LG 5231JA2006A Refrigerator Water Filter, 2-Pack

LG 5231JA2006A Refrigerator Water Filter, 2-PackFilters arrived as expected. Work great. Hardest part was finding out which filter matched the Sears/Kenmore Part Number I needed. For those who might be curious, purchasing these instead of the Sears-packaged version saved only about $5 per filter. Not much, but also saved driving to nearest Sears store. PS: these are the same filters as the Sears #9990 filters for the Kenmore "Trio" bottom-freezer refrigerator

I ordered these filters because the description implies that it has the same filtering performance of the the 5231JA2006B filter. The seller claims they are the same, but according to my research they are not. The paperwork inside the filter box of the 5231JA2006A filter does NOT list the same performance as the paperwork inside the 5231JA2006B filter box.

Buy LG 5231JA2006A Refrigerator Water Filter, 2-Pack Now

The price on this item appears to have gone up by about $20.00 in the last two weeks. These are the same exact filters sold by Sears for use in their high-end Kenmore Elite's (built by LG in 2005). I compared build, quality, part number, and packaging. However, when I purchased them they were about half the price compared to sears (I bought a two-pack).

Installation is via a simple twist-lock method. So, if you are replacing the filter for the first time, simply push and twist to remove and push and twit to install. Do not call Sears to do this. They charge a significant fee. For those who have a whole house water filtration system, or an inline (to refrigerator) filtration system (I use a Culligan good water reverse osmosis), the filters should last TWICE as long at the least. I have had many people argue that I do not need a water filter at the refrigerator if I have another system in place. I disagree. I like the idea of a backup in case of equipment failure.

We purchased the refrigerator in July of 2010. In Feb 2011 I ordered new water filters. Right after I installed them, the water began to taste like an old dish rag. I ran gallons of water through the filter, but the taste remained. I replaced the filter thinking maybe I had a bad one. The taste came back. It's only in the water -not the ice. Until I have another excuse, I am blaming the filters. I saved a few bucks but bought the taste.LG 5231JA2006A Refrigerator Water Filter

Water Sentinel WSI-1 Refrigerator Replacement Filter

Water Sentinel WSI-1 Refrigerator Replacement FilterWe use this filter and it makes our ice cubes and water taste clean and fresh. I currently live in a rental house and the set-up used for this filter makes it a cinch to switch out. The filter lasts roughly six months with our usage. It's my husband and myself and we use the ice maker approximately twice a week and the water from the refrigerator weekly (not daily).

Rusco Spin Down Separator Sand / Sediment Water Filter 100 GPM - PWFSS20

Rusco Spin Down Separator Sand / Sediment Water Filter 100 GPM - PWFSS20This is a great product! I am using this to filter fine clay sediment from an artesian well (#100 mesh screen). It totally beats filters with replaceable cartridges( being an ongoing expense) and is easy to clean by backflushing.

I purchased the largest filter, 2" in and out, to replace a smaller filter of the same design which had been in use for 20 years. The only problem with the smaller filter being the need to flush it 1-2x weekly with high water use. The large filter doesn't require this; 2-3 times annually. (or whenever I think about it)

Because I am profoundly lazy, I rigged an electric solanoid water valve to the 1/2" flushing port. I can flush the filter by pushing a button in the utility room...

I Installed this on the well we water the garden and blueberries with, filters the sand and sediment out to prevent stopping the drippers up. Easy to flush out. If you have sand this is what you need.

Wagan 2577 Personal Fridge/Warmer - 7L Capacity

Wagan 2577 Personal Fridge/Warmer - 7L CapacityBought this item through Amazon which they shipped 7 Jun 2012. Today 20 Aug 2012 I phoned the Wagan Corp to let them know that their item was faulty. I went on to explain that the DC adaptor cord was faulty and the fridge would not work, they said the cords that came with the item are not coverd by their warranty. The warranty in the manual did not disqualify any thing being exempt from the warranty. Would suggest not buying from a company which does not stand behind their products as shipped.

We just used this item on a two week trip. Our purpose was to keep some medication cool and have cool water. It worked on both counts within minutes the inside is cool. Remember to unplug it at night. It apparently only took about six hours to drain an Explorer battery. (It was still cool inside in the morning.) Lesson learned. These things cool to about 40 degrees below ambient, so in an air conditioned car it worked great. During short stops (up to two hours) we left it on and even though the inside car temp got to 100F the cooler was able to maintain a good cool environment. For what it is, and for the power it draws (45 watts or so?) it does the trick. It's not a refrigerator it's a cooler and for that it saved us from having to buy ice on the trip. I'm very happy with it. If the unit had more insulation is world be less useful because it would take up two much room in the car the size was just right for our needs.

I bought this cooler for a family road trip. Just before we left I filled it with 6 bottles of orange juice from the fridge the night before and put them inside. They were still nice and cool when we drank them. There was still plenty of room for yogurt, string cheese and apples for the kids. I love how it helps us save money and eat better by bringing our own healthy snacks from home instead of stopping for fast food when the kids get hungry. The cup holders are a nice addition too.

My wife and I had to make a 5 hour trip to a neighboring state to visit family. We had medication that needs to be kept refrigerated and at the hotel/motel we were staying at over the weekend, they did not offer a fridge in the room. So instead of getting a cooler and playing the "dump and refill the ice" game, I opted to purchase this product. As some other users have pointed out, this is a cooler, not an actual fridge. Perhaps calling the product a "personal fridge" could be misleading. The price was decent, compared to some others out there and it does keep things cool (have not yet tried the warmer). Our jeep had a cigarette lighter plugin that still pumped out power when the jeep was turned off, so in short instances where we had to stop for dinner/lunch, the cooler kept on working. One thing to note in the instructions, it does say not to leave it plugged in that way and make sure you unplug it before starting the vehicle again this little cooler does suck some battery power.

I ended up having to buy a converter to be able to plug the power into the wall socket from a cigarette lighter. DO NOT USE the converters that are used for cell phones! They do not output enough amps. I made this mistake and it melted the converter that was plugged into the wall. Wagan does sell a converter that is made this product. Since I was already in the middle of my trip, I bought a similar converter from the local W-mart and picked up a Coleman branded converter. It worked and the cooler kept the meds cool for the next 2 days without incident. For what I bought it to do, it did the job well. The only cons to this product is that the product looks and feels a little cheaply made and labels that are placed in the front of the switches, looked like it was (crookedly) placed there by a child. Other than that it is a decent product.

Whirlpool Part Number W10187053: Sleeve, Motor ShaftI have Kitchen Aid's KFPW760 food processor and the inducer sleeve broke. I found this item and was happy that it was so cheap. It's a special order item, but it did come eventually. Removal of the old one was really difficult, but once I got it off, the new one went on without a hitch and works.

Water Sentinel WSS-2-3 Refrigerator Replacement Filter, 3-Pack

Water Sentinel WSS-2-3 Refrigerator Replacement Filter, 3-PackI bit the bullet and ordered this based on the part number of WSS-2-3. They ARE WSS-2 filters. See bottom of this review for WSS-2 specifications from Water Sentinel. The listing part number is correct, however the listing description is incorrect.

The description in the listing is as follows:

"From the Manufacturer

This Water Sentinel WSS-2 Replacement Water Filter for the Samsung WSF-100 contains a compressed carbon block which provides tremendous capacity to remove and/or reduce impurities and sediment that may be present in your drinking water. The carbon block has millions of active sites on its surface and within the structure which can absorb impurities like a sponge, and can adsorb and hold other types of impurities on its surface like a magnet. Additionally, this filter can catalytically breakdown other impurities very similar to the way a catalytic converter works in your automobile. These processes ensure that you are getting the cleanest and best tasting water possible. The WSS-2 filter will fit Samsung Refrigerators that use an external refrigerator water filter.

This is not a replacement for the WSF-100, nor is it for use on refrigerators that use an external water filter.

From the Water Sentinel website

"Replaces: Samsung DA29-00020A, DA29-00020B, 04609101000, 09101, 46-9101, 469101, 9101, DA-97-08006A, DA-97-08006A-B, DA-97-08006B, DA29-00019A, DA2900019A, DA2900020A, DA2900020B, DA97-08006A-B, HAF-CIN, HAF-CIN-EXP, HAF-CINEXP, HAFCIN."

I got these to replace Samsung DA29-0020A/B and they are as advertised by Water Sentinel.

Ordered on Friday evening, on my doorstep today (Monday).

I purchased these to replace DA29-00020B for a Samsung RFG297HDRS French door refrigerator. They are about 60% of the price of the Samsung equivalent. I've had the filter installed for a week and it works great. It installed easily, without leaks.

They are made in USA, unlike Samsung's which are imported. Also, they use compressed charcoal, which I believe is a better filtration method than Samsung's which is a particle filter only. Charcoal filters absorb organic impurities, so the water tastes cleaner. I can't comment on the 6 month life expectancy yet. The instructions note to run 3 gallons of water before using, or until the water runs clear, but in my case the water was clear from the start (I still ran a gallon through it).

I have a Sam Sung model RF4287HARS and the filter works although not perfectly. As another reviewer pointed out, the diameter of this filter is slightly smaller than the original filter. Therefore the filter floats within the mounting area. The mounting end (gasket and mount) are identical so it does lock and seal perfectly. I cannot detect any difference in the taste/quality of the filtered water so if you can sacrifice perfect fit for equal performance then this one's for you.

Read Best Reviews of Water Sentinel WSS-2-3 Refrigerator Replacement Filter, 3-Pack Here

This review is to point out an important fact: This filter ONLY removes/improves taste and odor, and removes some particulate matter (like rust or other small debris). Therefore, it is not a equal replacement for the Samsung Aqua-Pure DA29-00020B that ALSO reduces the following contaminants: 99.00pct of Asbestos 96.70pct of Benzene 97.40pct of Chlorine Taste & Odor 99.99pct of Cysts 99.30pct of Lead at pH 6.5 99.90pct of Lead at pH 8.5 98.00pct of Particulates (Class I) 99.10pct of Turbidity 94.60pct of Atrazine 99.00pct of Lindane Fluoride is not reduced.

So if your water source has been tested and is free of these contaminants (especially lead), this would in my opinion be an acceptable cost effective replacement.

Want Water Sentinel WSS-2-3 Refrigerator Replacement Filter, 3-Pack Discount?

Much cheaper than the Samsung brand but I should have been wary from the start when the filters diameter is a bit smaller than the Samsung filter. It twisted in and felt like it sealed ok but about 3 days later the freezer drawer was having issues closing. Turns out I had about half an inch of ice covering the entire bottom of the freezer cabinet that the drawer ended up scraping against. So I blamed the only thing that had changed and that was the water filter. I then remove the filter and checked the rubber gaskets, they looked fine so I put it back in carefully. I checked for leaking and did not see any.

That night at around 2am my mother in law calls upstairs saying the kitchen is flooded. Flooded might be a bit much but it soaked 3 beach towels.

I have two more filters and am debating on if I should try those with the assumption it was a bad filter. The problem is that going cheap with something that can leak is generally a bad idea. What if I went on vacation and came back to massive water damage. Even a few days would have caused tens of thousands of dollars of damage. We had a plastic quick connect break on our old fridge and that is what is cost. Good thing insurance covered it but what a pain to fix.

Do yourself a favor, if you go with these filters, keep an eye on them for a week or so. If you do go away for a while it might be a good idea to turn off the water anyways. Oh and NEVER use plastic connectors on water lines!

Haier HVZ035ABS 35-Bottle Capacity Extra large Wine Cellar, Black

Haier HVZ035ABS 35-Bottle Capacity Extra large Wine Cellar, Black
  • Heavy duty brushed metal handle with flat glass door with blue gray tint and graphite trim
  • Adjustable dual electronic flexi zone with an automatic setting for red and white wine
  • 5 flat wire vinyl coated storage reacks and 2 half depth racks
  • Dual function LED readout with soft interior lighting
  • Leveling legs and a automatic door stop

NICE CONCEPT, BUT I WOULD THINK TWICE ABOUT BUYING HAIER.

This is a nice compact wine cooler. The top shelf will go down to 43 degrees (if it is working) for 10 bottles of white and the bottom shelf will go down to 56 degrees for 25 bottles of red. It is a small size that can fit into a corner. It is a good height, being about the height of countertop. You can take shelves out so you can store magnums.

The unit has adjustable feet for leveling, but there is not adjustment available. It is easy to unscrew a foot all of the way out, and then it is difficult to screw back in. I ended up putting a coaster under one of the feet to level the unit.

BUT IT IS VERY POOR QUALITY.

When I got the unit home, I found it had a broken door and would not seal. The manual says, don't return the unit, but call for service.

Haier contracts out the service to the same company that does home service calls for Sears. I called and someone came within a week. They found that the door was broken and needed to be replaced.

A new door was ordered from Haier. It took about 3 months for a door to come. Haier sent 2 doors, because both doors were badly chipped. I guess they felt we would just choose the one that was the best. Then Haier sent out 3 more doors, each one worse than the next.

I was getting nowhere with Haier, so I sent an email to the company headquarters in China. I finally got some action, and Haier said they would replace my entire unit.

I did get a "new" unit. It was kind of dinged up, but the door sealed.

Also, some of the shelves do not stay in place.

After about 30 days of running, the unit will start making a lot of noise. There is actually a thing in the owners manual about this. It says if the cooler starts making noise, unplug it for a little while. Of course, this is a bid pain, if you have the cooler up against the wall and the plug is not easy to access. It means about once a month, you need to empty the wine cooler, move it out from the wall, unplug, wait and push it back.

After 5 months, this new unit stopped cooling on the top shelf. I called Haier and they said it is no longer under warranty, since I purchased the unit over a year ago. But, the first unit was bad for 7 months and not really usuable. I've only had a "working" unit for 5 months.

I am now going to appeal to corporated headquarters and see if they will do something about it.

I bought this dual-temp wine fridge about 2 months ago, and so far everything has been great. It came assembled for about $60 shipping, set up in a minute, and has been quietly keeping my white and red cool since.

The unit is pretty large make sure to check the dimensions. It's attractive in black with a silver bezel around the glass door. The two LED temp displays are bright blue almost bright enough to be a night light.

Setting the temperatures is pretty easy. It works like setting your average bedside alarm clock. I chose to have the top (smaller) portion at 46 for white and the lower (larger) portion at 62 for red. I haven't tried putting my own thermometer in to test the temp, but the digits rarely deviate from what I set them at, even during the 80+ degree days at the end of the summer.

In terms of noise, it's relatively inconspicuous. When the compressor turns on, there is a hum but it's not enough to bother me at all in my mid-size living room, even while working or watching a movie. This was one of my concerns to begin with and this product makes the grade. Silent would be better, but I'm very content.

I haven't had it long enough to test more than a few wines that have been stored in the fridge, and that'll be the real test. We'll gave to wait and see, but expect the results will be favorable. Overall, I'm quite satisfied.

This product is terrible. It was given to me as engagement gift by my parents and after one month it stopped cooling in the top chamber. After getting a replacement unit the new unit is now also no working. My dad also had problems with his. We have gone through 4 of these things. Haier should be ashamed selling defective products like this. I will never buy another Haier product ever again...

It has been an up and down road so far with this fridge. I excitedly arrived home to see my new wine fridge waiting for me at my front door. To my dismay it looked like the box had been badly handled either from FedEx or from the Amazon warehouse. After fighting it down my basement (it I pretty heavy you are better off having helped to move it) I was nervous about unpacking fearing that it may have been damaged. To my surprise the refrigerator was in perfect condition and it seemed like the box took the brunt of the beating.

Got it out of the box, plugged in and ready to go. The controls are pretty straight forward to use and you can easily set the temperatures for the two zones. i have not yet put a separate thermometer in the fridge to test the accuracy of the digital read outs but my guess is the are close within a few degrees. It quickly cooled down to the set temperatures and I fully loaded in my wine. The wire shelves are decent for supporting the wine but they are basically useless in trying to slide them out to see what wines are on each rack.

After loading the wine I closed the door and realized that the light would not turn off. After further detective work I realized that the switch at the bottom of the door was broken and was leaving the light on. After jamming a piece of paper into the switch I was able to turn the light off. Pretty disgusted that I had to call Haier the very first night of operation to get a service tech. The first woman I spoke with was an absolutely miserable human. She literally made me hang up and call back because she could not wait 30 seconds to get the Amazon receipt. They are VERY particular that the information you give them on the phone EXACTLY matches the sales slip. Frustrated I called back and spoke with a nice gentleman that was much for helpful. They scheduled me a service call a few days later. The repair man is supposed to be here today, we will see how that goes.

The Haier is in the basement so noise it not of real concern to me, but it seems to be extremely quite. Relative to the beverage fridge I have next to it, it is pretty silent.

Size is very spacious, as you can easily fit 10+ bottles of red on the top, it is really made for 10 on the top but there is room to stake on a second row. Bigger bottles are tight down below but the bottom to shelves to a nice job of handling the larger bottles like a chardonnay.

As I said for the price I don't think you can find a two-zone of this size cheaper. I would recommend this Haier.

Refrigerator was delivered with shattered front glass door. I believe it was shipped that way because outer box was in perfect shape. A return/exchange through Amazon was arranged. It's not easy to pack one of these back up. Replacement unit has cracked front door frame near the hinge. Getting no where so far with Haier for replacement door that was promised 4 months ago. All done with Haier products and large items from Amazon.
