Electrolux EI24WC65GS IQ-Touch 24" Stainless Steel 46 Bottle Capacity Compact Wine Chiller
- EI24WC65GS
I did lots of research on wine coolers and things to look for when buying one, and I trusted consumer report that mentioned this unit to be least expensive in yearly energy consumption.
It uses 400kWh per year, so they calculated the average yearly cost to run the unit to be $47 on average. In NY, of course, it would be a double, but it is still good enough than paying $400+ a year for a dual temperature unit or a unit that is cheaper and more compact.
As the previous review stated, the unit is made in USA and Canada, which is refreshing. YAY!
In general, the unit is quite sturdy; although on a heavier side, its pieces/parts are not flimsy. Sliding racks are super smooth. Bordeaux and Pinot Noir bottles fit with no problem.
It is tiny tiny bit loud when it is running, but we have an old GE fridge (over 15 years old) standing next to it that has been making noise for some time, so now they both can make noise together. I am used to it, so unless you are very sensitive to this type of noise, you may want to pass on wine cooler all together. They all make some noise, period!
Bottom line, I just got the unit. Not sure how it will run in the long run, but I will update this review once there are any changed/news.

We had looked for a wine fridge for a long time before settling on this particular one. Love the look and it holds as many bottles as it says it will. Love everything about it but the only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is that it is a little loud when it is running. Definitely worth the money though!Again, we spent time searching for an appliance made in the U. S. or Canada. All Electrolux products are in fact made in the U. S. or Canada, we loved this cooler so much that we bought other appliances made by them and love them all. Looks good, works good and does not require an engeneering degree to install and operate it.Delivery:Anyway, delivery was a challenge, wrong day for starters. They called on the Monday to say it'd be Wednesday not Tuesday. Given for me it's a 2 hr drive north and a vacation place I've been fixing up for years, not the most convenient thing. The caller told me it was because the truck broke down. The delivery guy said it was because of the Jewish holidays. Then they "got lost', and instead of the 2:00pm to 6:00pm delivery window I got it in the dark at 9:00pm.
Furthermore they sent a box truck that was too large for our hill road, which I'd specifically told them about, not mentioned in the notes, but they did manage to write "stairs" on the order. More on that later. I ended up getting it onto my pick-up in the dark and the driver refused to leave the truck, so the other guy came with me and we got it into the house and then the company charges $25 per 7 stairs that as he was on his own I just said that's enough, I'm not paying to help you carry it down the stairs, so I left it in the box. It did work out with "free" delivery and no State sales tax $300 cheaper than Lowes, but a lot more traumatic. So I went up again last weekend to unpack it and make sure it works within the 30 days
So the Electrolux seems to work well. It can handle 46 bottles, but looses two bottom shelves for a "Display" angled shelf that you can have lit. I tend to prefer to have all the bottle's at an angle that ensures the cork stays moist. This still might be ok. The end of the shelves are metallic, not wood.
It's a little loud when running, but they all make some noise, I don't notice it and it shuts off when at the correct temp, which it reaches pretty quickly. There is a charcoal air filter, which I'd don't really see the need for. Running costs are estimated at $45 a year.
Overall I'm pleased. If you live in a regular location and have no stairs it's a good deal. I ordered from HcCost. It wasn't the cost pushed me to this over Lowes but the fuss they made when I tried to order with them online and by phone. At least with Amazon and it's resellers you click a button.I have had this device for 1 week.
1. It seems to work as advertised. It came undamaged and the shipper HCcost was great!
2. The door requires a great deal clearance on the side to open correctly. BE WARNED. Look at detailed specs.
3. Door opens from left to right (hinge is on the right) Plan for the additional room required!
4. The unit DOES NOT come with a door conversion kit to change the hinge from the right side to the left. If you want the kit, it is approx $117 from electrolux. This includes a couple of brackets, and plastic covers. In my opinion, for a $1500 wine cooler, this is unacceptable. The customer service folks offered a 10% discount, but $105 plus s+h for two brackets, and plastic bracket cover in my opinion is a complete ripoff. For that I unfortunately can not recommend this unit. The cost of the conversion kit is a deal breaker.

Frigidaire FFU21F5HW 21.0 Cu. Ft. Upright Freezer - WhiteFrigidaire FFU21F5H 2
- White 21.0 cu. ft. upright freezer
- Frost free operation
- Ready-Select controls with upfront display
- Automatic alert if freezer door is left open or temperature rises
- Store-More capacity freezer
There was nothing wrong with our old freezer (25 years) other than it wasn't frost free, and my wife was tired of defrosting it, hence the new frost free unit.
The unit worked great. Couldn't be happier. Until.. after 5 months, my son was awakened to the alarm. It had quit working. Wasn't happy, but these things Do happen. Called the number on the freezer, and was told they'd send someone out. However, being as we live out in the country, they only send someone out once a week. Wasn't real happy about that but what can you do?
So the driver finally gets there days later, and diagnoses it needing the electronic control module. Which of course... he doesn't have on board; he'll have to order it. Not happy, but again, what can you do? So he orders it, has it shipped to our house. However, it will be another week before he can come back. Finally, the part comes and the tech is called, and we're back in business. An ordeal for sure, but at least that's over, right?
WRONG! Four months later, the unit dies again! And it's the same song and dance all over again. This time I question the tech about being a recurring problem with these models. He says they "Usually don't have a problem". Here's where the "fun" begins. He "tests?" the outlet it's plugged into. and claims it's faulty. Says the "Voltage in bleeding from the hot lead to the grounding wire". Interesting. Other than that being impossible (It would trip a breaker) I installed that outlet myself. It is a stand alone circuit to the box, and I am an electrician by trade. Nonetheless, I check over the circuit again, and no problem
Anyway, it was running again, but only two months left on the 12 month warranty. I called Frigidaire only to find out that they are now owned by Electrolux. Told them I've had 2 food losses and we both know this thing is going to die again. What are they willing to do about it? Nothing. Their response is basically, "It's warrantied for 12 months, and we've fixed it, so we've done all that's necessary."
The seller refuses to do anything about it either. Up till this point, I've been polite, but persistent, but the message is clear. We got your money; you're on your own.
A week before the warranty ran out, I called them again and said there was a problem again. Again, they called the tech, the tech called me, and said he'd have to make a service call again. I told him, "Look, we both know the problem is the control board. Can't you just order it now, and come when it arrives?" He reluctantly agrees and a few days later, I have another board. Mind you, the freezer hadn't actually quit... yet. But at least I now have a control board on hand.
Four months later, it dies yet again. This time I have a spare board on hand, so I don't have yet another food loss. (It only takes about 10 minutes to put the board in) I don't bother to call the tech out. If I had, I'd have suffered a food loss. As a precaution, I order ANOTHER control board to keep on hand ($55, plus shipping)
Last week, I had to put THAT one in.
So in closing, I've now had FIVE control boards in less than three years. I emailed Electrolux again, and asked if there was anything they would do about it. I received the form letter that basically said.. "If anything fails, it usually does it within the warranty period. after that we can't/ won't be responsible."
I'm looking for a RELIABLE freezer to replace this 3 yr old unit. Before I have to buy the SIXTH board for this freezer.
Potential buyers? Look elsewhere. We got 2 of these they're terrific! Very big inside, holds a lot. We also ordered 1 more in September. We have them cranked up to 7 and are excellent. The other day I accidently didn't close one all the way and it beeped to let me know something was wrong good feature. We'll buy another when needed. Thanks!

Not much to say, when i bought this I was concerned it would be poor quality and a problem. Not so far, its big, efficient and works great all at a low price. I have only had it a few months but so far so good, the big question is how long will it last!Want Frigidaire FFU21F5H 2 Discount?
I was holding off on writing this review in the hopes that my Electrolux Online Outreach Representative with Major Appliances, North America would take ownership of my problem and assist me with my issue. It is now March 26, 2013, almost three months since my freezer slowly began cooling ability and I still do not have a working unit. Purchased November 27, 2012, delivered December 3, 2012. Started losing cooling ~first week of January (after the retailer's 30 day return period). No problem I thought as I've been able to successfully navigate warranty issues with other products and appliances on the rare occasion that problems have arisen. I attempted to initiate a warranty service call request. The 800 number listed does not offer any way to speak to a live representative and has numbers for outdated/out of business service providers in my area.

Message Sent to Anyone at Frigidaire / Electrolux willing to listen (via Facebook and E-mail):
Since January of 2013, my Upright Frigidaire Freezer Model #FFU21F5HW & Serial ######### has not been cooling and I have been attempting to get warranty service. Each time the service rep comes out, I am being told that a new problem is happening. All my items in my freezer have now gone bad and I still to date have no idea when and if my freezer will be repaired OR replaced.
After multiple attempts at getting an initial service call with an authorized Frigidaire repair technician, on February 4, 2013 I was told while the tech was at my home that the Board and Thermistor were bad and would be rush ordered. One entire month passed before they returned and that was only after multiple phone calls to the local warranty repair company. At that visit, I was told that the Board and Thermistor were no longer/not/never were bad and that the coolant system was bad at which point they would need to order an exterior mounted cooling system that would have to be WELDED on to the backside of my freezer. That was on March 5, 2013.
Each time I call to inquire about the status of my repair, I am told that while a rush order has been placed for my parts, Frigidaire parts delivery and fulfillment are on a constant state of backorder and they have no control or clue when my specific parts may arrive. I did not purchase a freezer with the intention of having extra parts WELDED to my freezer in order to get it to work but was told that I have to go through multiple repair visits on this freezer before a swap out can be performed.
I have been without a working freezer for close to three months.

Problems happen. It is how a company responds to these problems that really sets apart the quality companies from those that should be avoided. Unfortunately given my circumstances and inability to get my current freezer repaired or replaced, Frigidaire / Electrolux does not appear to fall into the category of a company that takes ownership of problems in a speedy and efficient manner.
Very disappointed. Our Frigidaire died today ..after only a few short years. Lost tons of food including some great salmon and halibut a friend who had gone deep sea fishing had recently given us. Won't be buying another Frigidaire.

Amana Refrigerator Door Gasket 12550115Q
the seal was worse than I took off there is still a gap in the door and we followed instructions.
It is not the easy to replace but that could be a manufacturers issue.Worked like a charm. Sized just right for our application. Directions were easy to follow and the real trick is the blow dryer to soften it up a bit to get it to lose the wrinkles and seal tight.

No need to buy the name brand. Im on my 6th water sentinel filter and never had a problem that I didnt cuase. Only thing to watch is sometimes the red "O" ring stays in the fridge unit from used filter. If you try to put new filter on, it will leak with two "O" rings inside. But that would happen with name brand also. Water taste GREAT!!!Want Water Sentinel WSG-1-4P Replacement Filters, 4-PACK Discount?

Amana 14.4 Cubic Foot Top-Freezer Refrigerator, A4TXNWFWW, White
- 14.4 Cu. Ft. Total Capacity
- Reversible Door Swing
- Up-Front Temperature Control System
- Dairy Center
- Wire Freezer Shelf
Here enters a lovely, pure white Amana. This fridge is smaller than our old Wretched Rectangle of lukewarmness and it has a top freezer instead of a side by side freezer, the novelty of this is kinda fun, no more stooping down to dig a bag of tater tots out of the bottom shelf. The freezer space is pretty small, but it doesn't really matter because we bought a chest freezer last year because the old attached freezer stopped working (sheesh, I can't believe what we put up with and for so long!).
Anyways, the interior space of the refrigerator is probably slightly smaller than our old Frigidair but with the added bonus of it actually working, no more frozen salads, salsa and lunchmeat, just perfect temp food its all win win as far as I'm concerned.
The interior has two adjustable shelves and two large drawers, one I use for meat and cheese and the bigger one for vegetables. If you make the shelf above the drawers the tall shelf, you can really maximize the space because near the top part of the interior space, there is some kind of motor'ish interruption (my fridge descriptive powers are failing me) that sticks out and breaks the top space into two and so you can't store tall items across the top shelf. This isn't much of a problem and so far, even my overstocked fridge is keeping up with my crazed food purchases.
This fridge is the second large appliance I've ordered online, the first was a chest freezerGE FCM5SUWW 5.0 cu. Ft. Chest Freezer White like this one (we didn't order this one, ours is a Holiday brand) and we ordered it from Lowe's. When they delivered it it wasn't in a box and it looked kinda scratched up for a new appliance, once we plugged it in it smelled BAD. Really bad, it smelled like rotten meat and we had to get the Lowe's people to take it back and bring us another freezer (they really didn't want to do this and acted very nasty about it), this second freezer was pristine and lovely and best of all didn't smell like Texas roadkill.
What I'm getting at is, I was kinda worried about ordering another major appliance after our icky experience with Lowe's. I'm happy to report that our Amana arrived clean and roadkill free. The guys who delivered it were fast and professional and within a couple of minutes we'd signed for it, plugged it in and stuck our heads in to breathe in the clean, never-been-used-before appliance smell, what a heavenly experience and totally hassle free, no pesky appliance salesmen and no waiting in line!

We are a family of 4 and desperately needed an additional fridge. After much research we narrowed it down to this one and a GE model. We went with the Amana because it gave us a little more storage room at about $50 less. We have had it for over a year now and we love it. It is very quiet with lots of room for extra milk, juice, frozen foods, etc... Its the ideal garage fridge as it its not too overbearing with size snd it is not that small either. We usually store 4 extra gallons of milk (one weeks worth in my family), 4-6 OJ containers, 24pack of soda, 2 dozen eggs and much much more. And then there is the freezer too.I received within 4 days polite carrier, called first, and brought to the door. Great quality. Fit the small space.Tuesday, August 20, 2013

This is the only wine refrigerator I have found (for under $1,000+) that actually lets you store riesling bottles without putting them in at an angle. By removing a shelf you can even store over-sized champagne bottles. The shelving is very nice, looks very classy -not sure why some people on other sites have said the shelves are flimsy. Really makes me wonder what the heck they plan to put in this little wine cooler! I think the size is great -almost as high as my kitchen cabinets. The range of temperatures is excellent, as it goes down to 41 for whites and that's a little cooler than some of the other appliances go, but it's exactly what I wanted. Dual temperature control is a wonderful thing!
I thought I wanted one of the newer thermoelectric-style coolers because they allegedly were silent and didn't vibrate your wine (both arguments sound like marketing hype to me after doing a lot of research and I'd REALLY be surprised if my wine is going to be vibrated to the point of ruining it -I'm buying wine to drink, not as an investment), but anyway, I discovered that most of those coolers didn't have a temperature setting as low as I could get with this type.
The refrigerator isn't silent, but it isn't really noisy ... definitely not as noisy as the last one we had (which was only an 18-bottle cooler). It has pretty little blue (they aren't what I'd consider white, as some descriptions say) LED lights that will stay on all the time if you want to show off your wines. I like the way it looks and it seems to intrigue our cats, so the lights go under the PRO category. I would definitely recommend this appliance.
PROS
Holds 38 bottles of wine
Seems well made
Very attractive
Wide range of temperatures
Price
CONS
Had to buy more wine to fill it up ... wait, let's put that in the PRO category! ;)
Haven't found any cons yet.

The item arrived in a broken, torn and wet box. The item is dented in at least 5-6 places including the handle which is totally visible.I am not sure if the item sent to me is new or somebody's return. This is not expected from Amazon especially for an Amazon prime member. I am really disappointed and am now struggling with the replacement .... I don't have a box to ship it back in as the one it came in is totally trashed in shipping. I am hoping I will be allowed to ship this in a box which arrives with the replacement fridge.

What a disaster! Product came with hinge and door handle broken (and according to the manufacturer not fixable). After a hassle talking with the manufacturer, I was redirected to Amazon. Replacement was sent and had exact same damage. What a mess! I had to waste time and energy on this. Had to get someone to help me lift both items into place (100 feet plus stairs) and back to door for return. I have better ways of getting a work out. Absolutely don't waste your time buying this product. The packaging or product design is clearly faulty. Buy a different product from another manufacturer or buy at your local retailer and have them deliver so you know it is not damaged.Arrived with the door broken off, just like the other reviewer said. It's packaged very thinly, and there dents and what not all over. It still works, and I put the door back on despite the broken pieces. When the compressor kicks in it's pretty loud and the temperature control is not terribly good.
There's no way it actually holds 38 bottles, some of my cabernet bottles (heavier and slightly larger) don't even fit on the shelf, and in general any slight bottle size variation means you either can't pull a shelf in/out or you can't fit the right number of bottles on it.
