This is our second LG fridge. The first was purchased in 2007. We started having problems right away...seemed like the repair person was here every 6 months. Finally,the last problem was insurmountable and after 2 weeks of "camping" with ice chests, LG at long last replaced the fridge with this model. We were thrilled and the fridge arrived 4-18-2011. On June 1st, it just died. Turned out to be a defective main circuit board. Part ordered. Next day, we were informed that the part was out of stock, not in for 4 weeks. Hmmm, part out of stock....what does that tell you? An all too common problem? It has now been 7 days and we are waiting to see what LG will do for us. They do not plan to reimburse us for all the ice we've purchased or for some of the food that has gone bad. Totally unacceptable time to keep a customer in limbo. Buyer beware!

We physically checked out several fridges in local stores and looked on-line including consumer reports. This was significantly larger than the fridge it replaced. We really like the freezer at the bottom w/ the divider (meats on one side, ice cream/dessert type stuff on the other). The slide out shelves are very cool; it's nice when you have a big jug of milk to pull out. There is also an abundance of drawer space.

I was concerned purchasing a large appliance on-line but it went great. It took a little more than a week to arrive. Two guys came in a truck in the 4 hour timeframe given. They were in and out w/in 30 minutes. The fridge was in perfect condition everything was taped into position. We saved $200-$300 by purchasing off Amazon as opposed to the local box store.

We are very happy w/ the purchase.

Purchased in January 2011. We like the style and layout of this refrigerator. Unfortunately, the ice maker went out after one month. LG is the only manufacturer that requires you to submit a a form to request in-home warranty service. You can't just call a local authorized service company yourself. Then, when they get around to it, LG contacts a service rep to come fix the problem. It's been five days and haven't heard from LG. I won't be purchasing any additional LG appliances.

I have this refrigerator for less than 1 yr. After several months i noticed brown spots on the front door panels. The spots turn out to be rust. The repair tech that came out to inspect the complaint told me that cosmetic complaints are not covered by warranty. Excuse me? This is a stainless steel product, it's not even supposed to rust! It's a defect and not a matter of aesthetic. I think the problem may be that companies cut corners and outsource their manufacturing tasks to countries that do not require stringent quality controls. Buyers just be aware get some sort of protection at the time of purchase.

I'm not sure the other reviewers are talking about this particular LG. Consumer Reports has this specific model as #2 over dozens of other models. We love ours. The LED light is wonderful. Easy access. Extremely quiet. I don't know about LG's customer service that other reviewers are concerned with as we haven't had to deal with them. But the refrigerator itself is fantastic. And you can get deals less than Amazon's price.

i do not like this product because my water from the fridgerator has like a chlorine or floride taste to it...its not to bad if the water is cold but if the water sits and gets warm it is awful....i would recommend buying the original one that the fridge comes with....

Purchased this as an alternative to normal charcoal filters trying to do my "green thing" for the environment.

I have switched back to normal filters. These do an ok job but they don't remove the taste that Dallas water has. Not much natural spring water here in the Dallas area and therefore water is pulled from reservoirs and ponds which has a high algae / green content. Normal filters filter out the taste, these don't.

Item arrive loosely and poorly packed in a modified lightweight cardboard box. While item did have original foam packing, it was badly broken and only secured by additionally added bubble-wrap and I was surprised that it was not secured within a manufactures box and/or packaging. Item did NOT appear to have been damaged in shipment. I was even more disappointed upon closer examination of the item. THIS IS NOT a replacement motor for Whirlpool/Kenmore products!!! Replacements are made in USA exclusively by Whirlpool, pass UL and CSA testing and are warrantied by the manufacture. The item received is an UNAUTHORIZED and ILLEGAL substitution poorly and cheaply made in China!!! IT IS NOT UL NOR CSA APPROVED or TESTED, and obviously has no warranty or manufactures identification!!! Even though this is for personal use and repair, I was VERY reluctant to accept such an item. This CAN NOT and should not be used by repair businesses, authorized or not, due to unknown liability issues. The description DID NOT reflect these important matters and are certainly not worthy of the savings or low cost!!!! Further more, upon installation, it was discovered that motor WAS defective and NOT tested and inspected as noted on sticker. After removal and more though inspection, it was found that motor controller switch WAS NOT to original specifications and resulted in a clicking noise caused by inadequate clearance of controller and motor armature fins. Poor installation and alignment of controller actuating lever also caused premature wear and damage of lever end of controller ON A NEW MOTOR!!!! While armature fins were unevenly machined, it was determined that a small spacing washer under the controller would satisfy clearance AND alignment issues while extending life of controller lever end. After my modifications,testing and acceptance, motor was AGAIN installed and functions acceptably with concerns of quality and lifetime.

The motor came with a sticker that said it had been quality controlled. It runs just fine under "no load" condition.

However, under any load (even an empty tub), the rotor hits the side, and then it overheats and shuts down, in less than 30 seconds. The load is not excessive -the previous motor still runs the same machine just fine. (The previous motor has a worn shaft, and is making noise and getting ready to fail. So I decided to replace it before it actually failed.)

And, the seller does NOT offer refunds -exchange only. And, not after it has been installed and used. So this motor cannot be returned. My time to hassle with a vendor is worth more than the motor anyway.

The replacement motor worked and was much cheaper to buy here then in other websites. There was no problem in mounting or wiring the new motor.

The LT600P (LG part number) is supposed to be the 5231JA2006B model number, which is the newer/more expensive filter compared to 5231JA2006A. Thus keep an eye out for that if you receive the A model as you can find it for less than $40 from many sellers. I incorrectly received the A model but was reimbursed by the seller.

As for the filter itself:

I just moved into this house and the fridge had a 5231JA2006B filter of unknown age filter light wasn't on but water flow was slow much, much slower than the water dispenser on my dad's maytag. Thus I thought I'd venture out and buy a new filter.

Well, I'm thinking (hoping) the old filter was actually fine since the water flow with this new filter is exactly the same slow. Water doesn't taste any different and tasted fine before I changed it. I do find it kind of interesting that the instructions say to run the water dispenser for 5 minutes to flush out the old water seems like a very long time to stand there cycling the smallish containers I can fit in the door well. I also held my filter button in for 3 seconds like instructed to reset it and nothing happened, except the light turned on (combo filter/light button). I was expecting a sound or led to light up or something. Hopefully this is normal as I believe the fridge was purchased recently.

So just be aware that the A filter is the older, discontinued filter and the B filter is more expensive and filters more contaminants.

Bad News: See other reviews about Amazon and this vendor shipping an inferior product. This is true. I ordered knowing this was possible, but since the Product Details specifically mentioned that this is LG part number LT600P *and* the Product Description mentions all the impurities removed by the LT600P (which are NOT removed by the 5231JA2006A), I figured I'd take a chance.

Nope, my invoice shows that I ordered a LT600P (or "B" filter) but I was sent an LG 5231JA2006A, which as other reviewers pointed out is a substantially inferior product. I'm sure that this vendor and Amazon are covering their bases by saying on the product page: "Also known as the 5231JA2006A" but this is NOT A TRUE STATEMENT. The reviewer that stated that he called LG and LG says that it is the same is simply wrong. I verified this by: 1) going to another online retailer that offers both "A" and "B" filters for sale. The specs and price are most assuredly different on those two filters 2) The spec sheet that came in my "A" filter are substantially inferior to those listed on the product details page for the LT600P.

Now the Good News: I only paid approx $36 shipped, which is about what the inferior 5231JA2006A should cost online. The LT600P (also known as 5231JA2006B) costs around $45+ shipped. So, I paid the appropriate amount for the inferior product, and got same. They are still ripping people off by promising the better filter for the inferior product's price. Buyer Beware!

Dyson DC07 DC14 Low-reach Attachment Tool

After reading the reviews for this attachment for other Dyson models I felt I had to give it a try. I hated lugging the vacuum around in the kitchen because the footprint is just too big & clumsy to navigate around the kitchen furniture. This attachment does a superb job on vinyl & wood with the bristles extended. It reaches in between cabinet doors & the floor and under built-in appliances like the dishwasher. It also gets under the fridge where the main Dyson foot does not fit. It also does a great job on the stairs with the bristles retracted it really grabs the carpet with a tight seal!

My first complaint: Although the head swivels quite a bit to get into tight spots it doesn't swivel quite enough. I had a hard time getting between the side of my free-standing stove & the wall. I twisted every which way I could but could not maintain a seal at the very back corner.

My second complaint is that many of the attachments for the DC15 require the wand to be reversed leaving a very poorly designed "up-side-down" & uncomfortable handle to vacuum with (unless I'm doing somethig wrong? It comes with NO instructions so we made it fit the only way we could :). I have no idea why Dyson designed the vac this way it should have been obvious that this is an uncomfortable way of assembling the attachments.

We ordered this item direct from Dyson because we couldn't tell if the Amazon version would fit our vacuum. This attachment fits ONLY the DC15 don't order the wrong one!

Overall, since I love my Dyson, I have to give the attachment 4 stars. I'm glad I bought this item because now that I have it, I wouldn't want to be without it. Dyson should include this attachment with the vacuum -it's a pricey addition at $50 plus shipping!

I bought this to get under the bed and under other low objects. It took out tons of dust from under my bed. It works great. There is no "grooming" of the carpet, because there is not a rotating brush, but the suction is great and it will get all the junk under low things.

I recently purchased the Dyson Ball DC 25 Animal, after owning a Kenmore canister with power head for years. I knew I would need a tool to reach under my dressers and beds and this his does the trick! I guess I was lucky compared to others, I got 18 months out of it. The temp display went out and I had the ticking noise that other reviews mentioned. It could not handle a warmer room (couldn't keep the temp I had set it at) but simply moving elsewhere solved the problem. I'm glad I got it on clearance and only spent $50, but I don't recommend it at any other price. I wonder if ANY of the smaller free standing units last, at least one that is affordable. Seems like most reviews complain they only last 6-18 months.

My father, brother, and I all purchased this item at the same time and each and every one of ours broke down within a month of each other (around the 1 year mark). Each unit stopped cooling and/or the control board stopped and the digital temperature would not display. When it did work, the temperature fluctuated so much and was so inconsistent. I would not recommend purchasing this product unless you plan on putting it by the curbside about a year after wasting your money on it. It's quite evident that this is a poor manufacturer after seeing other reviews with the same issues.

I was given mine as a gift. The fan was a bit loud and ran constantly so I unplugged it until I would need the wine chilled. When I did finally plug it in, we later found the glass cracked leaving a mosiac pattern throughout the entire window. Within a few months, the unit stopped working altogether. For the high price being charged, it's just not worth it. I would say it's worth maybe $60 at most given the short life span.

Frigidaire 240324501 Door Bin for Refrigerator

Used this to replace the clear version of the same bin. Although it's the same design as the clear bins, the material is significantly stronger and does not suffer from the same design defects. I fully expect this bin to outlast the lifespan of the refrigerator. If you need more details on what you'd be purchasing, simply open your fridge and look at the white plastic bin on the door its the same exact model.
