Genuine Viking Pa010071 Light/motor Controller Knob

Genuine Viking Pa010071 Light/motor Controller Knob
  • Original Manufacturer's Part
  • Not a Replacement Part

The knob broke that was on my Viking hood. The hood was 12 years old. In looking at the old knob the design was not very good around the area where it met with the dimmer shaft. I ordered two new knobs. Good thing because the style changed slightly. But the price I got them for shipped was considerably less then if I ordered directly through Viking, they wanted $15 to ship them. The design also changed on the knobs where they meet the shaft of the dimmer. So if you have an older Viking hood and you have two knobs you will want to order both unless having two different styled knobs do not bother you.

The part didn't fit, so I basically tossed it in the trash. Waste of time and money. Makes me wonder if part was indeed a "genuine" Viking part.

I really didn't like the hood missing the knob so I paid the price. The part is fine, it may not match your old knob (mine didn't) but it was close. I would have given it 5 stars if the price was about half. But since it is so over priced, they get 3 stars.

Bosch B22CS80SNS 800 21.7 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Counter Depth Side-By-Side Refrigerator - Energy

Bosch B22CS80SNS 800 21.7 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Counter Depth Side-By-Side Refrigerator - Energy StarWe purchased our Bosch refrigerator four years ago at a higher price than the other comparable models of GE or Maytag . It was Bosch's first model out for refrigerators and we purchased it because of the excellent reputation of other appliances. We have had countless problems. We now have no door panel shelves, all are plastic and have broken leaving jars spilling in the floor. Our top drawer which is too deep no longer has glides. Remaining we have only two small drawers and two shelves remaining. The filters for the water dispenser have to be ordered directly from Bosch and are outrageously expensive. I will not purchase another Bosch appliance based on this experience.

Got our first Bosch, and it was great. Quiet and beautiful to look at. But a defect inside allowed the glass shelves to fall off their pegs, just as you put a gallon of milk on it. Bosch came out and condemned the unit. I was impressed. Out comes #2 refrig. Plugged it in and the compressor sounded awful. A metallic rubbing sound inside the compressor. Could hear it across the house. Ice maker did not work. Out came Bosch, who replaced the ice maker but said the compressor was fine. Well the compressor noise has gotten louder, and now the ice maker died again. Also the refrig has a door open alarm feature. Well, my kids left a fruit drawer out a little, which caused the door not to close all the way. I woke up the next morning to a refrigerator that was 50 degrees inside, and no alarm sounded. Out comes Bosch for the third time. He condemns the compressor, ice maker, and a computer board. I contact customer service and demand a new machine, as it is only 2 months old. "Sorry, our warranty says we fix it, so thats what you get" She also refuses to let me talk to anyone higher than her " I am as high as you can get" she says.

I purchased it from Fergusen Enterprises, a wholesaler to the construction market. Jeff at Fergusen in Downers Grove Illinois, stepped in and pressured Bosch to replace the unit. We are currently waiting for Unit #3 to arrive.

Looks beautiful but we've had multiple problems with this model

-plastic shelf just broke off not holding anything too heavy

-shelf top on door shelf won't stay on

-water line freezes to water dispenser if not used for a week or so requiring turning off fridge/emptying freezer

for a day to melt water line for it to work again.

My wife and I have had a Bosch dishwasher for many years and been very happy with it. So when our refrigerator broke, Bosch was first on our list.

Sadly, the refrigerator was a major disappointment. There were problems from the moment it arrived.

First, the freezer door would pop open every time we closed the refrigerator side. There is an alarm to tell you when it is ajar, but the freezer door was open so slightly that the alarm wouldn't go off. Consequently, the freezer frequently frosted over and the food thawed. Then, about three weeks later the water dispenser stopped working.

And about a month later the ice maker stopped making cubes and would only make crushed ice.

Bosch repair men came time after time and each one gave us a different story. Not only could they not fix the problems, but they dented the refrigerator and scratched our floors in the process. One of the repairmen tried to pressure us into signing a receipt to say the problems were fixed, even though they were not.

After months and months of aggravation, the retailer mercifully offered to replace the refrigerator. She recommended the Electrolux Icon.

We LOVE it. Not only is it stunning, it works perfectly. Also, in comparison, I now realize now how cheaply the Bosch was made. The Electrolux doors are heavy and solid. The interior shelves are thick glass and the freezer baskets are substantial chrome. The Electrolux is also much roomier and the space more intelligently engineered. Bottom line: Go with the Electrolux. Save yourself the grief.

Installed 2-1-10. That makes the refrigerator 25 months old. The #3 door shelf has already been replaced twice, once by Sears right after we purchased the unit and again by Bosch. Tonight the #3 shelf broke again resulting in the loss of a brand new, unopened gallon of milk and a gigantic mess all over the hardwood floor. But that's not all. The drawers do not like to close correctly, a defect that the installer from Sears noticed when he initially installed the unit. Not only that, but the ice maker allows ice cubes to fall behind the ice bin resulting in no ice being made and the ice bin eventually runs out of ice and we're left with none.

I bought a Bosch refrigerator because of the excellent quality of their dishwasher, which we have been using for close to 10 years. I will be making a rather unfriendly phone call to Bosch in the morning. I want a Bosch service man out here at my house to confirm that this refrigerator is garbage and I want it replaced at no cost to me, preferably with a different model with a better track record. If Bosch refuses to make good on a very defective product, the next call they receive will be from my attorney. There is no excuse for a product this poorly made to even be on the market.

If you're thinking of buying a Bosch refrigerator, think again. I will not knowingly purchase another Bosch product for my home. Quality has turned to crap.

Wine Enthusiast 18-Bottle Touchscreen Wine Refrigerator (Slimline - 2-Temp)

Wine Enthusiast 18-Bottle Touchscreen Wine Refrigerator
  • Dual Zone for Reds & Whites
  • Silent Cooling Technology
  • Temperature range: 46-66F
  • Touchscreen controls
  • 18 Bottle Capacity

I have another Wine Enthusiast Wine fridge and it is so silent you can't hear it. This one hums so loud you have to turn the TV up in the next room. It's horrible. Don't buy. I'm returning it as soon as I can figure out how to ship it back. I feel like I have the humming tell-tale heart in the other room.

I am aware of the number of negative reviews on this and other brands of the same product so the reading was carefully done and it came down to this one after about three days of examining various remarks on different sites. It's not easy picking one because these wine refrigs come across as sensitive and not really durable or built for longevity. Once I subtracted the extraordinary negative reviews for the different brands, which must come from competitors, and try to estimate how many dumbazzes do not treat the appliance properly during set up, then I got the percentage of reviews I needed to determine who prevailed. Cost, design, and features then completed the selection process.

Wine Enthusiast, according to some, cannot be trusted for customer service or quality. Some of the same reasoning, however, can be found for other brands. So, I chose this one based on the design (tall and slim) so it would fit between a basement bookshelf and table, noise (it is very quiet), attractiveness in a living area (black metal with tempered glass front surrounded by stainless steel trim), and cost for the goods received (18 bottles 750ml each storage for Amazon's price proved highly desirable).

Future buyers caveat: DO NOT do anything with it until you read the small manual included which you will find inside the unit. Too many people do not understand the need for the air temp parameters in the room where it will be located, allowing the unit to reach room temp before plugging it in, keeping it upright for at least 2 hours before plugging it in (I let mine sit overnight just to be sure any lubricants in it settled properly), and positioning it where it will get the best ventilation around the the sides and back. This is not a unit to be built in under a cabinet and you have to keep it away from air conditioners or heat sources. There is a statement in the manual that reads "In order to reach the lowest temperature (lower zone), the best ambient temperature will be around 60-65 F". Mine is in the finished basement area where the temp is typically 66 in the winter and might get to 70 in the summer on very hot days.

When you plug it in you should set the temps desired and wait for the two sections to reach those temps before loading in case there might be some type of malfunction. I left mine overnight because after 3 hours it was still adjusting and it was time for lights out. The next morning the two sections were correctly reading my settings. If you have difficulty remembering, recall that HEAT RISES so the top part should hold the reds and be set warmer and the lower will have your whites which will be 8-10 degrees cooler. The design provides different high and low for each section.

I then loaded the wine bottles that had been in the refrigerator (where the interior temp was 40deg) and both sections of the wine refrig dropped a few degrees. About four hours later the sections were reading back to the settings. Remember that these little starter coolers are not for fine expensive wines but are only to allow you to provide your bottle at the proper drinking temperature when the meal is ready...in addition to freeing up all of your refrigerator space if you like to have 10 to 18 bottles on hand of different varietals.

So, after 48 hours I can tell you that everything is mellow and the first bottle from the Slimline was at just the right temp for the Sunday meal. No more fumbling through a lot of bottles on a fridge shelf, estimating when to take the bottle out and leaving it on the table with the hope that it will be at the right temp when the serving plates are passed around.

If there are electronic problems in the near future, i.e. up to one year, I will return and update. WARNING: I thought I would look into Wine Enthusiast's 2,3 and 5 year extended warranty plans considering the problems that these types of appliances have. When I clicked on each one all three stated that due to "overwhelming demand" the plan was no longer available. Something smells about that notice. How does a company "run out" of extended warranties unless they already know that the consumer bought a lemon? At best, they should not have even offered such a plan on their site if they could not deliver. This was something I was unaware of until after delivery and I had to register the unit with the company.

The "silent" and "ultra quiet" claims from Wine Enthusiast are completely bogus.

I bought one of these to fit in a smallspace in our living room, but can't use it there because the 'silent' fridge is so loud that it would be very distracting when we are watching TV it's that loud.

Now I have it inside a closet (with the closet door closed) over 50 feet away from the living room and yet we can still occasionally hear it.

BTW, I also contacted WineEnthusiast customer support online, and recieved an email from them promissing a response within 2 working days. That was several weeks ago, and despite several follow-up emails to them I got no response at all (and yes, I checked my spam filters). I finally contacted them by phone and asked why I had recieved no response no explanation given, and no apology for being utterly unresponsive.

Silent my foot... don't believe the hype.

I Purchase this refrigerator is real loud . Is louder than my big refrigerator . If i would know I wouldnt purchase it.

I spent far too many hours researching wine fridges before settling on this one. That said, calling it a "fridge" is a bit inaccurate. These "budget" units use fans and some fancy electrical stuff to create the not-so-low temperatures your wines need for proper storage. They use less electricity than a refrigerator, they are very quiet, and they don't get down to freezing temperatures.

Unlike many, however, this cooler DOES get cold enough for proper white wine storage (I have it set to 46 degrees). The dual zone function is awesome (I have my reds at 55). You get nine bottles per zone. It's very attractive, 100% silent (folks saying theirs isn't have defective units and should return), and works great. If you're on the fence, make the leap; this has taken our wine consumption to new levels (quality, not quantity).

My only complaint would be that the wire racks are a bit flimsy and the storage space is very tight, which means you won't be able to fit 18 bottles if you have anything even a little bit oversized (champagne).

Save your time and rely on my research. This is an outstanding product.

UPDATE: Dropped down to 3-stars. After a few weeks of use (no changes in the product's environment), the unit is unable to hold the correct temperature for reds. It's still rocking for my whites, but it's too cold for reds (set to 55, but it won't go above 51). Could be worse, but worth mentioning.

Not sure what the problem is with the fridge the other three reviewers were delivered, but I bought mine on 5/16/11 and it was delivered free of charge on 5/18 (they had a spring special going on on the compact appliance site). I was concerned about the reviews I read here, but I had already bought it, so, I went and bought a fridge thermometer. I put it inside the glass, about half way down the fridge. I plugged it in around 1PM and by 10PM, the temp was about 38 degrees. That seems pretty damned cold to me. So no problems so far. Very well built, very solid, and the glass front with LED light is pretty badass in my man cave.

I will say, and hence the missing fifth star, that the Instructions...um......suck. I needed to change the way the door opened (right to left) and it would have been nice to have some instructions. I eventually figured it out, but it took me about an hour to get the door just right, so it closed with a tight seal.

Additionally, it would help to have some guidance on the initial setup. The manual basically says "plug it in". Im not kidding. It has an "ON" setting and a "1-7" setting. I think you turn it 'ON" and get it cold and then set it to the level you want after that. But there is nothing to tell you if "1" is the coldest or "7" is the coldest. This would take one sentence to explain, and would be helpful.

Lastly, I dont think anyone works at EdgeStar. I called ten times to get some answers and was on hold each time for about 3 minutes and then it said "please leave a message". I finally did but never received a response. I also sent an email with my number and email, and again, no response.

So, if you want a good looking, well built fridge that DOES get cold, and are comfortable that no one is available to address any of your questions, then you can't go wrong with this.

I have had this product for about four days. Only the bottom shelf and the very back of the unit keep beverages cold enough. It will be difficult to get back into the packaging and return. Great concept, poor execution.

Just like the other two reviews. It's nice and quiet, looks great, but barely keeps drinks cool. It's better than nothing, but not a LOT better than nothing. I wish I had bought a mini-fridge in black like I wanted, but the GF said looked "tacky". At least I won that one.... .

Do NOT buy one of these. You will not be happy with it.

As many have stated, this little cooler has issues getting cold enough anywhere other than the back right where the coolant line enters the back plate. Oddly, the designers decided this is where the temperature sensor should go. Because of this bad design, the sensor picks up the temperature at the very coldest part of the unit and so the rest of the unit stays too warm. There is a video on the EdgeStar website instructing owners how to move the sensor away from that spot. It has worked for me and even though the very back items still get colder than the rest, the rest do now get cold...and I don't have to set it at 7 (the maximum) anymore.

So, it was a poor choice by the designers but at least EdgeStar helped some by acknowledging the issue and providing a work-around.

Samsung Platinum 26 Cu Ft. French Door Refrigerator RF263BEAESP

Samsung Platinum 26 Cu Ft. French Door Refrigerator RF263BEAESP
  • IceMaster Ice Maker In The Refrigerator
  • High Efficiency LED Lighting
  • Twin Cooling Plus System
  • Tall and Wide External Filtered Water and Ice Dispenser
  • Cool Select Pantry with Temperature Control

I purchased my 26X series Samsung French-door refrigerator and also had the good fortune to remember to buy a Lowe's 4-year extended warranty.

Samsung products are junk, plain and simple. Once Korean-made quality products they are now made in China and are garbage. Samsung does not support their products unless you know how to create trouble for them.

Just a month after the Samsung warranty expired the icemaker reservoir did, too. That was repaired under the extended warranty the first, second, and third time. The bottom freezer gasket failed and was replaced. The freezer light switch failed and was replaced. Five days after the technician replaced the entire icemaker system the water dispenser failed. After replacing the main circuit board in back, the front control panel, lines, water switch and water reservoir with no luck the technician declared the refrigerator "unrepairable."

After the icemaker failed for the third time and the lower gasket and switch and the main CB had failed and been replaced I sent an email to Samsung Support from their website. What I got in response was that Samsung considers these types and numbers of failures within less than two years since purchase "Normal wear and tear."

Chatting online the representative apologized but refused to escalate my issues to a higher level ("Not allowed").

I contacted Lowe's Home Office and advised them of my problems and the fact of so many negative reviews in Amazon as well as the Class Action lawsuit against Samsung for selling several models of refrigerators with KNOWN defective compressors. Lowe's promised to look into the matter.

I waited a few days and then did another online chat. This time my claim was routed up the chain and I was assured I would get a call "within 2-3 business days." On the fourth business day I went back on the Chat Line and I got a call several hours later.

Suddenly, Samsung was "very concerned" and was willing to issue me a rebate for the depreciated value of the unit. All I had to do was send them a copy of the original sales receipt and invoices for the repairs. I did that and was told it would be 17-21 business days for my refund.

About a week later I got a call from a TV repair shop asking to set up an appointment to "inspect a Samsung unit." I told him I did not have a Samsung TV and he said he would cancel the call. I found out later that Samsung has no appliance service techs in my area and they then cancelled my claim.

Got that straightened out with the promise of another call to Lowe's Home Office and now I am SUPPOSED to be getting my depreciated rebate soon. The Lowe's Extended Warranty folks confirmed the "unrepairable" status with the technician and they are issuing me a Lowe's gift card for the full purchase price plus tax.

...and the icemaker gave up the ghost for the FIFTH time last night. Rather than try to sell it or give it away I am going to have Lowe's take it away and junk it.

Again, DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT OF ANY KIND.
