I can't rate the item (I didn't buy it) but I appreciate the option to buy and install by myself. I just had an appliance repairman do the job and everything (the part and the labor) cost me $390. Took him about 30 minutes to remove the old part and install the new one. If you are handy and have 30 minutes to spare, you can save yourself couple hundred $$.

Wow, I was about to trash the fridge because of not being able to maintain the correct temperature. The new control was extremely easy to install and I saved the $200 service call.

My GE refrigerator was freezing everything no matter where the temperature was set. Found on line trouble shooting and found that the most probable cause was a broken flapper that regulates cold air coming from the freezer. I found the part number, looked it up on Amazon and purchased it. Two days later I had it and installed it in the fridge. Instructions were simple and installation was easy. Works like new now.

I am horribly disappointed at the rate of flow with the first (of three) of these filters I recently installed (April 2013). The flow to my refrigerator's water outlet is less than half the rate I am accustomed to with both the OEM filter and other after-market units I have purchased over a ten year span. I will be forced to tough it out for the 6=month period I typically leave a filter installed and may or may not have an equal opinion of the second of the three I bought.

NOTE: These filter do come from China and that alone may be a key factor in the quality of the product.

Replaced broken slide. Only downside was that no hardware was provided, but luckily I had similar to factory screws on hand.

It's a simple removal of the mounting screws of the defective one and then screwing the new one in its place. Now the container slides smoothly with no problems.

Whirlpool W10190961 Icemaker for Refrigerator

For those of you wondering, this is a real Whirlpool factory certified part. It arrived in a Whirlpool box, and taking the gear cover off reveals the FSP (Factory Specification Part) molded into the plastic. It isn't a Chinese knockoff, which I was worried about, since I also ordered the ice level fill circuit board at the same time and it WASN'T Whirlpool or FSP. Check my other review for that fiasco. In doing more research on these parts, the original Whirlpool or factory replacement icemaker will have a dark gray or greenish ice mold (where the water fills and ice forms). This does have that. The knockoffs will have a white mold instead.

At any rate, I haven't installed this yet, I want to wait to also install the correct ice level circuit board at the same time. Will update my review upon install and confirming this works. But for now, just being a real Whirlpool part earns it five stars.

Update 4/22/13: Installed this today, and within a minute it cycled correctly, making ice cubes later. I now have the "Acceler-ice" function activated to make a full bin of ice as quickly as possible.

It appears that Koolatron did not measure current wine bottles: Forget about putting Sylvaner, Gewuerztraminer, Pinot Gris, Rieslings from France into it (bottles are too long); forget about Alban's (CA) Viognier etc. (bottle has too large a diameter); forget about some Loire Valley whites (again diameter). That's all I've tried before giving up.

This is a great size and runs quiet. It keeps the wine at perfect temperature. The inside light is not very bright and makes it hard to read the wine bottles so I have to turn on another light.

It should come with more settings to give more choices as how cold you want your wine. Some people like their wine colder than others. Than why bother with a wine cooler.

My Koolatron WC08 is only about 2 years old. When new, it performed just fine. If I set it to say 50F, it would stay within one degree of that setting. Later I noticed it couldn't keep up in the summer when the house might get up to 80F inside. Now it can't maintain proper temp at all....It always runs at least five degrees warmer than the setting. This unit is not durable.

After about one year the unit simply stopped cooling. We could hear a fan but no cooling. Since the warranty is only 90 days, we now have a piece of useless junk where we can store bottles at room temperature. Cannot recommend because of poor reliability.

It's basically a mini-fridge with a wrap-around vinyl decal on the door & sides of the fridge. The decal on the front is peeling around the bottom of the door. It's an Ok fridge, a little pricey, but looks good in the man cave. You'd be better off buying a less expensive fridge & putting the vinyl decals on yourself
