10 Cu. Ft. Frost Free Refrigerator

10 Cu. Ft. Frost Free Refrigerator
  • 10 cu. ft. (282 litre) capacity
  • Frost free operation
  • 2 adjustable wire refrigerator shelves
  • CanStor beverage dispenser
  • Reversible door hinge for left or right hand opening

I bought one about 18 months ago. It's just the right size for the apartments in my building.

The problem is that now the interior LED light flashes on and sometimes goes completely out.

I can't find anything in the manual about this problem or how to fix it.

I'm greatly disappointed since i have bought other Danby products before and they have been good purchases.

Aviditi 1001 Refrigerator Water Filter

Aviditi 1001AVI Refrigerator Water FilterI had no problems installing it and it's worked perfectly in the last month since I bought it. The water stream is actually better than with the Brita filter we had previously.

water taste real good, was new in the box, easy to replace, no tools needed, just twist and its done.

I was apprehensive given the spotty reviews so far. However, I opted to buy one and give it a try. Works great. It was a bit (15 sec) more difficult to get in because of the tight O-ring but I spent more time (another few seconds) getting the orientation correct (with the tabs on top, lining up with the top fridge receiver slots). Once I pushed up and twisted and heard the swoosh of water filling it up, I knew I was good. Ran about two or three 32 ounce cups of water to clean it out and I was good to go. Checked for leaks later in the day and all was good. Would recommend and definitely buy again.

Bought a pack of 3. 2 out of the 3 did not fit into the opening. The fitting was not round. Return all the filters for a refund.

Want Aviditi 1001 Refrigerator Water Filter Discount?

We purchased a 3 pack to use in the office. Have used two so far and no problems. The Aviditi filter works as good if not better then the GE one that is more money. There is a little carbon once opened but as you should do with any filter run about a half gallon of water through it first. We are happy with them and will buy them again.

GE GTH18CBDRWW

GE GTH18CBDRWW
  • Adjustable Wire Shelves
  • Crisper Drawers
  • Gallon Door Storage
  • Can Storage Door Shelf

This is a basic refrigerator and it basically works.

It was quiet when I bought it but it became VERY noisy after a couple months of use. GE appliances now have a rep now for low quality and expensive parts for repairs. I ignored my own common sense because this was a good deal and was supposed to be quiet.

I would not consider a GE fridge (or other GE appliances) again.

The door handle is prone to staining and difficult to clean too (because of its rough texture).

NOTE: I just had a GE Repair guy check out the noise. He said it sounded like oil or something was in the coolent pipes making a bubbling rapid "farting" (his word) sound. Nothing to be done about it.

ALSO: According to my local dept. of Energy, this model is less efficient than the previous model it replaced (otherwise nearly identical).

Way to go GE. You've sold your legacy for a quick buck.

Buy GE GTH18CBDRWW Now

I bought this refrig at Home Depot because I needed the width and depth and didn't think much else about it.

Glass shelves I like but it is the NOISYEST refrigerator possible. I swear you would think the water is running in my kitchen when it gurgles and comes on and off. VERY LOUD. Also a poor design. On the top front inside the refrig has a bump that lowers the 'ceiling' of the refrig about 2-3 inches so that to get a gallon of milk on the top shelf you have to move the top shelf down to the 3rd rail. I could not find the exact model of mine on amazon but I believe it is a variant of this refrigerator that I am reviewing. My model # is actually: GTH18EBT3RWW

Don't get me wrong, it works but it is LOUD LOUD LOUD

Kitchenaid KUWS24RSBS Architect Series II

Kitchenaid KUWS24RSBS Architect Series IIMy wife and I had Kitchenaid's top under-counter, dual zone wine refrigerator installed in our new home as an option upgrade. What a mistake! At maximum cooling, the coolest the red range gets is 61 degrees F and the coolest the white section gets is 49 degrees F....that's with the unit empty! If you load it with room temperature wines, it takes days to return to 61-62 degrees and low 50's for the white section (versus the commonly-recommended 55 for reds and 45 for whites). The Kitchenaid customer service rep informed us that their acceptable operating ranges are 60 degrees, plus or minus 5 degrees...are you kidding? That puts 65 degrees in their acceptable range...the temperature above which reds can age at an accelerated rate. We're yanking this thing out and installing the Sub Zero model, that we've had in 2 previous homes....more money, but this is definitely a case where you get what you pay for.

Samsung RFG296HDRS 29 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator - Energy Star</nos

Samsung RFG296HDRS 29 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator - Energy Star
  • RFG296HDRS

One week into ownership...

I went into a giant appliance retailer to purchase an advertised RFG297..., and was baited, and switched, to the RFG296 (because I'm not sure I can get that one, there is only one left.) The sales lady was extremely nice, and good at her craft, but did work me over a bit by showing me a unit with a Cool Pantry and skinny ice maker, then handing me literature that said the cool pantry wasn't included in mine (on page 3 in small print.)

All that said... I have a food thermometer in the fridge and it is keeping the temp steady as advertised on the digital display. Seals are good. Water is tasty. Workmanship seems solid. It's cold, quiet, and beautiful.

I have minor complaints that seem fixable by the design engineer's.

1. No egg tray? Come on Samsung, don't you realize Americans keep eggs in the fridge? And no place to put the carton except on the main shelves. The cartons don't fit in the doors. (Hence, provide me a 3x4 egg tray in the door instead.) Easy Fix. (I'll buy 3x4 egg trays when I can find ones under $20.00.)

2. LOUD when the ice falls into the ice maker. Not a big deal as the ice trays are rarely empty, but when they are, it's crashing loud. (The fridge itself is very quiet.)

3. You have to hold your cup under the water dispenser for an extra second or two after you shut it off or water drips out and onto the door. Easy to get used too, annoying that I have to.

4. This is more of a requested feature than a design flaw: Why didn't you design the water dispenser to allow for a pitcher to be left there to fill up unattended?

5. Edited: 6/28/12: The doors don't swing shut easily. I'm sure this can be improved. With many units I've owned, a little push and the door closed on its own. With this one, a little push won't cut it. Again, minor issue, but notable.

Overall, I really like the unit, and as you know, it looks great. I recommend it. I had to buy because I had my old one break down, so I wasn't as careful as I usually am, and therefore got surprised by the missing features. Pay attention to model #'s and features, and I believe you'll be happy with your purchase. I'll update this review if anything changes performance or quality wise.

U-Line 3036WCWCS-00 Wine/Wine Captain

U-Line 3036WCWCS-00 Wine/Wine CaptainWe heard an alarm going off and found the Red side of our undercounter wine frig freezing and with expensive bottles with corks popped and ice-covered. As an engineer, my experience is that hardware is designed to fail in an off-state not an on-state. We are also finding out about some interlock with the shelves not being all the way recessed may be a factor. I will adjust review as we find out more information. This not cheap equipment has just destroyed thousands of dollars in wine.

166219 Compatible Big Clear 4.5" x 10" Whole House Water Filter by Kem Flow

166219 Compatible Big Clear 4.5' x 10' Whole House Water Filter by Kem FlowI like this case because it is large, so you don't have to replace the filter as often. The clear case makes it possible to see the status of your filter without opening it. The included wrench makes filter replacement easy, without damaging the case. Highly recommended.

Vinotemp 88-Bottle Dual-Zone Wine Dispenser and Cooler

Vinotemp 88-Bottle Dual-Zone Wine Dispenser and Cooler
  • Front exhaust allows for built-in installation
  • Dispenses from 4 bottles. Keeps open wine fresh for several weeks through the use of argon or nitrogen gas
  • 14 coated metal shelves, recessed handle and blue LED interior light
  • Two-zone wine cooler stores 34 bottles in the top compartment and 54 in the bottom compartment
  • Safe to use in bottle - stopper and dispenser parts are FDA approved

First, let me express that the below is my opinion based upon my experience with this purchased item. As both an architect and engineer by trade I think I am qualified to pass judgment on a product and determine if it represents a stunning or quality product. Having stated the aforementioned...

I was really excited about getting this wine cooler and dispenser when I first came across it. Given the price I anticipated that it would exude quality. Additionally I expected that somehow that quality would help to justify the price.

Boy was I wrong.

The item is cheaply built and believe it or not... made in China. When I say cheaply built, let me explain... the top of the cooler where the digital readout is located is a flimsy piece of plastic and it doesn't sit horizontally parallel to the door. Rather it is skewed at an angle due to the hinge pin of the door which forces the plastic piece of the faceplate upwards on the right hand size as you face the cooler.

Additionally the interior walls of the cooler are comprised of thin plastic and if you place any pressure on them they will move under the force.

The dispensing element that is built into the cooler is a bit of a joke in that the components that provide this capability could be purchased at any hardware store for about $25. It's just a bunch of tubing that leads to a nitrogen tank that provides pressure via a momentary switch. I was expecting some cool electronics or hi-tech sophistication given the expense of this item.

The sliding shelves are a joke in that they barely pull out and they are all metal like the top of a barbecue grill where they just don't feel particularly sturdy or classy. Unlike other fine quality coolers there is no ball bearing sliders, no wood that fronts the shelves... they are very plain typically like those you would find on a $100 wine fridge from a local home depot or lowes.

The LED lighting is poorly integrated and does not bath the cooler shelves with evenly distributed light.

The doors do not smoothly open and close but rather the top door in particular has to be closed with some force due to it being misaligned by the nature of its construction.

The locking mechanism is a joke in that the lock is not a lock but more of a latch. Although a pentagon shaped key is provided it is not 'keyed' uniquely to the cooler. Rather any device can be used to undo the latch (or lock as they refer to it) that can fit into the keyed area. A butter knife as example, or flat object, can be placed between the door and cabinet and without any force, simply push the latch to an unlocked position. So if you want to feel some level of security with your fine wine... forget about it.

If you look at the purchase price and consider that you could purchase the VinoTemp 4 bottle dispenser (which includes the cooling feature)for under $1000 and additionally a VinoTemp 160 bottle dual temperature cooler that has a much fancier appearance for $1000... Well you do the math... your paying $3000 because they integrated the technologies into a single package... There is no uptick to the quality compared to their other products. Perhaps just the opposite.

Simply put,... I do not consider this wine cooler/dispenser to be any great achievement.

Overall I consider the cooler dispenser to be very cheaply made. I cannot tell you how disappointed and cheated I feel given the selling price for this item.

My best advice to give you is to stay away from this product if your expectation is a quality product.

Way cool unit. All my friends love it too. Great conversation piece. I honestly have found that I am drinking less than I have in the past because the Argon preserves the wine so well I don't feel like I am going to waste wine. Great purchase. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.....

Newair AB-850 84-Can Stainless Steel Beverage Cooler

Newair AB-850 84-Can Stainless Steel Beverage Cooler
  • Compressor cooling system
  • 84 can storage
  • 34-64 degrees F temperature range
  • LED lighting
  • Removable racks

The lack of rubber legs and poorly designed metallic uneven support leggs scratch and dig holes on any surface you will place it on. Otherwise, looks good, and seem to be working fine... I just got it today and I am not going through the hassel of repacking a fridge and shipping it back, so had to go to Walmart to shop for a gel mat purchase to place under this cooler! The manufacturer does not even list a customer service phone number in the manual or online!!! I would not recommend it for that reason alone.... Spend your money on a different brand that will provide you at least a phone number for customer service issues....
