that it lasted a mere 4 years before dying. Repairman says it was made in China and the wires are opposite of what is normal in the US making it tricky to diagnose and repair. Turns out is needs a new master board which runs somewhere in the $500+ range because it is not a stocked item anywhere so it has to be special ordered. Cheaper just to buy a new one, unfortunately.

Overall this little cooler does a great job. Read some of the other reviews and wonder if I happen to get the best from the bunch.

Works real well till the grand kids come over and think its great to have unlimited access to soda pop. Trick like any refrigerator keep the doors closed and it maintains the wine at the right temperatures. The beverage side will cool energy drinks, sodas and gatorade cold enough to enjoy right out of the can. Unit was build into a cabinet we made sure to leave space behind the unit to allow for air to circulate. Have had it for a couple of years and it runs like a champ.

We bought this cooler new and have had multiple problems ever since. First of all, the cooler looks cool, with its blue light, but that is the only feature that we like. Although it is still on warranty, we have spent MONTHS attempting to get it repaired. The repairman advised us that this model is made in China and he was unable to fix it because of what he maintained is an engineering issue. He was very competent and familiar with the unit, but still was unable to fix it. The cooler has two sides that have independent/dual temperature controls. Although it is supposed to cool down to 39 degrees, it only dips down to the 50's. Both sides fluculate wildly. This was money down the drain. The repairman picked it up twice and kept it for almost a month each time trying to fix it. He replaced the board and when it returned the light didn't work. He took it back because the temperature only work properly for days. He returned and watched it and admitted that it can't hold the correct temperature. He left it here and related that he would contact Danby for assistance because he can't disgnosis it. Even the repairman maintained that he could not get any answers from the Danby service experts. The bottom line is that the unit is only useful as an anchor or something that looks nice, but doesn't work. After the warranty is over, we will just have to pitch it out and purchase a more reliable make/model. PLEASE, SAVE YOURSELF AGGRAVATION AND DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!

This has to be the worse appliance I have ever owned. Cannot hold a temperature, noisy fans, one side quit some time back. I have yet to find a decent review. Like I said DO NOT BUY!!

I was hesitant about purchasing this kegerator because of some of the reviews but decided to buy it anyway. The unit came in scratch and dent free which I was very pleased about. I spent the extra bucks and got the stainless model which looks nice in the man cave. I was a little surprised how small the unit was when I was unpacking it. In the pictures they all look the same but this is not a full size kegerator it is basically a mini-fridge with an over sized door to accomodate a full size keg. This was not an issue for me because I am limited on space and the overall cosmetic appearance of the unit is very nice. I installed the casters to give it more height. The kegerator assembled easily and came with alot of spare gaskets, parts and wrenches which I thought was cool. Do pay attention to the gasket that belongs beneath the tower like the other reviews say because it is not mentioned in the instructions. It comes with a 2.5 pound Co2 tank which is adequate but I will probaly upgrade to a 5 pound. It also came with a nice dual gauge Co2 regulator unlike some reviews said. Some of the reviews said the unit would not get cold enough. Mine seems to stay around 34-36 degrees on the max setting. That seems perfect to me! Some of the reviews talk about the noise. I can say it is a little noisy but just a little more than a regular refrigerator. You get what you pay for in life and this unit has some cheaply made parts here and there but at the end of the day what do you expect from a kegerator? Cold draft beer when you want it and this unit will deliver! Why pay hundreds more? I am very pleased so far. I've only had it for three days and am half way through my first keg of blue moon but no issues so far. I will update if any issues arrive!

I've read the other reviews on this unit, and I still picked one up. This isn't a book/batteries/small retail, and when buying it from Amazon, you should really be present at delivery to insure no damage befell your unit in shipping. I was home when this came, and I looked over the box before I let the UPS driver go. It came double boxed with quite a bit of foam and cardboard protecting the fridge, then more cardboard protecting the tower/bottle/regulator/etc inside. After attaching the casters and fully assembling the unit, I waited the recommended 8 hours (really, I waited overnight) before plugging it in. I let it run for another night to be sure it was cooling properly, and then. after I decided everything was fine, I filled the CO2 bottle and purchased my keg. Don't omit this series of steps. If you want a working kegorator, pay attention to the instructions that come with it. It's pretty simple.

***UPDATE***

More than a year later, this kegorator is still going strong. I did have to replace the gas bottle it came with on the 2nd fill, which was pretty disappointing, but with that exception it's still working perfectly.

Only negetive it is a bit loud for its size, sounds like any other fridge. Like any keg it takes a bit of adjusting with the co2 (which gauges work very well)

We bought this kegerator after living in Germany. It is hard to drink American beer after living in Germany. And, German beer is absurdly expensive by the bottle in the USA compared to how CHEAP it is across the pond. So this was our Christmas gift to ourselves. We decided on this model because we did not want to spend more than was necessary. Of course, we had to purchase an alpha coupler for the German barrels, which added to the expense. Our first keg was a Paulaner hefeweisen and it is a little taller so it BARELY fit into the fridge. We had to do some strategic bending of the coupler.... and we had to remove the extra tray for barrel support. but we made it work. Our second keg is a Franziskaner and it still would have required bending the neck and removing the barrel base. So, this model is not ideal for those who want to use German kegs. That said, it IS working, it WAS a great deal, and we ARE very happy with it. The beer is cold. It is not the quietest thing ever, however, it is not bad and it doesn't have to run that often. It arrived with some minor quality issues that only effect the appearance. But you get what you pay for and we recognize that.

I bought this product hoping all the negative reviews were wrong...but they werent. The kegerator came dented right out of the box, and no matter what i did, the temperature would not get below 45 degrees! Looks like it could be a nice fridge if they could fix the cooling problem...but buyer beware...this fridge will not deliver cold enough beer! Im now stuck with half a keg of beer thats ruined. Our old refrigerator had a serious incontinence problem. No matter if the door was open or closed, you'd hear a wet sound, more particularly, a sound you hear in the bathroom and a puddle of water would form around the front. Gawd, I was heartily sick of the puddles. At first the puddles were a weekly occurrence, but over the last few months they became a daily misery. I knew it was time to replace the fridge when I slipped in the slick water and sprained my ankle (wow, it's a good thing life doesn't come with tv cameras, because my curses were so foul, they'd make a drunken pirate blush).

Here enters a lovely, pure white Amana. This fridge is smaller than our old Wretched Rectangle of lukewarmness and it has a top freezer instead of a side by side freezer, the novelty of this is kinda fun, no more stooping down to dig a bag of tater tots out of the bottom shelf. The freezer space is pretty small, but it doesn't really matter because we bought a chest freezer last year because the old attached freezer stopped working (sheesh, I can't believe what we put up with and for so long!).

Anyways, the interior space of the refrigerator is probably slightly smaller than our old Frigidair but with the added bonus of it actually working, no more frozen salads, salsa and lunchmeat, just perfect temp food its all win win as far as I'm concerned.

The interior has two adjustable shelves and two large drawers, one I use for meat and cheese and the bigger one for vegetables. If you make the shelf above the drawers the tall shelf, you can really maximize the space because near the top part of the interior space, there is some kind of motor'ish interruption (my fridge descriptive powers are failing me) that sticks out and breaks the top space into two and so you can't store tall items across the top shelf. This isn't much of a problem and so far, even my overstocked fridge is keeping up with my crazed food purchases.

This fridge is the second large appliance I've ordered online, the first was a chest freezerGE FCM5SUWW 5.0 cu. Ft. Chest Freezer White like this one (we didn't order this one, ours is a Holiday brand) and we ordered it from Lowe's. When they delivered it it wasn't in a box and it looked kinda scratched up for a new appliance, once we plugged it in it smelled BAD. Really bad, it smelled like rotten meat and we had to get the Lowe's people to take it back and bring us another freezer (they really didn't want to do this and acted very nasty about it), this second freezer was pristine and lovely and best of all didn't smell like Texas roadkill.

What I'm getting at is, I was kinda worried about ordering another major appliance after our icky experience with Lowe's. I'm happy to report that our Amana arrived clean and roadkill free. The guys who delivered it were fast and professional and within a couple of minutes we'd signed for it, plugged it in and stuck our heads in to breathe in the clean, never-been-used-before appliance smell, what a heavenly experience and totally hassle free, no pesky appliance salesmen and no waiting in line!
