Assembly is fairly simple, anyone with basic knowledge of hand tools should have no problem. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get it put together and running, the one thing I would advise any owner is to take your time and learn the pieces of the dispensing system while you assemble it. This is critical in understanding how everything works in order to be able to trouble shoot any issues should they arise.
The unit comes with a 2.5lb C02 tank that I was able to get filled up for less than ten bucks. I recommend a local paint ball shop since they are better equipped to fill this size of tanks up. Welding supply shops also work.
Once everything is assembled and it was plugged in it turned right on and gave a silent hum as if to let me know it was on. Even with the compressor cycling on and off it still maintains a very minimal noise level.
After allowing the refrigerator to operate with no keg in it for 24 hours I decided to give it a test drive. The first keg used was a Pony Keg of Budlight. After letting the Keg sit and cool in the Kegerator for another 24 hours it was time for the first pour which resulted in nothing but foam. After doing a bit of trouble shooting I realized I had opened the valve on the C02 tank all the way for max flow. This resulted in over pressurizing the keg. To fix this I closed the valve and adjusted the regulator to having it near closed. I then pulled the pressure release pin on the coupler releasing the built up C02 in the keg. The next glass I poured came out perfectly pure golden bliss with a decent layer of foam.
About 40 minutes layer I tried to fill up a pitcher of beer and was presented with a near perfect pour. This was more than enough of evidence that there was a consistent pressure and was at an optimal level for consistent pouring.
I purchased the black unit after a side by side comparison the stainless steel definitely would look great in someones kitchen. The reason why i did not purchase the stainless steel unit is because i preferred the black exterior. The chrome guardrail and stainless steel spout add a nice touch to the overall exterior of the unit. Cleanup is easy and was simple with just a bit of standard surface cleaner. I was also able to change out the tap handle with a standard Brewing Company handle.
Keg's that have been run through this unit: Pyramid Hefeweizen, Budlight, Budweiser, and Dos EquisI guess I should have known this unit would be made in China, thus the reason it seemed so reasonably priced. I bought this unit from another source so Amazon is not reflected in this review at all. The unit had minor damage from its long journey. The instruction booklet is a joke. You get a bag of small rubber washers and parts of various sizes with no cross reference to where they go. If they told you thickness and diameter of the washers relating to where they go it would have helped. The Co2 line is very small diameter and possibly inadequate. The biggest problem is unit will not get beer colder than 45 degrees at best with the thermostat maxed out. I won't go into the support or lack thereof since Amazon was not involved in this transaction. My advise, look at another unit or do your own conversion making sure to get a thermostat that will get beer cold. For the price, this is a great buy. I've read mixed reviews, but had no trouble with mine. The beer is staying the right temperature, the Co2 is tricky to figure out, but would be on any keggerator I think. Very happy with this!Got this for super cheap as I think the company is trying to clear them out.
Here is the deal, this is a cheap kegerator. It will preform as well as any kegerator

You read a lot of reviews of wine coolers being too loud or do not cool properly. This may be a direct result of people not reading directions. When you move a refrigerator of any kind the unit is supposed to be kept upright. The reason for this is because there is very thick lubricant (oil) in the compressor unit. If the refrigerator has been moved, stored, or delivered sideways the oil must be given time to drain back into the compressor properly. If your unit was just delivered to you and the box is upright then you have to assume that it could have been on the truck for several days. This means the oil is not in the correct position in the compressor to be turned on as soon as you bring it home. The box this unit was shipped in is large and will more than likely have to be put on its side to fit in your vehicle. The instructions with this unit clearly state not to turn the unit on for a few hours to allow the lubricant to settle properly. I allowed for three hours to pass before plugging the unit in. Additionally, my wine was in my regular refrigerator and already cold when I put them in this cooler. This takes the unit less work to get the temperature down. This unit is very quiet and is keeping the temperature steady. You can hear the fan but during a normal conversation or with the tv on you have to really listen for it. For the money, this is a very nice and attractive unit.Read Best Reviews of Spt Thermo-Electric Wine Cooler with Heating, 12-Bottles Here
I just got this yesterday and set it to 57 and it works perfectly. I just purchased some reds and opened door stacked them in there, fit perfectly and the temp didn't budge. I had a cheap (1/2 priced) 6 bottle Emerson that worked well for 4 years, now it won't cool down, it is being affected my our Indian Summer heat, which it never mattered before how hot my place got. This new one looks soooo much better, very quiet, no complaints at all, so far. I will do another post if anything changes, but so far I love it. Btw, it is positioned exactly next to my old one. So the placment is the same, and staying at a cool 57! Exactly where I want it. It is about 68 in my condo right now.Want Spt Thermo-Electric Wine Cooler with Heating, 12-Bottles Discount?
Have had it for a month or so with no issues. The light is a nice touch at night looking for a bottle.Runs quietly and with 12 bottles in it keeps wine at 51 degrees (lowest setting) which is a great "chilled" temp.I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at this model when it arrived over a year ago. I had room for bottles with the corks placed back in, in addition to having room for wine stoppers as well. It also remembered where the thermostat was set to in the event of a power outage. It would go back to the setting once power was restored.
HOWEVER...Unit died right after the 1 year mark. Doesn't it always happen that way?
Take it for what its worth.

Amana 14.4 Cubic Foot Top-Freezer Refrigerator, A4TXNWFWW, White
- 14.4 Cu. Ft. Total Capacity
- Reversible Door Swing
- Up-Front Temperature Control System
- Dairy Center
- Wire Freezer Shelf
Here enters a lovely, pure white Amana. This fridge is smaller than our old Wretched Rectangle of lukewarmness and it has a top freezer instead of a side by side freezer, the novelty of this is kinda fun, no more stooping down to dig a bag of tater tots out of the bottom shelf. The freezer space is pretty small, but it doesn't really matter because we bought a chest freezer last year because the old attached freezer stopped working (sheesh, I can't believe what we put up with and for so long!).
Anyways, the interior space of the refrigerator is probably slightly smaller than our old Frigidair but with the added bonus of it actually working, no more frozen salads, salsa and lunchmeat, just perfect temp food its all win win as far as I'm concerned.
The interior has two adjustable shelves and two large drawers, one I use for meat and cheese and the bigger one for vegetables. If you make the shelf above the drawers the tall shelf, you can really maximize the space because near the top part of the interior space, there is some kind of motor'ish interruption (my fridge descriptive powers are failing me) that sticks out and breaks the top space into two and so you can't store tall items across the top shelf. This isn't much of a problem and so far, even my overstocked fridge is keeping up with my crazed food purchases.
This fridge is the second large appliance I've ordered online, the first was a chest freezerGE FCM5SUWW 5.0 cu. Ft. Chest Freezer White like this one (we didn't order this one, ours is a Holiday brand) and we ordered it from Lowe's. When they delivered it it wasn't in a box and it looked kinda scratched up for a new appliance, once we plugged it in it smelled BAD. Really bad, it smelled like rotten meat and we had to get the Lowe's people to take it back and bring us another freezer (they really didn't want to do this and acted very nasty about it), this second freezer was pristine and lovely and best of all didn't smell like Texas roadkill.
What I'm getting at is, I was kinda worried about ordering another major appliance after our icky experience with Lowe's. I'm happy to report that our Amana arrived clean and roadkill free. The guys who delivered it were fast and professional and within a couple of minutes we'd signed for it, plugged it in and stuck our heads in to breathe in the clean, never-been-used-before appliance smell, what a heavenly experience and totally hassle free, no pesky appliance salesmen and no waiting in line!

We are a family of 4 and desperately needed an additional fridge. After much research we narrowed it down to this one and a GE model. We went with the Amana because it gave us a little more storage room at about $50 less. We have had it for over a year now and we love it. It is very quiet with lots of room for extra milk, juice, frozen foods, etc... Its the ideal garage fridge as it its not too overbearing with size snd it is not that small either. We usually store 4 extra gallons of milk (one weeks worth in my family), 4-6 OJ containers, 24pack of soda, 2 dozen eggs and much much more. And then there is the freezer too.I received within 4 days polite carrier, called first, and brought to the door. Great quality. Fit the small space.Saturday, July 27, 2013

BACKGROUND
We used to have a wine fridge in our old apartment that was by Marvel. We tried to save some money this time but are regretting it.
THE GOOD
The shelves look good and slide in and out well
Bottles fit well on the shelves
The light is cool
THE BAD
The fridge is always straining and putting out a ton of heat
At least twice a month the fridge trips the circuit breaker
The control buttons are too attractive to our kid and she cannot stop pushing them
The control buttons can also be pushed accidentally by an adult simply by leaning against the counter top
The temperature fluctuates wildly even when no one is pushing the buttons
The blue light of the diodes on the control panel are so bright they light up the entire kitchen at night
SPECIAL NOTES
1. Be sure not to use an arc-fault breaker on this circuit as it will blow daily
2. Note that the installer will have to work very hard to secure this unit. After much work, ours is still slightly loose.
3. If you need a wine fridge for cooling multiple cases of wine before events, during which you are going to go through those bottles, and then you are going to turn the unit off until you prepare for the next event, then this unit is probably a good one for you. If on the other hand you would like to keep some decent bottles of wine at a constant temperature, this is not your unit.
COMMENTS TO OTHER REVIEWS
We cannot speak to repair as ours has run for the first 6 months; granted it keeps throwing its breaker but the fridge itself runs as long as it has electricity. And we give this unit one more star than the minimum because it does have *some* redeeming factors. That said, this unit is an example of getting what you pay for. Pay more for another brand and it will work better (Marvel in our experience), probably saving you electric expense along the way and certainly taking better care of your wine.

I have a previous generation of this wine cooler (model wc5100) and do not recommend it or the Avanti brand. First, the product has no humidity control, so when I adjusted the temperatures on purpose (for white or red wine) or by accident (there is no way to lock the temp control buttons, so they are a magnet to little children, and are easy to turn off accidentally during cleaning or just brushing up against the unit) condensation formed on the bottles and all of the wine labels fell off! Second, there is no way to lock the controls, which is a problem for the previously mentioned reasons. Third, the fan motor broke 6 months after the 5 year warranty expired. Last, the customer service was absolutely terrible. When I called for help within the first warranty year, on the condensation problem, customer service was completely disorganized and seemed to have no method for dealing with customer concerns. Although I always spoke to the same person, she never remembered me or my issue. So each time I called, I had to explain to her who I was, what my problem was and what steps she had previously asked me to take to address the issue. She also seemed to have no idea how to even proceed to solve the problem, and would send me in different directions each time I called, none of which, solved the problem. After 12 months of dealing with customer service, and making no progress whatsoever, I finally gave up, even though my product was under warranty. Although I lived with the condensation issue for 5 years, now the motor is broken and I will buy a new wine cooler definitely NOT an Avanti. I do not recommend Avanti products to anyone due to this experience.Read Best Reviews of 54 Bottle Built-In Wine Refrigerator Here
I bought the previous Avanti 54-bottle model. I had finally decided to write a review, but just found out it was discontinued (hopefully for the right reasons, which were many). So this review may not necessarily apply to this specific (and newer) model. However, the looks, size, and functions seem to be substantially the same.PROS:
This Avanti wine cooler is good looking and functional. It has a decent size, which allows it to fit nicely almost anywhere in my apartment.
The transparent windowed door allows you to see your wines and mixes well with the rest of my home environment.
The wine cooler has electronic controls, which makes it very easy to use and set its temperature.
The cooler has different compartments that make wine organization easy. It even has a relatively bigger lower section where you can fit bigger bottles (e.g. average 750 ml champagne bottles).
CONS:
The cooler's performance was very disappointing. The fan/motor broke twice within a 13 month period. The first time it started making noises. At the beginning those noises would go away after a few seconds... these seconds soon turned into minutes. A few days later the vibrations and noise were unbearable and wouldn't stop, unless I unplugged it. Soon not even that did the trick. I just had to permanently unplug it. Period. When that happened I decided to call Avanti's customer service. It was poor. It took 3 calls to get them to agree to send someone over to fix the problem. A couple of months after the cooler was supposedly fixed the problems started all over again. This time Avanti argued the warranty had just expired and refused to come back. Fixing it will now cost $250! That just seemed wrong.
So, after all my excitement when it first arrived, I am now the not-so-proud owner of an Avanti "wine display" that makes plenty of noise when turned on.
In summary, don't be fooled by the looks of the Avanti line of wine coolers. Unless Avanti has significantly upgraded the quality of its products and customer service, I would urge careful consideration of an alternative. Good luck!

I purchased an Avanti wine cooler for my renovated kitchen. It was installed in July 2010 and quit working in early November 2010. Avanti sent a repairman who told us that it would take anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months to get parts. Follow up calls to Avanti are unanswered or go to a voice mail box with no response.Follow call to the repair service who told us that as of late December 2010, Avanti cannot give a date when parts will be available. Do not buy this product!Bought two of these, one didn't work at all and the other works poorly.
Unfortunately, both warrantees expired before the boxes were even opened due to renovation delays.
Avanti not only did not care, they refused to give me the name of an authorized service for repairs!
When I called a service they said the repair would cost almost as much as a new one due to the lack of freon.
