  • Adjustable temperature range: 39 ~ 68°F.Undercounter or Freestanding application.Auto defrost with circulation fan

I did my research online and, in spite of a couple of negative reviews on this product, I chose to purchase it. It arrived in a well-packaged carton when it was supposed to arrive. I unpacked it, followed the directions and got it up and running. Within an hour of plugging it in, the compressor started to rattle badly. I learned that the compressor on this unit is inside a housing unit that's about the size of a cantaloupe. Internally, it is supported by a few springs. The rattling clearly indicates that one of the springs broke.

Next, I contacted the seller. They directed me to the manufacturer. They offered to send me a new unit and asked me to use the packaging material from the new unit to package up the old one. They paid for the return shipping. I got the new unit and sent off the old one. Again, I followed instructions to a tee. Once plugged in, the second one rattled also just like the first. I contacted the manufacturer and told them I wanted to undo everything and just get my money back. Sunpentown, an apparently jack-leg organization, said that they would send me yet a 3rd unit. I told them I didn't want that. I wanted my money back and to be done with this piece of crap. They agreed to take the unit back but said that I must package it up. I explained to them that I did not keep packing materials on hand which would allow me to package a unit of this size and weight. I even offered to take it somewhere to get it professionally package and shipped if they paid for it. They would not pay for the shipping and would not agree to hold me harmless if something happened to the unit during transport.

So... I am stuck with a unit that cools, but that rattles LOUDLY. It's become a game for us here at home. When it starts rattling, my 2 year old daughter wants to stop the rattle the same way she saw Daddy fix the rattle for the first time she comes in the kitchen and kicks the living crap out of it.

I am in the process of designing a website that will elaborate on my experiences. It will be located at . Feel free to check it out. Don't be fooled. I am a real consumer, and this is a real experience. Posted at 11:04pm EST on 3-9-2013.

Good luck.

Stay far, far away from anything manufactured or "serviced" by Sunpentown.

After five months of owning this piece of garbage, it just stopped working. Just went dead, for no apparent reason. Rather than honoring their warranty and sending me a replacement, they made me SEND THE UNIT back to them, at a whopping price of almost $40 in postage. (Looking back, I was a complete fool for falling for this.) Then they alerted me that the unit had arrived "damaged" but out of the goodness of their hearts they were willing to send me a RECONDITIONED unit for $70. How long do you think the reconditioned unit would have lasted if a NEW one lasted only five months?

I'm now on a one-man crusade to make sure nobody else makes the mistake of buying these terrible products. They're garbage and the company that sells them is unethical. They dealt with me in very bad faith. Do yourself a favor and look for something more solid, with better craftsmanship and most importantly, a company that STANDS BY ITS PRODUCTS AND ISN'T DEVOTED TO RIPPING OFF CONSUMERS.

Note: I notice the other awful review here is by someone with the same last name as me. No relation, but brother, as a fellow Thompson, I share your pain of dealing with this Class-Z product and company.

GE PSHS9PGZSS Profile 29.1 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Side-By-Side Refrigerator - Energy Star

GE PSHS9PGZSS Profile 29.1 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Side-By-Side Refrigerator - Energy StarFor all of you who are concerned about the reviews that have mentioned how the shelves keep falling, listen up. The peeps who have complained about the shelves most likely did not install them correctly to begin with (especially the freezer shelves). When I was putting the shelves into my unit, it was easy to see how this could happen. You have to play around with some of the shelves a bit in order to seat them properly. There were a few times that I thought I had it correct, but there was too much wiggle room and it didnt seem right. So, I worked with it a little more and presto! They fit snuggly now. I tested each shelf by pressing down with my hand and adding a good amount of force in order to simulate what a heavily loaded shelf would have to be able to endure. No problems whatsoever. I now have 100% confidence that the shelves will hold. The unit is nice and large. When I transferred my food from my old frig(which was full), it only filled up this new frig about 60%............now that's what I'm talkin about :) . I am rating this a 5 for now even though the shelves were a bit tricky to seat properly (it really only took a few mins though). I am impressed with this unit so far, but will update my review if my rating changes.

If you search on the Internet you will find lots of people, including myself who have purchased these side-by-side GE refrigerator/freezers and have problems with the shelving constantly collapsing and sending your food tumbling out of the unit when you open the door. This is clearly a design flaw. They made the shelves too narrow and they will fall in between the notches that are meant to hold them. AVOID!

I was looking for a new Fridge Made here in the U.S.A. and i bought this one, a great fridge, great design, great quality, sturdy built.

Purchased a GE Side By Side Stainless Steel two years ago and all the metal parts in the freezer section are rusting. It was slight six months ago and is now very obvious where the shelves look dirty, but are in fact rusted. I was a life long GE customer and all my appliances are GE since the house remodel two years ago, including wall ovens, dishwashers and cook-top. We contacted GE customer service and sent details including clear photos of the rust, they emailed that ``because I live in Vermont, which they claim is a humid state, that metal parts in all GE refrigerators will rust`` Hmmm, so GE Refrigerators rust in non-dry humid places throughout the world. So the answer is that if you live in Arizona, Nevada or the Middle East, GE Refrigerators won`t be any problem. Very disappointed in what once was a great American brand. No more GE Appliances for this family.

Purchased this product after Hurricane Ike. The outside walls have bowed out to such an extent that both the refrigerator and freezer shelves fall out. The shelves are not wide enough to span the distance between the rails on the sidewalls. There have been many doucmented cases of the freezer shelves falling as well as those in the fresh food section. GE Tech Support refuese to acknowledge that there is a problem and do not have a vendor solution (wider replacement racks). I discovered a temporary fix by cutting lengths of clear plastic tubing (thicker stuff than in an aquarium and available at Home Depot)to fit the shelf rails, slitting them lengthwise, and slipping them over the rails (had to use two thicknesses of hose).

In the end, the refrigerator keeps cold things cold (and not frozen) and the freezer keeps frozen things frozen (though the circulation is poor with some things more frozen than others). BEWARE you will end up piling all your frozen foods on top of each other like schoolbooks in a locker and you may have tha pitcher of Kool-Ade come tumbling down and out when the fridge shelf lets go. Recommend that you stay far away from these.

  • Electrolux - EW23SS65HB

i bought an entire kitchen full of electrolux appliances, gas stove, microwave (icon) , side by side and dishwasher (also icon)

this may look like a high end side by side, but it really isn't. its very small and while the shelves do slide out, you really cannot fit a lot on them. Freezer is very small, shelving not well thought out, ice maker takes up a huge bulk of room. the ice dispenser literally shoots the ice out and it goes all over the place, water dispenses very slow, no catch/drip plate where the glass goes, so youre always having to wipe it down. upon installation i had to have both the door and the control panel replaced....very disappointing for a brand new appliance and considering the premium price paid.

know also that the stainless steel finish marks easily and is always in need of cleaning...

reviews are not much better for the dishwasher. so far the stove and microwave are up to expectations

This is an exact replacement motor for my Maytag Refrigerator, but note that the plug was not an exact fit. I had to cut the plug and make a wire to wire connection to the harness. No adaptors were provided.

Update: This motor continues to operate well over 30 days after installation. For the record it has a plug that might fit your Maytag... just don't count on it. My refrigerator model is MTB1956GEW.

Danby DAR1102WE 11-Cu.Ft. Designer Mid-Size All Refrigerator, White

Danby DAR1102WE 11-Cu.Ft. Designer Mid-Size All Refrigerator, White
  • 11.0 cu. ft. (311 litres) "All Refrigerator" capacity
  • Automatic defrost; mechanical thermostat
  • Canstor door liner, integrated door shelves and egg compartment
  • Crystal Vegetable Crisper with Glass Cover
  • Tall bottle storage

The Danby is great and it almost the only frig on the planet this size.

We wanted to replace an old frig-freezer in our bar with a frig only (no freezer). The built-in space was just barely enough for the old machine and we wanted something a little smaller. Turns out that every other frig only in our town was either just as big as the old combo or sized for a college dorm room. Amazon's price was within a few dollars of all the other sellers on the net and I trusted them with good reason.

Overall, this product does the job: it is compact, with full glass shelves, great for extra refrigerator space, which is how we and others seem to use it. It doesn't cool as effectively as we would like; we see a big swing in temperatures with no change in contents. Most of the time the temperature is at the very top end of the desired refrigerator cooling range.

We have a garden and will be storage garden vegetables in here. We were looking for a second frig with a small footprint because it needed to go into the corner of our mud room area between the dining room and the garage. There aren't many on the market this size. I only found one other made by Summit and it was $250.00 more. The unit fit perfectly where I wanted it to go. What a great space saver. Inside has more than enough storage and compartments. The design is typical. I can keep 24 quart bottles of my favorite sparkling beverage on the top shelf and my wife puts all the redundant items like half and half, jarred veggies, and all those items you would like to not keep in the main frig that take up all that space. I won't know for sure on the performance of this until the warmer weather gets here. We didn't get it until the beginning of December. So far it has been fine.

We purchased this refrigerator for the purpose of storing drinks for an office meeting room. It works perfectly for the purpose. It's large enough to hold a number of types of soda's, water, etc. It runs quietly and fits in a small area. Perfect for our needs!

We bought this about 4 months ago and have not had a single problem with it. Not too big and not too small. The door compartments are nice for holding milk, the draws are nice and roomy and the shelves can hold more than you might expect.

  • Whirlpool 7GS2SHEXPQ04, Whirlpool ED2DHEXWB, Whirlpool ED2FHAXSB05, Whirlpool ED2FHAXSL05

Although this part was an exact fit & my ice maker works perfectly now, I feel it is a misleading product description. This product was descrbed as Whirlpool brand PN: 8201515. But, the part I received was Supco brand PN: IMM1515.

Prior to buying this, I did a lot of research & almost every review of a generic replacement part said that it was inferior quality & did not last very long. They all said to spend the extra money and get an OEM part. That is what I thought I was doing when buying this part.

Like I said, the part works perfectly for now, as I just installed it today. But it remains to be seen how long it will last. I will try to update in a few months.

It seemed there was a national shortage on this specific part and a few emails back and forth I was forced to wait. And wait. And wait until I sent an email again stating how I was told one thing and got another and was not getting any information. After this I was informed that I was going to get the entire ice maker assembly and not just the parts for a discounted price I was happy. I am a patient person but both my dog's favorite treat is a cube of ice so they were always waiting. In a couple of days I received my ice maker, I installed it despite the vague instructions, and it works like a champ. The care and service in a tough spot is why I will continue to purchase from Amazon and its affiliates.

After shopping around and talking to repair centers, determined this part was a good deal. Works as advertised. Everything installed with ease. Would highly recommend this seller and this product. It's wonderful having ice again!

Samsung Platinum 26 Cu Ft. French Door Refrigerator RF263BEAESP

Samsung Platinum 26 Cu Ft. French Door Refrigerator RF263BEAESP
  • IceMaster Ice Maker In The Refrigerator
  • High Efficiency LED Lighting
  • Twin Cooling Plus System
  • Tall and Wide External Filtered Water and Ice Dispenser
  • Cool Select Pantry with Temperature Control

I purchased my 26X series Samsung French-door refrigerator and also had the good fortune to remember to buy a Lowe's 4-year extended warranty.

Samsung products are junk, plain and simple. Once Korean-made quality products they are now made in China and are garbage. Samsung does not support their products unless you know how to create trouble for them.

Just a month after the Samsung warranty expired the icemaker reservoir did, too. That was repaired under the extended warranty the first, second, and third time. The bottom freezer gasket failed and was replaced. The freezer light switch failed and was replaced. Five days after the technician replaced the entire icemaker system the water dispenser failed. After replacing the main circuit board in back, the front control panel, lines, water switch and water reservoir with no luck the technician declared the refrigerator "unrepairable."

After the icemaker failed for the third time and the lower gasket and switch and the main CB had failed and been replaced I sent an email to Samsung Support from their website. What I got in response was that Samsung considers these types and numbers of failures within less than two years since purchase "Normal wear and tear."

Chatting online the representative apologized but refused to escalate my issues to a higher level ("Not allowed").

I contacted Lowe's Home Office and advised them of my problems and the fact of so many negative reviews in Amazon as well as the Class Action lawsuit against Samsung for selling several models of refrigerators with KNOWN defective compressors. Lowe's promised to look into the matter.

I waited a few days and then did another online chat. This time my claim was routed up the chain and I was assured I would get a call "within 2-3 business days." On the fourth business day I went back on the Chat Line and I got a call several hours later.

Suddenly, Samsung was "very concerned" and was willing to issue me a rebate for the depreciated value of the unit. All I had to do was send them a copy of the original sales receipt and invoices for the repairs. I did that and was told it would be 17-21 business days for my refund.

About a week later I got a call from a TV repair shop asking to set up an appointment to "inspect a Samsung unit." I told him I did not have a Samsung TV and he said he would cancel the call. I found out later that Samsung has no appliance service techs in my area and they then cancelled my claim.

Got that straightened out with the promise of another call to Lowe's Home Office and now I am SUPPOSED to be getting my depreciated rebate soon. The Lowe's Extended Warranty folks confirmed the "unrepairable" status with the technician and they are issuing me a Lowe's gift card for the full purchase price plus tax.

...and the icemaker gave up the ghost for the FIFTH time last night. Rather than try to sell it or give it away I am going to have Lowe's take it away and junk it.

Again, DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT OF ANY KIND.
