Dryer Vent Vacuum Cleaner Attachment

Dryer Vent Vacuum Cleaner AttachmentThis product is not terrible, but I am not sure if it is the best dryer vent cleaning system out there. I was reluctant to get a vent "brush" because I couldn't imagine how a long-handle brush could get all the way down the vent and pick up excess lint...I was pretty sure that a brush would miss areas. The most attractive feature about this product is that you can attach it to your vacuum hose and literally suck out all the lint and other dirt/dust/crumbs/hair/tissue/etc. that could not be caught in the lint trap. My dryer's lint trap is located on the top of my dryer...it is a small flip open top and you basically pull out the long, rectangular lint trap.

The product is basically as shown in the photo...although I imagine it is easier to clean a dryer like the one depicted in the photo. One third of the attachment is a hard plastic tube that fits over your vacuum hose attachment, and the rest is a soft plastic (bendable) hose that actually does reach all the way down my dryer's lint vent. I have also found that this vent vac hose can be used to vacuum other areas of the house that the traditional vacuum hose attachment cannot get to. Examples: under the refrigerator and other various appliances, a/c vents, in small crevasses or under furniture pieces that are close to the ground. The concept of this tool is great, but there is one problem.

When shipped by the distributor (item does not come from Amazon), they packaged it so badly that by the time I opened it up, the hose was very bent...to the point where it created two large creases on the soft plastic hose. I left it out in the sun for a while to soften up so I could re-shape it, but the creases still remained. While this isn't a huge problem, when using the vent vac hose, it has a tendency to close itself off at these creases...thus, airflow is stopped. I had to pull it out of the vent several times to re-shape it but it would continue to do so. After a while, I decided to put my hand down the dryer vent as far as possible to hold the plastic hose at the point where it would pinch itself off...and that did seem to help. It was pretty annoying, however.

All in all, a great concept and I suppose that if it is packaged/shipped with more care, the problem with the hose closing itself off would not happen. The price is right, however, and I was still able to get plenty of lint out that probably had been stuck in the dryer vent for years...so it did do the job, it was just a trying process at times.

I ordered and used this product. I couldn't even use it once because the hose part of the product kept collapsing on itself, disallowing air to go through it. It did NOT work. Even using my fingers to hold the hose open, it barely created enough suction to clean my dryer. Do NOT order this product.

Product did not work successfully as advertized. When connected to a vacuum cleaner, the product collapsed inwards from the machines vacuum, blocking off all flow of the vacuum.

I can't imagine that this worked for a single person. While it fit nicely over my vacuum tube, the curved hose was made of drainage hose, not vacuum hose, because it was not corrugated, it simply closes in on itself and has no possibility of working. This product sucks, and not in a good way. I'm returning it. Don't buy it.

Due to the length of the hose, it has to be folded up for shipping and arrives with kinks in it. The kinked areas close up and cut off the suction from the vacuum so the lint cannot be sucked up through the hose. The lint just got stuck in the end of the hose and wouldn't go up the hose into the vacuum.

GE ZDWC240NBS 24 Wine Chiller, 57-Bottle Capacity

GE ZDWC240NBS 24 Wine Chiller, 57-Bottle Capacity
  • Designed to install easily into 24-inch, standard-depth cabinet cutouts.
  • Monogram Refrigeration Modules integrate seamlessly with different lifestyles and design needs.
  • Dimensions: 23 3/4"W x 34 1/2"H x 23 3/4"D.
  • Limited 5-year sealed refrigerating system parts and labor.
  • Limited 1-year entire appliance parts and labor.

I bought a house with this refrigerator already installed. Looks nice, but the quality and functionality is really poor. The drawers are fairly narrow so any wider bottle of wine or most sparkling wines don't fit in the shelves. You can remove a shelve, but then it looks kind of odd. After a few years (about a month after the warranty period,) the compressor failed. The serviceman quoted the repair at $950!!!!

At the end of the day, this thing is really expensive for a what it is -a small refrigerator with a few sliding shelves. That it's so expensive with such cheap quality is beyond me.

I have never offered up a product review before. First, this is a very good looking appliance. And while I was never able to get anything near 57 bottles in it it was an attractive addition to the kitchen. However, after only 4 1/2 years service an appliance repairman quoted a cost of $800 $1000 to replace the compressor which in his words "was shot". For the premium price I paid for it I wasn't expecting to see it out on the curb waiting for trash removal so soon. I would like to caution anyone considering purchasing this product.

Similar to other reviews we bought condo with this fridge already installed long bottles don't fit (including the longer beer bombers as well), the compressor failed and warranty was already expired. Service man was very expensive, and his advice was it wasn't worth the expense of fixing it. He made some minor tweaks instead, so now there's a wall of snow on the back wall and it freezes things inside. How can GE get away with selling this garbage.

As previously mentioned, large bottles don't fit. And, after four years it stopped working. GE changed $100 to tell us that it would be $700 to fix. For what this costs new one would think that it would last many years. Not worth the pice.

The GE 57 bottle chiller does not hold 57 bottles. We had a hard time stufffing 45 standard wine bottles into it. The unit is overpriced and does not hold the bottles as stated. It is basically a $250 drink refrigerator with shelves for wine botles. Once it is cooled to temp, it does not make much noise as it does not come on that frequently good for the electric bill! The drawers do pull out all the way, and the unit appears as it should. I researched all coolers between 50 and 170 bottle capacity, and if I had to do over, I would purchase a much larger unit. There are many for a lot less money with the same chintzy warranty.

LG Kitchen Series : LFX21980ST 20.5 cu. ft. Counter-Depth French Door Refrigerator

LG Kitchen Series : LFX21980ST 20.5 cu. ft. Counter-Depth French Door Refrigerator
  • Performance - Multi-Air Flow Cooling System Freezer - IcePlus accelerates ice production for up to 24 hours and lowers the temperature in the freezer Style and Design - Premium handles to match the kitchen package design

Looks nice but ... a carton of milk on the top shelf and a 2L coke on the door had chunks of ice within a day. I raised the temp setting to 39, then 40 degrees and waited 48 hours, same problem. I called LG Customer Service, I was told that was to be expected since cold air vents were located in those places. Their solution is to put my milk on a lower shelf. I called back and talked to a different rep, identical response. Neither rep would connect me to a supervisor. Although the 2nd rep did offer to schedule a service call, it would be at my expense since they consider that to be normal.

LG customer service was so bad. I felt like their purpose was not to help, but rather to get me off the phone. Both reps gave such similar responses, it seemed as if they were reading from a script.

I finally did got the refrigerator repaired, but only after I filed a dispute with my credit card company. At this price point, it shouldn't be this frustrating to get service.

DO NOT buy ANY LG refrigerator...... EVER !!!! They are plagued with problems that can NEVER be fixed... even with an extended warrantee. The freezer fans runs continually while the elements behind the back panel freezes solid around the fan. The noise that comes out of the fan running against the ice pack can keep anyone awake all night .

RUN dont walk away from ANY LG piece of shi? French door refrigerator !!!!

This is a great fridge, don't overpay for the newest and latest fridge, save money and buy the last "version" of the fridge.

Not only Energy Star rating, its HUGE!

Water tastes great and the french door is useful as well.

It even "beeps" to tell you if you have left the door open for over 20 seconds or so...

Wine Enthusiast Silent 28 Bottle Wine Refrigerator (Stainless Steel)

Wine Enthusiast Silent 28 Bottle Wine Refrigerator
  • Stainless Trim Door
  • Silent Cooling Technology
  • Temperature range: 54-66F
  • Exterior Digital Controls w/temperature display
  • 28 Bottle Capactiy

We purchased this wine cooler from Wine Enthusiast a month ago to replace a larger Danby cooler that we had used for a little over four years. The Danby suddenly developed a fatal flaw that could not be fixed (the temperature kept increasing and could not be controlled). Needless to say, we were not interested in buying another Danby product. To control energy costs and conserve space, we looked for a smaller model, and the "Silent" model from Wine Enthusiast looked like it would fit the bill. We also liked the size, because we were considering placing it in our kitchen. When it arrived, we decided that, to keep the kitchen uncluttered, we would place the cooler in the laundry room, and we're glad we did. This model is by no means "silent." It has been installed with plenty of room on all sides, seems to be keeping a fairly steady temperature (plus/minus 1 degree of setting), but it does have a noticeable hum. In fact, it makes more noise than our kitchen's Amana refrigerator. The unit looks attractive, but you should be aware that larger bottles (particularly Burgandy-shaped bottles--those wider at the bottom than the top, and most champagne bottles) will not fit in this unit. In fact, even to load or remove standard Bordeaux bottles, you have to pull the tray partly out and carefully jiggle it back in. I guess that's the price you pay for the unit's compact size.

I purchased this wine cooler and it worked fine until about 2 weeks after the warranty expired. It is now a useless piece of junk that will cost more to repair that it is worth. Don't waste your money.

I used my AMEX points to buy this unit and was extremely disappointed when, after only 7 days of use, it developed a fatal error. The screen went black, and it began omitting a loud chirping noise. However, since I had discarded the packaging, I was SOL on getting it replaced. Instead I'm having to go through the warranty to get a repairman out to my house to fix it. Total nightmare.

First this is misnamed as it isn't silent, it hums. I wouldn't call it annoying, but I wouldn't lie and call it silent either. Secondly, and more importantly the selves are too tight to fit the majority of the bottles of wine I own apparently you need to specifically purchase bottles with smaller bases if you want to use this refrigerator (per their customer service). Since that isn't how I purchase my wine, I find that very annoying. Every time I want to pull out a bottle I need to use two hands to yank out the shelf and both the shelf above and bellow come out with it I then need to make sure none of these fall to the floor. When I push those back in the shelves rip off the labels, that is irritating too. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone with customer service and they told me that is the way it is so my recommendation is DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Save 9% Off

After having this Wine Enthusiast 28 bottle unit for 14 months, the unit quit. After calling Wine Enthusiast, due to the way the thermocouple works, it is not repairable. Waiting to see what happens. Do not recommend the buying of this unit. It is quiet, but long term performance is not acceptable.
