Tresanti Madison Wine Cabinet/Cooler

My husband and I purchased the Tresanti Madison wine cooler for our 14th wedding anniversary. We wanted to wait to review it 6 months later. Well, for the last 6 months we have had nothing but pleasure from owning the Tresanti Wine Cooler! It was delivered in perfect condition, crated, wrapped with styrofoam and another box under the crating. Great job.

The cooler is quiet and keeps the wine at the perfect temperature as it conforms to the room temp (thermoelectric). Not only looks beautiful with the cherry wood cabinet,and the black granite top, but adds to the decor of the room. It does not stick our like a sore thumb, as most "refrigerator looking" wine coolers. This one has class. And thanks to Kula Brothers who offered this to Amazon at a great price!!! $599.00 and free shipping. It was shipped in perfect condition. Thank you shippers! And again to Amazon for offering a beautiful gift we can be proud of.

I wanted a wine cooler that fit the traditional decor of my house rather than the standard sleek, modern designs. This cooler surpassed my expectations. The workmanship is great quality. I've had a lot of positive comments from guests about it being the nicest wine cooler they've seen. I only have two complaints. 1) I can't actually fill all the slots in the cooler since some of my bottles are a bit larger in diameter and the cooler has been designed for economy of space. I end up with one last spot that I can't squeeze anything in to! 2) It's a rather noisy unit. I don't notice it so much during the day when there's a lot of ambient noise, but at night the constant humming can be annoying. I imagine this is the case with most coolers, though. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a good way to store their wine that's aesthetically pleasing as well.

This wine refrigerator is both beautiful and functional. Its quite large standing 52 inches tall, has a beautiful granite top, and the top drawer provides ample storage space for all of my serving hardware (corkscrews, wineglass charms, cork seal cutters, etc.). Inside the drawer is a sliding lid, so it can be extended and utiluzed as a temporary shelf when more counter space than the granite top is required. It keeps my vino at perfect sipping temperature and with a 28-bottle capacity, holds more than enough wine for a large party of folks. I actually saw this same cooler at BJ's a few years back for $200 less. Wish I'd bought it then! Still, I highly recommend this wine cooler!

My SPR7OS Summit outdoor refrigerator cost me $1200 and last 3.5 years before the freon leaked out and service techs said it would be too costly to find the leak and repair, compressor runs but no cooling. Unit had issues after the second year where it would randomly freeze beer and sodas causing them to explode in the fridge. Check out the other negative feedback on Summitt outdoor refrigerators before buying one... and if you do, buy the extended warranty. Technician said the parts were quality, but the design led to premature failure.

Supco Replacement for UKF8001 Refrigerator Filter, 2-Pack

I pruchased the Aquafreah WF295 to replace a UKF8001, it did not fit. It seems that the center hole in the filter is not deep enough, I tried several times, and even removed the rubber washer in the bottom of the hole, it still would not seat properly. After several attempts, and a lot of water in my frige, I gave up. I called the manufacturer, tech service said it was a direct replcement, but if it still doesn't fit, take it back to the distributor, and the distributer states to call the manufacturer.

Installed 2 days ago and we're still tasting plastic/metallic water. I guess I should have known when I saw the comparable price to known US brands that this was just one more Chinese piece of crap product. Amazon should "man up" and place a country of manufacture on EVERY product so we can make an informed decision. Wouldn't surprise me if the lead they took out of baby toys over the past 2-3 years is in these filters. Save your money and your taste buds. BTW: I've owned my refrigerator for 5 years and NEVER had an issue with Pure Clean II, so don't tell me to "flush the system" (which I have subsequently done).

GE WR02X11705 Cap Filter Bypass for Refrigerator

After seeing that the replacement filter for my refrigerator was about $46 at the home improvement stores (closer to $33 on Amazon), and reading all about how little difference the filter actually made, I decided to spend the $13 on this, and I'm glad that I did. It's a factory GE part, fit perfectly, and did exactly what it was supposed to. My water now comes out with good speed, as it was intended, and the ice maker is back to working efficiently. If the water coming into your house is of decent quality, save yourself hundreds of dollars over the life of the refrigerator and pick this thing up. You'll be glad you did. :)

This is exactly what we were looking for, just didn't know if it existed! We have well water so we don't really need a filter, but had to buy them or we couldn't get ice or water through our fridge. Filters are so expensive, and have to be replaced too often. This filter bypass plug works just fine, and our water tastes great!

Door Bin cracked after less than three weeks of use. Used Door Bin to store usual refrigerator items, milk, and juice containers. I don't plan on purchasing this product from this merchant again.

These shelves fit well. They have a bit of "give" to them. That may be a good thing. Might not be as brittle as the originals. Time will tell. Price was about 35% less than on the Whirlpool website. Service was great.

The fridge arrived with several large dents as other reviewers have mentioned they only include 1/4 inch of Styrofoam for packaging. It also would not turn on... upon further inspection I could see the internal AC hot and common connections were disconnected so I opened it up and plugged those back in.

I put a remote temperature sensor in the fridge and let it cool to 32 degrees (cold as it will get on high) then put a 20 oz pop bottle in that was full of 80F degree water. It took 3 hours to cool to below 40 degrees and it actually warmed the air temp of the fridge up to 42 at one point. If you put a lot of room temp stuff in there I imagine it would take at least 24 hours to cool it all.

Pros:

-Lightweight (really easy to move it only weighs like 23 pounds)

-Efficient (pulls less than 100 watts and keeps stuff cold)

-AD/DC modes is nice

-No moving parts except for heatsink fan and coldsink fan.

-Lots of space, due to the lightweight frame/insulation and lack of compressor what you see is practically what you get.

Cons:

-Lightweight (don't drop it or you'll definitely add to the dents from shipping, also the insulation can't be that great at that thickness)

-Not very powerful, it will take quite a while to cool things down and cannot handle high air temps or direct sunlight.

-As other reviewers have mentioned you can count on it being damaged in shipping. Ours arrived with one of the back corners crushed and a couple good sized dents in the rear panel. It also had apparently jostled loose the internal AC connections.

-Made in china, and it feels like it too.

Summary: It works pretty well for its intended purpose and although it feels cheap and likely to breakdown luckily there really isn't that much that is likely to break since there is no compressor and the only moving parts are two small fans. If you can't accept cosmetic damage from shipping definitely don't bother. I intend to run it on DC to store products at a farmers market, I'll update the review if it craps out on me.

Update 7/6/2011: It's starting to get rather warm here in southern Idaho and the fridge has a hard time keeping up with air temperatures at/over 80s. As expected you certainly have to be careful to keep it out of direct sunlight or it'll turn into an easy bake oven. Somewhat disappointing because I intended to use it outdoors but if you're using it somewhere that is shaded and climate controlled you'll be fine.

I have used this fridge once in my new custom goat trailer with living quarters. Worked very well on DC power in the trailer and AC in the house for a test run. My only complaint is that the product was dented when shipped. We determined the dents would not effect operation and therefore not worth sending back to manufacturer. The unit runs fine, just the housing was dinged.

I bought this refrigerator with the Idea I would use it in a grid collapse for my insulin. I have solar panels and big batteries. If you are looking for a refrigerator for your insulin, don't buy this one it will quit on you, then you can wait two days and it will start working again after you unplugged it. It is a good party refrigerator used intermittently but it is not reliable temperature control. Buy a small unit with a compressor instead of this for medication temperature control.

Just received our Avanti fridge for one of our truck drivers. Like everyone said, it came with some dented corners and beat up box but it seems to work fine in the house on an A/C test run. For the price, seems like a great little fridge. We'll see how it holds up to the highway miles.

after reading the online info, I was excited to give this fridge a go in my small RV. It arrived with no dents or dings from shipping and looked great. Plugged it into the wall and worked great to cool off for a few days before moving it to the RV. When I tried to run it off DC, I got nothing. No power. I tried it with several different vehicles/batteries, but no power (despite reading power through the cord with a volt-meter). Called Avanti and they sent me a replacement fridge quickly--cool! Unfortunately the new one wouldn't run on DC either. I called Avanti again. They send out a new cord. Success! It worked for about a week before dying...no DC again. I'm in the middle of a refund request with amazon's seller.

I think that this is a great fridge for those who want to run it on AC power. Maybe I just had bad luck with DC, but it seems odd that 2 units and 3 cords have all failed now (under 4 months from my original purchase). Even during the week it worked on DC, it drew 7 amps regularly, and ran for most of the day, which is a lot for most RV batteries. I'm not impressed for RV use.

This was a breeze to install, took me 45 minutes tops.

It was obvious that this unit was designed for more than just 1 application, I wound up with a spare fill solenoid (2 were provided) along with associated tubing, brackets, etc.

The instructions were somewhat vague, but anyone with some mechanical knowledge will be able to figure out installation easily.

It makes ice, and plenty of it, enough said...

What can you say about an ice maker it works. it came with extra parts. I guess it is for a variety of make and model refrigerators so they include extra stuff. nit to hard to install the refrigerator was ice maker ready so no drilling cutting or measuring.

Bought one of these and installed it in July and by November it stopped cooling. They sent a repairman who told me there were multiple leaks and the refrigerant had leaked out. Depending on the parts needed, they could take up to 3 months to come in--maybe longer. Its junk, don't waste your money.

Finally, we have the perfect refrigerator for our small household. We suffered through several years of refrigerators with small freezer drawers within the body of the fridge: the fridge never seemed to stay cold enough (warm milk!) and the freezer drawer was constantly choked with ice, and the power bill was strangely high. But having decided to buy a bigger fridge, we could not find one locally--they were either for dorms, or for large families. I was a bit nervous about ordering a major appliance through Amazon.

The Danby refrigerator, 9.2-cu-ft capacity, is plenty large for two people, is Energy Star-compliant (and down went the electric bill). The freezer is plenty big enough for our bags of frozen veggies and fruits. The LED light takes a bit of getting used to, but we like it--it doesn't blind you when you open the door in a darkened kitchen. It's easy to keep clean. The recessed door handles don't catch sleeves.

The only caveat is that when the shippers dropped off the refrigerator, they dropped it off at the sidewalk. That's as far as they take it. One of my lovely neighbors came over with a beefy handtruck and sheet of plywood and helped us haul it up the front steps and into the kitchen. If you live in an upstairs apartment or other home without easy curb access, be prepared. Otherwise, the whole thing went off without a hitch, and I have since recommended to people here in town that they buy off Amazon for the better selection.

We live in a very small space. It is so great to have the refrigerator only take up the space we need for our food. We shop once a week and have enough space for all of our purchases. It is great. (It does not have a light in the freezer.) We shopped all over, it is the only thing like it on the market. We are tall and love the freezer on the bottom. (We do not use the soda can storage, would rather have more shelf.)
