I ordered a part for a replacement door rack. The part did not match the part number specified on the refrigerator manual which I don't fault the distributor for. However, after returning a $26 part in new condition with original packaging I received a ~ $10 credit. Excessive I would say.

The fridge is fine, but NO customer service. The first one leaked freon from the moment it was plugged in. They finally replaced it.... but what a nightmare! Their people are unhelpful, do not return messages, and give you zero support. When they finally shipped the replacement, I couldn't understand why it was WEEKS late. Finally I tracked it down -first, they'd shipped it late, second, they hadn't bothered to tell me when it was being shipped, and finally -I love this part, since it's a snapshot of the whole process --even when I got ahold of them, they never told me that it was a special delivery and UPS would hang onto it until I called them and arranged a special delivery. I tried to complain, the service dept wouldn't take my calls, even the President refused to take calls. If you have any choice, don't do business with Avanti -decent products, terrible service and treatment of customers.

ADDENDUM So, it's now 3 months since the replacement arrived and this one is going bad too. Apparently the fan is shot. Just not quality products. My advice is spend the extra and buy from one of the better manufacturers.

I have a 35-bottle Avanti cooler that is a few years old. The thermostat went out on it. I called Avanti.

Them: That unit has been discontinued.

Me: OK, how do I go about getting a replacement thermostat?

Them: That unit has been discontinued.

Me: Can you recommend an appliance parts store that may have a replacement thermostat?

Them: No.

Hoping that I had just had the bad luck to have drawn a service rep who was having a bad day, I called again later. Same story.

I spent hours searching the Internet for a replacement part. No luck there, either.

So, buy it, enjoy it, and pray you never need service.

We bought the wine cooler to replace a trash compactor that we never used. It's not quiet (quite noticable when it's running) but I can live with that. What annoys me is that when the power goes out (happens a lot in Houston) the cooler resets to factory defaults, ignoring any temperature you set and forgetting other settings like Celcius versus Fahrenhiet. Since I use it to store red wine this results in the wine being much colder than it should be. For this reason I cannot recommend this product to anyone serious about red wine.

I purchased this model to replace a trash compactor in my kitchen during a remodel 2 years ago. When the cooler was first installed, it was kind of loud, but not too bad. Over time the motor has gotten measurably louder. Now, when it kicks on, it sounds like a garbage disposal. I've turned it off and am looking to replace it as soon as possible. I cannot recommend this unit.

We ordered and installed this wine chiller six months ago and we are greatly enjoying it. My only wish is that there was a way to lock the controls. They are so sensitive, that any random touch can change the settings, and even turn the unit off. Other than that, it is a great little built in unit.

I want to hug this thing every morning! But I won'tthat way lies madness. Besides, I don't think DH would like it. Why am I so happy? Because..I had a 25 year old, noisy Sub Zero for which I could no longer find parts. It had to go. Unfortunately, we had remodeled the kitchen around it. So I thought I was stuck with another Sub Zero. Why do I say "stuck"? Aren't Sub Zeros the very best? Well, call me a rube , but to me it was essentially a shinier, shallower, taller, louder version of my cheap Sears fridge in the basement. Not to mention that a new Sub Zero costs over $8000, for Pete's sake!

What to do? Enter the KitchenAid counter depth French door fridge. Fantastic. For about $6000 less I have a fridge that takes up less space but has more room inside.(It's magic!) The counter depth fits perfectly in the space where the Sub Zero loomed. The KitchenAid is pretty and quiet and well organized on the inside. Now I have a new, quiet, (did I mention quiet?) fridge with more room inside. It has an interior filtered water dispenser, an excellent deli drawer,(wide and shallow so you can see everything) see -thru veggie bins, and even a neat little scoop in the ice bin. The doors open and close independently of one another. I also like having two smaller doors instead of one heavy door. The water filter is within easy reach in the top of the fridge.

The freezer is also well organized. The ice bin can be rolled out of the way to make use of the space beneath. The freezer also has bins which might , for example, keep melted Popsicle goo from leaking all over the freezer and the floor and the ceiling beneath. Just in case.

AND my cabinet maker is going to put a new shelf in the space that opened up over the KitchenAid. (The Sub Zero was 12" inches taller). I finally have a place to store those huge trays my mother gave me for Christmas. More fridge taking up less space for less moneywhat's not to like?

We purchased this fridge last summer after completing a kitchen remodel. We have the unit in white (which is magnetic) because we did our kitchen in B&W. We considered a black model but chickened out. I should say that one door bracket was bent when we received it (though it still opened and closed) but they sent us a new one ASAP which was easy to replace.

What do I like about the fridge: Large interior, holds 2 gallons of milk on the DOOR, easily holds a pizza box, even though counter depth. Controls are easy to read, and intuitive...set temp by actual temp. Counterdepth is great...nothing gets lost in the back of the fridge and it fits in the room great. Bottom freezer is much better than I expected, everything used to always fall out of my old top freezer. French doors open and close easily (maybe this is obvious, but I was uncertain how it would work). Water dispenser in fridge is fast and cold. Shelves come out very easily for cleaning. Ice cube maker is fast, quiet, and there no melting and refreezing of icecubes like in my older fridge.

What I like less: It is tall, which is good for me, but less so for the kids. Deli drawer is somewhat hard to get back in once you take it out. Somewhat hard to balance to get the doors even, but once you do this you are done forever. Water dispenser drips for a second after you stop.

Over all, this fridge was a great purchase. We'll see how it lasts.

This is a really nice looking refrigerator with great features. However, within two years of purchase, the compressor, the thermister and the control board have all had to be replaced. Kitchenaid warrantys this rather expensive product for one year only. When I contacted customer service for assistance with what is obviously a lemon, I was told "that's why we sell extended warrantys." The local appliance dealer has been great in trying to help, but even they can't get Kitchenaid to budge. Do yourself a favor do not buy Kitchenaid!

We previously had an LG stainless steel French Door refrigerator, and it was fine, but we had to leave it behind when we moved. When shopping for the right refrigerator for the new home, I did a ton of research and decided on this one for 2 reasons: 1) all of the built-in appliances in the new house are Kitchenaid, and 2) this model is not only counter-depth, but it's 72" tall. We were thrilled when it arrived as it fits beautifully into the space and it matches the rest of the kitchen.

But when we started actually using it, I realized how very glad I am that we left that LG model behind! The drawers, both in the refrigerator and freezer, glide smoothly, and I love that the door shelves are lined. The deli drawer is great, because we can lay everything out in a single layer and see everything easily. We also love the water dispenser inside (the exterior keeps a very clean and simple look, as a result) and that it can be used to fill pitchers. Clear-faced vegetable drawers: my sister and I were making dinner, and she saw me open the vegetable drawer to look inside. She asked, "why did you open the drawer to see what's in it?" I chuckled to myself. Old habits die hard! But yes, you can see what's in the drawers without having to open them I'll just have to get used to the awesomeness.

The interior is also much roomier than I expected! Granted, we do have a 2nd refrigerator in our utility room, but it is currently empty we'll probably use the 2nd one for overflow during the holidays. This one is sufficient in size for our every day needs.

As for keeping the stainless steel beautiful, based on other reviews, I purchased the Weiman wipes, and they definitely do the trick on ALL of our Kitchenaid stainless appliances (they are fantastic!)

We made several large appliance purchases for the new house, and, by far, this refrigerator has been my favorite.

The short answer is that I am very happy with this fridge. If you are shopping for a large, counter-depth, french door fridge without an external dispenser, then you have already narrowed your search to only a few choices. And as long as the extra height of this fridge is not a problem for you, this is the best choice. The standard height version of this is an older design and does not have many of these features, so if you need standard height I would recommend the Frigidaire.

The most obvious difference and greatest asset is its extra height, giving it about one extra cubic foot of space over most competitors. It is advertised as 72", although that is the height to the top of the hinges, the top of the fridge case is listed at 70.8" which should make it able to just barely squeak under standard cabinets. Mine showed up and it was 71.1" tall, requiring the installer to cut the bottom of my cabinet trim slightly. He did a good job and it looks great, but it cost me an extra $65. The other unique feature of this fridge is the cold water dispenser on the inside. I love this feature and it is nice to have the benefit of a dispenser while keeping the ice maker in the freezer where it belongs. That ice maker is the best design I have seen. It has a magnetic lever that allows the ice tray to attach to the freezer door, so it automatically opens when you open the freezer. Since it is a magnet you can then just close the ice tray by its self. Or, if you don't want it to open automatically, just flip the lever and it will stay closed. Every fridge should have this.

The inside controls are easy to use, and the fridge is organized well. The deli drawer automatically opens its lid when you pull on the drawer, and also works perfectly for beer storage. It can hold 50+ cans of beer. The bins at the bottom of the doors can hold two gallons of milk each, and that is important because the doors are really the only place to store tall items. A retractable shelf would have helped greatly. The freezer actually has three levels of shelving. The middle shelf is short and wide, perfect for pizza boxes that will not fit in many other bottom freezer designs. However the bottom bin is tall but relatively shallow. Fitting something large, like a turkey, will require removing the pizza shelf (it simply lifts out). The crispers, top freezer shelf, and all of the door bins, have dishwasher safe silicone liners that can be pulled out for cleaning. I wish the bottom freezer bin had one too. Others have complained about the right door popping open when the left door is closed. The floor model I looked at had this problem, but once mine was properly leveled and some weight was placed in the door it was no longer an issue. This fridge is quiet, although not the most quiet in its class.

I don't think the appearance of this fridge quite lives up to its price. The squared off doors give it a somewhat industrial look and although that isn't necessarily bad, the lower stamped metal hinges and brackets, complete with mounting screws, are fully visible. The upper ones are covered by a big piece of gray plastic. I hate the grey painted sides (unfortunately this is the trend for most brands). The handles are bright brushed stainless that match my other GE appliances perfectly, but the doors are a darker/grayer color. Luckily it hides fingerprints better than most brands. If the sides of your installation will be covered then so will most of the ugliness I just listed.

As a side note, never order anything from Sears Outlet Online. You will regret it.

I installed the new ice maker tonight. It is essentially the same as the old one for my Kenmoore (Whirlpool) 106.56532400 side-by-side refrigerator but with one redesign I hope improves performance. The original ice maker had a problem with the fill tube freezing. The new ice maker has a higher "wall" around the fill tube. I assume this is to block the air from the cooling duct freezing the water as it is dispensed into the tray--I hope I am right and that it works. One note for do-it-yourself types, it took our freezer about 3-hours for the first ice to drop (spec says up to 24-hours). From what I read, this is a function of the ice maker tray being cold enough--expected status. One last thought/recommendation: the new ice maker was dusty and you cannot get it perfectly clean so I will dump the first bin of ice.

It took me 15-20 minutes to install it into my Kitchen Aid fridge and few hours later I saw first few cubes of ice in the bucket. Works just fine, no issues, strongly recommend. Technician wanted $600+ to do the same.

I was nervous at first because obviously most of us don't go around installing ice makers all the time. I also debated on the official whirlpool product versus the knock-off. After reading pros and cons, I decided to go with the official product and glad I did so. It might have been more, but I know this is the product that is supposed to go with our refrigerator.

The old one slid out easily and the new one slid in easy. We were initially nervous because ice cubes didn't pop out in seconds, but within two hours, voila there were ice cubes. Hooray! Definitely recommend.

I have no complaints at all about this product. My fridge leaked and did some damage. It's too bad the part that went bad was only $50 but the damage it caused was many times more than that. It damaged drywall, flooring, etc. This replacement part was new and works great.

I may just replace this part every 5 years (if I remember LOL) as preventative maintenance, because when it fails it really sucks!

Great idea, and seemingly great value,but it won't last even 5 years before needing to replace, due to insufficient cooling. Get a better brand and at least 10 year warranty. I've read other reviews from other sites saying the same thing. Whirlpool was of no help what so ever.

And that is about what it is worth. I purchased a small appliance and this came free with it from Amazon. After using it a few times I will return to my other crock pot. The lid is designed so the moisture is captured on the outer ring, and the lid tends to "float" on the moisture. When something is cooking the lid will start vibrating as if there were an earthquake.

The "Keep Warm" setting should be labeled "Overcook". Not only did it keep it warm, but it kept it so hot that the contents overcooked. The Keep Warm setting is extremely hot, nearly as hot as the High setting.

Crock pots are not like they were in the initial years; due to worries about food safety, I've noticed newer crock pots spike the heat at the end of the cycle on "low." My guess is that this is to keep the food sufficiently warm during cooking to avoid bacterial growth. This pot keeps food on "warm" very hot. I had a cheese sauce set on warm to keep it after the initial cooking phase, well, it was cooking still on warm and got browned.

This is inexpensive and plain (no funky graphics) and the inner liner pulls out for easy cleaning; something some crock pots in this price range don't have. For a crockpot to use to keep mulled cider warm, cocktail meatballs simmering, or soup hot for serve-yourself-whenever, this is not a bad choice. Or it makes a good smaller crock--my regular crock is rather large and not always suitable for one-or-two person meals. On the whole, this pot has its uses and is reasonably priced enough for occasional purposes.

I normally am only cooking for myself and my fiance, so this crock pot tends to do just fine. I have another one that is much larger but I barely use it! This crock pot is super cheap, and works fairly well considering the price. It tends to cook a little higher temperature than it should sometimes stuff gets a little overcooked (depending on what you're making!).

The pot is also easy to clean. The liner inside pulls out and rinses off pretty easily... so far I haven't had many issues with it. For the price, I really can't complain too much. It makes a great crock pot for someone just starting out on their own, or as a gift to a college student or someone getting their first apartment/home. It has its faults, but overall its not a bad appliance.

I love cooking meat in a crockpot because it breaks apart, but no matter what temp I try cooking at with this thing, even keep warm, it comes out like shoe leather. It cooks so hot the lid bounces up and down and the liquid boils. I don't recommend this.

I got this crockpot a few weeks ago. Made one recipie in it so far a chicken dish with carrots/potatoes/water chestnuts in Italian dressing (an internet recipie). Came out quite good. I did have a little problem with boil over where liquid got under the china crockpot and burned onto the metal base and onto the table think it was my fault for putting too much liquid in. With a bit of scrubbing and orange cleaner, all the burnt stuff came off and it looks like new.

I think my family will enjoy this very much.

I bought this LG french door refrigerator (with ice & water in the door) in July of 2008. It's design (especially coveted the ice/water shelf for pichers) and energy star standing coupled with price (not bought at Amazon) led to choosing LG. Immediately the ice dispenser began jamming, a regular occurrence onward. I experimented with different size cubes but that had no impact on the jamming. We use the ice dispenser multiple times daily. It soon was clear to me the failing was a design fault not a mechanical failure. We previouly had for 19 years an in the door dispenser that had never once failed-it was an auger type that occupied the top left shelf in the refrigerator. The LG is totally in the door and basically relies on gravity to feed the ice. A few months later we got notice that the Energy Star rating did not apply to this refrigerator after all. LG offered a repair or monthly check up to a total of $170. I wrote back that since they had miss represented the refrigerator and the Energy Star rating was a major factor in my purchase choice I wanted the refrigerator replaced. I never heard back from them. After about 2 years of use the temperature control became erratic. Faced with a joice of repair or replace (and really frustrated with the ice dispenser and their refusal to respond to my request for a replacement refrigerator) I choose to replace the LG. As of last Friday, I own a similar Samsung refrigerator (although is is 4 cubic feet larger inside thru design efficiencies). After realizing LG was not going to respond to my request, I began purging LG possesions. I first got rid of my LG cell phone, replacing it with a Motorola. Next will be my LG Blue Ray player.

Ice dispenser jammed most of the time , especially after we used the " crush " feature then switch to " cube" .

The icemaker isself is a bad design . The motor actually turn and twist the ice tray to release ice ( not like the other model which heat up the tray to release ice ). After so many twist and turn, the wire harness which connect to the temp sensor underneath the ice tray broke internally rending the icemaker inop .

If you live in the region with hard water ( Ft Myers, FL as an example ) then the calcification with stick to the ice tray which ,in turn, to cause at least half the amount of ice cubes stick to the tray ,only half of them drop down to the ice bin. This also cause the icemaker mechanism to go bad when its motor try too hard to twist the tray ... end up stripping the gear inside . Within 2 1/2 years ... I had to replace the icemaker twice

Ice bin too small, not enough ice for family of 4 in a hot summer days unless you empty the ice into a bucket which locate in freezer compartment. I'll never recommend this model to anyone

I like the spacious room that this refrigerator has which is why I gave it 3 stars. I read the previous review about the ice maker and couldn't agree more. The ice maker dispenser doesn't dispense properly. We are constantly unjamming the ice every time it's needed. The water dispenser doesn't dispense cold water, just cool, which is why we need to add ice. LG needs to completely re-design their ice dispenser unit. This one is terrible.

I bought this fridge the same time I purchased GE Profile dishwasher, gas range and microwave. LOVE my other appliances, but this fridge has an exterior surface that is impossible to clean and shine. No matter what I've tried (Stainless cleaners, all purpose cleaners, window cleaners, soapy water, etc), nothing removes the ugly streaks! It's only 1 year old and looks terrible, while my GE appliances look as beautiful as they did the day I bought them! By the way, no children in my house.
