So far, so good. The Water Sentinal filter seems to be a good replacement for the outrageously priced refills I've been buying from Sears. I always write a date on the refills when I install them. The Sears filters seem to last about 10 months. The results aren't in yet on my first Water Sentinal filter, but I'm optimistic.

Someone else wrote a review that stated that there is a bad taste (chlorine?) with these filters. I tried them anyway, and there is a bad taste in the beginning. But after we had gone through maybe a gallon of water, the taste is gone. For the next filter, I'm going to try rinsing it off first. And so far, the water is not killing my sensitive plant that needs filtered water, so I guess it's working :)

The part is re-designed from the original... required dremeling edge of proper terminal to fit existing connectors.

I have been wanting a fridge with the pull out freezer. We have had this for just over a month now and are VERY happy with it. A lot of storage in the refridgerator area. We have a deep freezer so the smaller freezer on this doesn't affect us. All you hear with this is the ice maker dropping ice and filling back up. We've had this model for 7 years. Will replace it with a CEE Tier-3 in a kitchen remodel because it doesn't appear to be energy-star, let alone CEE Tiers 1-3. If energy efficiency is not an issue, it's been totally reliable, with plenty of room for pitchers of water, milk, OJ, soymilk, weekly supply of fresh veggies, and the weekly leftovers. Lots of door storage. Freezer handles pizza boxes easily. I did remove all the clear plastic bins which I found constraining, so we've basically got three open shelves in the fridge where we find everything quickly. I'd keep it if it were counter-depth, but it is 31 5/8 inches deep wi/out handle, 32 7/8 inches wide, & 66 7/8 high. The most efficient refrigerators on the market (side-by-sides) run $1400; better value to pay a bit more and get one of those. The refrigerator is the most energy-consuming appliance in the kitchen.

Filter only provides adequate filtering for a couple of weeks, then gets progressively worse in the following weeks to the point where the water coming from the filter produces a strong odor that is far worse than whatever you might detect from the tap. Horrible quality, will avoid ALL products under this brand in the future.

In any of the documentation I have found on this filter at other sites (not enough info on Amazon), it looks like this filter is cheaper as it doesn't filter the same stuff. It states it is tested to NSF Standard 42 (Chlorine, Particulates), but the Samsung model is tested and **certified** by NSF for Standard 42 *and* 53 (Cysts, Lead, Asbestos, Benzene, et al.)

I purchased this item because I read the reviews stating that it is just as good as the OEM DA29-00003G. It left a very bad plastic-chemical aftertaste to the water. I followed the manufacturers directions to the tee. The bad aftertaste remained after several gallons of flushing the filter. I ended up returning them to be replaced by the Samsung OEM filter. I wish I would have had a good experience with this filter because it could have saved me a lot of money.

I needed a small fridge for a "granny" apartment, and I always try to buy Energy Star. In a rare fit of supporting the local independent mom-and-pop store, I bought one of these in July. It took them over a month to get one from Frigidaire.

When first plugged in, it would run for maybe 15 minutes and then stop for at least that long. Took it over a day to get the fridge section down to 50F. With normal food inside, it won't go below 39F even on the very coldest setting. The off-to-on hysteresis is 10F, so at the coldest setting it cycles between 40F and 50F. The freezer will go to -18F if you turn its knob cold, but the refrigerator averages around 45F. If you take out all the liquids and heavy stuff, the fridge will freeze your lettuce to death before shutting off, while still waiting for about 50F to come back on.

It also makes a wide repertory of amazing noises, loud enough to be heard all over the house. Sometimes it is a "boink-boink-boink" sound from the compressor or the gas bubbling. Way louder than the normal soft boiling sound refrigeration sometimes makes. Other times it is a loud buzz from the air circulation fan you can tell because it stops when you open the fridge door. And sometimes it is normally quiet, but totally unpredictable.

The local repair guy keeps replacing fans and sensors, and the behavior changes a bit each time, but there doesn't seem to be a real fix. I'd love to hear from anyone else who has one of these, working well or not! Frigidaire, if you're listening, I'm not very hopeful about hauling this back to the store on my dime and waiting another month to see if a replacement would be any better. I'm thinking serious design flaw...

Almost to the end of the warranty, and no solution yet. Every relevant part has been replaced. Still have to choose, dairy or salad. I can't imagine how anyone signed off on this design! Plus it makes noises uncannily like someone unclicking your door lock in the middle of the night...

This is the worst water filter I've ever had. It actually adds dirt to your water after purging the filter for many gallons. I thought filters were all the same and I decided to buy this because it was cheap. It's a total knockoff of the original (made by Cuno) that came with the refrigerator. No matter how much water I run through the filter (at least 10 gallons so far), it continues to have bits of what looks like fibers floating in it. I've even compared the "filtered" water to tap water from my kitchen sink and the water that passes through this filter is full of these clear, small bits of fibrous debris while the tap water is clear. I live in a major city, so it's not an issue of having dirty water (our water is quite clean, but I need a filter for my water and ice dispenser to operate at all). It costs a lot more money to buy a replacement filter from a reputable source, but I've learned my lesson.

The green water filter for Samsung (DA29-00012A)that I ordered on line is not compatible with my Samsung Refrigerator. The green filter part number matches the standard filter part number that came with my refrigerator and it claims to be compatible on the packaging, but the filter does not seem to form a tight fit and ejects itself from the water filter carriage before it becomes fully pressurized (imagine a water rocket shooting out at you). I ordered two and thought it might just be a defect in the one filter, so I tried installing the second filter, but it didn't work either. I'm in the process of returning and hope to get my money back.

I took a chance and ordered a two pack and followed the instructions from the owner's manual. On the filters box it says to soak for at least 15 minutes. I soaked for 30 minutes and installed, but it took three tries before the filter would remain locked in. I then dumped 10 full glasses of water to make sure water was good to drink. I noticed a high amount of water leaking when the refrigerator's water dispenser was used. I left alone for 4 hours without any ice or water usage, and the cup I had placed under the filter (drip valve) was full and running over. The filter leaked when the water dispenser was used and when it was not being used. I then tried the second filter, but again I had the same results. The second filter I left in for 48 hours with normal water dispenser use to see if anything would change, but it did not... still leaky. I re-installed the old Samsung OEM filter and absolutely no leaks. I emailed the seller 3 days ago so that I can return and get a refund and have not heard back yet from them. I will give them 1 more business day to respond before I file an A-Z claim through Amazon. I will never order their product again.

I ordered this filter because the Samsung DA29-00012A filter was out of stock everywhere I looked. We got this as an alternative for our Samsung refrigerator (RM255LARS). I installed exactly per the refrigerator's manual and a few hours later, came back to a waterfall in the back of my refrigerator. The green filter leaked everywhere. We re-installed the old Samsung filter and the leaking stopped. Returned the green filter.

These filters were a great price, they arrived on time and installed without a hitch BUT I did notice the seals were a tad bit smaller than the brand name filter which caused a leak in my fridge. After removing the filter I wrapped the seals in Teflon tape a few times and reinstalled, they work fine and no sign of a waterfall in my fridge.

These work perfectly fine in my Samsung. They work just as well as the originals and are much less expensive. In fact, I'm having trouble even finding the Samsung branded filters anymore. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again.
