This unit stopped working after one month.

Evive never responded to my emails sent through Amazon.

finally went on Summits web site and filled out a warranty claim.

it took over a week to get a response and have been told a service person will contact me in an additional 3-5days.

I won't by appliances from Evive again.

My SPR7OS Summit outdoor refrigerator cost me $1200 and last 3.5 years before the freon leaked out and service techs said it would be too costly to find the leak and repair, compressor runs but no cooling. Unit had issues after the second year where it would randomly freeze beer and sodas causing them to explode in the fridge. Check out the other negative feedback on Summitt outdoor refrigerators before buying one... and if you do, buy the extended warranty. Technician said the parts were quality, but the design led to premature failure.

530557 DEFROST TIMER REPAIR PART FOR WHIRLPOOL, AMANA, MAYTAG, KENMORE AND MORE

530557 DEFROST TIMER REPAIR PART FOR WHIRLPOOL, AMANA, MAYTAG, KENMORE AND MOREMy grand daughter went to the freezer and said all the ice cream has melted. So I was going to get rid of the freezer as it was over 30 years old. My son said it has to be something simple. so we checked and found the wiring on the defrost timer had burned up. What happened was the breaker points stuck (welded themself together) and burned the wire off. We installed a new end on the wire and ordered your replacement timer and we are once again having frozen food. Thank you very much.

Danby DPC6012BLS Silhouette Select Built-In Dual Zone Party Center / Wine Cooler

Danby DPC6012BLS Silhouette Select Built-In Dual Zone Party Center / Wine Cooler
  • 12-bottle capacity in wine compartment, plus ice maker
  • 60-can capacity in beverage compartment
  • Dual temperature zones
  • Electronic blue LED thermostat
  • Stainless steel-wrapped French doors, Euro-style handle

It's better looking than the pictures and has cool blue interior lighting. The slide out shelves make it easy to reach items in the back and have stops to prevent them from coming all the way out. Most important, the unit allows me to maintain different temperatures on each side. The beer stays cold and the wine is chilled (very satisfied). Ice maker is good given everything else overdelivered and I have never run out of ice. I am very satisfied so far but it runs a lot and am worried about durability.

I bought this fridge to replace a cheap existing one and was very disappointed with the construction quality. Loose screws on shelves, wouldnt turn on when plugged in which ended up being the mother board wasnt plugged in etc.etc.

Everything turned out OK in the end but this fridge wasnt "plug and play."

Sunpentown IM-150US Undercounter Ice Maker with Stainless Steel Door

Sunpentown IM-150US Undercounter Ice Maker with Stainless Steel Door
  • Stainless steel door with black cabinet
  • For built-in or free standing application
  • Makes up to 12 -Pounds of ice daily
  • Stores up to 6 -Pounds of ice
  • Reversible door

I had this ice machine installed by a licensed plumber. The water line to this machine connects with a cheap plastic nut that came loose after a couple hours of connection. This resulted in a substantial water leak that caused damage to wood floors, along with the ceiling and insulation below. In all, several thousand dollars damage caused by the poor design. The plumber reconnected the water line with a tighter metal nut and the machine still left puddles of water all over the floor.

After about a week with this product I am ready to write this review. Because of reading these reviews on Amazon before ordering, I requested the replacement of the plastic nut for the water valve to a brass compression nut and ferrule from the installer. The water valve is the type that is in my GE side by side fridge. I have not had an issue. As for ice production, I am not getting the full 12lbs. per day. The working environment of the freezer is its in a kitchen with external temperatures of 70-75 degrees and 75 PSI of water pressure. The internal freezer temperature is about 4 degree's Fahrenheit. Under these external and internal perimeters, I get about 6lbs. per day. That is enough to keep up with our ice demands so I am satisfied. Another thing I found out by weighing the ice is that it was dispensing only 3 ounces of ice per tray. The instructions said it should put out 5 ounces per tray so the ice maker cover was removed and adjusted to 5 ounces. The ice maker dispenses 12 cubes per tray. The type of ice maker is a manual ice maker with the bar that rises up and down and not an electronic type. The older analog ice makers that I have had are durable and the one I have in the GE has been going for 15 years. I like this type of ice maker.

I called Sunpentown and the customer service is in the USA and my call was answered right away and questions answered with no accent barriers leading to frustration.

Wish we did a bit more research on this before spending over 300 dollars for an disappointing item that was well below expectations. Item arrived quickly as expected. Amazon does a great job on shipping. Excitedly opened up pacakage to find a squat small machine that was half the height of the counter.

Finally hooked it up after ignoring the confusing user manual. WARNING, the water line connector is flimsy to say the least. It does not connect well under high water pressure. It will come loose. Fortunately the failure happened twice when I was fumbling around with it. Very minor flooding occurred which prompted me to completely seal the connection with silicon and plumbing tape. I called the manufacturer about this part failure and was promptly told that literature clearly caveats that it has to be connected by a professional plumber. Pay another 150 dollars to connect this? I guess I'll live with the risk of flooding the kitchen.

All that being said and after all the effort I would have been willing to live with a unit that managed to produce a reasonable amount of ice. First 3 hours, it produced approximately 20 ice pieces. Ran it over night and by the next morning we got 5 cups of ice! Ran it 24 hours and we got the same disappointing result. It makes ice but at this level of output, getting ice from the store is still cheaper. Guess it is what it is. It's just not for me.

First of all Amazon is the greatest. Returning this item tomorrow. Installed by a licensed master plumber.

After 4 hours it dropped only one tray of cubes. After almost 24 hours just half a load or about 3 lbs of ice.

At this rate it will take four days to fill the container for the 12 lbs as advertised. The temp in the unit

is close to zero so it is cold enough. If this is enough for you this will be a great machine.

For a little more you can buy a refrigerator with a maker in it. If you need an under counter ice machine

for serious use I would recommend forking over the $1200 for a Kitchenaid or Whirlpool.

Thanks from Alabama

The people I work for are ice freaks. From the time they hired me, they began hounding me to arrange for them to be able to make ice in the office, because at that time they were they forced to get their fix by making periodic visits to the cafe on the next block to buy large beverages loaded with ice.

At first, because of our office set-up, it just wasn't possible, but in the winter of 2009 we moved to new offices on campus, and I was able to select a refrigerator with an ice maker for the pantry at our new space. Unfortunately, the ice-making capacity of the refrigerator was not sufficient to meet the demand, and eventually we decided to supplement it with an under-counter dedicated ice maker. The SPT IM-150US seemed as though it would meet our needs. We purchased this in July 2010, and it worked very well for us initially. It began making ice quickly, in sufficient quantities to keep the cold-beverage-lovers happy throughout the day and to provide the hot-yoga-goers with ice for their multiple Camelbaks for after-work classes.

However, after just about a year of service (around the time the warranty ran out what are the odds?) the unit developed serious frosting issues, and leaks. There's a water leak somewhere in the ice-making mechanism that was making icebergs of the cubes that landed in one corner of the bin. For a while we were able to contain this problem by placing a plastic cup under the leak to catch the dripping, but lately the rate of the leak has accelerated to the point where the cup overflows if we don't empty it daily.

Given that the ice maker cost ~$350, it doesn't make a lot of financial sense to get the thing repaired, so we're looking at replacing it after owning it for all of 19 months. I'm writing this review as I mull over whether to just get another SPT 150US (knowing that this will be, for all intents and purposes, a "throwaway" appliance) or shopping around for something that's higher-quality and will meet our needs form-factor-wise. Honestly, I don't feel that this ice maker has been a good value overall. I would only recommend it for someone who knows they're not going to be using it for a long time and who has money to waste.

Vinotemp VT-21TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital Dual-Zone 21-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless

Vinotemp VT-21TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital Dual-Zone 21-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless
  • Freestanding dual-zone digital wine chiller holds up to 21 bottles
  • Thermo-electric cooling system protects wine from unnecessary vibration
  • Ultra-quiet operation; does not use ozone-depleting chemicals
  • Energy-efficient dual-paned glass door; pull-out wood shelves
  • Measures 21-1/2 by 13-1/2 by 32-1/8 inches; 1-year limited warranty

The unit has a nice feature of being able to store white and red wines at your selected temp. The size is very good and was perfect for the area we wanted to place it. It holds the selected temp just fine but if the power is interupted you will need to reset your settings. It does have a few shortcomings... It is much louder than a standard fridge given it's size. The shelves that you must use to remove a bottle don't fit very well at all and they will drop out of their slots while in use. These wood shelves are all very cheaply made. The LED lights inside are all but useless. The door must be opened fully (180 degrees) in order to slide out a shelf to remove the bottle. We have a GE unit in another location that is a much better unit but only has single selected temp. It did cost nearly twice what this unit did.

If/when it dies I will not replace it with this brand or model. It proved to point that you get what you pay for.

We have no beef with Amazon.com in fact they were very accomodating and quick to replace our first Vinotemp wine refrigerator, with a SECOND Vinotemp wine refrigerator (and they Fed Ex'd it at Amazon's cost).

In both instances, the Vinotemp refrig arrived with a big dent in the back of the refrig. We couldn't detect any indentations in the surrounding styrofoam so we concluded it was leaving the VINOTEMP factory like that (nice quality control, Vinotemp!). Also, since we only saw a photo of this product online, we weren't aware of how cheap it looks up close and personal. The fact that both times we received a damaged VINOTEMP was actually a blessing in disguise.

We ended up buying a Haier wine refrigerator for a few dollars less and it holds 15 more bottles and is superior quality. Whew.

P.S. Also at one point during our decision making process, I called Vinotemp directly to ask some product point questions. I spoke to two different representatives and it was obvious that NEITHER one knew what she was talking about. I had an unsettled feeling about that, but we went forward anyways.

Again, damaged VINOTEMP out of the factory (2x) = blessing in disguise!

Thermostat stopped working after 2 months. Refrigerator still cools, but cannot set the temp. and the temp. changes on its own. Also, makes a weird noise now. I finally just unplugged it.

I will now need to buy another brand to replace this one. Don't waste your money on this one.

I loved this product at first. But unfortunately it only worked for 5 months. The company sent me two replacement coolers. None of them worked! Now i am stuck wth this last one because they dont want to replace it again. The controls do not work, the temperature inside is way too low for wine and the temp display went crazy. Now I am using as a wine cabinet UNPLUGGED. Sad... Never again from Vinotemp!

1. The Vinotemp wine cooler arrived damaged.

2. It looks cheap (although I liked the blue lights). Having to open the door all the way is annoying .

3. The wood racks are difficult to slide out.

4. The temperature doesn't stay down when summer comes (now I know why after reading the comment from another reviewer: no compressor)

5. The unit broke down 15 months after I bought it. Repair cost: $400. Forget about it, I'm junking it!

Water Sentinel WSA-1 Replacement Fridge Filter, 3 Pack, Fits Amana Clean 'N Clear Wf40, Wf401

Water Sentinel WSA-1 Replacement Fridge Filter, 3 Pack, Fits Amana Clean 'N Clear Wf40, Wf401
  • Fridge filter to replace Amana Clean 'N Clear

I knew this was a generic, so that didn't bother me. The filters were shipped out quickly and received promptly. The description says these are a match for the Amana 46-9904 filter, which is the one we use in our fridge. However, when we got them, they didn't fit properly and water was spraying everywhere. On the plus side the company gave us no hassle about returning them (except we had to pay shipping back). The company was very responsive and good to work with. So the one star is for the product, not the company.

I purchased these as a replacement for an Amana WF40 filter. This filter WILL fit but it is not easy to install. First of all when you remove the old filter take a look at the top and notice that there are 2 lips that work to hold/tighten the filter into place. Orient the new filters lips in the same way as the old filter when removed. The new filter will require MUCH MORE upward force to catch both lips while installing. Use both hands if you can and force the filter up and turn clockwise simultaneously. If both lips catch, the filter will screw on evenly. If the new filter is going on crooked, STOP, turn it back and try again. It took me 4-5 tries before I could get both lips to catch and get the filter on. I'm a guy with big strong hands and I can see how many folks would not have the patience or the hand strength to install this filter. If you can, it's a great bargain and I will be buying these in the future. I would also note that there is about a 25% reduction in water flow speed with these filters. Not a major issue for me. I flushed the system with 2 gallons before drinking and the taste is now resorted.

These filters are a recent answer to the expense of replacement filters, and they are NOT the answer. My Kenmore takes filter #46-9014, a number clearly marked on the package of the Water Sentinel. And it does not fit. I trued screwing it in for 15 minutes, finally got what I thought was the "sweet spot", and then screwed it in. Upon trying to get water out of the fridge, water sprayed everywhere and did not come out of the spigot. Bad product.

Everyone please note that these are Water Sentinel filters and NOT AMANA as the title suggests. This is very misleading as this is not the Amana brand name replacement as the title implies , but a generic replacement. I did not notice this until I received the product. The picture shows it, but I do not think they should be able to say it in their title and I am going to let Amazon know about this.
