Hose End Timer Battery Operated 3/4" FHT x MHT

I love this product. I hate wasting water, but I really love growing my veggies. With this, I was able to set up once a day watering through my soaker hose for about 30 minutes. This means that me veggies grew very well, but I did not have to waste a lot of water. I love the fact that this timer allows me to set multiple irrigation times, so I could have set up 3 10-minute waterings.

The buttons can be a bit difficult, as they are only slightly raised and a bit close together, but its easy to learn to get around that.

Great tool for gardeners.

I bought three of these last year, and was quite pleased. So I bought two more this spring. One failed right before I got the two new ones. Somehow water got in the electronics. Not sure how, I brought them in during winter, and the o rings were good. Now this week both my other old ones failed with the same problem. Thats over $100 down the drain. Try another brand.

I ate at a sustainable restaurant that didn't serve bottled water, but offered chilled filtered water. It was so delicious that I asked the manager what kind of filter it was and he said a 3M Cuno. Cuno is Aqua Pure, so I decided to buy this filter for under the sink installation. A plumber took less than half an hour to install it (a decent handyman or homeowner could do this, I am just bad at DIY). The water is great. No more bottled water or crappy Brita or Pur filters.

At maximum cooling, the coolest the red range gets is 61 degrees F and the coolest the white section gets is 49 degrees F....that's with the unit empty! If you load it with room temperature wines, it takes days to return to 61-62 degrees and low 50's for the white section (versus the commonly-recommended 55 for reds and 45 for whites). The Kitchenaid customer service rep informed us that their acceptable operating ranges are 60 degrees, plus or minus 5 degrees...are you kidding? That puts 65 degrees in their acceptable range...the temperature above which reds can age at an accelerated rate. We're yanking this thing out and installing the Sub Zero model, that we've had in 2 previous homes....more money, but this is definitely a case where you get what you pay for.

AquaFresh WF285 Refrigerator Replacement Filter

We purchased this filter (AquaFresh WF285) from another online retailer as a less expensive alternative to our Whirlpool brand filter. Bad choice.

Immediately after installing it we noticed it was producing lots of very tiny black particles of debris in the water, even though we had run the recommended 2 quarts of water through it. Long story short, over 30 minutes and 20 quarts of water later, the water was still filled with these very small carbon pieces, almost like black dust.

We removed it and put our Whirlpool brand filter back in, and within 4 quarts the debris started to go away, and after 6 quarts the water was running clean again.

So, we assumed that we must have simply received a defective filter. Not so.

We contacted the online retailer and they sent us a new one in exchange, and the new one gave us the same exact results. We ran gallon after gallon of water through it (thoroughly rinsing the jug between fills to make sure we weren't seeing lingering remnant debris), and still the second replacement WF285 kept producing water filled with black carbon dust.

However, you do need a keen eye to notice it so I'm guessing that's why we haven't found other negative reviews of the product yet. We believe it's likely that most people simply don't notice the carbon dust after a few quarts because it's so fine, and I'm willing to bet that a lot of people are drinking some carbon-dusty water right now because they've never taken a close look at their water after using this.

If you have this product, fill a white (or very light) colored bowl or juice jug with it and let it sit for a few seconds and watch it under good lighting. You will notice that as the water settles the carbon dust begins to rise to the top and swirl together, making it more visible for people with poor eyesight.

We've switched back to the actual Whirlpool brand and our fridge water is perfectly clean again. Too bad, we were really hoping to save some money because the Whirlpool filters are so much more expensive, but it's totally not worth drinking nasty water from poorly made filters to save a lousy 10 bucks. This experience has us back to buying filters direct from Whirlpool now at a premium. Major bummer.

I bought this filter because it was the cheapest of the whole bunch. It really is true.....you get what you pay for. This filter doesn't help with the taste and odor of my water. I just purchased another filter from ABT that is the original filter for my refrigerator for $10 more and no shipping costs. DO NOT BUY THIS FILTER!

I have purchased 3 of these filters for my fridge. The first time I purchased 2 at one time so I could have a backup. 1 day after installing the first one, the plastic part of the filter broke and water QUICKLY started leaking from the filter onto the floor. I figured it was just a 1 in a million thing and put the other filter in. It worked fine for the 3 months until my little light told me it was time to order a new one. I ordered one and replaced the filter. One week later, pop, the plastic seal broke yet again and water again was all over my floor. I was very, very lucky to be at home and in the kitchen BOTH times they broke, otherwise I would have come home to a flooded house as the water comes out at full force. I would recommend spending the extra money for a different filter. I know I will from now on.........

Like DigitalMan's review, I too decided to try to save some money and get the cheaper AquaFresh brand filter. I ordered a 3-pack in October 2008 from another online vendor for about $76 (about the cost of 2 by Pur). I also noticed the black particulates (maybe charcoal?) when installing the first filter. I ran several gallons of water through it (much more than is recommended) and it seemed to clear up, although I forgot to check later on. Today, I installed the second one and I'm not going to try the third. I must have run about 4 gallons of water through the line. After noticing some particulates in the water of the large gallon pitcher I was using, I switched between tap water and the refrigerator multiple times using a wine glass, allowing for the air bubbles to clear out. The tap water was clear, but the water coming from the Aquafresh filter had black particulates and a few white fibers as well. It may not be harmful (who knows), but the Kenmore/Pur brand filters I used before never had that problem. I'm going to order the more expensive brand filters again and will drink pure Schuylkill Punch (what we call the tap water in southeastern Pennsylvania) until the new filters come. I still believe that many times you CAN save money by shopping around for a cheaper brand with equal or better quality, but in this case that's not my experience which is why I'm taking the time to write this review.

My Kenmore refrigerator said it was time for a new filter, and I was at the end of a two pack that I had bought a bit over a year ago, so I was looking here for the best deal. I considered these AquaFresh filters, but then was put off by the negative reviews and I ended up buying the genuine Whirlpool 4396510P filters instead (the one that removes smaller particles and cysts). They arrived today and I swapped out the filter, and it turned out that this AquaFresh filter was the filter I was replacing. I have used the two-pack for over a year (my fridge keeps track of water flow, so it's sometimes more than six months between replacements) and I have to say that I was perfectly happy with them.

They both ran clear from the start and the water tasted clean and fresh throughout their lives. If I had realized that this was the brand I was already using, I would have gone ahead and bought it again. All this discussion got me wondering about any other difference between the two, so I went out to their web site just now to see if it was doing the same job of filtering as the high-end Whirlpool one. I wanted a refrigerator that would get really cold, was black and had more room than one with a freezer which I knew I would rarely use. So, based on the good reviews I purchased this Danby DAR195BL 1.8 cu.ft. All Refrigerator Black.

This compact fridge is very nice. I wanted to mostly use it for drinks, and some lunch stuff/snacks and quick meal items like a carton of eggs, salad dressings and cheeses/luncheon meats; maybe a loaf of bread. They went in with room to spare. The slots for soda/beer cans and my once a day 9.5 oz. bottles of iced Starbuck's Frappucino are nice, everything slid in perfectly. Plus it fits a 2-liter bottle of soda in the door or a quart of milk and a quart of orange juice. Nice 11" depth on the top 2 shelves but items can overhang by another 2", so ideal for leftovers or take-out. Only the bottom shelf is shorter, about 6.5" deep. But so far great! And when you get the temperature dial just right and figure out where to put the soda cans so they get a bit of a freeze on them, you get a heavenly cold drink on a hot day.

So, that's where the good part ended. It was supposed to be quiet according to most reviews. So I waited a few hours before firing it up (as was recommended) then plugged it in. To my dismay, when the compressor came on it was pretty loud. But I shrugged and just thought it needed about 24 hours to cool itself down and figured it would adjust itself. Well, that didn't happen. It sounds like a mini airplane running it's engine all night long in my bedroom(I've got it set about mid way on the dial). I can even hear it in the living room, over the sound of the television. It makes a constant humming sound at a pitch that just can't be ignored. And we have moved it to different locations/positions too, to try to get it to make less noise but to no avail. The left side also gets VERY hot while the compressor is running.

I love everything about this little fridge but the noise is driving me crazy. I've turned down the dial to a less cool setting to keep the compressor from coming on as often, but now my drinks aren't nearly as cool and refreshing. It's kind of ironic though, because I read a comment about the Emerson 1.8 Cu. Ft Compact Refrigerator (not currently available on Amazon but sold by Target) which is also supposed to be very quiet. That person said his fridge sounded like an "airplane overhead". So I'm thinking this is a quality control issue with these type of fridges or possibly cheap Chinese compressors. Maybe it's just the luck of the draw if you get a quiet or noisy one.

At any rate, I'm thinking maybe I got a defective one, because no one has complained of noise like this. I plan to call Amazon and get a replacement. I'm just hoping that I WILL actually get a quiet one. I really don't mean to discourage anyone from purchasing this unit, because I REALLY like it. But I did feel I should point out how noisy mine is, because maybe they're not making them as good as they used to or maybe they are now being manufactured by another company. Don't really know, just very, very disappointed.

UPDATE 4/3/12: Noise Problem Resolved: Replacement fridge is Great. It's VERY quiet and is warm, not hot, on the sides when the compressor is running. Did have a wobble but was an easy fix. With the dial set to 3/4 my coffee drinks are freezing cold at the bottom level in the door and the back of lower shelf. Need to do a bit more fiddling with the dial, or not. I'm definitely keeping this one!

Note: The AC plug is a "flat to the wall" type so the cord(measuring 6 feet 3 inches) runs against the wall instead of sticking straight out. This means you can push the fridge quite close to a wall. This is a small feature but one I like a lot.

No matter where you buy the fridge it comes only in factory packaging which is not very protective. However, neither of the two I received was dented.

UPDATE 5/12/12: Fridge still running great and I still love it. Holds so much stuff.

UPDATE 6/14/12: The back of the middle shelf is the coldest shelf in the fridge as it sits directly in front of the cooling element. With the temperature dial set at a little past the 3/4 mark, food can freeze on the middle shelf. Once you're past the 3/4 mark on the dial the areas with the greatest freeze potential are anything closest to the back of the middle shelf with the exception of the top shelf. The top shelf is the warmer of the 3 shelfs; hot air rises physics I guess. Fridge working good and I'm still amazed at how much stuff it holds.

UPDATE 8/7/12: As I know this is the time of year when people are looking to send their kids off to college with a compact dorm fridge I will just mention that this item is also sold by at Home Depot but may not be available online.

I'd read some reviews on other sites for this model about how lots of people had to adjust the temp because their drinks were too cold (or even freezing). Since that's how cold I want my fridge to be able to cool, I bought one. The other reviews were right! The unit is advertised to keep a temp that's 40 degrees cooler than the surrounding temp. I can testify it does that and more. I have this in in an office environment at work, which is always near 70 degrees. The first time I got this fridge running it cooled down to the high 20's my drinks were partially frozen and undrinkable. That means this fridge is capable of cooling to a little more than 40 degrees than it's surrounding temp. Perfect! I merely adjusted the temp a little so now it hovers around the low 30's. That means I can depend on my drinks being ice-cold. The knob for adjusting the temp is in the back, so it's a little hard to reach. But fortunately it's near the top, so you don't need to pull out the fridge to reach it. You just have to crouch down all the way and reach over the top.

I work in southern California where it's now in the 90's outside, so it's aweseome when I'm hot and sweaty to be able to open up my fridge and pull out an ice-cold drink. I'm actually going to buy another one for home!

The only problem I had is the first one arrived defective didn't cool at all. The vendor arranged a UPS pick-up (fortunately I'd kept the packaging it was dead out of the box) and within a few short days the replacement unit arrived. It's worked perfectly since.

I bought this model based on Musicdex's recommendation above. Everything (s)he says is right on the mark. I've had food freeze in this fridge, so it probably can keep a frozen entree frozen or pretty darn close.

It's also very quiet. I have it under my desk at work, where I'm in an equally quiet area of the office. Love it, love it, love it.

I purchased this refrigerator in June of 2011 and am very pleased with how well it maintains its cold temperature, even when the temperature of my room is around 80 degrees during the summer. I selected this unit because it uses a compressor rather than semiconductor technology which, from what I've read, is not recommended for ambient temperatures >77 degrees. I keep a hanging thermometer inside and check the temperature frequently. I have set the temperature so that it is just below 40 degrees, which is below the maximum setting. This refrigerator can really get cold. When I tested the maximum setting, it was 34 degrees inside.

This unit has two shelves and a "can rack" in the door. The top shelf is just high enough for a carton of eggs and deep enough for two cartons. A portion of the bottom is sacrificed to the compressor in the back but, overall, this refrigerator can hold a lot. The can rack can be used for condiments, yogurt, etc. And the space in the door next to the rack will hold two quart-sized milk/juice boxes. Just be careful not to block the vents in the back of the compartment because the back wall will ice up and the refrigerator will shut itself off. This happened to me, but once I unplugged it and let it thaw out and then plugged it back in, it came back on.

Pros:

COLD.

Energy Star. Economical to run.

Nice unobtrusive black finish.

Efficient use of interior space.

Compressor cooling.

Cons:

Not loud, but may be a little noisier (because of the compressor).

I am pleased with this refrigerator and recommend it highly.

UPDATE 5/6/13: This refrigerator has been running for nearly two years with no problems.

I purchased this fridge to go in our bedroom. Sometimes at night especially in the winter with the dry heat my hubby and I get thirsty and don't want to go all the way downstairs to the kitchen to get a drink late at night. I looked a several models and reviews and decided to purchase this one in spite of the fact that some reviewers were complaining about a noise. Well unfortunately, I think I got one of those. The instructions say to let it sit at least 2 hrs after unpacking before you plug it in (I guess to make sure that the compressor oil is settled)and I let it sit for about 4 hrs. When I plugged it in, it made its normal fridge start up sounds and began cooling. It took about 3 hours to initially cool my drinks inside. I love the can holders on the door. My little 8oz drink cans fit perfectly and I was also able to put 12 19.9oz bottles of water inside. The noise happens when it cycles on and off to cool. I was ok the first night, but by the second day it began to also whistle (I guess this was the airplane noise customers described) while it was on and it got louder and very annoying. It cools great but neither my husband or myself could sleep that night because it was so annoying therfore, I had to send it back. I don't think I want to try another one at this point to see if it works better, I'm just going to try another type I was also looking at.

After a month of use to get it broken in I believe I can share my brief experience with this filter. First off, installation was really easy. Less than 30 minutes (don't forget to 'flush' it for five minutes). The water I had previously smelled and tasted like pool water. It seemed to have a more than acceptable amount of chlorine going by smell alone. As soon as I plugged this filter in instantly odorless tasteless water came out. Also, very recently some maintenance was done to the city pipes turning all the water in the house brown for a short while. Sinks, toilets, hose, everything that is except the fridge attached to this filter was clearly brown. Hands down side by side comparison this filter does an awesome job. If you want a better sense of security and want to remove the nasties that end up in your water get this filter.

I buy these for 29.99 at home depot, the exact same model. We have some 500lb/day commercial ice makers, they get to be a real mess when the water isn't filtered, these filters do the job cheaply and last for a fair amount of time, for us we replace every year, but they REALLY get used. I have never seen black stuff come out of them, I just install one and run a 30min clean cycle on the ice machine and have never seen black specs in the ice. (The 30 min clean cycle dumps about 5 gallons of water, before making ice).

Pro: cheap, works well, again cheap

Cons: has to be unscrewed to replace and water must be turned off, where as some more expensive have 1/4 turn replacement filters.

This is my second filter. The first one was purchased around four years ago for the ice and water dispensor on the fridge. We use this quite a bit so we didn't get the full 5 Years but I'm almost certain we used more than 20,000 gallons.

The filter removes odors better than any other filters I've tried in the past and improves tastes also. I'm on city water supply thats been treated.

We've been buying this filter for many years for our ice maker on the refrigerator. Yes, it says 5 years, but we never expected that and usually replaced it every year. We follow the instructions for running water through it and are used to the shot of black water (from the charcoal) that comes out first. This year, after running more water through it than ever before, we continued to have small particles in the water. These were not air bubbles as they continued to swirl in the water glass. I made a special rig to hook it up directly to an outside hose bib (so we didn't have to use the 'bucket brigade' and ran water through it continuously for 20 minutes. We continued to have the particles.

We removed the filter and connected our city water directly to the refrigerator and the particles were gone. We won't be buying this filter again. Amazon was very nice about the return and we will continue to purchase through them.

I didn't bother with the door handle. It looked like it would come off too easily. But it opens just fine by grabbing the top. Where I have this, it actually works better to not have the handle.

While it was getting to temperature the fans were noisy, but it is now quiet. I actually had to read the instructions for how to set the temperature so it's not quite as intuitive as I like, but heh, I guess 3 minutes to absorb up from down is not too bad.

I love having wine at the perfect temperature. No more too cold white or too warm red. I buy wines to consume, not to preserve, so this works just right for me. I was happy to find a wine cooler just the right size for the space I wanted it in.

The back of the unit makes some of the spaces shorter. I have smaller desert bottles in those spaces. You just have to experiment with what fits where. Too bad champagne bottles don't fit, but I knew that going in.

I highly recommend this cooler for the casual consumer of wine.

The only complaint I have is the digital numbers on the front illuminate my living room when all the lights are off. I would defintley recommend this fridge, especially for a first one.

Unfortunately this is only an average Wine Cooler. The main reason is how quickly it changes fan speed. If it was more gradual it would be less noticable and not as annoying. As it is the change is drastic and each time it happens you will take notice.

Only recommended if you are going to keep it in a room which no one uses on a day to day basis.

It also cannot accomodate all my wines in the "correct" position and I have to put them on a diagonal taking 3 places instead of one.

Not the quietest fridge but I don't have it where it bothers me. The only thing that would be better is if the duel zones were switched as the top is the section that gets the coldest so I can only put 6 whites in which I drink more of then the red. I killed my old refrigerator by over-stuffing the freezer section. This little freezer provides the perfect backup for my new one. It fits in a corner and makes a nice little end table. It stays very cold, maybe because I only use it for long-term storage and don't open the door very often. You do need to pay attention to the warning about keeping it level. When it gets bumped off kilter, it rattles loudly. On kilter, it's so quiet, you have to feel it to know it's working.

We purchased the Dancy 54 Bottle Wine Cooler in stainless steel and within 4 months of operation, the unit ceased to cool and one side overheated.

As Danby claims to have a one year warranty, we called Danby and found that since we had purchased the cooler at the beginning of our remodel and did not install the unit until the renovation was complete, the warranty would not be honored as we were a mere two weeks past our warranty expiration date.

PLEASE NOTE that you cannot get Danby wine or beverage coolers serviced, states Danby customer service, as they are "contained units" which means the entire unit has to be replaced under warranty, not just the cooling elements. If it breaks during the first year, they will OSTENSIBLY send you a new unit. But who knows if they will even honor their one year warranty, based upon their reluctance to handle the simplest of customer service issues with us. It took days to get to a representative and even then they completely refused to stand behind their product.

After several tries with Danby customer service to no avail, we contacted the President of Danby, whom we were sure would make this situation right but were completely ignored. I'll bet he gets a lot of calls and mail about this very thing. Do yourself a favor and save on shipping put $900 IN A PILE AND BURN IT rather than buy any Danby product. Better yet, buy another brand, as we did. Our new cooler works just fine and it can be repaired if it breaks, as it is 21st century technology. Our new unit was cheaper, too, and is better looking.

Come on! It's a little fridge, not rocket science, and they can't get a $900 wine cooler to work for more than four months without breaking down? I'd be interested to hear from any other Danby wine cooler purchasers as I have a suspicion that these units are manufactured to meet planned obsolescence of approximately one year as a means of bilking the consumer.

Yes, you heard me, Danby, if you read these reviews: Your customer service reps were too practiced in their denial of warranty coverage for us to believe that this is an uncommon occurrence. We'd also like to hear from you, Danby, since we've not received a reply to any of our communications for several months now.

Don't buy one of these -I received one that was DOA. I could actually see where the copper line coming out of the compressor wasn't connected. Danby wanted to send someone out to fix it. They gave me three "authorized repair" phone numbers in the Bay Area, but none of them would come to San Francisco. After going back and forth between Danby and the retailer, finally the retailer took it back and send me a new one that works for now.

Terrible quality. Even worse customer service by Danby.

I'd never buy another Danby wine cooler. I can't beleive how loud this unit is. It is so bad, I have to unplug it when we have company as it is too distracting.

Not happy with the wine cooler. It is too loud, with disturbing humming in the kitchen.

Otherwise, the shelves are little tight for the mentioned number of bottles to be stacked.

Item looks somewhat "cheaply made" and flimsy.

I installed this wine cooler where I had an existing 15' cabinet/drawer. Install was easy, the fitment is great. It doesn't make much noise while running, about the same as a regular fridge. It's packed with lots of useful features such as: roller shelves, temp display with digital readout, reversable door, lockable door, LED lighting, etc. We are very happy with it.

We purchased this fridge from Lowes, not amazon, but it was the exact same model. Looks great, huge inside and big bottom freezer.... But looks arent everything... within 3 months the fridge and freezer stopped cooling the food. Of course this happened 3 days before Easter when I was making a HUGE Easter dinner. The service dept. could not come out until the next afternoon. The temp panel on the side stopped working, and the motor blew out. Ruined all my food. Didn't have a cooler so had to go buy 3 foam ones with 12 bags of Ice to put everything in so I could try to spare the $300 worth of food I jad just bought.

Already had a service call within the first year, they wouldnt replace it just fix it.. This probably wont even last 2 years. What a piece of junk.

We purchased this model this August (3 months ago) from the leading home improvement/supply store. Purchased from their Web site without actually seeing the product first ...boy was that a mistake! One look at this fridge will make clear what a cheap product it is. Sure, it is large, but this fridge just screams low quality at almost every criteria. For example, the large handle to open the freezer drawer is loose and just wiggles up and down like some screws are loose, but that's just the way it is designed!? The drawers inside the fridge are so flimsy they are hard to close. When you attempt to push them shut they tend to bend more than actually move back and forth. And I don't know who the genius was who decided to put one large drawer at the bottom of the fridge that spans the entire width of the interior. You have to open both refrigerator doors completely just to open this drawer, which is the kind of drawer you put most of your "go-to" items such as deli meats, cheeses, etc. This wouldn't be so bad if the fridge could actually keep its cool.

The fridge is set on 33, but will not go below 40 degrees. I leave a thermometer in there all night and in the morning it is still on 40-41.

Also, the freezer door had a tendency to not want to form a proper seal upon close from day one. In the past couple of weeks, it got worse all of a sudden, and now the freezer door pops back open when you shut it. There is a one inch gap on one side and half inch on the other. There is nothing blocking the door, it is just a major defect in the design. We have to use a giant bungee cord wrapped around the bottom of the fridge to keep the freezer shut while we wait for the repair company to come back with the parts to repair this issue. The repair man also explained that the fridge is cooled by the freezer on this model, so the entire product is pretty much dysfunctional at this point.

The repair man also warned us never to buy another fridgedare product because the quality is poor and their support is virtually non-existent. He actually called Fridgedare on our behalf to see if they could send us a new fridge due to the extensive issues with this "new" product. All support were willing to do was give us a $25 voucher for the $500 in food we lost when the food spoiled. Oh yeah, and they promised to call the repair company, find out what parts were needed, and have those overnighted to our house, but we never heard from them again nor have we been able to make any more progress by trying to call back.

We thought we were getting a good deal on a very large fridge, simply because it lacked some features that we really didn't need, such as a water dispenser. There is a reason this very large fridge is so cheap and it's not because of lack of features. This is a terrible product and anybody who purchases it will definitely have a lot of issues. Not only are there huge design flaws and quality control issues, the materials used are very cheap and insufficient. I wish there were some way we could return this fridge but now we are stuck with this nightmare!

5/25/2013 Update.

After the initial review, the repair person eventually did come out and fix the freezer door. The temperature still will not go below the low 40's despite being set at the lowest setting of 33 degrees. A couple of months back I noticed a cool breeze when holding my hand in front of the lower portion of where the refrigerator doors shut. After continually feeling this cold air leaking out for a couple of weeks, I shined a flashlight towards the area and noticed I could see clear inside the fridge! There was a half inch gap between the refrigerator door at the lower portion. I had to call the service company again and the soonest they could come out was more than one week away. When the repair person finally arrived, I also notified him that the refrigerator door does not automatically shut when you release it, as it did when we purchased the fridge. He said that was normal and proceeded to argue with me, when I tried to disagree. Sure enough, when he fixed the seal by adjusting the doors, the door then shut on its own again. So just wanted to let you all know, that this fridge has continued to give problems after the initial review. We deeply regret this purchase.

I've had this refrigerator for about a year now and love it. However, the ice maker was always slow and now it has begun to turn itself off after emptying the ice. I don't know what to do except to have the ice maker replaced but I've read that the replacements are sometimes worse than the original. The label inside the refrigerator lists the ice maker as Model/Type JBND-28 but a web search returns no hits. Anyone have suggestions/comments. If you comment on this ad, I will get an e-mail.

The fridge is the worst POS I have ever bought. From day one in hasn't made much ice. I am the only one in the family that uses ice and it will barely keep up with one person's consumption. Also from day one you have to put a great deal of pressure on the left door to get the alarm sensor to read. If you don't a few minutes later you will be getting up to fix it. The only place to put 2 litter pop upright is on the door. The door pockets are not deep enough to keep a 2 litter from falling to the floor. 3 times now I have had 2 litters fall to the floor and explode and become pop rockets across the kitchen floor.

I used to work in engineering and it really pisses me off to see products that are poorly designed make it into production. In my opinion the design team at Frigidaire should be taken out and shot. I gave it a one star because you cant give ZERO.

Bought this model in May and frost collects on the light fixture in the center front of freezer and the seal at the same spot. Repair man made an adjustment and problem not fixed. Repairman returns with a new seal and now the freezer and evrything in it is frost covered barely frozen.He suggested i give the seal a couple of weeks the acclamate.I've removed everything because some froze soft and some didn't. Watery, icie and frosty in there.I guess we wait and see.

The ice maker came with no instructions but if you managed to get the old one out, this one slides in fairly easily by reversing the process. There was an odd plastic piece screwed to the bottom of the unit which I removed and the bolted on the sliding shelf piece that was attached to my old unit. I plugged the unit in, slid it back into place and within 15-20 minutes the tray was already filled with water.

Make sure you let the first several batches go through and then throw away the ice to make sure you're not getting any manufacturing contaminants. I wiped the unit out a little and then let it run over night and dumped what it had created just to be paranoid.

If you replace this item and you're still having trouble, be sure to check the blinking LED on the side of the freezer that is the sensor/indicator light (assuming your model is like mine). There's a pattern to the LED blinks. On mine, it would blink twice, pause, and then repeat. If you close the flap for the sensor, the blinking would change to a solid light. If you close the flap, and you're still getting blinking then there's a good chance that the sensor is somehow blocked or no longer good. In this case, you'll need a control board which for mine was...I believe...this model: Whirlpool Refrigerator P.C. Control Board Kit 4389102

I used the control/motor piece from this unit (connected with three screws) to replace the one in my old ice maker (from a Kenmore 106.565xxxx side-by-side black fridge bought in 2005) and it seems to have done the trick. It is now making ice again. Even though I only used that part from this unit, it seems it was the cheapest way to get the part, plus I have the rest of the unit should I need it in the future. I'm sure this saved me a bunch of $$$ compared to having a Sears repairman do it (probably about $300).

The ice maker replacement works fine. Note that our frig requires a different ice guide. That's the big white piece in the front. This part has a flat front but our OEM had a ramp guide. Without the ramp guide, your ice will eject all over the place inside your freezer. I was able to completely disassemble the old and new unit to replace the ice guide with the OEM guide. Pop the cover on the left side, remove the two silver screws only that hold the ice-tray to the motor assembly. Do not take apart the motor housing screws! Once the two screws are out, you can separate the tray assembly from the motor housing to replace the guide.
