Dryer Vent Vacuum Cleaner Attachment

Dryer Vent Vacuum Cleaner AttachmentThis product is not terrible, but I am not sure if it is the best dryer vent cleaning system out there. I was reluctant to get a vent "brush" because I couldn't imagine how a long-handle brush could get all the way down the vent and pick up excess lint...I was pretty sure that a brush would miss areas. The most attractive feature about this product is that you can attach it to your vacuum hose and literally suck out all the lint and other dirt/dust/crumbs/hair/tissue/etc. that could not be caught in the lint trap. My dryer's lint trap is located on the top of my dryer...it is a small flip open top and you basically pull out the long, rectangular lint trap.

The product is basically as shown in the photo...although I imagine it is easier to clean a dryer like the one depicted in the photo. One third of the attachment is a hard plastic tube that fits over your vacuum hose attachment, and the rest is a soft plastic (bendable) hose that actually does reach all the way down my dryer's lint vent. I have also found that this vent vac hose can be used to vacuum other areas of the house that the traditional vacuum hose attachment cannot get to. Examples: under the refrigerator and other various appliances, a/c vents, in small crevasses or under furniture pieces that are close to the ground. The concept of this tool is great, but there is one problem.

When shipped by the distributor (item does not come from Amazon), they packaged it so badly that by the time I opened it up, the hose was very bent...to the point where it created two large creases on the soft plastic hose. I left it out in the sun for a while to soften up so I could re-shape it, but the creases still remained. While this isn't a huge problem, when using the vent vac hose, it has a tendency to close itself off at these creases...thus, airflow is stopped. I had to pull it out of the vent several times to re-shape it but it would continue to do so. After a while, I decided to put my hand down the dryer vent as far as possible to hold the plastic hose at the point where it would pinch itself off...and that did seem to help. It was pretty annoying, however.

All in all, a great concept and I suppose that if it is packaged/shipped with more care, the problem with the hose closing itself off would not happen. The price is right, however, and I was still able to get plenty of lint out that probably had been stuck in the dryer vent for years...so it did do the job, it was just a trying process at times.

I ordered and used this product. I couldn't even use it once because the hose part of the product kept collapsing on itself, disallowing air to go through it. It did NOT work. Even using my fingers to hold the hose open, it barely created enough suction to clean my dryer. Do NOT order this product.

Product did not work successfully as advertized. When connected to a vacuum cleaner, the product collapsed inwards from the machines vacuum, blocking off all flow of the vacuum.

I can't imagine that this worked for a single person. While it fit nicely over my vacuum tube, the curved hose was made of drainage hose, not vacuum hose, because it was not corrugated, it simply closes in on itself and has no possibility of working. This product sucks, and not in a good way. I'm returning it. Don't buy it.

Due to the length of the hose, it has to be folded up for shipping and arrives with kinks in it. The kinked areas close up and cut off the suction from the vacuum so the lint cannot be sucked up through the hose. The lint just got stuck in the end of the hose and wouldn't go up the hose into the vacuum.

Electrolux Icon Professional E23BC68JPS 36 22.6 cu. ft. Counter-Depth French Door Refrigerator

Electrolux Icon Professional E23BC68JPS 36 22.6 cu. ft. Counter-Depth French Door RefrigeratorWe just replaced all of our kitchen appliances. Quite frankly, it was not a pleasant experience. To begin with a conclusion, if your appliances are working fine, think twice before replacing them.

This frig was purchased to replace a 16 year old Amana side by side that was quiet, cooled well but bore the marks of age.

This Electrolux Icon was already 20 months old when it was delivered. We had been told it was being built for us as there were several delays in receiving it. When I called the first time to get service, I was refused warranty due to the age of the product. When I told them I just bought it, I was put on hold for about a 1/2 hour. Then a short return, put on hold again and another 1/2 hour wait. Finally I was able to register the product and begin the process of getting it repaired. Not a good start and the beginnings of my suspicions this frig had been owned, and registered to, someone else in the past.

As delivered:

Large dent in door running from the top of the door to the bottom.

The other door had a large swirl mark in it.

Ice maker was useless. Took about a week to fill the basket.

Custom Temp drawer would alternate between freezing and too cold even at its lowest temperature setting.

Water filter would pop out on it own.

Food stains behind one of the shelves. Filthy (dirt/dust) seals around the doors.

We're European and not used to the super cold temperatures Americans use. The lowest this frig will go is 42. Perhaps ok for many but not at all what we are used to. Trying to store cheeses or good cold cuts means they come out hard as a rock, impossible to separate slices of meats without a lengthy warm-up period and damaged cheeses when the Custom Temp drawer decides to freeze.

Described by Electrolux as normal: The doors do not close flush with each other. One sticks out more than the other. No way to adjust. Flimsy. The box flexes with simply opening a door. Then close the door and hope its aligned reasonably close to the other door.

We've had the repairman over twice so far. My guess is we will be seeing him again.

Pros:

Lots of bling and attractive.

Cons:

Flimsy construction, poor quality, somewhat difficult company to deal with, though the repair people are excellent, noisy.

Compared to the Amana, which cost a good bit less than half what the Electrolux cost, this frig is a major step in the wrong direction.

Whirlpool Refrigerator Door Closer Kit 4318165

Whirlpool Refrigerator Door Closer Kit 4318165After 6 months of service the new parts completely wore out. The original parts lasted for several years. I can only assume that an inferior material was used.

I got this fridge door cam kit to repair a nasty click that had developed on my fridge door upon opening and closing it.

I simply replaced all the original plastic parts with these ones, tightened all the bolts well, and greased all the plastic parts that make contact with each other.

The fridge door is as good as new!

Our Refrigerator Door keep popping open after closing it. We also noticed the door had dropped about 1/4 of a inch. We looked at answers online and this is what they suggested. Our old Door Closers were totally wearn out they didn't have any bumps on them. We thought we were going to need a new fridge but this saved us a lot of money. It is working like new now.

Water Sentinel WSS-1 Replacement Fridge Filter, 12 Pack, Fits Samsung DA29-00003B

Water Sentinel WSS-1 Replacement Fridge Filter, 12 Pack, Fits Samsung DA29-00003BI bought a dozen of these to save the most money possible. REading the previous reviews, I was a bit worried about a percieved plastic taste to the water, but was pleasantly surprised that after running them for 5 minutes like instructed, they provided very good tasting water. Maybe because I was expecting it, I tasted a lil bit of an aftertaste the first week, but anyone I polled about it (wife, friends) said the water was great. Also, plenty of comments on how fast the water was coming out...maybe I let that old filter overstay it's welcome.

Did not have any problem fitting them in my Samsung fridge (29cu ft model). No leaking or other issues. Great solution and hopefully these are still available 5 years from know when i run out of filters again;)

In local big box stores, the price for a single filter ranged from $42 to $49. Instead, I bought 12 filters on line which reduced the price drastically to less than $10 each. I could do this confidently, because I have purchased this filter on line before and my regrigerator is fairly new, so I expect it to last for the six years these filters should cover. It's a better return on my money than the money market these days, and the product is really top notch.
