Luma Comfort EC45S Tower Evaporative Cooler with 125 Square Foot Cooling, 250 CFM

Luma Comfort EC45S Tower Evaporative Cooler with 125 Square Foot Cooling, 250 CFMI live in a studio apartment where a 10,000-BTU a/c handles most of the cooling.

Unfortunately, the cold air doesn't quite reach the bathroom, around a corner through an alcove.

So for many years I have had a Slant/Fin Personal Zone Air Cooler perched on the window sill in there (it's a pre-war building with windows in the bathrooms), pointed down at me when I'm, uh, reading...

The S/F finally conked -the motor gave out, and water leaked through the water level indicator window -so I was looking for a compact air cooler to fit in the bathroom. S/F no longer makes air coolers, apparently.

Enter this unusual tower, which looks rather like one might expect Dr. Who's nemesis, a Dalek, to look like if the cyborg slimmed down and became a fashion model... Like a Dalek, this tower rolls around on casters, but it lacks a plunger or exterminator ray!

Goodness, but this Dalek blows a gust of cool air! If you used this just as a tower fan, it seems to blow more air at the highest of three fan speed settings than any tower fan I've ever encountered -strong enough to make a plastic bottle of dental solution wobble on the bathtub rim three or four feet away!

But things get even cooler when you push the Cool button, activating a water pump that moistens a sponge-like wick through which air blows inside the tower. You add water to the reservoir that slides back from the base of the tower; the tower also comes with two ice packs you can chill in your freezer and slide into compartments in the water reservoir, yielding extra cool air for up to four hours, according to the instructions.

Other functions include a timer for automatic shut-off, side-to-side oscillation, a sleep mode that throttles down as the night air cools off while you sleep, and a "natural" mode, which randomly changes fan speed to simulate real breezes.

I am impressed by the manufacturer's attention to detail here. When you push a button, for example, the control lights get brighter, then dim after a few minutes. The tower also comes with a handy remote, duplicating all functions on the top switch panel. And the tower includes a washable air filter to keep the wick from getting gunked up by dust in the air.

One thing I'm not sure about is whether I will need to add some bleach to the water to prevent the fetid smells most coolers and humidifiers give off over time. The instructions don't address this issue. I can't imagine that the wick is treated with a germ-retardant that will continue to work after weeks and months.

In the meantime, however, this tower of power is sure keeping my bathroom cool and comfortable! The tower would probably work in any setting where you are within a fiveor six-foot radius. I should mention as well that the fan is quiet, even at the highest setting.

I will report back if I encounter any problems. Until then, I am impressed by the amount of cooling this tower provides, running on less energy than an incandescent light bulb consumes...

I live in a 1 bedroom apartment in Hollywood CA. I have an in wall ac unit like most people do out here and no A/C in my bedroom. So I decided to try this out.... Well I couldn't be happier. Even with my window closed this fan is strong enough to keep me cool. I usually don't even put water in it but if you want it to be cold get 2 gallons of water put them in the fridge for a day then throw them in this thing. Will make it even colder. I get very hot very very easily and still have no problem with it. Love it!

I purchased this product because my office tends to be around 5 degrees higher than I'm comfortable with. I looked around for a protable air conditioner, but since I did not have a place to vent that was rulled out plus they are really expensive. I read all the reviews and decided to take a chance on this product.

My office is only 150 SF so the room is small, plus there is air-conditioning in my office. I am in the NorthEast so our summers are hot and humid.

The Cooler is definately working and dropping my office tempurature around 5 degrees just enough to make it comfortable. The cooler packs that they provide help keep the water cold and produces a very fine mist (I can feel it sometimes but it does not impact paperwork)

The only reason I did not give the product a full five starts is that it has a small "tinkling" sound when the water is running though it's cooling process. Makes me need to "tinkle" myself.

I don't think this product would work outside in the humidity in the northeast but if you need an office or cubicle that needs a bit of cooling this product works great.

The huge tree that used to shade my house was taken down this Spring. I bought this evaporative cooler to help with the increased heat. Last week we had 3 days of 100 degrees in a row. At 4pm on the third day the house was 76 degrees, which I think is success. The water holding tank is a little difficult to pull out to fill, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Warning though, only good in low humidity climates. I could feel a rise is humidity in the room, which in Colorado is almost welcomed. This unit is good for small areas. I like the sleek non-bulky look. It is quiet enough.

This is by far the worst product I've bought in many years. It's extremely loud and obnoxious. it sounds just like roadwork. This unit destroyed out living room carpet. We woke up to the giant stain in the middle of the room.

So in conclusion: water leakage, horrible sound and not much of the cooling benefit DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Hose End Timer Battery Operated 3/4" FHT x MHT

Hose End Timer Battery Operated 3/4' FHT x MHTI love this product. I hate wasting water, but I really love growing my veggies. With this, I was able to set up once a day watering through my soaker hose for about 30 minutes. This means that me veggies grew very well, but I did not have to waste a lot of water. I love the fact that this timer allows me to set multiple irrigation times, so I could have set up 3 10-minute waterings.

The buttons can be a bit difficult, as they are only slightly raised and a bit close together, but its easy to learn to get around that.

Great tool for gardeners.

I bought three of these last year, and was quite pleased. So I bought two more this spring. One failed right before I got the two new ones. Somehow water got in the electronics. Not sure how, I brought them in during winter, and the o rings were good. Now this week both my other old ones failed with the same problem. Thats over $100 down the drain. Try another brand.

Easy to program, manual start nice feature. Weak ball valve, has a hard time rotating will get stuck on or off with the valve clicking and it drains the rest of the battery power. Mine lasted one summer.

N'FINITY 50 Dual Zone Wine Cellar (Stainless)

N'FINITY 50 Dual Zone Wine CellarWe have now gone through 3 of these units, so far, none work very well. Each one has been so incredibly loud, we have not been able to watch TV in our living room, and the unit is on the other side of a wall and around the corner in our dining room. The units are louder than the outdoor compressor to our air conditioner. All three have also fluctuated in temperature by 10-12 degrees. We are setting it for 55 and its cooling all the way down to 42 degrees and then waiting until its about 57 to kick back in.

After problems with the first one, Wine Enthusiast kept ignoring my requests, kept not returning my calls. Finally I wrote a bad review on their web site. Apparently they have editorial authority of these reviews, as it was never published, but at least someone got back to me. I asked for a refund, and they insisted it was broken and they would replace it. The new one arrived, and it was a damaged unit, broken shelves, etc, clearly refurbished. Again, the same problems. I contacted them again, and it took several tried before they would get back to me. They told me it was broken again, and they would replace it, but could not refund me as it was past 30 days.

Now the third Unit has arrived, and it is also damaged, scratched, dents, etc, and is even louder, and is still cooling much colder than it is supposed to. It's now past the 30 day return policy, which they would not honor to begin with.

Update: I finally filed a dispute with my credit card company and the company agreed to take the unit back, if I agreed to let them keep $100 for shipping. I did it just to cut my losses, at least I got most of my money back and my house is quiet again.

I bought this unit about 15 months ago after reading all of the positive reviews on the Wine Enthusiast web site. After spending over $1000 on a product that should have lasted for years, the unit stopped working just as the warranty expired. Upon investigation, it seems that this unit has history of failing within its first couple of years of service. I have read that people have posted negative reviews on the WE website, warning of the problems with this refrigerator, only to have their reviews deleted. Wine Enthusiast must know that there is a problem with this product and it seems that they don't want their customers to know it. If that is the case it is deceitful and dishonest. Please don't let yourself get taken for $1000. Buy a different wine refrigerator. As an avid wine drinker and consumer of wine and related products, I can say with certainty that I will never buy another product from Wine Enthusiast. There are too many reputable companies out there to waste time and money on this one! Check the reviews on other sites before you purchase!

**About a week after writing this review, the unit magically started working again. It is still working. Go figure!

The PCB died on this about 5 months after the 1-year warranty expired, rendering it completely useless. This means I was effectively "renting" it for around $59/month (not including electricity).

It pains me to give this item even one star; caveat emptor.

First one started heating up and boiled all my wine after about a year and a half. Now the second one (which WE kindly only charged me shipping for to exchange) dropped the red wine area temp down to 32 degrees today (but at least set off an alarm, so once I figured it out I cut the power). It's been maybe 9 months.

Please note: I actually bought the 175 bottle cooler from them. Perhaps that changes things, but given the other reviews I'm seeing, I don't think so.

AquaFresh Replacement Refrigerator Filter for Whirlpool 4396701, 3-Pack

AquaFresh Replacement Refrigerator Filter for Whirlpool 4396701, 3-PackI've always used the same discount filter online retailer for refrigerator filters. I recently received another set of 3 filter, so I installed one of them. Before I could get up off the floor, the new filter blew a seal and started leaking water onto the floor. I tried unscrewing and rescrewing it, but it still leaked. I opened another of the new ones and installed it--it worked fine.

Looking more closely at the new filter that had failed, I saw it had a different label from the old ones that I had always used. Made in China. The old ones were made in the US. Now I'm not so annoyed that the first one failed because I wouldn't have noticed where it was manufactured otherwise. I won't feed Chinese dog food to my dogs. I'm sure not going to trust them to filter the water that I drink.

The old filters are still available online. I've ordered three of them. As soon as they arrive, I'm replacing the filter and trashing the Chinese ones.

Who knows if they really work? How many of us are that concerned with whether our ice cubes or chilled water is that much purer than tap water --how do you wash your salad or fruits? with Perrier? But the reminder that you need to replace these always has my wife and daughter on my case that we'll all die of botulism if I don't replace them immediately. So, with that understood, it's no wonder AquaFresh prices these are 20x what it costs them to make.

GE WR51X10101 Defrost Heater and Bracket Assembly for Refrigerator

GE WR51X10101 Defrost Heater and Bracket Assembly for RefrigeratorI was a little hesitant ordering this knowing that it wasn't a GE-manufactured part. However, it seems to be constructed nearly identically, and the dual-element design (over the original single-element) seems to be more effective during the defrost cycle. I watched a youtube video (search for 'Refrigerator Defrost Heater GE WR51X10101' on youtube) in order to verify my install. It was pretty straightforward, and indeed the dual-element heater fits with no problems in place of the single-element heater. So far, so good. I'll update my review in case of early failure.

Kit had everything needed to retrofit the original single element heater like a glove. Easy to install. The original single element heater failed after five years, the replacement single element also fail in five years, so we going to see if this new dual element design has a longer life than the original equipment. There is a reason why the design has gone from single to dual element.... for longer life.

Priced at $4 is a great deal compared to other suppliers. It is packaged in a GE boxed piece of equipment. The only thing is that the heater is giving off a bit of a 'burning' smell. I'm hoping that this 'smell' goes away after a little time as the heater's coating is 'burned' off...... we'll see.

Great price, better design, complete retrofit kit, easy to install, quick standard shipping time,

Had a GE refrigator for 6 years and doesn't cool at all. Got a mechanics to check, asked for 600 worth of repair. As he is a friend's friend, I paid 100 for the diagnostics, which I found later is a rip off. Then I checked myself and diagnosed that the defrost hearter is the problem. Bought a pair just in case and install like in 15 minutes. Our refrigator is small, so be careful install and don't drop your bolts. After repair, the refrigerator works like new again. And still I have an extra for future repair as I heard those OEM ones last only couple of years.

Samsung RF261BEAEWW 25.5 Cu. Ft. White French Door Refrigerator - Energy StarS

Samsung RF261BEAEWW 25.5 Cu. Ft. White French Door Refrigerator - Energy StarIce maker dumped ice in frozen together clumps within a couple of months after purchase. Called customer service and their solution was to shake the ice tray everytime ice fell. Seriously, do they think I am going to stand there all day waiting for ice to fall and shake the bucket? After several months of trying different things, and paying more than $500 in service visits, it was determined by the last technician that the rear support for the icemaker was broken. It was leaning so water was spilling across the cube dividers and freezing into one clump. The technician said the anchor was a molded piece and could not be replaced. Technician filed an unrepairable ticket with Samsung and said they should replace or refund me for the refrigerator. He warned me that Samsung customer service would give me the run around trying to get me to give up, and he said to be persistent. They put me through their customer service grinder for three weeks and ended up coming back saying it was due to customer abuse. The only way one could possibly break the rear support would be to cral into the freezer compartment and hit it with a hammer. I can assure you I did not do that. Now I have turned to the BBB for help. Take a look at the other Samsung refrigerator reviews on Amazon, and you will see low ratings. Let me tell you that those low ratings are warranted.

Haier HBF05EBSS Draft Beer Dispenser

Haier HBF05EBSS Draft Beer Dispenser
  • Complete American Sankey Tap System that Holds 1/2, 1/4 & Mini Barrel Kegs
  • Adjustable Thermostat
  • Chrome Beer Tower & Guardrail, so you won't fall off
  • Heavy Duty Worktop & Cabinet
  • Decorative Stainless Steel Door with Black Cabinet

It was 'ignaugurated' at a party I hosted, and the 5 gal keg didn't last long! (Of course, it was a good beer...locally brewed Pacific Coast Emerald Ale.)

Be prepared: After it's set up and you've had people over, you're going to be QUITE popular! Expect comments like "I'm going to be over at your place every afternoon." Haier America should realize their best marketing ploy is satisfied customers. I've had it two weeks and Haier may be selling 3 additional units soon.

OK, so what about the product rating, especially in light of all the negative comments provided earlier? Well, here's my take on it:

Set up was fairly simple, if you discount the fact that one part was missing (see below).

Quality seems to be adequate. They use quality parts, e.g., the CO2 regulator and dispensing valve.

It's keeping my second (post party) keg perfectly chilled and pressurized. (Since the first keg only lasted several hours, we can't base much judgement on that.)

It's wonderful to come home to a fresh, draft beer!

Finding a place to refill the CO2 canister can be difficult. Most commercial places will only exchange (take your brand new canister and give you a used, filled canister). I finally found a fire extinguisher service that does refills after making MANY calls.

Does this make it perfect? Hardly.

My experience confirms that Haier America has poor customer service. I purcased the unit a week in advance of a party I was hosting. After getting it home and setting it up, I realized (according to the manual) that it was missing the washer that goes between the CO2 tank and the regulator. I called Haier customer service the following morning and was shocked by how they treated me. The basic tone of their response was "tough luck." I would have to follow their procedures which were: 1) fax or send via US mail my purchase receipt 2) Allow them two business days from their receipt of this to get back to me 3) After doing a 'confirmation' they would send me the washer within two weeks.

I was irate and told them so! I had purchased the unit specifically for my upcoming party and now would not be able to use it! Their reponse: "These are our procedures."

I did two things after this:

1) I located the manufacturer of the CO2 regulator and contacted them about the possibility of getting a washer. They informed me that the regulator was redesigned and did not need a washer. Haier was supposed to include an update with their user manual (they didn't, and customer service obviously wasn't aware of this change).

2) I located information on Haier America and faxed their CEO an scathing letter telling him what I thought about spending $500 for something and not being able to use it at the function I bought it for! Lo and behold, the next day I received a call from their corporate offices saying they would be overnighting me the missing washer. I explained I had learned it wasn't needed, but the woman calling me wasn't taking any chances. She overnighted it to me anyway. Moral of the story: Make your voice heard when you recieve bad service.

Anyway, my 'washerless' set up is now working fine and I'm loving the unit.

Buy Haier HBF05EBSS Draft Beer Dispenser Now

As the other reviewers have stated, the dispenser freezes in the back and does not thaw, nor does the temperature of the dispenser work correctly, mine runs warm even at the highest setting. Although customer service will document your call in Ottawa, their corporate office in New York will not return my call. The three repair numbers customer service gave me did no good as I was also told by one repair person that Haier does not reimburse the repairs and as a result they will not come out to my home. Customer service told me twice that they have recommended to the corporate office to replace my unit, but of the five to six calls I have placed over the past two months, I have not received any calls that any progress or action will be taken. I have been trying to get my dispenser serviced since September.

Read Best Reviews of Haier HBF05EBSS Draft Beer Dispenser Here

Overall, as far as the product goes, I have to say I'm quite happy with the beer dispenser. No problems with the temperature adjustment (but then, I'm not trying to keep my beer at 34 degrees), it pours nicely, the components seem to be high quality aside from the plastic hose clamps for the CO2 line, but those were easy to replace with metal ones at the hardware store.

However, I have to agree with the other reviewers, Haier's customer service is...challenging. My wife bought me the dispenser for Christmas (that's true love). She had it delivered to a neighbor's house so I wouldn't suspect anything. On December 26, I went to retrieve the box and set it up in my basement. Upon opening the unit, I discovered that a significant number of parts were missing LIKE THE ENTIRE CO2 SYSTEM, TAP, AND KEG CONNECTION. Basically I had a $600 mini-fridge. You'd think someone in shipping might notice that the box was 25 pound light, but, whatever.

I called Haier, and they were fairly helpful at first. They told me I should fax a list of the missing parts along with my proof of purchase, which I did. They then told me it would be a couple days to "validate" my claim, a couple days to process the order, and then two weeks for the parts to arrive. I called back every few days to see how things were going, and it was easy to get a real person on the phone each time, but these people weren't able to offer much information.

Apparently, Haier's parts warehouse is located on the dark side of the moon, because it was impossible for customer service to tell me when or how the parts would be shipping. No way to get a tracking number, no way to know if the parts were in stock, nothing. So, I waited patiently for three weeks. When the parts didn't show up, I called back and, surprise, they couldn't tell me what happened. I talked to a supervisor at Haier, and she told me the same thing. She started to resubmit the order, but several parts were now showing up as backordered on her screen, with no ETA available.

At this point, I was done with Haier. I called Amazon and explained my situation, and I said I wanted to get an exchange or a refund. At first, I was told to "contact the manufacturer." When I explained that I'd been doing that for the past month with no luck, they agreed to exchange it, no problem. They also said I wasn't the only one this happened to. Within two days, a replacement was on its way, and I had a tracking number. Thank you, Amazon.

So, I didn't have tap beer for Christmas, or New Year's, or my birthday, but I've got it for the Super Bowl, and it's good.

The place I get my kegs from gave me the right washer so I have not had any problems on that side whatsoever.

This was an impulse buy for me. Sure I did some research then one Saturday I was having a party and went and picked this up at the local Brandsmart. Beer would come out cold, not as cold as I'd like but not too warm. One thing I learned right away, you have to let the keg sit overnight before tapping inside the cooler. I'm new to this, so I did not know the pitfalls of tapping a warm keg. I came on here and read some of the reviews. It was not until about a month later that the temperature issue became a problem. I hesitated but took a previous poster's advice and now the beer is as cold as I like. I recommenc going for a half to 3/4 turn on the screw as opposed to a full one. You dont want the thing to run so much that it burns out. I would find it odd how the cooler would cycle on for about 5 minutes then off for 20. Now its on for 20-30 and off for the same. Nonetheless, my Michelob Light has never tasted better. I have not had to deal with Haier directly and from the looks of it, I hope I wont have to. This unit is a good value. Once you get past the temperature issue, you cant ask for a better deal. Both the tap and faucet are good quality as well as he Co2 tank. I recommend you get a better regulator with the "mickey mouse ears". One to tell you the pressure and the other how much gas is left in the tank. .

Yes I recommend this.

Wish we had read the reviews FIRST. As others have written, in less than one year, it quit cooling properly sometimes not cooling at all. I contacted the company to find out how to get it repaired or replaced; will cost more to package and ship than we paid for it... so essentially, NO WARRANTY. We will be shopping for a more reliable brand!

Read Best Reviews of Emerson FR24SL 8 Bottles Wine Cooler with Thermal Glass Door, Stainless Steel Here

My original review for this wine cooler was right in line with others who stated that it slowly stopped cooling anywhere from six months to a year and was essentially a piece of junk. The review by 7274 on Dec 9, 2010, sheds some light on the problem, namely that the filter at the back of the unit requires periodic cleaning for the unit to work properly. My cooler was still sitting where I left it since I still found it useful for storing wine. I took a look in back and sure enough the filter was caked with dust. I removed it (it pops right out), cleaned it, reinstalled it, then plugged it in to see what would happen. The unit started cooling again, and after 24 hours is holding its temperature setting of 55 degrees.

While I am pleased that it isn't really broken, this strikes me as a troubling design flaw, but I don't expect much from Emerson so it doesn't surprise me. In any case, as the aforementioned reviewer states, the product manual does reference cleaning the filter. Like many if not most people, I didn't bother reading it when I first got the cooler. At the very least this seems like something that should be stamped on the unit with high visibility or included on a separate sheet that stresses the importance of cleaning the filter. Unfortunately Emerson's reputation made its untimely demise appear typical so I didn't bother troubleshooting. I can only wonder how many people spent their $80 and then threw it out when it started acting up. I'm glad I hung onto mine, and hope this review will save someone some unnecessary grief and/or the additional expense of replacing it.

Want Emerson FR24SL 8 Bottles Wine Cooler with Thermal Glass Door, Stainless Steel Discount?

It took less than a year for the cooler's performance to deteriorate where it could not reach the target temperature anymore and it keeps getting worse with time. Avoid it, it just isn't worth the aggravation.

Same experience as the rest of the reviewers here. The unit stopped working right after warranty runs out. Is this a coincidence or does Emerson do this on purpose to save money?

1/2" Compression Hose End Plug Raindrip Replacement .620 OD with 3/4" Cap - Green Ring

1/2' Compression Hose End Plug Raindrip Replacement .620 OD with 3/4' Cap - Green RingI have complained about the Rain Bird 1/2'" hose & fittings because they differ in size from the ones I use from Orbit & DIG. These are .620" OD (outside diameter) and are noted by the green ring and are the about the only ones I have found that fit the Rain Bird hose. There are other fittings that look exactly like these but are .710" OD, marked with a blue ring, and though both are noted as 1/2-inch systems the parts are not interchangeable. Most of these fittings are pretty pricey but if you look at the other sellers you can easily find them for around a buck and buying in quantity does pay off in combined shipping with places like Grady's Online & Irrigation Direct. I purchased a total of 18 pieces (6 couplings, 4 tee's & 8 hose ends) and the total, with shipping, was about 13 bucks. Amazon sells the hose end at about 4 bucks each so you do the math.

These are great fittings and I use them on systems that operate with a pressure reducer at 25PSI so I can't say how effective they would be at higher pressures. The downside is that once on they do not come off and that's why they get 4 stars. I much prefer the Orbit & DIG systems because parts are interchangeable (these will not work on them because they are yet another variation in the 1/2 -inch measurement) and they can easily be removed if you want to add more hose or change an end cap to a tee. I purchased 500' of Rain Bird hose not knowing that I would end up with a 1/2-inch drip line that required special fittings so I have had to buy even more fittings to get the line useable. It's your choice which way you go but don't pay more than a buck for these fittings and since I can't buy them locally I'm glad there's some choice on Amazon. I still prefer the Orbit & Dig because home centers carry parts and they're pretty cheap also. If you remove one of these fittings you will need to use another fitting to use it again... if you want to remove and end cap to extend a line you will need to add a coupling ahead of the end cap to use it again so don't cut them off too close... or you can use a female hose end, remove the cap and screw them together. I have several pretty extensive drip line systems that cover several large gardens, trees, shrubs and flowers so the cost of parts adds up quickly. Bottom line... nice fittings, can't be removed and I think they're somewhat inferior to the Orbit & DIG line of fittings.

GE PSCS3RGXSS Profile 23.3 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Counter Depth Side-By-Side Refrigerator

GE PSCS3RGXSS Profile 23.3 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Counter Depth Side-By-Side RefrigeratorNot only does GE make the most worthless piece of cr@p appliances, they also have the all-time worst customer service.

Have gone through two of these refrigerators. The first one shook and squeaked like crazy every time we opened its door. The repair tech's solution was to "level" the fridge. They "leveled" the fridge over 10 times in 18 months. The first fridge also frequently made a very loud, random clicking noise. The noise could be heard over the TV, movies, etc... It was extraordinarily disturbing, especially when the family is trying to have a quiet dinner or even watch a movie in the living room. After going through hell (about 20-30 hours on the phone and over a dozen useless, failed service calls) GE finally replaced the fridge (only because the developer of our new house forced the local sales rep to replace it; GE customer service basically told us to F-off). And the new fridge makes an even louder clicking sound! WTF?!

Avoid ALL GE products like the plague. They are a worthless company that doesn't give a rat's a55 about customer service and cares even less about taking thousands of your hard-earned dollars in exchange for a useless product that is designed to fail miserably.

General Electric GENERAL ELECTRIC WE4M402 START SWITCH

General Electric GENERAL ELECTRIC WE4M402 START SWITCH
  • THIS GENERAL ELECTRIC WE4M402 START SWITCH WORKS WITH MANY GE, HOTPOINT AND OTHER BRAND DRYERS.
  • NOTE: TERMINAL LOCATIONS MAY BE DIFFERENT ON NEW SWITCH, MATCH UP TERMINAL NUMBERS FROM OLD TO

This was easiest $150 dollars I ever saved. When the dryer started acting up, I went on line with the symtoms and after a couple of pages found a match. Said it was probably the switch so I went to Amazon to see if they had the switch. They did, for less than $10 so I took a chance and bought it. Took five minutes change it and it worked. Saved money and having to coordinate waiting for a serviceman. And to top it off my wife thought I was amazing.

GE appliances score lower than any other "major" brand in Consumer Reports reliability ratings, and now I know why. This switch is exactly what the seller claims it is (the OEM part), but it is a poorly designed part. The two-piece switch case quickly (one month this time) worked itself loose and arced, burning the contacts. Exactly as the previous two switches (from different sellers, trying to avoid a bad batch) did.
