I like the look overall, even though the handles seem a little cheap! I kept the fridge for about 48 hours and overall it was just too loud when it cycled on. I called the store where I purchased it and they said they would send out a repair person. I told them, no thank you since I purchased a NEW fridge, not a repaired, refurbished fridge. I must admit, I am sensitive to noises, but when my sister said it was too loud (and nothing bothers her for the most part), I knew something was not right about this fridge. So back to the store it went and I am still looking for the perfect, bottom-freezer fridge.

I have owned this model for 2 years now, and it is a great fridge and there has not been a single problem with it. I am old enough to have had the opportunity to have owned a number of refrigerators in my life. This one is a good solid unit. The handles are metal and rigidly mounted. The seal on my example is more secure than any other I have encountered and it took me by surprise. It takes a good effort to release when opening the door. It is not loud at all, and in fact is as quiet as any I have owned. Perhaps the previous reviewer could have taken his vendor up on their offer of a repair. I recommend it.

My Kargo Kooler arrived damaged in a dented box without any interior packing materials. The lid doors were warped and a little loose, a screw was missing from a hinge, the cheap plastic lid latch did not work properly, and I could not use this cooler vertically as a "refrigerator" because the heavy bottom door sagged badly. Perhaps attaching the heavy cooling unit to a lid door is a design flaw of this model.

The Kargo Kooler arrived a day before a 1600-mile road trip: I tested it en route to the Deep South in April as a chest cooler for exotic cheeses and a frozen pork roast, plugged into a socket in the cargo area of my Subaru Forester. I also splurged for the the optional AC adapter so I could plug it in at hotels. It cooled things superbly, despite lid problems. Yes, it may be a bit noisy in quiet office/home environments, but I did not notice its hum above road noise or the loud blasts of heating/cooling in highway hotel rooms.

My unit was obviously damaged from shipping, so I'm returning it to Amazon for a refund. Just check the lid covers and hinges very closely for damage and/or defects if you order this item.

I liked this enough to give Koolatron a second chance: I just ordered Koolatron's slightly smaller rolling mini-fridge model which may better suit my needs, has an adjustable thermostat, and should tuck away nicely and discreetly under the cargo area blind of my Subaru.

I got this as a sort of "extra" frig for drinks in the summer. However, it freezes up easily and can't be adjusted for temperature. It is lightweight and portable, working well for a drink chest for parties.

Also, the plug in that comes with it was missing. It only plugs into a car outlet--I had to buy the adapter to use it in the house.

Given the choice, I'd probably go with a small refrig that adjusts temperature. However, again, I like the portability of this product.

Used this on my road trip, it did great keeping all my food and drinks cold. Even when driving through the hot desert of 90 degree weather, it did cool down below 40 degrees from outside temperature, so it was 50 degrees inside cooler for our food. Warmer does great, can use up to 4 hrs maximum. Either cooler or warmer, plug into 12v lighter when car is running or will drain your car battery. It stays cool when at picnic and cannot plug cooler in.

Only concern is when fans running, its loud inside the car. When driving the road noise blends it out. After awhile you don't even think about it. Not too bulky in the backseat. Easily used seat belts to help hold it down when driving, such as around corners. Greatly recommend this cooler/warmer. My friend had a different brand and didn't work well. This one is a great portable fridge. Plus bought adapter from Amazon.com to use at hotel rooms, plug right in to wall outlet.

The hinge on the door was broken on arrival even though the packaging was not damaged. It seems like the double door concept with the heavy cooler mechanism on the door put a lot of stress on the plastic hinge. Good concept, but poor execution. I had to return it before we could even turn it on....

This gasket fit well. The magnet is a little on the weak side, as when my employees close the bottom door too hard the top door will pop open, but not the other way around. Otherwise nothing to complain about.

I bought this LG refrigerator as part of kitchen package.I originally was looking at a Frigdaire package and the salesman steered me toward LG, "too many issues with Frigidaire" he said. I was on a tight budget when I bought this, but think it's a good value.

After I purchased it I read some negative reviews regarding LG refrigerators. I have only had this appliance for one month, but so far no problems.

The refrigerator side does what a fridge is suppose to do, keep cold food cold. The LED lighting is a great feature, you can see whats in the back without digging around. The ice maker does a great job of making ice and keeping the bin full. We live in Arizona and go through alot of ice.

My only issue is the icemaker labels and buttons are hard to read and not back lite unless you actually push the button to see what you are getting.

The EdgeStar has much to boast of: it is lightweight, easy to carry and move, roomy, attractive, and versatile as both a refrigerator and (marginally) as a freezer. Setup is simple, and the price is excellent. Strongly tainting this appliance however, is a thermostat dial which is either incompetently designed, incompetently calibrated, or both

Before continuing, let's not fail to note the advertised description for this product: "Just turn the thermostat to select the appropriate temperature for your application!"

Falling with equal snugness on the Things That Make You Go Duh list is the instruction manual telling us that "The knob has markings to indicate the relative temperature settings, but in general, turning the knob counter-clockwise corresponds to colder temperatures."

So if we turn the dial one way, it gets colder. Turn it the other way it gets warmer. We can handle that. The markings on the dial bear witness to and confirm this elegant conception of appliance design:

regrigeration------> MIN......OFF.....MAX

freezing-----------> MIN......||......MAX

Interesting then, that in practice there is *no* temperature change in the freezer when dialed to "MIN", or dialed to "MAX". I measure both at a steady 20 degrees.

With some playing, one discovers that colder temperatures are achieved, erratically, within the petite 1.5 millimeter space between the two vertical lines separating "Min" and "Max".

Moving counter clockwise per instructions along the dial after the arrow marked "Freezer", the temperatures I normally get are, in order:

20 (when dialed to "Min")

15 (when dialed to the left vertical line)

4 or 12 degrees (when between the two vertical lines)

10 (when dialed to the right vertical line)

20 (when dialed to "Max).

Perhaps the advertised 0 degree capability is buried someplace within the 1.5 mm space between the two vertical lines, but after several days of moving the dial minutely to the left or right, I'm unable to find it.

Additionally, after reaching the coldest discernable temperature of 4 degrees once, it took me 2 days to find it again while continuing my hunt for the elusive advertised 0 degrees.

This is especially frustrating since it takes about half a day or more for a temperature change to be reached within the freezer after moving the thermostat dial -and when you move it, you don't know for certain if you're making it colder or warmer.

Which is to say, this isn't a particular fast appliance: The manual recommends not introducing frozen food to the freezer until it's been turned to the coldest setting (wherever that is) for at least 2 hours after turning it on. That seems wildly optimistic to me. In practice, it takes roughly 5 hours to freeze undersized 1" ice cubes from power-up using the tray bundled with this freezer.

To its credit, the EchoStar is fine as a refrigerator, and fine as a freezer as long as you aren't picky about hitting the the normally recommended 0 degrees for frozen foods.

But sorry, it should not require several days to find the coldest temperature on a device by nudging a dial back and forth within a space of a milimeter. And oddly enough, even without the instruction booklet telling me to do so, I fully expect "Max" to be colder than "Min", and not be actually located at some microscopicly ambiguous point between the two.

"Just turn the thermostat to select the appropriate temperature for your application!"

Yeah. Duh.

I was concerned when I ordered this product based on other feedback. I let the freezer sit for a couple hours after unpacking. I turned it on and set to max freeze and placed an icecube tray inside. It took 75 minutes for the water to freeze. We took it camping with us and after unplugging camper it took six hours for the ice cubes to melt.

Just got this little beauty around 5:00pm today and plugged it in shortly after with freezer temp set to max and putting in a new Freezer thermometer. I read the post about defective temp control, but saw that others had 'no problem' so I played dumb and just cranked it up. Just as well, as it is now 7:30pm and I heard the freezer pump go off. I looked in the door and the thermometer was at rock bottom minus 20 degrees. Wow am I happy. My main refrigerator freezer is set well enough to keep frozen foods at 0 degrees and that's what I want this little model to do also. I turned the thermostatic control back a quarter turn to rest it between max and min on the freezer side. I'm thinking that it will now level out at zero.

How it works was my first concern, so now that that is settled I can only also add what others have said: It looks great!

It looks beautifully made and I won't be surprised to have this unit for many years to come. I got it to hold frozen foods I take out of my main refrigerator while I am thawing out my main refrigerator. I'll bet I start cheating now and start using this little gem to horde my favorite Ice Creams or stock up on meats or who knows what. A very good purchase at a very good price. I would highly recommend to a friend.

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out which one of the compact Freezers to buy..... none of the review sections were convincing. I went with the Edgestar because of the option of being a freezer OR a refrigerator.

It does come double boxed, mine had no marks on it. Cut the straps, take out the foam corners remove the first box. Then LIFT the second box right off the unit (it has not fixed bottom) it couldn't easier. I then put the thermostat on max and 45 minutes later my new analog Taylor refrigerator/freezer non-calibrated thermometer said -15 degrees. It never got colder on THAT thermometer (rightly or wrongly). For the reviews where some of these units never worked....... it crossed my mind, before I noted the bottom of the box design, to tip the box over and get the unit out that way until I remember being told years and years ago(rightly or wrongly) that if the compressor/gas goes "upside down" it is then ruined....... So maybe that is why some of these units aren't working out of the box?

So far so very good.

Item arrived with surface damage on the compressor corner. The outer grilled cage was slightly dented in but has no effect on the refrigerator/freezer's operation. I shipped this to Maui and was not about to send it back just for that reason. The unit needs a few minutes to chill down but works beautifully while in operation. I use this exclusively in my vehicle and my only complaint is that I wish they would have supplied a longer power extension cord. While adjusting for ventilation, it will take up lots of room in your trunk.

I'm on my second one ordered direct from Amazon.com. The first one would not cool below 50 degrees no matter what I did and usually kept the temp somewhere between 50-60 degrees. On the plus side, returning it was no problem, they even arranged for UPS to pick it up, just keep your box so you can repack it. The second one does a little better. It will keep the temp at 35 degrees if I turn it to run continuously. On 7 (the highest) it will run from 45-50 degrees. It's fairly noisy running all the time, but not as bad as my room a/c. I would return it if I could find a box.

My unit works great and keeps beverages ice cold. I know other reviewers have complained that the unit doesn't get cold enough. On the highest setting, this unit freezes my diet sodas causing them to burst, which is obviously a bit too cold. One less than the highest setting is perfect. The unit holds a couple of cases of cans, more than ample for my needs. The glass door is nice and the unit has an elegant presence in my office. The door is supposed to be reversible, but the bolts were resistant to my attempts to remove them, so the door doesn't open in the direction I'd prefer. At three months, its working great and I'm happy with this purchase.

well , did receive item on time but once i made the installation the filter stays loose . I drained water as per instructions but water stil smells funny and we can taste the water not being properly filtered . So exciting to be able to drink clean clear water that has NO smell! (I have a serious sensitivity to many odors.) I hated how Everpure filters cost an arm and a leg ($83.49 right now, but with free shipping) and how their flow drops down to a trickle in about six months. With three of these in our house, that's expensive. Even so, I was hesitant to try this replacement. Would it fit? How would the water taste? Great news! It fit perfectly and a blind taste test showed no difference with the Everpure filter.

I ordered just one of these as a test, but just placed an order for another -our third filter is not yet run out.

Also, if Pavel's data is right, this should be good for 10,000 gallons versus Everpure's 300 gallon rating. I doubt I'd leave it in that long, but it would be nice if the flow stayed reasonable until I was ready to replace it, instead of becoming agonizingly slow.

I will note that the form factor is slightly different from the H300. It's shorter and the top is a tiny bit larger diameter. That worked even better in my location, but check to make sure you have a little clearance at the top. Even if you ran into problems, another review here indicated that the vendor was very accommodating.

Installed easily, seems to work well (how can the homeowner know), and is a 1/4 of the price of the Body Glove unit it replaced.
