Some time ago I bought a house which had no fridge, and I couldn't afford new so wound up with a 12 year old GE Profile with ice maker/dispenser. The filter that was still in it was an old metal FXRC type, dated June 2000. (Yuck...) I just ran the water line, then found and ordered this adapter along with a new MWF cartridge and--voilà! Clean fresh water and ice, no leaks...perfect. It mounted above the upper shelf to the right and in the back. There was plenty of clearance for the filter/adapter combination.

When stove was set at 350 degrees, handle very hot to the touch, due to vents placed even with handle, oven door very hot to the touch, strip of metal where knobs are placed, can cause 3rd degree burns, area on top where burners are placed, can cause 3rd degree burns. Oven has no firewall built into it, shellac from kitchen cabinets were burned off due to intense heat from stove, wood very hot to the touch. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I strongly urge Whirlpool to recall product before child is badly burned or a house is burned down!

I love this cooktop because I don't have to clean the burnt marks like on ceramic top stove. But it has three faults. 1. Entire top area becomes super hot (can not touch with fingers). 2. On indicaor light is dim so it does not alert the stove is on. 3. Heating coil temperature is lower than my ceramic cook top so it takes longer to heat up. But in spite of these draw backs it rates higher than the ceramic cook top that needed constant scrubbing to keep clean.

I just got this today to replace a GE that cost over twice the price so I will temper my review. The unit sits next to a subzero and the cosmetics match nicely though there are imperfections in the brushed stainless that are apparent if you look closely. My unit came with a very annoying ding in the stainless panel of the door that didn't happen during shipping. I will contact the seller and try to get a new panel or door. The height of the unit is a half inch higher than specified with the legs in the shortest position. I had to remove the legs and get felt pads for the bottom to make it fit under my counter. It cooled right down but is much noisier than my previous one. Shelves are flimsier but perhaps adequate except that there are no side rails! When you pull out the shelf, the bottles on the end can just fall on the floor. Shouldn't be hard to make a fix but the shelf must have been designed by someone that never used a wine frig. Overall it has a pleasing look and so far is doing its job. The bottom shelf doesn't slide out but you can store bottles there, just not see them easily. The spacing of the shelves is actually better than my GE was. Slightly fatter bottles fit any shelf without tearing labels.

Addendum one week later. The seller won't ship just a replacement panel or door but will swap units or give a $75 refund to settle. I am taking the $75 because I don't want the hassle of repacking and shipping just because of a dent. It seems like a fair deal. I found a simple solution to the lack of side rails on the shelves. I cut 90 degree moldings from Home Depot into 16" sections and secured them to the edges existing shelves. Doesn't look bad at all and works great. The pine wood matches the shelves like it belongs there. Can't believe that these shelves were designed this way. The unit is still working fine. It's still loud (even as a built-in) and seems to be running most of the time, unfortunately. Still 3 stars.

After serious research, I purchased this wine refrigerator.

It is soooo loud everyone comments.

The wooden shelves are poorly made and have no sides to brace the bottles.

You risk the bottles rolling out and breaking every time you extend the shelves....

I cannot imagine a worse choice.
