I bought this filter bypass because our water dispenser wasn't working and I assumed we needed a new filter. It turned out it wasn't the filter but a problem with the valve for the ice dispenser. After much research online I found this is a common problem with our GE fridge. As it turns, I'm glad we have the bypass. Our water tastes fine out of the tap.

Expensive piece of plastic that does exactly what is advertised. The fits into the opening for the water filter for specific models of GE refrigerators. I got this because my water dispenser stopped working and a technician suggested that a clogged water filter might be the culprit. It wasn't the water filter. If you don't care if you're drinking unfiltered tap water from your fridge then this will save you from having to continually purchase their filters.

The unit has a nice feature of being able to store white and red wines at your selected temp. The size is very good and was perfect for the area we wanted to place it. It holds the selected temp just fine but if the power is interupted you will need to reset your settings. It does have a few shortcomings... It is much louder than a standard fridge given it's size. The shelves that you must use to remove a bottle don't fit very well at all and they will drop out of their slots while in use. These wood shelves are all very cheaply made. The LED lights inside are all but useless. The door must be opened fully (180 degrees) in order to slide out a shelf to remove the bottle. We have a GE unit in another location that is a much better unit but only has single selected temp. It did cost nearly twice what this unit did.

If/when it dies I will not replace it with this brand or model. It proved to point that you get what you pay for.

We have no beef with Amazon.com in fact they were very accomodating and quick to replace our first Vinotemp wine refrigerator, with a SECOND Vinotemp wine refrigerator (and they Fed Ex'd it at Amazon's cost).

In both instances, the Vinotemp refrig arrived with a big dent in the back of the refrig. We couldn't detect any indentations in the surrounding styrofoam so we concluded it was leaving the VINOTEMP factory like that (nice quality control, Vinotemp!). Also, since we only saw a photo of this product online, we weren't aware of how cheap it looks up close and personal. The fact that both times we received a damaged VINOTEMP was actually a blessing in disguise.

We ended up buying a Haier wine refrigerator for a few dollars less and it holds 15 more bottles and is superior quality. Whew.

P.S. Also at one point during our decision making process, I called Vinotemp directly to ask some product point questions. I spoke to two different representatives and it was obvious that NEITHER one knew what she was talking about. I had an unsettled feeling about that, but we went forward anyways.

Again, damaged VINOTEMP out of the factory (2x) = blessing in disguise!

Thermostat stopped working after 2 months. Refrigerator still cools, but cannot set the temp. and the temp. changes on its own. Also, makes a weird noise now. I finally just unplugged it.

I will now need to buy another brand to replace this one. Don't waste your money on this one.

I loved this product at first. But unfortunately it only worked for 5 months. The company sent me two replacement coolers. None of them worked! Now i am stuck wth this last one because they dont want to replace it again. The controls do not work, the temperature inside is way too low for wine and the temp display went crazy. Now I am using as a wine cabinet UNPLUGGED. Sad... Never again from Vinotemp!

Haier Dishwasher DWL4035MCSS

Stay away from this brand. The first 2 I received did not work, The third one did but things are starting to break. Customer Service is a night mare. I have been trying to get a part under warranty for over a month now and keep on getting the run around. Oh and did I mention this dishwasher is under a year old. My advice is stay away from this brand. My next dishwasher will be a Sears Kenmore as I had in the past. They run for a good 10 years and never had any major problems with them. This is just my experience with this brand and I will never buy this product again.

When I first received this wine cooler it worked great. Loved the layout and the dual controls. But after a couple years in service the compressor went out. Fortunately we had an extended warranty that covered the costs. About 1/2 a year later the cooler was down again. This time the warranty was up and the parts were on backorder. The cooler was down about 45 days before we received the parts (Which were very expensive). That brings us up to now and the cooler is down again, only this time the parts will be 2-3 months. My feeling is that a company is only as good as its service and Avanti gets and F. They do not returns calls. The local repair shop--their "authorized service tech"--is at wits end trying to get the parts for us. Well, after reviewing the cost of the new parts, we finally decided that to repair it again would be too expensive...so it becomes junk!

Shipped promptly and was set up inside the house. The unit has no rollers under it just leveling feet. The compressor and fan are fairly quiet when they come on. Shelves accommodate various size bottles including chardonnay, pinot noir and thick glass bottles. Did not have issues with the fit being so tight that it scraped the labels off. It is rare that I was able to get 10 bottles on a shelf, so capacity was really more like 130 bottles than 160. Overall great unit at a great price. I would recommend it.

The temperature does not remain constant, widely fluctuating as much as 7 degrees within minutes with no atmosphereic temperature change of any significance, and it will not remain at the same temperature range as its 683 counterpart right next to it that I purchased in 2010. Further, I called the Avanti service line to arrange a for a technician to examine the unit under the warranty. The company they contract with in St. Louis is called ServTech and the technician who was supposed to make the service call for them is Ed Springer. I arranged with Ed to come Saturday morning (April 13) at 9:30 A.M. I opened the main front door of the house around 9:10 or 9:15, thus leaving only the windowed storm door closed so he would know I was there, I saw his card stuck in the main door window. So the guy showed up long before 9:30, left his card, and took off. I never heard a knock and never got a call from him to tell me he was there. Wait, it gets worse. I called him 3 times on Saturday, told him that I knew he was there before 9:30, and to please call me back so he could come back and do the job. I never heard from him.

I have had my Danby DWC508BLS in service for about 2.5 months and so far, so good. There is a little noise if you care to listen, but nothing that bothers me. Seems to maintain temperature well. It looks great in my new kitchen. One of my favorite parts is that if you are storing standard sized wine bottles, I have fit as many as 54 into the unit! I am giving this 4 stars only because of short use time so far, and I am stingy on giving 5s. Keep an eye out on price...I had this DELIVERED in November 2012 for under $600 (I recall about $575 including delivery).

I bought the Danby wine cooler Model DWC508BLS on positive reviews that I had read. Those reviews did not match my experience with this cooler. The cooler looks good in pictures but that is about it. Build quality is not what I expected. The location of the door handle is qirky and requires more effort to open...I suppose the manufacturer did this to allow for hinge change so that the door swing can be changed left or right..I would have prefered extra holes to move the handle. The wire racks are made from thin wire and are poorly supported on ridges molded into the thin plastic interior. The bottom rack sits loosely on the cooler floor and is not retained at all ! I would not recommend storing bottles on the bottom wire rack as attempting to pull out the rack to access a bottle will send bottles crashing to the floor! Bottle shapes vary widley, however even following Danby's shelf loading instructions 50 bottle storage isn't realistic..30 to 35 bottles perhaps. Last, this unit generates a LOT of noise. The compressor is about what I expect for a small refrigeration unit, however there is also a noisey internal fan that runs 15 seconds ON, 10 seconds OFF, then repeats.. 24 hr X 7 ! This fan has become even louder in just the few days the unit has been plugged in. My cooler is installed under-counter between two cabinets in a pantry just off the kitchen and I still need to keep the pantry door closed to block the annoying noise of the cycling fan from entering adjacent rooms. I have a call into Danby customer service to determine if this is a defect or is by design..my bet is that it is by design. I'm also checking the return policy. If I'm stuck with this unit I will likely attempt to access the interior fan and unplug it to cut down on the noise. This Danby replaced an older Haier, the Haier was running like a champ so I gave it to my neighbor. Wish I waited before giving away my Haier...I'll be sure to leave this Danby unit behind for the new homeowner that buys my house !!

We are very happy with our new wine cooler. Its the perfect size and stays right at the desired temperature.

Got this to replace an extra dishwasher the previous owners has installed in the kitchen. My father got a stand alone Danny years ago and it works great, so I was familiar with the brand. This model was one of the few I found that for our kitchen's dimensions. So far ( 2 weeks in), its working great. It also looks very high end, with the wood racks and the stainless steel finish. It's actually a lot better than the Viking wine fridge we had in our old house (that one didn't have adjustable temperature control, it was really hard to for the bottles in, and it was probably more expensive!).

One thing to note: this model only allows you to set one temperature (from the photos you might think two, since there are two temps displayed), but that's fine for me since I'm just using it for whites, roses, and champagne.

I strongly recommend this product for any one owning a door in Whirlpool ice maker. All needed and un-needed parts arrived in we'll packaged container with well understood instructions included. Installation per instructions took less than 30 minutes and after a couple hrs. It was making ice and it has continued to make ice with no hang ups after several months of continues service. Purchase of this ice maker from Amazon was only a forth of the cost of a replacement if it where purchased from a Whirlpool parts center. I'm more than pleased with my Amazon purchase and will always go to Amazon as first choose for my needs.
