Frigidaire EAF1CB PureAdvantage Refrigerator Air Filter

the filter is in two pieces the center started to slide out it just sits in a compartment dont attach to.

I purchased several of these filters because Frigidaire recommends changing the filter and the refrigerator has a light programmed for a certain time. The filters arrived in several days undamaged and at a bulk price that was lower than stores. Plus, stores that stock the filters are hard to find, making more online purchase easier and less expensive due to the price of fuel.

So one fine day our Kenmore Refrigerator's water dispenser stopped working. So we called Sear and they took 3 weeks to get to your home. When they came , they said that they needed to replace this part and that the total cost of all labor and parts would come too $350. That was ridiculous as all I had to do was add another hundred bucks or so and get a brand new fridge. So we went online and purchased this from amazon.com and then replaced the faulty part ourselves. Mind you we have never done anything like this before and we were so proud of ourselves. The instructions are very clear and it is very easy to replace it.

I'm not mechanically inclined and therefor intimidated by this repair as the original part for my refrigerator was discontinued. This is the replacement part and did not look like the original. Nevertheless, I managed to install this properly with the instructions provided.

Bought this unit back last October and from the beginning have had nothing but issues with it. I have had it serviced 4 times in the last year with now that it is out of warranty by just three weeks and still not working whirlpool has pretty much told me tough you have to pay to have it fixed if we send someone out now.

This saddens me since they claim that there are no recalls on this unit and they haven't had complaints like mine but yet check any of their major retailers on this unit(lowe's, sears) and they are screaming the same problem i am having with not just this unit model but several like it. They have knowledge of the issues with this unit and should not still be selling it to consumers it is unethical. I just have to chalk it up to a lesson learned I suppose.

The main problem with this refrigerator was condensation build up on the magnetic strip of the freezer door. After reading the other reviews I see I'm not alone with this problem. For some reason condensation builds up and water leaks down the middle of the outside of the refrigerator. I'm not sure but that could be the cause of the condensation. When spending this much money on a refrigerator you would think that it would work right.

When whirlpool service the unit they merely replaced the filter tub heater kit which made it work a little. My unit has not made a piece of ice in over a month now with it just being a little over a year old...stay away from this unit and this company if you want quality or to be treated like a important customer cause you will not get either.

Please read reviews on this unit at their retailers website. Lowe's to be exact.

Keep in mind when looking at refrigerators that Whirlpool owns Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and Maytag.

Only advice I would give to anyone thinking of buying this Whirlpool refrigerator is if you buy it you better buy an extended warranty with it

A lot of people don't know why their icemaker doesn't work or stopped working. I figured it out I think -the new design allows the water line to the icemaker to freeze up.

Various brands (we have this Whirlpool, but the Samsungs are the same for example) switched to an icemaker-in-the-door design to free up more freezer shelf space and claim a bigger total cubic feet.

Then they sold it to us, not ready for prime time.

The result reminds me of the Boeing 787 rolling out with the battery/charger operation not tested enough (today the whole fleet is grounded).

But the FAA won't rescue you and me.

After a manual defrost the icemaker started working. I noticed that it froze *AFTER* the bin got full. Easy to figure out that when the water was standing in the line for days, it could freeze.

I reluctantly decided to raise the freezer from -4F to +4F, and am hoping this 8 degrees warmer will do the trick.

But if it doesn't, Whirlpool is going to get tested for their service.

First the ice overflowed, then there was no ice, then overflowed, then no ice. Finally they replace the entire icemakeing unit and it worked!... for six months. Now out of warranty guys will be out again tomorrow and I'm sure it will cost me. I'll get a new fridge before I pay for repairs.

So far we are happy with our purchase, very roomy inside. The only thing is that plastic inside isn't as durable on the doors. Impressive fridge! I use this in my garage gym for drinks after workouts. Since I am in Arizona, it often reaches as high as 110 in the garage and this little fridge keeps my set point at 38 degrees F no problem despite the high heat. Stainless steel construction and leveling feet (with optional casters) shows that it is a quality, well thought out product. Took a few hours to do its initial cool down. Fairly quiet and solid construction. Modern stainless steel construction with the LCD backlit panel should compliment almost any decor. This is bigger than you would think. I measured it all out but once here it is just more massive than I thought. Actually ended up putting it in the basement. That is fine for now next to my chest freezer.

The reason for 3 stars is the doors are slightly out of allignment. Only one day so far and it does seem to work though. I guess it is better just to spend the extra and get a full sized floor standing model, on that note these are not all that cheap.

but... the outer shell is a thin plastic and it arrived with a broken corner.

A 1"x1/2" plastic corner was loose in the bottom of the box but the box was not dented.

I kept the unit because it is not openly displayed. The broken piece was superglued back above the hinge but still shows a crack.

We owned this for around 3 months or so and had it on the counter in a utility/ pantry room, just to keep our better wines. Before long it was showing an inaccurate temp reading and the inside temp varied significantly, it then began making a racket (noisy enough to hear from another room), and then it just stopped working. We threw it out in frustration. Perhaps we got a lemon, and in all fairness, we did not contact Vinotemp to see if they would replace it -for all I know, they may have been wonderful to work with. I'm here shopping for another larger wine cooler now as our collection in this home is growing I am reminded by how disappointed we were with this unit.

Maytag products feature parts that fail faster than light bulbs. You won't have to change the light bulbs inside this fridge because the switches will fail first, or else the circuit boards. Expect to pay for this refrigerator a second time in repair bills. Maytag does not provide any service information so that you can swap out something simple like a door switch. Onsite repairs by service techs will cost you hundreds of dollars for $25 parts. I'm an electrical engineer and all I need is a service manual and I could fix this machine myself. Maytag won't provide me with any support. Their attitude is to screw you and make it as painful as possible.

I will never buy a Maytag product again. Don't make the mistake I made. Choose a competing product with good reviews.
