We bought this appliance for a new wet bar we are installing. We ordered it indirectly from Amazon (Gerhard's Appliance). There was a gap of about four weeks between the time is arrived and the time it was installed. When we finally plugged it in, the compressor was making a horrible rattling noise. Gerhards is refusing to exchange the unit, and is saying our only recourse is repair. I am left wondering why I paid full price for a lemon. KitchenAid is refuing to back up their products and is also being unhelpful. I will never again buy a KitchenAid/Whirlpool product.

After seeing the square trade warranty offered on ebay ( found it on amazon after 'search' because amazon didn't offer it at checkout ?) I read the SquareTrade contract details. Seems like the '4 year' warranty is only an additional 2 years beyond the OEM 2 year warranty. I guess a little bit of hype and hyperbole makes for a good sales pitch. All in all tho, aside from egregious marketing spiel, 289.00 to extend the warranty on a $2200.00 appliance is not REALLY all that terrible, esp considering most products will fail 5-10 days AFTER OEM warranty runs out lol. Sure wish they would be a little more upfront about the fact they are just offering an 'extended warranty' tho.

This is by no means a brand name or high quality filter, it's one that should be changed in 3 months instead of 6, but it works and doesn't cost an arm and a leg either.

I did a LOT of research before I bought this model. 26 out of 32 people gave it 5 stars. Well, I like the fridge fine but it is so LOUD! I know others complained about it, but I wasn't prepared for how noisy it is. My old Kenmore, which I had for 23 years, made no noise at all. I can hear it on the other side of the house. Sounds like a dishwasher running. Even my two cats look up, like, what's going on? And when the ice falls into the bucket, they jump. I have called for a repair person to come later in the week, but based on what I've heard others say, I don't expect anything will happen there. If I return it, there will be a 20% restocking fee (which would be over $108 dollars and I would lose, of course, the nonrefundable delivery charge for a total of $168. Or, I can replace it with the exact same model. The previous reviewer said shame on GE, and I agree. Shame on GE for such a noisy appliance. I thought modern appliances were supposed to be better!!!!!

No refridgerator I have ever owned made this loud and anoying noise. GE offered to replace it with another model plus $226 from me but, the reviews said it made the noise too. Guess I will just have to live with the NOISE. Shame on you GE !!!

Most of this is fact but I have included some opinions.

I purchased a General Electric Profile refrigerator on 7/27/08 from Best Buy for $2281.23. It had been working acceptably until about the middle of April of 2012. We called GE repair and GE sent out a technician on 5/2/12, but he didn't have the part so he couldn't fix it the first time he came out. On 5/4/12 he came back out and did a few things including replacing parts WR55X10956, WR55X10490, and something called a REFER MAINBOARD Pkg. He said at first that he was sure it was the mainboard. The charges for the parts and labor was $324.91. Then when it wasn't acting the way he expected, he said he thought it might be the compressor but that we could wait to see if what he'd done fixed it. He ordered a compressor just in case and scheduled an appointment for 5/14/12 and told me if I got the compressor he'd come get it.. The refrigerator allows the consumer to set the freezer and refrigerator temperatures. We set them for the temperatures that GE recommends. The next day the refrigerator was maintaining the freezer and refrigerator temperatures so we canceled the 5/14/12 appointment. When canceling, we told the GE support person on the phone that he'd ordered a compressor to be delivered to my house. The support person said he'd canceled that too. Several days later we received the compressor that had been theoretically canceled. We never heard from the GE repair man about coming to pick up the compressor.

On 6/30/12 we noticed that the refrigerator was not maintaining the set temperatures so we called GE again.

They gave me an appointment for 7/6/12. Today he came out again but told me that they had not allowed him enough time to replace the compressor so he'd have to reschedule. The first available time for installing a compressor is 7/16/12.

I think GE is responsible for manufacturing a lousy product and having awful support of the garbage they manufacture.

LG LT700P Refrigerator Water Filter

Just FYI with the review title... This is an exact replacement for the Kenmore version. Heck even the same photo of the straw sipping lady on the front. My french door Kenmore "Elite" was actually made by (gasp) the same plant that makes LG refrigerators so no big shock. The Kenmore brand filter is 50% more at Sears for some reason... The replacement reminder on the fridge is set for a specific volume +/and not the actual filter condition or flow, so if you have a decent water supply it can easily go through 2+ cycles without a drop in water quality (in my opinion). Works fine, and as clean and lightly chlorinated my city water is, I may not bother to replace again.

The replacement filter for our LG French Door refrigerator arrived quickly, was the correct one, and was received in perfect condition. The price was well below what I could have purchased it for locally, even with the shipping cost added on.

I was apprehensive to replace the old filter, as it was the first time that it needed to be replaced. Installation instructions were included with the filter, and I had no problem removing the old one and replacing it with the new one.

I plan on continuing to purchase our replacement filters through Amazon.

After reading and doing some research, I thought the ADQ36006101 / LT700P is a replacement for the ADQ36006102. It is NOT! I thought I would save about $15 to install it in my Kenmore refrigerator. Well after comparing the two, they looked like a good replacement. I installed it and threw the old filter in the garbage. The next day the filter leaked some water. Hence, I went out and bought the ADQ36006102 filter. I compared again and noticed the tip of the ADQ36006102 is slightly longer than the ADQ36006101. I installed the ADQ36006102 and not water leak problems.

Frigidaire 5303918301 Garage Kit for Refrigerator

used to empty my freezer every winter as everything would defrost in a cold spell of several days

I purchased a Kenmore 18.2 cu ft Refrigerator (Top Freezer) for the garage and needed the freezer to work correctly. This kit fits pretty much all Frigidaire/Kenmore Top Freezer Refrigerators 2001 or later. Do a quick google of "how to install garage refrigerator heater kit", and you will see a result with step by step instructions with pictures. It didn't take me more than 5 minutes, and it works.

This was a cheaper option than buying a Gladiator fridge for the garage. Cost of refrigerator (18.2 cu ft) at Sears and this kit: $405 plus tax. Gladiator refrigerator (19.0 cu ft): $1080 plus tax.

After 12 hours of the installation, the freezer and refrigerator are working at correct temps. Outside temp has been 32/15 (day/night), and now the freezer cycles between 3 and 8 degrees, with the refrigerator staying at 35 degrees. Before, the freezer cycled at 29-35 degrees. No more freezer burnt meat.

Turns out my refrigerator had electronic switching and this unit wouldn't

work. Instead, I modified the refrigerator to keep the light

on all the time and replaced the standard light bulb with 10

Watts worth of Christmas lights.... Works well so far.

I took a chance that this was indeed the right filter for the Pureair fliter housing in my Frigidaire, despite the description and the picture. The filters I received have the removable panel on one side. The actual dimensions of the filter are 4 7/8" x 6 3/4" x 1/2". The advertised dimensions must be for the box in which the two filters are packaged. The part number is Electrolux #242047801, which turned out to be the exact replacment for my old filter. When it comes time for replacement, I'll buy from these folks again. Just wish they would update the product information.
