My ice maker had filled the inside of the freezer with water and frozen up. After defrosting all the ice and placing everything back in, the ice maker would not work. I replaced the filter and ice maker which seemed mechanically sound, I figured it was the water valve in the back even though I was still getting water through the door. I got the new valve very fast through Amazon. The new valve has push on connections. Just cut off the old threaded fittings and push the water line into the connection until it stops. I turned the water back on and checked for leaks. It was making ice within 15 minutes.
Great price for the replacement substitute for Frigidaire side-by-side. Read other reviews prior to purchasing so I was prepared to cut off old fittings and it was successfully replaced in seconds w/no problems. Great value. Arrived very quickly (ordered on a Thursday, arrived Monday)...18 days prior to est delivery date which was great seeing as I didn't want to have a non-functioning water/ice dispenser for any length of time. Appreciate previous reviews to make installation very simple!
For the last year my Frigidaire side-by-side fridge has been leaking from the water dispenser anytime I got a glass of water. It would drip for 20-30 seconds, filling up the drip tray, and then ultimately would spill over onto the floor. Additionally, when the ice maker was in ON mode, the water dispenser would drip the same way after the ice tray was filled. After some quick research I found out that the inlet valve needed to be replaced. This product is exactly what I needed, and the price was half of what I found elsewhere on the web. Installation was a breeze, even though it doesn't come with instructions. It's quite self-explanatory, and there's several YouTube videos in case you need help. Very satisfied with this purchase.
Valve on 5 year old Frigidaire started leaking, so I googled the part number, and this was the replacement (different part no.). For $35 it was worth trying the replacement before calling an engineer.
Simple to replace, as mentioned, the connectors are push-in, so I had to cut the old ends off and they just popped in.
Most difficult was connecting the water inlet pipe, as the compression connector didn't quite fit, so replaced it with flexible hose from HD, and all is now fine.
I have crushed ice every morning with my coffee, down for a week and back in business. Thanks again Amazon, simple repairs made simpler when the part is so easy to locate.
I love crushed Ice. After about 10 years this fitting exploded on my Kitchenaid Refrigerator/Freezers Ice Maker. I got this replacement cheap and fast and I'm back in business. It's been in about a month now and seems to be working fine.
Not much to say -it's the correct replacement part for certain Whirlpool and Kenmore brand refrigerators made by Whirlpool. The original part broke on my Kenmore, I got this one to replace it, and now my ice dispenser works again.
When the ice maker on our refrigerator died, it happpened suddenly without warning, one day ice and the next none. I researched the replacement icemaker as recommended by the GE (manufacturer of the frig), the unit indicated less cubes (7 instead of 8), possible mounting modifications and a jumper harness required (and supplied) to install. After finding the SUPCO RIM300, I found it to be virtually an exact replacement, no modifications required, installed in less than 15 minutes, no harness to try to hide and we had a tub full of ice in 48 hours. It looks original and I think it makes ice faster.
The installation is very easy. If you are replacing an existing unit, just two screws to remove the old unit out and install the new one in. Watch the connector, it plugs just one way in, there is some kind of notch or guide.
But instructions with the unit are very poor. It doesn't mention that one of the cables to plug have some kind of temperature sensor that needs to fit into a clip on the underside of the unit.
Without that part fitted there, the unit may not work. !!!!!!!!!!
And again the instructions didn't cover that.
On the other hand, one good thing, you can adjust the amount of water that goes in to make the ice cubes.
It came with all the parts needed, including a mounting plate that helps fit the unit to older refrigerators where the mounting screws maybe at a different location.
I paid a little more for this than other after market icemakers I looked at, due to me seeing the connections were the exact same as the one I had. Glad I did. Installed in 7 min. Took several cycles of ice to fine tune how much water the unit uses. Started out only making 5 cubes per cycle, now makes 7. Can make 8 but not for me???? Turned the fill adjustment screw as high as it goes. Still, 7 more cubes than my old one made....
This is more about the supplier than the Ice Maker. After about 6 months, I began to have some unusual problems with the ice maker. I contacted this supplier to inquire about what I might do to remedy the problems. Without asking, they offered to replace the unit and shipped a new ice maker to me without charge. The replacement is now installed and running without problems.
I would do 6 stars for the vendor if I could!!!

First, I'd like to address the comment "hope you like warm beer". Not sure what they're talking about. I have my thermostat set about 1 inch colder than "normal" on the dial. The fridge has two 1/6 kegs of Victory beer, both are ice cold. Initially I had it set much colder but the temperature readings were showing I was close to freezing. Ideally beer should be between 33F 38F.
Foaming
I initially had foaming issues. There are two ways I know how to fix this:
1) Get longer lines $10
2) Get a flow control tap $50
Personally, I opted for the lines. Buy something high quality. I went with 10' of BevLex 200 3/16 for each line from a local homebrew store. You can also purchase it online. Start with 10' and trim until it pours the way you want it to. You want the beer to "fall" out of the tap. The top of the tower pulls off. Under that there is a piece of Styrofoam. From there you can remove the taps/line. Call the Beverage Factory if you need any help, they're happy to do so.
If you're worried about the beer sitting in the line, don't. 10' of 3/16 line holds about 1.5 ounces of beer, which is basically nothing -I measured it. The beer is well carbonated and tastes amazing.
PSI/Regulator Carbonation levels
Your best bet on PSI/Regulator settings is to contact the brewery that makes the beer. They can give you the target PSI they serve there's at. Then, you can use this chart [google for Solubility-of-carbon-dioxide-in-beer] to find out what you should be setting your regulator to. Most beers will fall between 2.40 2.57. It's important to know what the temperature of your beer. co2 has different pressures at different temperatures. **TIP** place a glass of water in the fridge over night and temp that. It will give you a more accurate temperature than a free standing thermometer. Example: your beer is 36F, you want a target PSI of 2.40. Your regulator would need to be set somewhere between 9 10.

It's a good first kegerator for the money. I homebrew and I've used this kegerator for ales, IPAs, stouts, belgian dubbles, and lagers. I use the 5 gallon homebrew kegs, so I can't comment on the commercial couplers. If you like higher carbonated beer, you may want to get a flow control tap since this kegerator comes with standard taps. (I've had foaming issues with anything over 8psi. Then again, if you're having foaming issue, you can use longer line from what I hear) I did run into an issue with one of the taps sticking, but that's semi-normal for these cheaper taps. As far as temps go, it keeps the beer cold enough for me. I've even had a beer line freeze at one point.
Honestly, looking back, I wish I would have just bought a mini fridge. That's all this thing is in the end... a mini fridge with a two inch how drilled in the top so you can screw on the draft tower.
If I were going to do this again I'd say just buy a good mini fridge and drill, baby, drill.
I bought this kegerator for my boyfriend for Christmas and it's exceeded both our expectations. The kegerator is sleek and stylish and fits in great in our living room. We're now the place where all of our friends want to gono more hanging out at local bars paying for overpriced beer when we can experience this at home! We got the D system coupler for Fat Tire and an S coupler for New Castle and Stella. The only bummer is we can't have two import kegs in there at the same time but that's not a big deal. Overall, we're really happy with our new "toy" and I'm really happy with the service provided thus far with Beverage Factory! A+++!!!
I would not recommend Haier kegerator, unless you like warm beer. I set it to it's coldest setting let it run for a day and the coldest it got was to 46 degrees Fahrenheit. As you know there's nothing better than warm beer. The really bad part of this is my wife ask me what I wanted for xmas, and I said I wanted a Danby kegerator it came highly recommended by a good friend. When she called "Beverage Factory" they said that Danby has a problem getting cold enough to get the beer to it's coldest optimal temperature. That they highly recommended Haier, but if you read between the lines what there really saying is that they get there most optimal profits selling haier. I also don't recommend the beverage factory. They never ask what kind of beer that you like to drink and that different beers have different types of couplers. So they just send off the standard American coupler. This doesn't work for Imported beers. Just bad all the way around, not to mention I probably lost a keg of Bass. The beer Gods are going to be very, very upset. "Don't buy from Beverage Factory" Try not to buy China Cr@p buy something thats made in the U.S. you can't go wrong. Good luck everybody and the next rounds on me!
I bought this LG french door refrigerator (with ice & water in the door) in July of 2008. It's design (especially coveted the ice/water shelf for pichers) and energy star standing coupled with price (not bought at Amazon) led to choosing LG. Immediately the ice dispenser began jamming, a regular occurrence onward. I experimented with different size cubes but that had no impact on the jamming. We use the ice dispenser multiple times daily. It soon was clear to me the failing was a design fault not a mechanical failure. We previouly had for 19 years an in the door dispenser that had never once failed-it was an auger type that occupied the top left shelf in the refrigerator. The LG is totally in the door and basically relies on gravity to feed the ice. A few months later we got notice that the Energy Star rating did not apply to this refrigerator after all. LG offered a repair or monthly check up to a total of $170. I wrote back that since they had miss represented the refrigerator and the Energy Star rating was a major factor in my purchase choice I wanted the refrigerator replaced. I never heard back from them. After about 2 years of use the temperature control became erratic. Faced with a joice of repair or replace (and really frustrated with the ice dispenser and their refusal to respond to my request for a replacement refrigerator) I choose to replace the LG. As of last Friday, I own a similar Samsung refrigerator (although is is 4 cubic feet larger inside thru design efficiencies). After realizing LG was not going to respond to my request, I began purging LG possesions. I first got rid of my LG cell phone, replacing it with a Motorola. Next will be my LG Blue Ray player.
Ice dispenser jammed most of the time , especially after we used the " crush " feature then switch to " cube" .
The icemaker isself is a bad design . The motor actually turn and twist the ice tray to release ice ( not like the other model which heat up the tray to release ice ). After so many twist and turn, the wire harness which connect to the temp sensor underneath the ice tray broke internally rending the icemaker inop .
If you live in the region with hard water ( Ft Myers, FL as an example ) then the calcification with stick to the ice tray which ,in turn, to cause at least half the amount of ice cubes stick to the tray ,only half of them drop down to the ice bin. This also cause the icemaker mechanism to go bad when its motor try too hard to twist the tray ... end up stripping the gear inside . Within 2 1/2 years ... I had to replace the icemaker twice
Ice bin too small, not enough ice for family of 4 in a hot summer days unless you empty the ice into a bucket which locate in freezer compartment. I'll never recommend this model to anyone
Bought this frig 1 1/2 years ago. It was during the time LG was selling them for around $1300.00 at Home Depot.Retail was $2400.00 We have only
used this frig for about 5 months because it is used in a cottage we shut down during the winter.The best thinf about the frig is it's looks.
The frig temperature runs about 5 degrees
warmer than the readout states. Chilled water isn't cold enough.When you try and get ice, the auger runs but it takes up to a minute to fill a glass with ice.And now the icemaker quit making ice altogether. Nothing. Not a single cube.We use this frig mostly on weekends.It gets very little use.We are very disappionted with this frig and LG won't be a choice when buying future products.
I like the spacious room that this refrigerator has which is why I gave it 3 stars. I read the previous review about the ice maker and couldn't agree more. The ice maker dispenser doesn't dispense properly. We are constantly unjamming the ice every time it's needed. The water dispenser doesn't dispense cold water, just cool, which is why we need to add ice. LG needs to completely re-design their ice dispenser unit. This one is terrible.
I bought this fridge the same time I purchased GE Profile dishwasher, gas range and microwave. LOVE my other appliances, but this fridge has an exterior surface that is impossible to clean and shine. No matter what I've tried (Stainless cleaners, all purpose cleaners, window cleaners, soapy water, etc), nothing removes the ugly streaks! It's only 1 year old and looks terrible, while my GE appliances look as beautiful as they did the day I bought them! By the way, no children in my house. This CAME with the streaks and Tthey are not removable!
Now that I have used this for a while I have some observations of this machine. One fatal design flaw on this machine, that both me and my friend are experiencing is the soap dispenser door sticks if you have your normal size dishes on that side of the rack. Dishes in this location need to be shorter to allow dispenser to flip up, which is not something that you should have to be mindful of when loading a dishwasher. Shame on the Frigidaire engineers here. Don't they use this stuff before they put it into production???? From what I can see, they made the bottom rack so large that it brings the dishes too close to the flip open door for the soap, causing it to either not open at all or only open partially. They should have relocated the soap dispenser door higher up.
This is something you need to consider and seems to show up in other reviews for this machine and other Frigidaire Dishwashers on the web. Also, it does not install flush with the face of the cabinets in a 24 inch cabinet application, protrudes about 2 inches. Raising feet up so the dishwasher is flush with the countertop (the way it supposed to be) also creates a gap at the bottom because the kick panel is too small and can't cover the increased area. Not major flaws like the aforementioned, but worth noting.
Otherwise, it's still a nice machine, performs very well, cleans dishes superbly, dries very well, easy to load, tons of room for silverware, and it is very quiet. For the money you get alot, I paid $550. I am hesitant to give it four stars though, if I could I would give it 3.5.
Fully satisfied with my FPHD2491KF after a month; time will tell more. Nice-looking, simple exterior. I paid $614 at a locally owned store. Best set of features I found at that price.
Installed it myself; straightforward j-box wiring and copper compression plumbing. Good instruction manuals (1 user, 1 technical) with installation tips. At first it didn't drain all the way, sometimes. After checking everything three times I called customer service. They were excellent, listened to what I said and then chose the correct diagnostic sequence for my problem. It stumped them, too, and they provided a list of approved services in my town. I picked one and he came over the next day. He made short work of it, immediately identifying that the air-gap anti-siphon fitting on my sink was partially plugged (stuff like fish bones that got past the old unit's filter) so it drained partly and we could see water coming out but it didn't all pump out during its time cycle. He cleaned it and was done in 10 minutes, and said Frigidaire would cover his visit.
Dishes come out spotless and squeaky clean, even large & dried-on loads. It is *very* quiet, doesn't interfere with a quiet conversation at all. Plenty of cycles from a 20-min rinse to 90-min china/crystal, 120-min sanitize, 150-min pot/pans, and choice of heat or air-dry. Racks and silverware tray work well. Easy-to-adjust top rack is handy for awkward and large things like cutting boards, food processor, mixing bowls. Dinner plates can block the soap door from opening completely, as mentioned in a previous review and also noted in the user manual; proper loading avoids that (I'd ding it a half star for that, if I could). Jet-Dry dispenser is turned down to its lowest setting and still no spots.
14 September 2011: Still very happy with this dishwasher. No problems to report. One review mentions that the bottom rack can come off its track and that's true, but it only happens if you pull it askew and it's completely easy to put back on its track.
May 2012: Silverware baskets have broken some of their bottom mesh, allowing utensils to poke through and stop the bottom sprayer from turning...not good. Easy fix was cutting 1/4" or 3/8" grid galvanized hardware cloth to fit each basket; cut slightly oversize and press into the bottom. It shouldn't break like that, though. Only other thing that's happened was the sink air-gap got some crud in it again and had to be cleaned out, but now that I know about it, that's easy to spot and fix. Still happy with it but dropped from 5 to 4 stars due to silverware basket and soap door. Oh, and the "Air Dry" LED is sort of dim...looks like it might not be seated up to its display panel quite right, but it works.
I almost did not buy this b/c of the bad reviews I read but I keep going back to it. I have had it 8 months and I love it. It is very quiet and has many featores: sanitize, "scrubbing" wash, rinse only, etc. It looks fabulous. What I especially love is the top rack. There is a feature where you can put small dishes (saucer size) on the top or open up the "prongs" and put glassware there instead. Flexible. I paid about $300-400 more than what it is selling for here on amazon. I am very happy with it. I just hope I don't have the problems other people have had.
This is probably the worst dishwasher I have bought. In a year and a half it has went through 2 motors, 1 drain pump, 1 control board, sand 1 display board. We bought a 5 year warranty with this dishwasher. So we expect a new motor every 8 months and new control boards every 1 and a half years. The service man said everything is undersized.so we will get to know him well.
I am quite baffled about all unsatisfactory reviews on this product! I decided to buy this dishwasher based on the appearence, price, Steele (Exterior/Interior) and options and I am very happy with my decision. I've been using it for over a month now and have zero complaint about it. The dishes come out sparkling clean and it's super quite. Yes, you may have to be very gentle with the bottom shelf as it may come off track easily but not a big deal. Yes, the detergent door may not open if you put big pots/dishes on bottom left hand corner but the dishwasher comes with a "caution" note and advises you not to do so. The only comment I can make is that the timer is hidden inside therefore it kind of defeats the purpose of having it since you have to open the door and intrupt the cycle in order to find out how much is left for the cycle to be completed. Other than that, I am quite happy speciallly that I bought at Low's for $550.00!
I feel safe in havging something incase the appliance fails, and I got it at a very "Great" price .. Will buy it for other purchases...
Of course their warranty covers new products, what do you think Amazon sells more of?
In any case, I have Squaretrade warranties for my tvs, my refrigerator and dishwasher, and my receiver the service has been wonderful when I had to use it on my Onkyo SR707 receiver. I'd actually been looking on Squaretrade's website for something that covers kitchen appliances like my new Kitchenaid Artisan mixer. Kitchenaid's Artisan mixers don't have the best reputation for quality past a year's worth of use, and repairs would cost me about what I originally paid for the mixer after MIR, so a little extra peace of mind with a Squaretrade warranty doesn't hurt. (When considering that I will likely have to make use of it at some point.)
So spew oil Kitchenaid Artisan, grind your gears to dust Squaretrade has got my back.

I have a Kenmore refrigerator that came with the house when we bought it back in 2006. It was brand new so I never bothered checking anything until last year when my drip pan kept overflowing. Turns out my refrigerator had a water filter and it needed to be replaced. Who knew? I never used the water dispenser but I did occasionally use the ice maker. Moral of the story is to change your water filter every six months to one year. I got almost 6 years out of my original filter before it started dumping water into my drip pan. I bought a similar filter last year and was still going strong a few weeks ago but I changed it anyway. The only thing I don't much care for about this filter is the "Made in China" label. When it's time to change again I will attempt to find a "Made in USA" filter.
It works very well. I'm using the Rusco FS1-1/2-250 for heavy sand filtration. I probably need/should clean it every month, but usually clean it every 2 months. It's a good idea to replace with a new filter every year, depending on use (ours is a family of 4).
Works great as it is, but these filters are available in different meshes from coarse (60) to very fine (250) on the open market. It would be helpful if the vendors specified what they are shipping or better yet, had a drop-down tab to choose which mesh you prefer.

The LT600P (LG part number) is supposed to be the 5231JA2006B model number, which is the newer/more expensive filter compared to 5231JA2006A. Thus keep an eye out for that if you receive the A model as you can find it for less than $40 from many sellers. I incorrectly received the A model but was reimbursed by the seller.
As for the filter itself:
I just moved into this house and the fridge had a 5231JA2006B filter of unknown age filter light wasn't on but water flow was slow much, much slower than the water dispenser on my dad's maytag. Thus I thought I'd venture out and buy a new filter.
Well, I'm thinking (hoping) the old filter was actually fine since the water flow with this new filter is exactly the same slow. Water doesn't taste any different and tasted fine before I changed it. I do find it kind of interesting that the instructions say to run the water dispenser for 5 minutes to flush out the old water seems like a very long time to stand there cycling the smallish containers I can fit in the door well. I also held my filter button in for 3 seconds like instructed to reset it and nothing happened, except the light turned on (combo filter/light button). I was expecting a sound or led to light up or something. Hopefully this is normal as I believe the fridge was purchased recently.
So just be aware that the A filter is the older, discontinued filter and the B filter is more expensive and filters more contaminants.
Bad News: See other reviews about Amazon and this vendor shipping an inferior product. This is true. I ordered knowing this was possible, but since the Product Details specifically mentioned that this is LG part number LT600P *and* the Product Description mentions all the impurities removed by the LT600P (which are NOT removed by the 5231JA2006A), I figured I'd take a chance.
Nope, my invoice shows that I ordered a LT600P (or "B" filter) but I was sent an LG 5231JA2006A, which as other reviewers pointed out is a substantially inferior product. I'm sure that this vendor and Amazon are covering their bases by saying on the product page: "Also known as the 5231JA2006A" but this is NOT A TRUE STATEMENT. The reviewer that stated that he called LG and LG says that it is the same is simply wrong. I verified this by: 1) going to another online retailer that offers both "A" and "B" filters for sale. The specs and price are most assuredly different on those two filters 2) The spec sheet that came in my "A" filter are substantially inferior to those listed on the product details page for the LT600P.
Now the Good News: I only paid approx $36 shipped, which is about what the inferior 5231JA2006A should cost online. The LT600P (also known as 5231JA2006B) costs around $45+ shipped. So, I paid the appropriate amount for the inferior product, and got same. They are still ripping people off by promising the better filter for the inferior product's price. Buyer Beware!
The filter described by the seller is the 5231JA2006B however the filter that they send out is the older model 5231JA2006A. I would recommend avoiding this seller and purchase a filter from someone that will deliver the actual filter you order.
This icemaker is very good except for the automatic flap shut off valve gets pinned in the down position so ice continues to overflow. All that we do is shut off the ice maker until we need more ice. Also the switch is horizontal and our ice maker cover the switch is vertical.
Great replacement for the original ice maker that never worked correctly. The only down side to this one is that the arm comes out a little further than the unit that came in the fridge. I can't use the shelf that fits over the ice bucket because of this but I'm happy I now have ice.
I have all thumbs with repairs but this one is so simple to do. No kidding ... loosen 2 screws unplug and put new one in the same way. and then it worked!! no hoses no taking other stuff off it is simple and works great and i would have paid 2x that for a plumber i bet
Works great.It is not a perfect fit as the switch on my old one was vertical and this one is horizontal making shutting it on and off a little more difficult. But a minor inconvenience for the value!

So far, ive given this product 5 stars because I installed it in less than 5 minutes. I live in an apartment with an old fridge that has an ice maker in it, BUT NO FILTER. I started noticing my ice was looking a little yellow, so I just knew there had to be some type of universal filter i could install on it, and I found this one.
First I ran some water through it to get the excess carbon out. I then pulled my fridge away from the wall and unplugged it. Then I removed the plastic 1/4" water line from the fridge and cut it about 6 inches from the end. I then pressed in the piece i cut on one side of the filter and pressed in the line from the wall into the other side of the filter. (Make sure you get the flow of water through the filter correct) Then i just plugged the short line into the fridge again and plugged the fridge back in. So far the ice looks significantly cleaner and its tastier.
I will update if anything goes bad.
