GE WR57X10050 Water Valve for Refrigerator
Much cheaper to order the part from here than the company. And not hard to replace by yourself. 5 StarsThe valve is precisely the right one for our fridge which, due to failure of the original valve (6 years old) resulted in a massive icemaker leak and flood. A repairman said the icemaker needed replacement and probably the motherboard, but I tried to use the KISS principle and Kept It Simple Stupid. I first replaced the least expensive element, which solved the problem of continuously flowing water far more cheaply than the repairman's suggestion (which wouldn't have helped at all). As it turned out, after studying available documentation I was also able to repair the icemaker by re-engaging a spring to a cam (disengagement prevented proper operation of the ice sensing horizontal-sweep arm which thus initiated operation of the failing valve that did not shut off water flow). After a number of months, the replacement valve continues to operate as expected.
