Samsung : DMR57LFS 24 Full Console Dishwasher - Stainless
- Twin Cooling Plus System with Surround Air Flow
- Power Freeze and Power Cool
- Cool Select Pantry and Cool Tight Doors
- In-Door Ice and Water Dispenser
- Wine Rack
My initial problem was that the installer did not level it properly and the door would rub when closed, a sign of an inherently weak "box" structure. Once that was fixed we noticed that it did not clean very well. After three more service calls, adjusting the cycles, amount of detergent, water temperature, loading patterns, etc. the tech. called the factory support and took it thru a built-in diagnostic routine and stated that all was working properly.
I called Samsung service for about the seventh time and eventually they offered to do a like-for-like exchange. I considered that but then remembered that the tech. had declared that the old one was working properly...what would a like-for-like exchange gain me other than more dirty dishes and wasted time? I persisted and eventually got a refund from the store.
I immediately went out and bought a Asko (a brand that has performed very well for us in another home) online that was a new item but a couple of years old. The price was about the same, but the Asko actually...if you can believe it...got the dishes clean (and it took about and hour less than the Samsung and used less energy!).
Several weeks later I went to the store where I returned the Samsung and saw my Samsung dishwasher (white) and another (stainless) for sale, cheap! Samsung has managed to make a dishwasher series that looks good but failed to perform the primary objective...clean dishes.
Too bad they don't give the Zero stars as an option.

If you own the Samsung DMR57LFS then I do not have to tell you that out of the box it is the worst unit you have probably ever used. I was not able to return mine and the Samsung doesn't have great tech support. In fact I never received the extended warranty from Samsung, wonder why!! The dishes stay dirty in the unit and here is how I fixed it. I noticed that the grinder blade was chopping up "some" of the food and sending it back through the pump over my dishes, the blade was also causing a siren sound from scrapping against the pump screen. I removed the blade altogether as I still had food particles even with it installed. I use the Finish Tablets and the Jet Dry. I ran my unit and presto clean dishes. No more food particles being washed back onto my dishes and being "baked on" from the hot water. Just make sure to buy the replacement sump cover gasket as the hot water makes the old one stretch out. Many dishwashers do not have the hard food cutter and now I know why. This worked for me and I am glad I did it. Just remember with the blade in food has to get chopped up and it causes resistance on the pump motor, I do not need to replace a motor, that means taking the unit apart. Also the push buttons do ware away. place a warranty call ASAP and get it replaced before it goes out of warranty, the new one has been upgraded with a coating and will not ware off. The cooking oils take the lettering off because Samsumg either forgot to clear coat them or used a bad dye. Good luck and next time I recommend buying a well known dishwasher brand. I was sold on the stainless tank but it is not worth sacrificing the overall operation.Read Best Reviews of Samsung : DMR57LFS 24 Full Console Dishwasher - Stainless Here
We purchased the Samsung DMR57LFS dishwasher about 6 months ago and it was the most overpriced and underperforming appliance I've ever seen. It broke down over a month ago and I'm still trying to get it repaired. Samsung service is almost non-existent and they keep running me around and not fixing the problem. If you're thinking about buying one of these DON'T! I couldn't post this without clicking a review star but it's not even worth the one star I was forced to give it.Want Samsung : DMR57LFS 24 Full Console Dishwasher - Stainless Discount?
I bought this dishwasher and a microwave by Samsung a few years back. Worst decision I ever made. They look nice and seemed to have good features. The microwave spontaneously caught on fire, and potentially could have burned my house down. The dishwasher is being thrown out after it has broken for about 7 times now. All of the issues mentioned in the previous reviews, sensitive control panel, poor cleaing, etc are all the reality. I will NEVER own another piece of Samsung junk.Originally purchased in late 2009, so we have some run time on these appliances. This is the worst dishwasher we have ever owned. Looked great and our expectations were high. We've owned Whirlpool, GE, KitchenAid, and Maytag over the years. The Samsung does not get the dishes clean. The rack started deteriorating after two years. The silverware falls through the bottom of the basket and damages the wash arm (cut holes from knives or forks). The rollers constantly come off the racks. We essentially need to rinse the dishes near-clean before putting them into the machine. The refrigerator, oven, and microwave we bought as a package are just as bad. The microwave sounds like it is vibrating to pieces, the dutch door refrigerator has pieces breaking off (especially the freezer), and the actual oven temperature does not match the control setting. I could go on and on. I am so sorry we did not buy a US brand this time. The best dishwasher we owned was a Whirlpool and we are are going back. Do not be lulled into buying Samsung. The US brands like Whirlpool and Maytag, while not as flashy, still work better and last longer.

LG : WM3001HPA 27 Front-Load Steam Washer - Platinum
failing with "out of balance" errors. I called a repairman given to me by LG service, and
he told me that he had tried to repair these machines before, and they didn't get better.
I called LG and asked for a factory service repairman this time.
LG sent a LG factory repairman. He kept coming back each week for over a month, each time
replacing something different on the washer, but with no change. They even told me that it
might be my fault, that the floor wasn't "stiff" enough, despite the fact that it had worked
fine for a year, and that I had previously had a front load washer in the same spot without
issue for 10 years. I spent a lot to reinforce the floor, and the machine was no different.
At last, they told me they were giving up, they didn't know how to fix it. I have never had
anyone tell me they didn't know how to fix their own product and were just giving up. They
told me they would "buy it back", for a sum prorated for the life of the washer since it
was out of warranty.
They picked up the unit. I have yet to see a dime from LG. Every week I call them and it is
something else, the machine got shipped to the wrong place, the paperwork got misplaced, etc.
I am convinced they are trying to slow pay it.
I expected better from LG. This is a top of the line washer. It is also the last LG product
I ever buy. Everything points to the machine being an inherent lemon.

Kitchenaid KBCS24RSBS Freestanding or Built-In Architect Series II
- Offers 3 zone chilling for personalized use
- Contemporary design flatters decor
- Removable racks provide custom storage options
- Capable of storing up to 22 bottles of wine
- Adjustable thermostat allows for complete temperature control
The unit looks excellent installed, and the two pull-out shelves shown in the pictures are stain-grade wood. I haven't stained mine to match our cabinetry yet, but it is on my to-do list! Using the fridge is as easy as setting the temperature dial, deciding what units you want the temperature displayed in (centigrade or fahrenheit) and loading it up.
So far the unit has kept temperatures right at the design spec at maximum cool. The cold section remains 37 (98% of the time), the white wine drawer (there's only one of these) stays at 48, and the red wine section which is one pull out shelf and one crappy wire shelf at the bottom that comes out but not easily stays a nice 57 degrees. I have not put in my own thermometer to check the accuracy of the displayed temperatures, but by going on feel alone the wines and beverages are at the correct temperatures.
The bottom shelf design is what keeps me from giving this unit 5 stars. It would have been so nice had Kitchenaid designed the fridge so that the bottom shelf pulled out like the two wood-front shelves shown in the picture. The two wood shelves slide out nicely on rails. The bottom shelf rests on the bottom of the unit, has rubber pieces on the sides, and is a pain in the rear end to pull out when loaded with wine bottles. There are two 'stops' on each side of the bottom that have to be overcome to get the shelf out far enough to read the bottle and/or get the wine out easily. Bad design, and really one of only two things I can find fault with.
The second issue, which may or may not be by design, is that the temperature will rise on it's own (without using the fridge or adding room temperature beverages to it) to approximately 43 degrees in the cold section. It does this periodically almost as if it's a normal cycle to remove moisture. It doesn't stay at this temperature for very long, but it does do this on a somewhat regular basis. That being said, 98% of the time the cold section is 37 degrees plus 1 or 2 degrees occasionally.
When loading the unit with canned drinks, wines or other beverages after a store run, it really doesn't take very long to cool things back down. The temperature will noticeably rise for a short time with the warmer items, but not for long.
As I stated above, we're going on almost two years, and the fridge has been a wonderful, useful addition. I waffled back and forth about getting a wine refrigerator or beverage center, and I'm very glad we went with the beverage center option.
If it keeps going another year or more without needing repairs I'll be happy. I have read a lot of negative reviews on wine refrigerators. Reliability does seem to be an issue, even with some Kitchenaid models. However, not even Viking or $3000 brands are without their share of negative reviews. Crossing my fingers that we'll get many more years use out of this great little unit.
I'd recommend this to anyone refinishing a kitchen or simply adding an area for a bar. I would not use this outside even under a covered porch. It's simply not designed to withstand the elements in that way.
Good luck in your search, and if it ends here I don't think you'll be disappointed!
Update: December 3, 2012. The Beverage center is still performing well. The temperature of the cold section stays between 37 and 39 most of the time, but still rises to 41 for a short time every few days. Still pleased with the purchase, and I'd still buy it again.

For the money being saved it's worth it. It took several days before it was completely flushed-since this was the first time I had used I was terrified that I had ruined my refrigerator. But after days of spurting and making terrible noises, it's working fine. Doesn't seem to fit as well as a "name brand"--sits at a slight angle.Read Best Reviews of AquaFresh Repl Filter for Whirlpool 8171413/NL200, 2-Pk Here

Just a cheap piece of filter material. You have to cut it to size. Won't stick to velcro. Never again.Read Best Reviews of Idylis Replacement Carbon Pre-Filter 302656 By FUSA Here
If you are able to cut through the mesh-type filter, and are accurate with your measurements, you can get two filters instead of one. The original filter had more velcro on it than the replacement. I ended up removing the Velcro tabs from the old filter and placed them on the new one. Still not and ideal situation.Want Idylis Replacement Carbon Pre-Filter 302656 By FUSA Discount?
I bought this because I had to replace my old, nasty looking carbon filters. It is annoying that you have to cut the filters to shape, but I am able to get 2 sets of filter replacements out of my purchased piece. I used a rotary blade to cut the filters it was quite easy. The only difference from original filter is that you have to cut it to size. A little larger is better than smaller.Monday, August 12, 2013
