Whirlpool 4396508 KitchenAid Maytag Side-by-Side Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-Pack
The 3-pack of these is a great maoney saving costing only about $5 more than buying two of them individually.
They only rate about a 4 in the star system because they never last as long as Whirlpool says they should. The owner's manual says about 5-6 months with the sort of use we put them to, and the "change me" light comes on at about the 5 month time, and the water flow through begins to diminish about the same time. But, changing the filter at the 4-month point keeps the water taste top notch. Waiting that extra month or so gives you water that isn't as clean tasting.
Ah, well. At least you save money buying in bulk. Feedback I left regarding a recent order with FiltersFast was removed, so I'm reposting. I purchased 3 filters from FiltersFast pursuant to a BUY 3 AND GET FREE SHIPPING offer, which the ad stated SHIPS FROM AND SOLD BY FILTERSFAST, however I was charged for shipping. FiltersFast admits the ad is misleading and a violation of amazon's policies that prohibit sellers from posting seller-specific info, such as free shipping offers, in product descriptions, but refused to issue a refund.

Like some other reviewers recently, I did not receive a genuine Whirlpool filter as pictured in the description. I received a "Water Sentinel" brand filter. I does fit the refrigerator--mine takes the filter in the lower grille (but it's a Kenmore made by Whirlpool). However, it's not what I believed I was purchasing. The filter itself is very lightweight which makes me question if there's as much going on on the inside as there is in a genuine whirlpool filter. Yes, the price is cheap. No, I'm not going through the hassle of returning it. But buyer beware! :(I purchased Whirlpool filters (item 4396508) as shown in the photo and described in the description. I received generic Water Sentinel filters. Probably an honest mistake, but if I wanted generic filters, I would have ordered them. I will be returning them.Want Whirlpool 4396508 KitchenAid Maytag Side-by-Side Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-Pack Discount?
Standard replacement filter for fridge. Works fine. Lasts 6 months. It could be cheaper but it is convenient and improves the taste of water for drinking and coffee. Shipment wasn't super quick but it wasn't bad either.Friday, April 4, 2014

Whynter FM-45G 45-Quart Portable Refrigerator/Freezer, Platinum
- Capacity: 45 Quarts or 60 Cans (12FL oz)
- Operates as a refrigerator or freezer
- 8-feet AC power cord and 5-feet DC power cord and two removable wire baskets are included
- "Fast Freeze" mode rapidly cools to -8°F
- LED temperature display
Even the latch on the top door is great quality has a spring action the puts tension on the lid to keep it somewhat down even before you latch. Smart. Only complaint is it came with a dent in the front of it that happened between the first box and second 'shipping' box at the factory. Ah, but so what, it's nice and seems to work great. Did the flash freeze, got down to -2 and stayed there. Outside didn't get cool so the insulation must be good.
I'm a big solar guy, so when I go camping will run this off the sun + battery during the day and just a battery at night. I will post a pic showing it with a 1/2 gallon of milk inside, to give you some perspecitve.

I was going to buy an Engel fridge/freezer but couldn't justify the high price tag. This fridge/freezer is about $400.00 cheaper and while it may not last as long as an Engel i'm sure it will last at least 5 years with proper care.
I live overseas and spending this much on a portable fridge is risky how they handle the mail is a crap shoot.
I didn't expect this to arrive for at least month from the time of order. I was surprised it arrived in 4 days which is remakable through the Military mail system. In fact as much as it weighs it arrived without a scratch!
The fridge is simple to operateAC or run on a deep cycle battery. Set the temp you want and thats it.
It's bit on the heavy side but not so much you can't lift it where you want to set it. The Plus is the removable baskets which should save you some back pain over time.
With these type of applances, they either work out of the box or they don't the first time you plug them in.
It's been my experence if they work they will work trouble free for a long time.
Luckly mine worked right out of the box :)
looks like I'll be one happy camper :)

Does a super job at cooling , set at 40 initially, during 24 hour test, then shifted to 42 degrees because it overshoots a bit and brings it to 36 degrees. The only issue is the weight, EMPTY it is hefty allready, and filled would require two folks to transport !Friday, February 14, 2014

The original door was cheaply made and subject to to break and the replacement is exactly the same. You would think LG would make a more substantial door in what is supposed to be one of their top of the line products.

When we purchased our house, it came with an amazing LG frig, but the cover for the tray crisper was broken. This replacement cover fit perfectly, just didn't get five stars because the writing on the cover is missing. The LG line of fridge/freezers is a well-thought out design and takes advantage of inexpensive replacement parts for those pieces which are easily misused by their owners....too much stress or torque or inadvertent impact can destroy any makers 'innards'. I'm happy that LG provides easy to install, cost effective replacements. The door was the same shape and function, but it had no labeling as the picture indicated. So it works, it just doesn't match.Saturday, January 11, 2014
Cuisinart CWC-900 Private Reserve 11-Bottle Stainless-Steel Countertop Wine Cellar
- 11-bottle countertop wine cellar in an attractive stainless-steel design
- Thermoelectric compressor-less cooling technology for quiet operation
- Controls with 8 presets ensures ideal storing and serving temperatures
- LED display; 3 removable chrome racks; interior lighting
- Measures 20-1/8 by 18-8/9 by 18 inches; 3-year limited warranty
This unit is a single cooling chamber (as opposed to some dual-chamber models I've seen, which allow independent temperatures in the two chambers). It has presets corresponding to certain temperatures, which are inconveniently not listed in the manual. However these can be determined easily enough by dialing in a preset program and checking the temperature the following day. (I haven't bothered to do this) The manual does offer you which presets are best for the various varietals of wine (1 through 8, with 8 being the coldest). You can also set the temperature manually if you do not wish to follow the preset programs. There is a digital temperature readout visible through the door when it's closed clever design, but very difficult to see if the unit is on the floor (where I have mine). True to claim, there is essentially no vibration when the cooling compressor/fan are engaged. The front door has a large window (see picture above) which is dark-tinted to keep the evil humours out whilst you gaze upon your vino. There is an interior light which comes on when you open the door, and can be switched to continuous ON position if desired. As to the previous reviewers comment about the compressor running a lot, it does run more in the first 24hrs than afterwards, but not excessively so. Mine slips neatly right under my home-office desk (close at hand for those bad days!). Actually, this is the coolest room in the house and so the unit runs less in that ambient temp, and hence consumes less electricity. You should be aware that it has exhaust vents to the right of the door handle that need several inches of clearance, so plan accordingly for your physical layout.
I give this model 4-1/2 stars for price & convenience. I have to withhold a 1/2-star simply because the digital readout window is hard to see from a high angle. If I get into white wines at some point, I like this unit well enough to consider purchasing a second one and at this price, it's at least equal in total price (for two units) as some of the dual-chamber models I've seen, if not a little cheaper.
UPDATE 2/17/07
Well, as some others have reported, the unit developed a problem after about 11 months of service wherein it was running continuously without cooling at all. I called the Cuisinart company, and to my surprise they acknowledged an engineering defect and offered to exchange the unit at no charge for a new one with the defect corrected. There were some logistical trials and tribulations involved in the return, but finally the new replacement unit arrived yesterday and now I'm "chillin' like a villain" once again.
The dimensions of the unit by my own measurement are W 17-1/8" (43.5cm) H 16-3/8" (41.5cm) D 16-7/8" (43.8cm), and the door handle adds about 1-1/2" depth.

I think the problems that other reviewers had might be similar to what I experienced, though they didn't indicate that they kept the unit around long enough for me to be sure. I'm returning this unit to the dept. store where I bought it, but I'd like to warn other potential buyers to be watchful.I knew that it would take a while (up to a week, possibly) for the unit to get to its holding temperature (I had it at 57 or 58, I don't remember, exactly). Once it did, it barely ran at all. I mean AT ALL; the fan might have clicked on once every couple of days, after that.
After a short period of time, though, the unit was literally running around the clock. Also, the temperature LED showed 74 degrees, though a thermometer I placed in the unit read 45 degrees.
I unplugged the unit, and with its door closed, I left it that way for a day. I re-read the internal temperature, which had increased to 50 degrees while it was unplugged --obviously well below my desired setting of 58, so I plugged it back in. The LED showed 50 degrees for about 30 seconds, and then the fan kicked in at the same time the displayed popped back up to 74.
I let the unit run for a few hours (the fan running the entire time), and re-read the temperature. It was 47 degrees, though the display still showed 70-something.
It obviously keeps things cool, but the fan will run _constantly_ if something goes wrong with the unit, probably the thermostat, but I'm not sure.
Like I said, the unit goes back today.I've owned my Cuisinart CWC-900 for about a week and it is driving me nuts. The fan runs constantly (about 22 hours a day) and is just loud enough to be annoying (sounds like a hair dryer on its lowest setting). For an otherwise well designed and aesthetically pleasing appliance, this is a deal breaker.
Want Cuisinart CWC-900 Private Reserve 11-Bottle Stainless-Steel Countertop Wine Cellar Discount?
I have owned this wine cellar for about a week. Don't believe the "no noise" claim the fan runs almost constantly and is nearly as loud as a full-size refrigerator. Also, even at the coldest setting, the wine temperature is often not cold enough. Bottles on the bottom shelf are coldest, most likely by design, and top-shelf wines are only cool, certainly not as cold as the temperature reading indicates.Overall this wine cellar is a disappointment. It looks nice on the counter, but with the constant running of the fan, it might end up somewhere out of the way just so we don't have to listen to it. Kind of defeats the purpose of buying a Cuisinart with a stylish design.
I ordered this unit in early December and it arrived in mid-March. The offer included a mail-in special offer for an additional Cuisinart product, but the offer expired before the product arrived. I contacted customer service and was told the offer would not be honored.
I do not recommend this product and am considering returning it, though the high return shipping costs will likely keep me from doing so.We received our unit last night and we were so excited it looks beautiful, so compact and beautifully designed. Unfortunately, I can't BELIEVE how loud it is...it sounds
like a room fan on its highest setting, and that is in my air conditioned house.
It's going to be a pain to return since it is so big.

Maytag MFF2055YEM 19.6 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator - Energy Star
- 2 Shelves
- 6 Door Bins
- Temperature Controlled Pantry
- Humidity Crispers
- Water Filter
Maytag products feature parts that fail faster than light bulbs. You won't have to change the light bulbs inside this fridge because the switches will fail first, or else the circuit boards. Expect to pay for this refrigerator a second time in repair bills. Maytag does not provide any service information so that you can swap out something simple like a door switch. Onsite repairs by service techs will cost you hundreds of dollars for $25 parts. I'm an electrical engineer and all I need is a service manual and I could fix this machine myself. Maytag won't provide me with any support. Their attitude is to screw you and make it as painful as possible.
I will never buy a Maytag product again. Don't make the mistake I made. Choose a competing product with good reviews.

If you have tight space restrictions, this is your refrigerator. I also didn't want door dispensers, but still an automatic ice maker, and this fit the bill. So far very nice and quiet. A huge improvement from the builder model we spent 15 years praying would die!Saturday, November 2, 2013

Update Nov. 2010:Bottle next to the cooling vent is slightly cool (at lowest temperature); the others aren't. There's a lot of condensation inside, so you have to dry the puddles every few months.
It kinda serves its purpose, but I thought it would be better.
First off, the plastic looks and feels cheap; it scratches easily. Also, the sticker in the control panel wasn't properly adhered, so I pulled it out a bit to strech it, and now it doesn't stick properly. The good thing about the unit being plastic, is that it's very light.
As for the cooling properties, the wine bottle next to the cooling vent, cools wonderfully; the one next to that one, is OK; the third one, not so much; and the bottle farthest to the vent doesen't cool at all. I always use the bottle next to the vent, and then move the remaining a space closer to the vent, so they'll cool while we drink the one I took out.
It's not as quiet as advertised (it says "ultra quiet"). It's actually a little louder than my fridge; but it's not that bad. We have it the kitchen, next to the fridge, so it doesn't bother us too much.
I bought it because it's a real spacesaver. It can be mounted horizontally under cabinets, which is how we use it; and it can also be used freestandind vertically or horizontally.
I bought this cooler less than a month ago for $129.99, and now it's $89.98, so I guess it's not selling all that well.

I bought this to save space in my kitchen. The wine cooler worked great for about a month and now the cooler has stopped cooling. The fan still goes but it doesnt work. I would suggest spending some more money and get a good one.Want Koolatron WC04 Compact Thermoelectric 4-Bottle Wine Cooler Discount?
Just like one of the other reviewers...my unit worked for about a month then just stopped working. Fan keeps going but no cooling. I might just as well have saved my money and bought an expensive wine rack for all the good it does. Dont buy...get a better quality unit.We purchased two of these units to stand upright inside a buffet server. The problem is that they generate a good deal of heat, and therfore we couldn't close the doors of the server without getting a substantial build-up of heat inside. We actually solved the problem by attaching some plastic tubing and venting it out the back of the piece of furniture. This required some creative thinking and extra expense and work, but hopefully it'll be OK. The fridges themselves seem to work just fine, it's just the problem with the location we chose to use them in.Saturday, August 17, 2013
Vinotemp VT-12TEDTS-2Z 12-Bottle Dual-Zone Thermoelectric Wine Cooler, Black
- Independent temperature controls for red and white wines
- Touch screen control panel and digital temperature display
- Sleek all black cabinet, dual-paned glass doors and blue led inteior light provide a stylish display of your collection
- 4 Sturdy chrome shelves
- Freestanding use only
The reason for 3 stars is the doors are slightly out of allignment. Only one day so far and it does seem to work though. I guess it is better just to spend the extra and get a full sized floor standing model, on that note these are not all that cheap.

The refrigeration works as advertised and the dual zones are good.but... the outer shell is a thin plastic and it arrived with a broken corner.
A 1"x1/2" plastic corner was loose in the bottom of the box but the box was not dented.
I kept the unit because it is not openly displayed. The broken piece was superglued back above the hinge but still shows a crack. We owned this for around 3 months or so and had it on the counter in a utility/ pantry room, just to keep our better wines. Before long it was showing an inaccurate temp reading and the inside temp varied significantly, it then began making a racket (noisy enough to hear from another room), and then it just stopped working. We threw it out in frustration. Perhaps we got a lemon, and in all fairness, we did not contact Vinotemp to see if they would replace it -for all I know, they may have been wonderful to work with. I'm here shopping for another larger wine cooler now as our collection in this home is growing I am reminded by how disappointed we were with this unit.
