Fisher & Paykel Izona RX216DT7X2 21.6 cu. ft. Side by Side Refrigerator
- 21.6 cu. ft. storage capacity
- Humidity crisper bin
- Beverage chiller
- Vegetable & meat drawers
We saw this refrigerator on a "special buy" and bought it on the spot! We purchased it for $899!!!
This is a sleek beautiful machine. There is a compartment on the door with its own sliding doors for milk, juice, etc, that has direct airflow from the freezer! It makes those drinks so cold and yummy! There are adjustable glass shelves that make it very easy to keep clean, one small drawer, one large drawer, and one drawer with an angled bottom that sits over the compressor.
On the freezer side, there are several wire shelves but, there are also deep pull out baskets! The baskets are so much easier to use than stacking items up in a freezer full of shelves and having to unpack an entire shelf to get to the back item!
I also want to point out that there are two lights on the fridge side and a the freezer side it lit as well. I have never had a fridge, either top feezer, or side by side that has a lit freezer!!!
There are digital controls, a filter order and filter replace indicator and a door open alarm.
I love this fridge, it's huge, but it looks so nice in our small kitchen!

GE WR51X10101 Defrost Heater and Bracket Assembly for Refrigerator
Priced at $4 is a great deal compared to other suppliers. It is packaged in a GE boxed piece of equipment. The only thing is that the heater is giving off a bit of a 'burning' smell. I'm hoping that this 'smell' goes away after a little time as the heater's coating is 'burned' off...... we'll see.
Great price, better design, complete retrofit kit, easy to install, quick standard shipping time,

Had a GE refrigator for 6 years and doesn't cool at all. Got a mechanics to check, asked for 600 worth of repair. As he is a friend's friend, I paid 100 for the diagnostics, which I found later is a rip off. Then I checked myself and diagnosed that the defrost hearter is the problem. Bought a pair just in case and install like in 15 minutes. Our refrigator is small, so be careful install and don't drop your bolts. After repair, the refrigerator works like new again. And still I have an extra for future repair as I heard those OEM ones last only couple of years.Read Best Reviews of GE WR51X10101 Defrost Heater and Bracket Assembly for Refrigerator Here

Everything went well with this order except for one thing. One of the filter frames of two had a dent in it. It did not affect the filter's usefulness, but had it been hit any harder during shipping it might have. Better shipping could have prevented this.Saturday, February 15, 2014
Frigidaire FFHT10F2LW 9.9 Cu. Ft. White Counter Depth Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy Star
As for design, the interior is not only very small, but very inefficiently designed. There are 2 small bins for produce about 1 cu.ft. each. Put in one head of romaine lettuce and it's full. The door compartments are a joke. There is no butter compartment and nothing for eggs. Instead, there are 6 little 6" x 5" shelves that each hold 3 cans of (warm) soda, and one huge shelf on the bottom for tall items. All in all, the door takes up 6" of the interior depth. The depth of the interior shelves range from approximately 13 to 15 inches. There are 3 adjustable shelves, but shelf space is no more than perhaps 750 square inches.
I live in an apartment unit with a small hallway, so getting anything large into it is a challenge. The unit this refrigerator replaced was European and designed for small spaces. It had a 10 cu.ft. capacity, but it felt like 20 compared to this new piece of crap. I've had this thing for a month, but I'm already thinking about tossing it.
This is the worst product. I feel that it was designed to fill a size niche for energy efficient refrigerators, with no other considerations. Certainly none was given to putting food in it--other than canned soda.I needed a small fridge for a "granny" apartment, and I always try to buy Energy Star. In a rare fit of supporting the local independent mom-and-pop store, I bought one of these in July. It took them over a month to get one from Frigidaire.
When first plugged in, it would run for maybe 15 minutes and then stop for at least that long. Took it over a day to get the fridge section down to 50F. With normal food inside, it won't go below 39F even on the very coldest setting. The off-to-on hysteresis is 10F, so at the coldest setting it cycles between 40F and 50F. The freezer will go to -18F if you turn its knob cold, but the refrigerator averages around 45F. If you take out all the liquids and heavy stuff, the fridge will freeze your lettuce to death before shutting off, while still waiting for about 50F to come back on.
It also makes a wide repertory of amazing noises, loud enough to be heard all over the house. Sometimes it is a "boink-boink-boink" sound from the compressor or the gas bubbling. Way louder than the normal soft boiling sound refrigeration sometimes makes. Other times it is a loud buzz from the air circulation fan you can tell because it stops when you open the fridge door. And sometimes it is normally quiet, but totally unpredictable.
The local repair guy keeps replacing fans and sensors, and the behavior changes a bit each time, but there doesn't seem to be a real fix. I'd love to hear from anyone else who has one of these, working well or not! Frigidaire, if you're listening, I'm not very hopeful about hauling this back to the store on my dime and waiting another month to see if a replacement would be any better. I'm thinking serious design flaw...

Bosch : SHE3AR75UC 24 Ascenta Series Full Console Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
- 14-Place Settings
- 6 Wash Cycles
- 2 Options
- Sanitize Option
- Delay Start
Since we already had the hookups from our old washer, I decided to install the unit myself and I am glad I did. Installation was easy, but a $20 hookup kit is recommended so you have all the brass fittings and hoses necessary to get the job done.
This Ascenta SHE3AR75UC is a less expensive machine than our last, and it does show in a few areas. The tub in ours is plastic instead of stainless, and the wire of the rack is a thinner gauge. The door works perfectly fine, but has a slightly stiff action when closing. The control panel on the front is clad with plastic, not stainless steel like the picture seems to show.
This washer is not silent like our last Bosch, but it is still quiet. Noise is the main caveat for not spending $250 on the next model up. Our old washer had a thick plastic casing that encased the lower internals, this one has exposed drain tubes that allow the sound of trickling water to be heard near the front kick panel. The trickling sound can be faintly heard from the next room with the room door open. Not a deal breaker.
Bosch decided to re-design its racks since our model, and I am not happy. I like to fit dishes most effectively for fuller loads. Our older Bosch had larger spacing between all the tines in the racks, allowing the rack to be more versatile for the different shapes of bowls and plates. The new rack has much tighter spacing between the tines of most sections, preventing certain dishes (cereal bowls and glasses in particular) to be fit almost anywhere in the lower rack. Our family has at least 4-6 cereal bowls per wash, and I am still trying to figure out where they should go. The Bosch manual should loading examples, none of which have more than two cereal bowls. I would estimate that the lack of versatility of the racks means that we lose up to 10-15% capacity per load over our old Bosch. Some Ascenta models come with a folding silverware rack that allows you to place it in different configurations for more versatility. I wish our model had that. Perhaps I will discover the secret to the new racks, but so far I am stymied. Not quite a deal breaker, but certainly knocks off a solid star (or star and a half) off of an otherwise perfect score.
The normal cycle takes longer than our old unit. 1:55 instead of 1:25. That one half hour is significant if you have to run two loads during a large dinner party. Otherwise, who cares. Fortunately, the machine offers "delicate" and "express" modes that take 1:20 and 0:30 minutes respectively which can serve in a pinch.
The washer does a fine job of cleaning. No complaints so far.
The biggest question is: How long will it last? We bought this less expensive model assuming that the control board or pump may eventually go bad (like most appliances we have had), so when we pass the warranty and extended warranty periods, the decision to replace the unit won't be as tragic. Hopefully Bosch has made some improvements since 12 years ago.
I will update this review if anything changes.

My old floor display LG finally was laid to rest. 5+ service calls and then it started leaking and wouldn't power up. I researched every web-site and every customer review. Bosch doesn't offer an affordable line with a build-in garbage disposal feature, which sounded like something I wanted as an added feature. Never-the-less... It was a holiday week and I needed my dishwasher replaced, and fast. I did my homework using Consumer reports, due to their testing and non-bias reviews. This model rated 81/100, which was the highest rating for dishwashers. I wasn't crazy about the models with hidden controls and I liked the remaining time display. The stainless steel tub is nice (note: the bottom and top aren't stainless steel... rather a greyish plastic, but who cares? The top rack is on a track which I do feel make for longer lasting and easier in and out access. It's not as quiet as my late LG. The sounds of filling and emptying cycles can be heard, however it's not a really big deal for me and it's only a little noticable. I read one review that says the Pot scrubing cycle doesn't get the water hot... WRONG! Opening my door during the cycle gave me a free-steam facial. Not recommended... LOL. So heat is not a problem. Here's what is...The loading problems I reviewed were not great, and this is true. The tines are very tight... Bosch is trying way too hard to make dishes fit. If I was only washing plates, this machine would be a dream. Note to Bosch... Most families use a large assortment of dishes, bowls, glasses, pots and pans. Put some space back between those tines! Some are adjustable but most on the bottom rack are fixed. (I have to be creative at times to get the plates and pots to fit at the same time. Deal breaker? Not really... I just want everything clean. And clean is what I'm getting. This unit is a work horse. I've done back to back washings after Thanksgiving. Even put the pots and pans all together for their own cycle, fearing that some food particles might settle on the glass ware, but this wasn't a problem at all. The filter does need to be cleaned once in a while, but I've only done so twice in 2 weeks, and it wasn't that bad at all. Might have even gotten by with just one cleaning.
Bosch recommends Finish tablet which is another #1 rating from Consumer reports. One soap tablet per wash. Not bad at all. There are enough settings to make my daily use easy. The quick wash selection is good for a normal breakfast. The sanitize option is great and helps the dishes dry as well. There is no heating unit, so that's a plus/ minus for some, but my LG didn't either so I knew what to expect.
For the price... This was a Great deal and I'm happy so far. I can take the little minor loading issues over the fact that I've always gotten a clean load when it's finished. Run times are long, 1-2+ hours, but again... nothing new for me. If you want clean and can tolerate a trickling noise between cycles, then look no further. Easy to self install... (took me 30 minutes) Note to Bosch... I like my products boxed... Not shrink wrapped. Just saying...LOL Time will tell how long this one will last, but so far, it's the best I've owed. Oh... Bosch is noted for the least amount of repairs. Good sale point for me. Hope this helped.
Mr. CaZI was disappointed in the quality of this dishwasher immediately. The tines are thin and bent easily, the racks are made of a very light cheap plastic, making them very unstable. They would come off the rails constantly and the wheels would pop off. However, it seemed to be getting the dishes clean and wasn't too bad with pots and pans (though they didn't fit in well). Of course, shortly after the warranty expired, the locking mechanism broke. The repairman who came told me to order the part myself because I'd get it quicker than he would that he has seen this problem with this model often. When I called Bosch to order the part, they said they could send a repair person at a cost of $99 for the first EIGHTEEN MINUTES and an additional charge for each additional SIX minutes. When I asked for an estimate, they couldn't tell me even approximately how long it would take to replace the part which seems ridiculous to me and makes it impossible for me to decide whether to repair it or throw it out.
UPDATE: Spent $200 to fix the door. Less than 2 weeks later I am getting an "E24" error message and the machine is not draining. We cleaned out the drains, to no avail. I'm ordering a new dishwasher and not spending another dime on this one.

This is the worst dishwasher you can buy. It does not drain. Soap is left on dishes and in bottom well. Contacted Bosh several times and they say its the soap. When I explained that the soap I am using is the brand that they insist on they told me to contact the soap company or use fabric softner. Not worth the money! Dealing with The Bosh Company really not worth it!!!!!!My new girlfriend moves in and says to me I want a "BOSCH" so I replaced my 24yr old GE which still worked well with this model. We've had it for about a month and we both love it. Dishes come out sparkling clean, even with dried cinnamon on.Its quiet, but you still know its on because there is a digital counter on the front.I highly recommend this product. "UPDATE " Its been 4 months and we still love it. No problems.I actually bought this at a local BEST BUY store. On their website 90+ people reviewed this dishwasher and gave it an average of 4.3 out of 5. Consumer Reports ranks this dishwasher " NO 1 "Tuesday, December 17, 2013
Watts 5YR Premier Filter 5-Year/20,000-Gallon Inline Ice Maker Water Filter

This is my second filter. The first one was purchased around four years ago for the ice and water dispensor on the fridge. We use this quite a bit so we didn't get the full 5 Years but I'm almost certain we used more than 20,000 gallons. The filter removes odors better than any other filters I've tried in the past and improves tastes also. I'm on city water supply thats been treated.
If your tired of changing filters every 3-6 months I urge you to try one of these.I have had this filter in use for approx. 8 months. So far so good. The water tastes great. I bought this unit due primarily to lazyness. My installation is in a tough to reach place and I wanted to avoid changing out the unit every year or so. No complaints so far. The unit has performed well.
Want Watts 5YR Premier Filter 5-Year/20,000-Gallon Inline Ice Maker Water Filter Discount?
We've been buying this filter for many years for our ice maker on the refrigerator. Yes, it says 5 years, but we never expected that and usually replaced it every year. We follow the instructions for running water through it and are used to the shot of black water (from the charcoal) that comes out first. This year, after running more water through it than ever before, we continued to have small particles in the water. These were not air bubbles as they continued to swirl in the water glass. I made a special rig to hook it up directly to an outside hose bib (so we didn't have to use the 'bucket brigade' and ran water through it continuously for 20 minutes. We continued to have the particles. We removed the filter and connected our city water directly to the refrigerator and the particles were gone. We won't be buying this filter again. Amazon was very nice about the return and we will continue to purchase through them.

GE WR17X11618 Filter Assembly and Tube for Refrigerator
Apparently, sometimes the filter assembly can become clogged. Since I couldn't figure out how to unclog it, I replaced it. If anyone knows how to unclog the filter assembly, please post.) In doing so, I tripled my water flow rate!!! The water now flows like when the refrigerator was new. While low water flow can be the result of many things, I had confirmed that the problem was within the filter assembly (and not the filter itself, insufficient water supply, inlet valve, frozen water line in the door or any other part).I couldn't get my water dispenser and ice maker to work. The pump seemed to be running but nothing would come out. I noticed that the water filter would screw in but not lock in place. I bought this item thinking that something had worn down and somehow prevented activation. I turned out to be right. There is a notch inside where you screw in the filter or bypass plug. If this isn't depressed water will not feed the filter. I could obviously see what was broken once I removed the old assembly. Easy install. This has extended the life of my refrigerator.

Electrolux E23CS78HP 36" Counter-Depth Refrigerator with PureAdvantage Filtration Systems and Theat
I purchased Electrolux appliances b/c I was hoping to have reliable appliances for the next decade or so. I purchased the warranty b/c I thought occasionally there can be a problem with an appliance and I did't want to have to worry about it. I did not expect that all the appliances would be broken in some way or other in less than 3 years. I have taken mulitple days off from work in order for the repairs to be made. I have not even called to schedule a repair for the beverage refrigerator because I am too upset with Electrolux as it is to pay $500 for the repair.
I would not recommend Electrolux appliances and I would not purchase these appliances again. Very disappointing! The set looks so nice, I was so excited to have a special kitchen but now I wish I had bought something less expensive/less flashy but more reliable.
