Image® Mini Desktop Fridge Cooler Personal Fridge(Black,Plug and Play)

ImageĀ® Mini Desktop Fridge Cooler Personal Fridge(Black,Plug and Play)I am very impressed with this Mini Desktop Fridge Cooler. I am a diabetic and I LOVE to travel.

I take insulin. My spare units of insulin need to be kept cool. This is sometimes difficult while

traveling as long hours in a car and hotels without fridge units in the rooms make keeping the

insulin cool a problem. Now it is not a problem!! The unit can use the charger I use on my phone

in the car and in the room. Thank you for a great product!!

You need a 'powered' USB hub which has a power cord, otherwise the hub is powered by the computer through the USB cable. Don't jilt the effectiveness of the refrigerator because it is working perfectly. The problem lies with the type of hub you have.

Buy Image® Mini Desktop Fridge Cooler Personal Fridge(Black,Plug and Play) Now

The product works pretty much as advertised IF you connect it to a computer USB port. If you connect it to a USB hub it barely gets cold.

I didn't want to run the computer all the time just to keep the drink cold so I was hoping to run it off a hub. There is a little note in the package that says it may not run correctly off a hub but no mention of it in the advertising. I think it has something to do with the fact that hubs are only spec'd to provide 100 milli Watts per USB connection and computer USB connections are supposed to provide 500 milli Watts. I still hope to get it to work from a hub...they take practically no power while a computer uses at least 100 watts.

Amazon should mention this discrepancy in their product information.

Did you see the other USB fridge clones that Amazon has listed? I can't remember why I chose this one, but since I did, I will tell you what I think about it. This review may or may not apply to the others. But for this version, it should be accurate.

First, like it has been said, it's not exactly a fridge. It's a hot plate with a bonus cooling fan that you can set a can-sized container on, with the surrounding box keeping some of the warmth/cool inside. I say some because the box is only about a 3/32-inch thick in most places, with no insulation of any kind. Containers with flat bottoms are recommended to reach and keep a desirable temperature. There is a magnetic seal on the door, but a latch would've been better. It does not support the weight of a unopened can, much less one that would be half full, so be careful of any unwanted drink port-a-potty tipping.

Yes, it actually warms up things, too. This listing is like the versions without the rocker switch on the cord. Dig a little and you will find this exact model design listed as a cooler/warmer. This was likely a slip-up, but I wish to imagine it as a designer's revenge for the last minute inclusion of an executive's need for it to "reverse cool, or make it so cold that it's hot, like frostbite" and the exclusion of a proper latch.

Here's the rocker switch layout (unexplained in the instructions):

| = Hot = red LED inside It might not be broken. It might just be flipped to the wrong side.

O = Off = off LED inside

|| = Cool = green LED inside This is likely the side of the switch that you want.

About the design: it's simple. Supposedly fragile (don't wish to stress test), but has some limited feel of integrity to it. Fan and plate rests in the bottom of the unit, inside the door, measuring just under 2 inches. Makes a slight whirring noise when cooling, but nothing while heating. The rest of the unit is roughly 5 and a half inches of soda space. Outside, there's some dated fridge design, complete with spite latch. Be careful: it might make your other devices, and even your choice of soda, seem needlessly extravagant.

Weight: small amount of heft at the bottom when empty. With a can inside, it feels like it has a can inside. Hey, who put this can inside my USB fridge?

System specs needed: A PC/Mac + 100 megabytes of storage space + 32 megabytes of RAM for this plug and play device... but all you really need is a USB port that utilizes some power source. For the sake of fun, I hooked it up for a solar-powered battery backup meant for charging portable devices, and it still worked.

---

If you have the extra money to spend on USB fridges, you could get this if you want one. Contrary to the negative portions of the above block of text I made, it's actually a decent device. I wanted something to cool down a drink, out of sheer impulsiveness. And I feel satisfied. You would be, too.

---

A silly thought: Honestly, I thought they couldn't afford to put a latch in. I was amazed when I found out that it had a magnet. This might sound dumb, but it's like they outdid themselves. It's somehow an awesome feature. I was expecting no seal whatsoever, and then magically, it's sealing. How? A magnet. WOW. Are you still taking me seriously after this? Gosh, I hope so. I don't know if I can.

Want Image® Mini Desktop Fridge Cooler Personal Fridge(Black,Plug and Play) Discount?

This thing cools the bottom of the cans really well. Basically the fridge is a cold plate in a box. No circulation despite the cooling mechanism having a fan. You'd be better off to pass on this.

PackIt 2 Bottle Wine Cooler, Black

PackIt 2 Bottle Wine Cooler, BlackI bought this in anticipation of a concert at a popular outdoor venue near my house. Popped it in the freezer when it arrived. This was at least 1 week ahead of time! On the day of the concert, I put 2 CHILLED bottles of wine into the Packit. Less than 2 hours later we uncorked a cool bottle of wine. The 2nd bottle remained in the cooler for another 1.5 to 2 hours. This bottle was barely cool. The Packit barely kept the cool for 4 hours. That's a long way from the 10 hours promised! A huge let down!

I use this every week when taking the family on a picnic to the park. Its a bigger size and has removable insert so it fits a lot of food and doesnt have to be used with wine bottles. Keeps the fruit and yogurt cool for hours, even when it's 90 degrees outside!

Buy PackIt 2 Bottle Wine Cooler, Black Now

Bought this for my wife for one of her gal pal fun days. They're always talking about how they're going to transport their bottles of wine and keep em cold. After using this they all came back excited because it worked so well. Problem solved... no more warm wine at the beach!

LG WT5001CW 4.5 cu. Ft. Top Load Washer - White

LG WT5001CW 4.5 cu. Ft. Top Load Washer - WhiteI'm very impressed with this washer.

I previously owned a sears kenmore was a nice machine, it lasted 10 years before the electonics in it burnt up. It too was an aggitatorless model, high efficency type. Ten years ago this was one of the first of this type.

So when shopping for a new model I wanted to stick with a top load, aggitatorless, high efficency type. I was very impressed with a LG Blu-ray player I had bought, so keeping those features and the LG brand in mind I looked at thier models first.

This model had the features I wanted so I didn't even consider any other brands.

Installation was easy since I previously had hookups all in place. I didn't read much of the book. The quick install sheet mentions leveling and it was easy to see it was level. All you have to do is make sure the tub lines up with the opening. After hooking up the hoses and putting the drain hose in the drain tube, checking for levelness you're ready to go.

Before putting it in its final position close to the wall, I did one load of laundry to be sure there were no leaks from any hose or the drain. Then I moved it into it's final spot.

I gave it a good workout as I had four weeks of dirty clothing piled up, plus bed sheets and a new quilt I wanted to wash before first use. It was easy to figure out what buttons to push and get going. I only looked at the book to see what a red light was and that turned out to be the lid locked indicator. I did the first load normal and then some of the remaining loads using the cold wash only. The large capacity I might have been able to do fewer loads but I didn't want to overload it and wanted to test it out good first time around. All came out, as best I can tell perfect.

If you want to know about all the features, I suggest you check out the LG Website.

It's easy to get going.

Open lid

Pull out the slide out softener-detergent try and add those as needed

Push tray back in

Add bleach to a seperate spot if used

Add dirty clothing

Close Lid

Press On

Rotate dial to one of eleven load types (normal, colors, whites bedding/bulky, etc).

Push Cold Wash button

Push Fabric Softener button

Push Start

First it does laod sensing. I guess this determines how heavy the load is so it can adjust how much water to use.

It even locks the lid while in operation.

The lid is glass so you can watch your clothing spin around or it spray water on them.

There's a bunch of other buttons to modiy water temp, soil level and custom settings. But it is basically really simple and quick to get going.

The tub will lower during washing, so it won't hit the inside of the top area while spinning. It raises back up when finihsed.

A nice digital display tells you how much time is left and a set of lights tell you what cycle it is on.

At the end it plays a nice little happy tune, instead of that usual beep-beep-beep.

Features I liked or we're impressed with:

The the dial. It gives it an old time feel. Somehow just pushing buttons doesn't always seem right. The knob gives you tacticle feeling but instead of a rotating needle, it has lights that go on or off as you rotate past each setting.

The location of the detergent/softener try seems to be well placed, i think too it runs water through this so it gets all the detergent and softener out and keeps it clean.

Being able to see it work on the inside.

Cute music at end.

Without the aggitator this gives you room for large items. I enjoyed this on my other washer. Washing quilts or blankets is easy and it does a good job on this too.

It is mostly very quiet. With the direct drive motor I guess because of less moving parts. It will whine some during the final spin cycle especially when it slows down, but for the most part I could not hear much when it was running and my wash closet is in the master bathroom, so its not far away. I didn't hear any of that thump-thump you sometimes get even when doing a bulky item or large load. Even the last spin cycle the outside of the machine doesn't shake that much.

Plenty of tub space to wash bulky items.

Drawbacks

Hadn't found any yet really. I'm sure the glass is heavy duty and won't break easily, it might scratch. I live at the beach and sand gets on everything. This will scratch glass easily if you put something down on top of the glass and a grit is between the two. But being able to see the machine at work is worth that.

One final note:

I'm not sure what burnt up my old washers' electronics. It might have been old age or it might have been a power surge or lightening. I'm guess i'm lucky I got ten years out of it. So for this one I bought a twenty buck surge supressor to put on the wall socket and plugged the washer into to it. With everything now having a lot of electronics in it and it being a high ticket item, i think a little extra protection won't hurt.

My wife and I had recently bought the LG WT5001CW, and I can honestly sit here and tell you that it is all that and a bag of chips! I read all of the reviews till I was blue in the face. I got on the Lowes site which I found contained fabricated reviews which was a real bummer. They used the same phrases over and over again but in different order.

Anyhoo, after listening to a bunch of HE nightmares and doing bookoo research and a few retarded salesmen later... Apparently there is no such thing as a good side loading HE washing machine. They all let off a mildew odor or do not wash good enough. Look at all the sites, Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy, ABC Warehouse, Amazon, all the sideloading washing machines don't get any better than 3 stars max! So the decision was for a top loader. Now what brand do you get? Back to the reviews and that retarded salesmen!

According to the reviews on those websites I mentioned, Maytag & Whirlpool ranked down at the bottom of the gene pool. Whirlpool kind of shocked me because that was always one of my fav's. I went to Lowes and talked to thier appliance salesmen who just returned from a Whirlpool seminar and now believes that he is infoulable by god. He informed me that Whirlpool sideloader was the most perfect machine on earth and nothing else compares. When I ask why, it was because he came from a seminar. Wrong answer!

So I looked at Amazon & Best Buy and I noticed the LG and looked into it. Amazon only had about 4 or 5 reviews at the moment but they averaged 5 stars and Best Buy had 29 reviews averaging 4.5 stars which isn't to shabby. We are not wealthy so I need bang for my buck! what can I say? Now the price on Amazon looked pretty appealing but the $150.00 for shipping didn't! This is where Home Depot comes in.

I went to Home Depot who not only matched Best Buy's sale ad but also took off an additional 10% plus free delivery. In the end I picked up in the upper 7's and no shipping fee which was about 200 plus cheaper than I was expecting worse case.

As for performance, well I read the 2 star review with the guy complaining about scratches. Who gives a turkey?!?! A scratched machine will wash your clothes just as well! Anyhoo, I am a maintenance man in a press shop. Everyday I get covered head to toe in grease and oil and all kinds of nasty! This machine cleans just as well if not better than my old Whirlpool and it uses almost half the water! Any HE Machine that can clean my uniform like that is good in my book!

This thing weighs your clothes and adds water in accordance to the weight. Then it automatically flushes water through the detergent tray. After that it dances around for a minute, I think its doing the twist! Then it spins one way and then the other the whole while it is recirculating the existing water that it originally started with. I found it so entertaining at first I had to ditch my big screen for the washing machine! And the dam thing has a window, so you gotta watch.

But I do have to add that if you have the old style washing machine, you basically have to throw out everything you know about washing the laundry and relearn how to do it in HE. Follow the instructions and there will be no problems! All I can say is, ya gotta try this thing, you'll love it!

Buy LG WT5001CW 4.5 cu. Ft. Top Load Washer - White Now

What kind (front or top load) and what brand of washer to buy? After spending about $5,500 on two top loaders (GE and LG) and two front loaders ( Frigidaire and Samsung) over the last six years, I believe I am qualified to make some assertions. The tests that Consumer Reports does on washers are nothing more than pre-arranged outcome studies, designed to push sales of Department of Energy approved washers. This is not entirely bad, as everyone wants to save money and help the environment. In fairness, Consumer Reports does a valuable service, but for some products, the tests are creatively constructed to achieve an objective, which in this case, is pushing front load washing machines.

My first washer was a very old GE top loader. It used a substantial amount of water and power, but served admirably. The next unit was a Frigidaire front loader that was quite efficient, but did not wash clothes as well as the GE top loader it replaced. The Frigidaire suffered a catastophic failure, which was not due to any fault of the machine, but rather, operator error, in that it was badly overloaded. The machine did do well considering the small amount of power and water it used.

This then was replaced by a Samsung front loader that was quiet, efficient, well thought out, user friendly, had very low vibration, but did not wash clothes very well. This machine smelled bad, despite following the manufacturers directions, though that did help somewhat. The smell is pretty much a fact of life for any front load washer, but the manual does tell how to reduce it. This machine used very little water and scant power considering it's capacity, but like I said, it did not wash clothes that well. A year and a half after purchase, it stopped draining. I am mechanically inclined, so I cleaned the trap on the lower front of the machine, but this did not help. The pump was still working (I could hear it) so I opened up the back and checked the hoses for clogs. This led to a messy and RIDICULOUSLY DIFFICULT operation, but the clog was cleared, and the machine worked again, though I am not sure if the pump is working 100%. The trap was not very dirty, and I am careful to check clothing before washing. I cut myself badly in working on this (I feel for the repairmen out there) and I was so disappointed in what happened, that I went out and bought an LG top loader (after MUCH research.) This unit has a huge capacity, and though it does use more water (a little more) and more power (a little more,) it is an Energy Star appliance. It uses just enough water to do what it was purchased to do, and the difference in the wash quality is OBVIOUS. Ohh, but this is not the approved front loader design being pushed on us. Well, to put it another way, I can wash TWO king size comforters in this thing IN ONE LOAD, and they come out CLEAN, whereas my previous front loader (less capacity) required two loads to do the same two comforters, which came out not nearly as clean! It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that I will be spending LESS time and money doing one big load in this machine, than doing two smaller loads in the previous machine. I'm NOT interested in wasting water and electricity, I AM interested in a washing machine that cleans clothes. This machine is the one for me -I'm happy.

The Samsung front loader would have been great if the drain pump system were better, and if it used a proper amount of water, but it does not. If you do some research (as I did) you will find that there are a multitude of other people out there, that are fed up with washing machines that wash poorly, AND cost a fortune. Admittedly, time will tell if the LG durability and reliability are as good as I expect they will be. There are those that would say that I do not know what I am talking about, but then, I believe I earned the right to say that I do. My mother (a laundry expert) would agree! Make a wise choice.

Purchased the LG WT5001CW because of its load capacity, washing features and had a falling apart with my 8 year old Kenmore front loading machine (smell and several pump breakdown problems...tired of calling the repairman and taking apart my appliance on my Friday nights). With the LG, I've been very happy with most of the washing options. Unfortunately, there is no delicate cycle. I thought I could just use the "wool cycle" and use the "low spin" to get delicate wash results. WRONG. Apparently, this washer loves to spin, and spin at very high rpms! I have found little difference between extra high, high, med and low spin (even no spin will spin your clothes during the wash cycle. It only omits spinning at the very end).

While my clothes are coming out very clean, I'm very worried about how long they will last. I'm frightened to wash sweaters or anything that I really value and can't replace. It aggressively washes towels, tshirts, jeans just great. But, on more delicate fabrics and sweaters it is just as aggressive in its washing and will spin them into infinity. I'm hoping this is a flaw to my machine and that a repairman might be able to adjust this. But how sad to have to call a repairman on a brand new machine. Unacceptable!

Great load capacity, water levels are great, soap dispensing and fabric softner dispenses as it should, hot water isn't really "hot" just warm, clothes are clean and almost dry when cycles are done, does wrinkle them a bit, fairly quiet (it's no mouse, our front loader was quieter but for a top loader, this machine is easier on the ears and noise level in the home than most), it's pretty to look at, has a charming beep/song when done. My children love to watch it wash and are hoping I will resort to hand washing my delicate items in the bathtub so they can keep the beautiful, space spinner.

I love the top loader...but LG, why can't I have a top loader with it all? I wanted this machine to be the one I told my friends and family I couldn't live without. If someone has found such a top loader, please share so I can return this "not quite" and finish my ever growing piles of laundry.

P.S. I have been trying to contact costumer support with questions about this washer, with no luck. Can't seem to get them by email. When I call, I can usually get a live person to take my name and number and then I am put on hold for an hour and 20 minutes with no response. They haven't even called me back either. With no costumer service, I guess I'll just count myself lucky that I purchased this washer from a store with a 30 day return policy. Back to the store and washer buying.

Want LG WT5001CW 4.5 cu. Ft. Top Load Washer - White Discount?

My 5 star rating is for the washer only! See below for my issues with Price Pros.

This thing is fantastic! This washer handles more laundry in a load than anything I have ever seen and gets 'em CLEAN! It is also SUPER quiet.

For those who are trying to decide on a washer based on reviews, we know it is tough and we did lots of research too. You won't go wrong with this one.

Because of my wife's allergies, we do LARGE loads of bedding a lot, including comforters and sheets for king size beds. We've had no issues whatsoever with damaging the laundry as I saw in some other reviews. The washer moves those big things around in there and cleans 'em all over. (Yep, I pretty much watched the first couple of washes all the way through to see how a washer without an agitator works...I'm weird that way) The washer does spin really fast, but this helps everything get cleaner and dry faster. If you have delicate clothes, there are settings for that and they work as expected. I recommend putting your laundry in the dryer soon after it is done washing to help prevent wrinkles, but this is no different than any other washer I have used (Top quality Whirlpool, Roper, and Maytags in the past).

Pros:

Best washer we could find in the reviews and it is living up to it's good reputation.

Gets clothes and all laundry REALLY clean.

Super quiet.

Handles humungous loads

Uses tons less water than our old machines

Cons:

Price Pros are Awful! Price...OK Pros...No way. Buy it from someone else.

My review of Price Pros:

1. Shipping was DAYS late and they did not unpack or place the unit (as was done with the dryer we ordered at the same time from another company).

2. We think they shipped bad product on purpose.

3. They made ZERO effort to make their problems right.

We had just moved to a rural area where we really needed it on time. There was cosmetic damage to the unit, but NOTHING wrong with the packaging. When I contacted Price Pros about this, they asked for pictures of the packaging (so THEY could make a claim to the shipping company). I did not have pictures for them, because the packaging was not in any way damaged (yes, I was there for the delivery and did inspect it thoroughly) and you obviously have to take the packaging off to get at the washer. They made no attempt whatsoever to make the problem right for us. We decided to keep the washer, instead of returning it, because by the time we got it, we needed it vey badly and the damage was only cosmetic. Hopefully others can learn from our mistake in buying from Price Pros Don't do it!

Whirlpool W10321304 Bin for RefrigeratorFits my Sear's bought Kenmore Fridge perfectly. This part was bought as a replacement for my fridge door bin that was cracked. Color and material was the same as the original part. Glad that I went with Amazon for the replacement part rather than Sears! Amazon saved me $20.00!! :)

Other than being surprised that the door bin was mas made out of clear plastic instead of white like the bin I was trying to replace, this new bin is perfect. Fair price and was exactly what I needed, very pleased.

Omni R200 Refrigerator and Icemaker Water Filter

Omni R200 Refrigerator and Icemaker Water FilterIt was time to replace my icemaker filter again, so ordered this one on Amazon. The problem is that this filter is made ONLY for the push-in type connection for small plastic tubing. My filter connects to a to nylon tubing line that requires screw-in metal fittings. My last filter was adaptable to either connection type, where as this filter is not. In the product description it states "Includes quick connect fittings for installation on 1/4-Inch plastic or copper refrigerator or ice maker water lines". I took that to mean it was adaptable to both quick connect or threaded connect as long as I had the parts...but this is not the case. So will have to buy another one tomorrow.

The filter looks fine but I could not install it myself since I have a different model installed now. I need a plumber to install it. The filter is supposed to last one year and this compelled me to buy it.

Samsung RB195ACPN 18.2 Cu. Ft. Stainless Look Counter Depth Bottom Freezer Refrigerator -

Samsung RB195ACPN 18.2 Cu. Ft. Stainless Look Counter Depth Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Energy StarWe recently remodeled our small eat-in kitchen. I choose this model because it fits into a 33 inch opening. Also, counter depth is nice because things don't get lost way in back so easy.

This unit has a swing open freezer door, but they also make it in a pull out drawer style freeze, the RB197 model. My opinion is the pull out drawer is OK on deeper units, but doesn't open far enough on the counter depth. Go with the swing style door on the RB195 if going counter depth.

We have ours boxed in pretty tight between a pantry and tall end panel. Definitely not meeting Samsung's operating clearance specs, but I vented the wall behind the fridge into the cellar stairs.

After about 3 months I can say we are very happy with this fridge. It doesn't run much and is very quite when it does.

I have owned a Samsung fridge and have had nothing but problems with it. Samsungs I have found out have notoriously had cooling problems especially with the coils freezing. Don't just take my word for it, look up class action on Samsung fridges. I tried repairing this fridge twice with appliance repair companies to no avail. Once your fridge stops properly cooling, it more than likely will cost you less to buy another brand. I hate giving this fridge a bad review as I loved the design of the fridge and Samsung brand products in general but unfortunately they havent really figured out how to make a reliable fridge. For the cost of these appliances, you should get more than a year or so of reliable use.

There are several models involved in the class action, not just my model. So you can judge for yourself on whether you want to purchase a Samsung fridge but I wanted to share my experiences with Samsung brand refrigerators and put the information out there about the known defect.

Buy

I have had my fridge for over 2 years, no issues at all.

It is easy to clean, lots of space.

The only thing that bugs me a bit is the bottom freezer drawers, you have to tug on them a bit, and say you are taking something like an ice cream pail or bowl out, you have to almost take the drawer off its tracks.

Great product, looks very nice and sleek in your kitchen.

Our mistake long years ago was building in the refrigerator. I have had problems finding one that fit and this fits my space!! This frig with the freezer has less space than my last but is adequate. And I love having the freezer space. The door space is great also. I hope I never have to replace it. Amazon's price and speedy delivery was 5 star also.

Want

Purchased in June of 2011. In July 2012 water began to collect inside and underneath the bins, and to freeze. Food in the bins also froze. Then the fans began to make noises. Then ice appeared on the back wall (inside). Fans totally stopped. So much for "twin cooling".

The only way to keep food cold was to place it against back wall but that also froze the part nearer the wall. I unplugged it and it took all weekend to melt the ice on the back wall. Put everything back in, started it up, and it worked okay again...for about five weeks when all the same things happened. Meanwhile, the ice machine had broken in the freezer. I had hoped that shutting down the ref. to defrost it might get it going again. But it is still not working properly....sometimes it makes ice, every few weeks maybe. Then it stops. Both a ref. and ice maker ought to last more than 13 months, regardless of what a warranty states.

I have contacted Samsung customer service and so far have gotten inane responses that essentially are apologies that I do not "like" something about my ref. I have lost a lot of time dealing with this defective item and also lost a lot of food. I can only shop for a few

things at a time. I am asking Samsung to replace this defective ref. with a new one or repair it and either way at no cost to me. I will report on what they do or do not do. If they do not meet this reasonable request I will never buy a Samsung product again and will tell everyone I know about my experience, at every opportunity, for the rest of my life. In fact, I met an acquaintance today at the Sears appliance section looking for a ref. and I told him what happened.

**** Update ****

May 27, 2013

Upgrade from 1 Star to 3 Stars

This past Monday, the Samsung repair person came, saw that what

I had reported was true, and said he had to order parts and would

return. This was after having got first a verbal then emailed promise

that Samsung would repair my Ref. even though it was out of warranty

by about 8 months. The customer service people were very professional

and I only had to explain the hardship I had experienced and to ask them

if they would please repair it for them to volunteer to do so, free of charge.

Because of this, I add one Star.

The repair man came back on Friday but was very late...it caused me to

have to pick up my son early from school to suit his schedule. Nevertheless,

he did come and he was very professional and did what had to be done to

make the Ref and Icemaker work again. Now everything is working perfectly.

So the repairman earned a Star as well, bringing the total to 3 Stars.

So if the Ref goes on working well for at least five years, I will feel

I got my monies' worth. When it works well, this is a very nice Ref., but it

was a lot of trouble and of course I would rather have no problems, so I

cannot give it more than 3 Stars.

I believe part of the problem was this was a new design, so in future I

would think twice about buying a newly designed machine of any kind or brand,

but I was treated fairly by Samsung under the circumstances; that is to their

credit.

U-Line : 1115RB-00 15 Compact Refrigerator

U-Line : 1115RB-00 15 Compact RefrigeratorWe bought this model for use in our game room bar in July 2008. Upon delivery the temperature controller failed to work properly and the unit never cooled. The controller went completely blank in just a couple of days. The retailer refused to provide us with a new unit and sent a service technician to our house. The technician found that the wiring harness to the cooling fan had either come loose or been installed incorrectly. After connecting the wiring harness the unit began to cool but we found the digital controller still wasn't working properly. The technician asked us to use it for a couple of days to see if it worked itself out. Several days later, unable to change the temperature at all, we again called the appliance retailer and demanded a new unit. They again refused, sending the technician out again. He said he thought the entire computer was fried and needed to take the unit to his shop for service. We were without the refrigerator for three weeks while all of the electronics were replaced. When it was returned it seemed to work fine. Now, almost one year to the day after it was repaired, the temperature controller has again failed and the digital readout is blank. I expected more from a $1,000 bar refrigerator from U-Line. I would not recommend this unit based on my experience with it. Check out the Marvel or Scotsman refrigerators for roughly the same price.

Deni 6100 Automatic 70-Watt Stainless-Steel Ice Crusher

Deni 6100 Automatic 70-Watt Stainless-Steel Ice CrusherMy wife loves to crunch ice. We purchased a new refrigerator with an ice crusher, but the chunks were fairly large for crunching, with pieces about 1/2" to 5/8" in size. I was hoping that this unit would crush ice further to make more of a slushie ice. To my wife's delight, this unit crushes ice to a fairly uniform 1/4" and under piece size, perfect for crunching. The ice chunks end up soft and easy on the teeth, and, like a slushie, hold onto soda or juice for flavor. The unit is used two to three times a day and seems pretty rugged.

I have always wanted an ice crusher for my fresh brewed ice tea and now my new found martini recipes. Well this is one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon!

Yes, people complained about one ice cube at a time, that is not the case.

I have an ice maker and can put two to three cubes at a time and it crushes a large glass full within a minute! It makes perfect crushed ice and it's not loud like trying to use a blender.

I HIGHLY recommend this product for those of you considering the purchase!

Happy Summer drinking :)

While the Deni 6100 replaced a 50's hand-crank crusher, it is limited by the fact that it is not adjustable and crushes ice to a relatively fine size, smaller than our old hand style that had 3 settings. There is a spring-loaded trap door where you insert the ice cubes and sometimes it catches a cube, but is no big deal. Watch out for 'counter flooding' from where the crushed ice collects inside the the outlet (where you cannot see it). While most of the ice falls into a clear plastic container the ice that remains in the crusher can result in a considerable amount water dripping onto the base as it melts if you do not replace the container. Also, the shape of the container is a bit awkward, as it can stick. It looks rather space-age and is compact so it does not take up much space (although it is probably not an appliance that tends to find a permanent place on the counter). Oh, yeah! It is fairly loud and sounds like something is breaking (which it is).

9.2 cu. ft. Bottom-Freezer Mid-Size Refrigerator with 2 Adjustable Spill Proof Glass Shelves 2 Cris

9.2 cu. ft. Bottom-Freezer Mid-Size Refrigerator with 2 Adjustable Spill Proof Glass Shelves 2 Crispers Including Glass Cover Reversible Door and LED Lighting White

Finally, we have the perfect refrigerator for our small household. We suffered through several years of refrigerators with small freezer drawers within the body of the fridge: the fridge never seemed to stay cold enough (warm milk!) and the freezer drawer was constantly choked with ice, and the power bill was strangely high. But having decided to buy a bigger fridge, we could not find one locally--they were either for dorms, or for large families. I was a bit nervous about ordering a major appliance through Amazon.

The Danby refrigerator, 9.2-cu-ft capacity, is plenty large for two people, is Energy Star-compliant (and down went the electric bill). The freezer is plenty big enough for our bags of frozen veggies and fruits. The LED light takes a bit of getting used to, but we like it--it doesn't blind you when you open the door in a darkened kitchen. It's easy to keep clean. The recessed door handles don't catch sleeves.

The only caveat is that when the shippers dropped off the refrigerator, they dropped it off at the sidewalk. That's as far as they take it. One of my lovely neighbors came over with a beefy handtruck and sheet of plywood and helped us haul it up the front steps and into the kitchen. If you live in an upstairs apartment or other home without easy curb access, be prepared. Otherwise, the whole thing went off without a hitch, and I have since recommended to people here in town that they buy off Amazon for the better selection.

We live in a very small space. It is so great to have the refrigerator only take up the space we need for our food. We shop once a week and have enough space for all of our purchases. It is great. (It does not have a light in the freezer.) We shopped all over, it is the only thing like it on the market. We are tall and love the freezer on the bottom. (We do not use the soda can storage, would rather have more shelf.)
