We've had this refrigerator for for about 4 months and it's driving me crazy! There is a loud fan/motor that comes on frequently to shuttle cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator compartment and it makes quite a racket. We can hear the noise from more than 20 feet away even when watching TV. It's so loud we thought it was broken so had the Whirlpool tech come out for service. He said there's nothing wrong and that's just how it is supposed to work. We've had guests comment on the sound wondering if there was a problem with our "new" refrigerator!

There's also a loud buzzing noise made whenver you use the ice or water dispenser and the same noise happens when it automatically refills the icemaker or water reservoir. I would inquire about this desing on any of the Whirlpool models and definitely not buy this or any other model with similar design.

After 15 months, just outside of the one year warranty, the freezer stopped holding a freezing temp. The ice in the ice maker melted flooding the ice dispenser motor compartment, so it no longer dispenses ice. The items in the freezer will be thawed, but the water dispenser line will be frozen. Now I need to pay whirlpool to fix this defective product, I guess it is a profit deal. Whirlpool's customer service is horrible too, I will not buy from whirlpool again. Their customer service they have referred me to for repairs is a voice mail only number and the voice mail is full. I have been over two weeks trying to paid for service from this company.

AquaFresh WF288 Refrigerator Water Filter

I can't imagine why anyone would pay full retail for manufacturer specific water filters when this "generic" (Aqua Fresh) one does exactly the same thing for a fraction of the cost.

It works, it lasts, it's a good product. This is the 3rd one I've used over the past 2 years as they need to be changed about every 6 months. (The case with all refrigerator water filters.) If I had bought the Maytag version it would have been almost double the cost.

We own a Maytag Plus side-by side refrigerator/freezer and it is becoming hard to find the proper replacement filters at the local dealer (we've been sent home with several wrong filters). I don't remember the original Maytag part number, but this fits our model perfectly and works well. The price is good too.

I bought this filter to replace a much more expensive OEM filter. It arrived just a few days after ordering, and it installed exactly as the OEM part. It is just a little taller than the OEM part, but in my case that is not an issue. It works great. The water it filters tastes the same to me as the OEM filter produced. If there is an issue with longevity I'll post an update.

We liked this fridge while it worked. It broke after 10 months and needed a new compressor and freon tube. While it was under warranty, Kitchenaid/Whirlpool have terrible service. Why they think 2 weeks without a refrigerator is acceptable is beyond me.

the track fit.it seems to be nice and sturdy.the only problem that i had was the cost,i thought for what was charged that i was getting two tracks but there was only one.still it worked as advertised so that much is good at least.if i could not find a less expensive option somewhere else i would order again.

Engel MR040 Portable AC/DC 12 Volt fridge-freezer (40qt)

I bought this freezer so that I can freeze meats and make ice when I'm camping or on my vacant, undeveloped land. I've been traveling with it for the last month or so, and I can say it works great. It'll freeze a bottle of water over night, and is also cold enough to freeze meats. I've run it off of AC, in my car (plugged into the cigarette lighter), and also off a 12V deep cycle battery, and has worked consistently from all power sources. It'll work just fine even in the heat, especially at the highest setting. At night, or if it's cool, you might be fine using a lower setting and save some power.

The only downside is its weight, but the handles are sturdy enough that you won't have to worry about carrying it around (hopefully with someone else's help).

I just purchased an Engel MR040 fridge/freezer based on the companies' reputation and consumer reviews of Engel. Product looks very durable and cools quickly and relatively quietly.

I bought the unit to install in the cuddy of my boat, to be fixed mounted with the Engel transit slide mount.

Following the instructions that came with the transit slide mount I removed the rubber corner protectors and installed the 4 round mounting feet.

Problems -

The problem is that on the compressor side of the unit the round feet come in contact with bolt heads on the bottom of the unit, and the round feet will not sit flush against the bottom of the unit. I fixed that by notching the feet so that they would clear the bolt heads.

Also, one of the bolts that secures the round feet the unit on the compressor side when tightened makes contact with something inside the unit causing a loud noise from the fan (since the rubber corners were removed I could see that the head of the bolt was touching something inside the unit so I removed that foot and the noise went away so I inserted a spacer between the bolt head and the foot and secured the foot to the unit and now the foot is secure and not contacting the compressor and the fan noise went away.

Engel needs their tech guys try to put together the MR040 with the transit slide so they can address these problems.

The fix could be prenotching the round feet and supply shorter bolts to attach the round feet.

I am not so impressed that I had to re-engineer the fridge, since I spent a lot of money for it, and I'm sure that other not so "handy" buyers would not been able to figure out how to do what I did.

I also was disappointed in the longevity of this product. It worked for about 5 months, then just stopped. I called SAKAR, who said they would send a replacement, but it never arrived. Love how it looks, but it is not worth buying unless you only want one to work for only a few months.

I'm surprised that the other two reviewers' product lasted so long. My wife got this as a Christmas gift from work, and we decided to use it to cool bottles for our newborn at night.

It stopped working after less than two weeks. What a piece of JUNK!

Supco Replacement for GE MWF Refrigerator Filter, 2-Pack

I found the specifications for this filter: (Amazon deleted my link) It is basically a charcoal and particle filter. There is not an NSF stamp on it. It says it is made to NSF standards, however, it has not been tested by the NSF. It's filtration must not be as restrictive as the OEM because it will increase your dispenser pressure and you will fill your glass at least twice as fast. It is made in Hong Kong not China as some have speculated.

The filter was easy to install and worked immediately. It was worth the money spent. I would by it again especially since GE parts are so expensive.

I love these filters. I received them on time from Amazon. They fit perfectly. After I installed I ran 32 oz of water and thru that away to make sure the water was clean. Once I tasted the tasted the water from these filters I would never by the expensive GE MFW filter again. Highly recommend these filters.

I bought this model (WCR683DZD) about 5 years ago. It worked great for the first three or four years. Then, I left the door just slightly cracked two times in the last year. Both times, I found a puddle of water outside the chiller the next morning. Then, about three months after the second time the door was left cracked open, it just stopped working and displayed an E4 error code. I've spent hours searching for any documentation on the cost of fixing this item or steps for repairing the item. I found only two different answers, but neither offers much detail. I called for service and waited, and waited, and waited on hold with no response. Finally, I gave up. Currently, I am considering writing this unit off as trash and buying a competing unit from a reputable company that stands behind its products.

The devil in the detail is that regardless of term, they never payout more than the original item price meaning you could have significant out of pocket expense for what should be a warranted defect during the term.

It's basically a mini-fridge with a wrap-around vinyl decal on the door & sides of the fridge. The decal on the front is peeling around the bottom of the door. It's an Ok fridge, a little pricey, but looks good in the man cave. You'd be better off buying a less expensive fridge & putting the vinyl decals on yourself

We purchased a home and this fridge came with the package. Upon moving in and using this fridge, I would have to say its not to user friendly. I would agree with the other user that the freezer has no room. I am not one to stock up on frozen goods but I can say that their isn't much room in the freezer. Everything has to be stacked on top of each other and it has two slide out drawers that do hold a decent amount but again one drawer is 3 inches from top to bottom. Not much you can put in that drawer (basket). The fridge is unique. Upon looking at it one would think oh wow I have tons of space. The shelves aren't that deep so long items have to be placed sideways which turns into a nightmare of rearranging shelves all the time. I can only fit a gallon of milk on one of the doors. If you wanted 2 containers of juice and a gallon of milk then you are storing your juice laying down. FIne if its a plastic container but not if its a cardboard thing of lemonade. Maybe this fridge works for some people but it doesn't work for my husband and I. I can only imagine the chore I am going to have when kids come along. Might have to go grocery shopping everyday.

Perfect for the single person but not a family of 2 or more that like to eat.

We bought this fridge 6 months ago, paid a lot of money for it, and its already broken. The freezer stopped working, and we lost over 200$ worth of food. Another problem is the water dispenser INSIDE the fridge. Every time you want some water from the dispenser you have to open the doors, which warms up the fridge, so the compressor has to work to cool it down, so it is not very energy efficient. The freezer design, is very poor, and has very little space for one this size. The refrigerator compartments also have the same poor design, that allow for very little storage. We would NOT recommend these Cafe refrigerators to anyone, they are of poor quality and craftsmanship, and are made in Mexico!!! BTW we also bought the dishwasher in this series, and it is also garbage for the price, see are other review for info!
