LG Refrigerator Water Filter (ADQ36006101, LT700P), 2-P

LG Refrigerator Water Filter, 2-PThe water and ice from the dispenser was beginning to taste funny. I inserted a new filter and the bad taste disappeared immediately. Easy to install. Sure wish they lasted longer and weren't so expensive.

It is the same as the one provided by the LG Corp. A perfect fit and provides what is says at a lower price than the company (LG).

G.E. PFSS5PYJSS PFSS5PYJSS French Door Refrigerator

G.E. PFSS5PYJSS PFSS5PYJSS French Door Refrigerator
  • Stainless Steel Doors With Top And Bottom Bevels
  • Factory-installed Icemaker With Water Filtration System
  • Adjustable Spillproof Glass Shelves
  • Dimensions (WHD):35 7/8" X 69 5/8" X 35 1/8" In

This model is as close to the one we bought that I can find on Amazon. Ours is a GE Profile PFSS2 with filtered water and built in icemaker. It's stainless steel and matches everything else on this mode. The adjustable shelves are what makes this a great fridge. You decide how much space between shelve both inside and on the doors. So that you can make small condiment shelves and then have lots of room for big bottles. Under on of the shelves is a rack which holds twelve cans of soda, just like the ones in the market; it's angled so they flow forward as you pull each can out. All the shelves are on wheels and pull out, making it easy to find what your looking for.

There are lights placed all around the inside of the fridge so there are no dark spots where the light is blocked by a 2 liter bottle or a casserole dish. The bins are mostly see through so that you can find what you want without having to open them. There's one shelf that splits in half allowing you to put tall bottles on the shelf below without having to shift shelves around.

Only two complaints: 1) the filtered water is great if your right handed but is impossible to use left-handed (just a bunch of right handed bigots)

2) the off-switch for the in freezer ice-maker is located behind the bin that holds the ice and is awkward to get to; don't think they expect you to use it much

All in all we are quite pleased with the visual effect of having most of what you want right at eye level.

Nostalgia Electrics RMO-400RED Retro Series .9 CF Microwave Oven, Red

Nostalgia Electrics RMO-400RED Retro Series .9 CF Microwave Oven, RedI very much wanted to enjoy this microwave due to its appearance. Looked darling in my kitchen! Alas, it does not function past three minutes. That's right. Try to cook a microwave meal in it for more than three minutes and poof it mysteriously shuts itself off and will not start again for several minutes. Trying to fool it by cooking for 2 minutes, followed by another 2 minutes does not work, either.

Perhaps I just got a lemon (it is red, though) and it shuts itself off because it was poorly made. Not going to take a chance with another one, though. I returned it just in the nick of time and will look for a better brand now.

Horrible product. I orginially bought it because I thought it would be super cute in my kitchen and thought, "It's just a microwave of course it's going to work". No. Day one we heated a plate of leftovers and the top of the microwave got so hot you couldn't even touch it. After two minutes it automatically shut down completely. We unplugged it, waited a few minutes and plugged it back in...nothing. Day two, we used it to warm my tea up (2 minutes) and it shut down after a minute into it. Then it never worked again. It's being returned back as we speak.

There is something poorly made about the electronics in this microwave. Looks great, worked great for the first week.

Suddenly (and JUST after I finished breaking down the box it came in, no less) it stopped working. The only function I can actually do is microwave... the four buttons under the dial don't work anymore (clock, express, stop/cancel and power level). So I can still heat food up, but how much do you want to bet that if after a week this thing stops working to this extent... I'm not in for a good run?

I hear amazon returns are easy, here's hoping. But I have no car or anything, and need to get a box to ship somehow. And maybe even need to get somewhere to ship it?

Yeah, in other words, it's hugely disappointing to me that this microwave could not be relied on. I am in for another couple weeks without a nuker.

Update: It worked again when I left it unplugged for a while, in my case, overnight. But I am wary now... it seems there must be something in its electronics that is iffy. So I will say three stars, in that it works great while it works, but I shall be forever unsure whether it will.

And lo: as I probably should have expected, within a day of it working again, it again doesn't work. Don't buy this POS.

Five month Update: I am lazy, so I've found myself not returning it, just using it with only the dial. It works as a microwave, but I can't use any of the button functionality, all I can do is nuke things on standard power for a given time. So, the rating will remain the same, but on the humanitarian side, if you are interested in my plight, I've managed to make it work acceptably. Choose more wisely than I did!

I saw this red and chrome microwave at a store and fell in love, but the box was damaged and it was the last one left. I came home and checked on Amazon and, of course, found it for much less and with free shipping. I bought on Saturday and it arrived on Tuesday morning. That is fantastic! I read a lot of reviews on the other colors, and some complained that it was noisy. It was loud at first, but now after a week it seems fine. I'm not sure if I'm used to it now or if it has settled down. I tend to think it is actually not as loud now. Also, there was a metallic piece of chipboard on the right side of the interior. I was not sure if it was packing material or not, and I popped it out and heated something up and my microwave-safe plate cracked. I put the rectangular piece back in and have not had that problem again. So, only remove the tape on the outside of the door and untie the cables in the back when you are setting up. I wish they made a similar model vented for under the cabinet/above the stove. But this one takes up less precious counter space than my previous GE microwave, and I really like the retro styling. Big Chill is coming out with one for $595, which makes this quite a bargain.

This is a piece of crap! 2 seconds into the 1st cup of coffee warming, severe acrid smell of burned electric motor & noisy as HELL..

I wouldn't trust drinking or eating anything this has heated up. Should have listened to the previous reviews that said the same thing and not the enthusiastic ones.

This is a "retro-vive-polished" turd, but it's still a turd. Can't even find the country of manufacture on the box.

Too bad, they could have done something really cool, instead went for the cheap visual effect.

I know Amazon sells hundreds on thousands of items and can't check them all, but this... So sorry I bought it, sending it back right away...

Maytag UKF7003 PUR PuriClean Cyst-Reducing Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-Pack

Maytag UKF7003 PUR PuriClean Cyst-Reducing Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-PackFew days back I ordered this product; and it was delivered in 3-4days. The installation was super easy with the given instructions. Planning to order the same in few months again!!

The only reason I am not giving 5/5 is due to missing instructions for turning off "Change Filter" light; I found these instructions on some blog. For MayTag refrigerator, the light can be turned off by holding "Light"+"Lock" pads on the door until the "Change Filter" light blinks (approx 4-5 seconds).

My original filter was a UKF7002 and locked with a click when in place. This is the replacement UKF7003 and while it does fit and seems to have no leaks it does not lock in place when inserted.

This water filter changes easier than the oil filter in your car engine. I was afraid that water would spill as I changed the filter. The old filter counter turned without a drop of water spilled. The new filter went in even easier.

This filer seems to work fine. I think I noticed the water had a bit of different taste, but it could very well have been my imagination.

This filter is a bit smaller than the original Maytag filter and smaller than the Brita filter I ordered through amazon.com last year. These were both 1 year filters and I am a bit disappointed that this is rater for 6 months.

I paid about $25.00 for the Brita a year ago and now see it is $38.00. Is there a water filter shortage I am not aware of?

Anyway, look at the Brita MYRF-100 Refrigerator Replacement Filter filter for a few dollars more and rated to last a year.

The filter is great, but the advertisement was misleading. To me and everyone I ask, a pack is more than one.

Gallery FGHC2345LF Refrigerator

Gallery FGHC2345LF RefrigeratorWe bought this because it was the only counter-depth fridge we could find that had crushed ice; if I were to do it again I would forgo the ice crusher and get a different refrigerator...

Pros: Given the fact that it is a shallow depth design, and its ice maker/dispenser is very large, the thing has a surprising storage capacity. It has one shelf in the door big enough to hold a gallon or two of milk. There are three (three!) crispers--if you like crispers this is the fridge for you. The freezer is narrow but well thought out.

The store display and the salesman were both enthusiastic about the fact that you can slide an 18" pizza into this fridge and still close the door, so if you store a lot of large pizzas you should consider this fridge I suppose.

It is a very quiet fridge and judging from the utility bill it seems to be extremely efficient.

Cons: There are a lot. In order of importance:

The ice dispenser is so poorly designed it is almost surreal. It dispenses these moon-shaped cubes, and it will also chew these up and dispense them as crushed ice. Getting ice out of it is quite an adventure: you push your cup against this plastic trigger thing and then ice EXPLODES out of it. It might not do it right away--there might be a pause--maybe even a long pause--you will hear this rumbling noise--then like a cubic yard of ice will BLAST out of the fridge, fill your cup instantaneously, the proceed to dump ice all over the floor.

I am not kidding. The ice eruptions are so violent you eventually develop an involuntary wince whenever you touch the ice dispenser and you have to psych yourself up and take some deep breaths before you put yourself through the ice agony and violence followed by the inevitable sweeping lots of ice up and putting it in the sink.

The water line to the ice maker is a little plastic tube that snakes up along the back of the refrigerator and enters the freezer through a little fitting. The water line is prone to freeze up, which stops the ice maker from working. This seems to be a common problem with these judging from some internet searches. It is not difficult to pull the fridge out, shut the water off, pull the water line out and knock the ice out of it--but many people will not know how to do that and will require a service call to put it right. Very poor design.

The three (three!) crispers take up about 40% of the fridge space. Maybe that's okay with you, maybe not.

All the plastic bits, drawers etc inside the refrigerator are very flimsy. The plastic door over the ice maker was broken when the fridge was installed, apparently done in by the mere strain of being delivered. The drawers are thin plastic, don't slide well, feel cheap. This refrigerator cost a LOT of money, they can't make a decent plastic drawer for it?

All in all I don't think this appliance is worth the money; I suspect there are better values out there. But it will hold a remarkable amount of food for its size and it does seem to be very energy efficient.

I bought one of these about nine months ago from a large home improvement store (not through Amazon). I needed a counter-depth, stainless steel 'fridge, and it fits the bill. It keeps everything at the right temperature. So it basically does its job.

It is not, however, very robust. The shelf supports break easily, and they are not covered by the warranty. While they are inexpensive to buy (I found them on Amazon), they are fiddly to replace, and when replacing them I worried that the interior cladding of the 'fridge would crack. These supports don't hold up to family usage, with more than a few ounces of weight on the shelves. We certainly don't overload the fridge, but the shelves are full.

Recently, one of the cooler drawers cracked when I was trying to pull it open. Best practice: open the drawers with two hands rather than using one hand in the indicated space.

Previous reviewers commented on "exploding ice": I'd point out that the jet of chilled water is positioned differently to most water dispensers... and it takes a bit of practice to avoid water all over the floor.

Definitely not a high-price, high-quality refridgerator. If you have your heart set on a counter-depth, put a little more money into your purchase. You'll be better off.

(I do not understand why all fridges are not designed to be counter-depth. Who wants a monstrosity sticking out into the middle of the kitchen anyway?)

Buy Gallery FGHC2345LF Refrigerator Now

I've spent a portion of my life with this refrigerator. It was a great upgrade for us. Everything is good with this frig with some negatives, but it basically does what you want, and gives you a little extra space if you can accommodate its width.

1) The squeaky drawers were annoying at the outset, but loaded with food, they quit squeaking.

2) The variable temp drawer (fruit/vegetable, i.e. crisper) in the refrigerator is the coldest drawer, and even on warmest setting it freezes vegetables, first by the vent, then throughout. The solution is to leave the drawer cracked open 1/2 an inch. Somehow this doesn't touch the door, and gives enough air exchange to beat the problem. The other solution might be to make this the bread drawer, or something besides fruit.

3) The ice maker does blast ice. It does this variably, though, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the craziness. My last frig made terrible ice when it made any, so this is not a problem for me. It helps to have big mouth cups to catch all the ice.

4) If you care, the stainless front is very "magnetic", so all the junk you had on your old white frig can go right up on this one.

5) I've never experienced a stoppage on icemaking by line freezeup, but the paddle that swings down after making cubes has gotten a cube caught way up near its hinge point, and stopped making ice. This happened to us twice. Happily easily to fix and a rare occurrence.

All that said, we are pleased with this frig after 6 months of ownership. For the money, this is the frig I wanted.

WF293 Aqua Fresh Refrigerator Water Filter

WF293 Aqua Fresh Refrigerator Water FilterI have had a Kenmore refrigerator for the past 6 years and it was getting old paying around $50.00 plus for a {one} new water filter!!! The Direct Parts Store on-line should be charged with one armed robbery! Seneca River Trading is a God sent.... I can buy two Aqua Fresh filters which are built with the same materials as the factory brand for the same price. The Aqua Fresh filter installed within seconds, without a hitch. I bought two of these filters for about the same price as the Whirlpool filters. When it comes to appliance parts don't panic, because a part is made from another country. All of the major appliance companies purchase large amounts of their parts from Asia.... My last GM vehicle I bought the engine was from China, the transmission was from Japan and the body was from Canada.... Lightening shipping, great communicators, ordered early Tuesday morning from New York to Oklahoma in three days. They kept me informed and up to date until it was delivered. I am all about buying quality parts at 50% of the cost of the factory name brand. Besides the water tastes good again... I will absolutely buy from Seneca River Trading again.... Thanks Guys

This product fits well enough, it is a pinch smaller than the original but fits. Everyone in my family has said it caused a weird taste. The taste is a lot like old metal pipes. Some of my family says it tastes like chemicals. I would not buy this again for myself. But the price is decent, possibly worth trying once for yourself if if the taste doesn't bother you, you have a good deal. If the taste does bother you, you're out $20.00 like we were.

Haier RF-2800-13 Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-Pack

Haier RF-2800-13 Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-PackIt is very hard to find this type of water filter and very expensive on other online stores(they also are sold online only), I am very happy with the purchase, the haierRF-2800 is the only compatible water filter for my refrigerator; Amazon has the best price and the shipping free!

This filter works...... but I have to change it every 2-3 months when my refrigerator's warning light comes on. And I am the only user at home. I cannot imagine the cost to replace this filter per year for a household of 3-4. The price needs to come down a bit. I cannot afford this filter so I have to install under-sink filtration system with filter that last 12 months; and still pay far less to replace.

Swift Green Filters SGF-LB60 Refrigerator Water Filter

Swift Green Filters SGF-LB60 Refrigerator Water FilterI recommend Swift Green Filters. I have a high end french door LG refrigerator. The LG filter runs at about $50 at my local store. These filters are not only cheaper, but environmentally friendly and just as easy to install as the OEM. Pay close attention to the model numbers. For example, my LG filter model is 5231JA2006B. The "B" at the end indicated the filtration level. The "A" version also fits the appliance but will not filter out certain contaminants from the water like the "B". The Swift Green model I purchased was the SGF-LB60. Again the "B" here is what will maintain the higher filtration level that the "B" on the OEM filter does.

The Swift Green website will help determine the filter you need. Overall save money and have a Greener filter? Makes sense to me!

*Note that the Swift Green Filters recommend soaking the filter in water for 15 minutes and running about 2-3 gallons of water through the filter before first use. Ensure that when you submerge the filter (I did it in my kitchen sink) that you allow all air to come out of the filter so that the inside of the filter activates. The filter will first want to float but with a little help you will notice it beginning to sink. I started timing once the filter was saturated with water.

It does fit and works as a replacement for the OEM filter, but the measurements are slightly different.

LG: 12 3/16" long, 59.1mm diameter

Swift Green: 12 7/16" long, 51.7mm diameter

So the Swift Green is 1/4" longer and 7.4mm (just over 1/4") narrower than the LG. Due to the smaller diameter it will look like the filter is too small and won't fit properly when you go to put it in. Don't worry, it fits, there will just be some space around the filter due to the smaller diameter. It will also take a few seconds to get the inner portion of the filter to line up properly to lock it into place. Once locked in place, it doesn't move and is just fine.

My refrigerator is the LG LMX21981ST. It is a counter depth model, so it is shallower than normal. It also has the water and ice maker on the door which take up some of the interior room. All of that combines to mean there is very little space between the filter and the ice maker door when the refrigerator door is closed. The extra length of the Swift Green fits, but it sticks out far enough to hit the ice machine door. I only found out because the main refrigerator doors were making a different sound than normal when they closed and I wanted to find out why.

If you're wondering to yourself if your refrigerator is counter depth or not then it probably isn't. I found out when buying mine that even though counter depth units are smaller, because fewer are built and sold they actually cost more. Annoying.

From the box, these are the specifications:

Max operating temp: 38C/100F

Min operating temp: 0.6C/33F

Max working pressure: 689 kPa/100 psi

Min working pressing: 140 kPa/20 psi

Rated capacity: 2,271 litres/600 gallons (LG filter is rated for 300 gallons)

Flow rate: 1.9 lpm/0.5 gpm

Estimated % reduction:

Lead 95%

Cysts 99%

Chlorine taste & odor 95%

Turbidity 95%

Asbestos 95%

Atrazine 95%

Alachlor 95%

Lindane 95%

2,4-D 95%

Mercury 95%

Toxaphene 95%

P-Dichlorobenzene 95%

Benzene 95%

It also says it keeps a healthy level of fluoride in the water from fluoridated municipal tap water.

Last, when you go to replace this filter there will be a bit more water leakage from the filter when you remove it. It doesn't lock water inside the filter to quite the same degree as the LG filter. If you normally use a towel to catch the drips during a filter change, at the very least double up the towel. A paper towel alone won't suffice. If the area is free, you could also use a bowl or cup to catch the water and then just wipe up the remainder after it finishes draining. Would definitely be easier.

If you have a counter depth refrigerator with the ice maker on the door, I recommend sticking with the OEM filter. If not, I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't try this filter.

Buy Swift Green Filters SGF-LB60 Refrigerator Water Filter Now

Product is just as described by manufacture as well as other reviewers. Filter is slightly smaller in diameter than the factory original in my LG refrigerator, but it connects perfectly fine. Not to mention the Swift water filter is a fraction of the price to that of the LG replacement. For the price it was well worth the try. I have been using it for two weeks now and my water taste great and the sediments in my water that I was getting with old over due filter are gone (I have extremely hard water where I live). The only thing I did not understand and there is no explanation from Swift is that it requires you to soak filter in water for 15 minutes prior to installation... Don't know why this has to be done..

Many people say this is not the same size, however if you read the manual you can clearly see why. They use a different manufacturing process which allows them to save on the size of the filter and increasing the life span of the filter by creating a vortex on the inside, the size may seem smaller but it works fine. I've been using mine for 7 months now...no problems. Still going strong.

Whirlpool W10190972A Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice Maker Kit for Whirlpool and KitchenAid

Whirlpool W10190972A Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice Maker Kit for Whirlpool and KitchenAidI bought this to replace original equipment. First one did not work at all. Called Amazon. They gave me a replacement,.. It too failed to operate properly. It came "on" filled the tray half way, then shut off, " never to run again".. Ihad to return it for credit, which Amazon did with no fuss. Not Amazon'' s fault. Whirlpool must have a batch of bad ones. I'm sure they have corrected the problem by now.
