We recently remodeled our small eat-in kitchen. I choose this model because it fits into a 33 inch opening. Also, counter depth is nice because things don't get lost way in back so easy.
This unit has a swing open freezer door, but they also make it in a pull out drawer style freeze, the RB197 model. My opinion is the pull out drawer is OK on deeper units, but doesn't open far enough on the counter depth. Go with the swing style door on the RB195 if going counter depth.
We have ours boxed in pretty tight between a pantry and tall end panel. Definitely not meeting Samsung's operating clearance specs, but I vented the wall behind the fridge into the cellar stairs.
After about 3 months I can say we are very happy with this fridge. It doesn't run much and is very quite when it does.I have owned a Samsung fridge and have had nothing but problems with it. Samsungs I have found out have notoriously had cooling problems especially with the coils freezing. Don't just take my word for it, look up class action on Samsung fridges. I tried repairing this fridge twice with appliance repair companies to no avail. Once your fridge stops properly cooling, it more than likely will cost you less to buy another brand. I hate giving this fridge a bad review as I loved the design of the fridge and Samsung brand products in general but unfortunately they havent really figured out how to make a reliable fridge. For the cost of these appliances, you should get more than a year or so of reliable use.
There are several models involved in the class action, not just my model. So you can judge for yourself on whether you want to purchase a Samsung fridge but I wanted to share my experiences with Samsung brand refrigerators and put the information out there about the known defect.I have had my fridge for over 2 years, no issues at all.
It is easy to clean, lots of space.
The only thing that bugs me a bit is the bottom freezer drawers, you have to tug on them a bit, and say you are taking something like an ice cream pail or bowl out, you have to almost take the drawer off its tracks.
Great product, looks very nice and sleek in your kitchen. Our mistake long years ago was building in the refrigerator. I have had problems finding one that fit and this fits my space!! This frig with the freezer has less space than my last but is adequate. And I love having the freezer space. The door space is great also. I hope I never have to replace it. Amazon's price and speedy delivery was 5 star also.Purchased in June of 2011. In July 2012 water began to collect inside and underneath the bins, and to freeze. Food in the bins also froze. Then the fans began to make noises. Then ice appeared on the back wall (inside). Fans totally stopped. So much for "twin cooling".
The only way to keep food cold was to place it against back wall but that also froze the part nearer the wall. I unplugged it and it took all weekend to melt the ice on the back wall. Put everything back in, started it up, and it worked okay again...for about five weeks when all the same things happened. Meanwhile, the ice machine had broken in the freezer. I had hoped that shutting down the ref. to defrost it might get it going again. But it is still not working properly....sometimes it makes ice, every few weeks maybe. Then it stops. Both a ref. and ice maker ought to last more than 13 months, regardless of what a warranty states.
I have contacted Samsung customer service and so far have gotten inane responses that essentially are apologies that I do not "like" something about my ref. I have lost a lot of time dealing with this defective item and also lost a lot of food. I can only shop for a few
things at a time. I am asking Samsung to replace this defective ref. with a new one or repair it and either way at no cost to me. I will report on what they do or do not do. If they do not meet this reasonable request I will never buy a Samsung product again and will tell everyone I know about my experience, at every opportunity, for the rest of my life. In fact, I met an acquaintance today at the Sears appliance section looking for a ref. and I told him what happened.

Upgrade from 1 Star to 3 Stars
This past Monday, the Samsung repair person came, saw that what
I had reported was true, and said he had to order parts and would
return. This was after having got first a verbal then emailed promise
that Samsung would repair my Ref. even though it was out of warranty
by about 8 months. The customer service people were very professional
and I only had to explain the hardship I had experienced and to ask them
if they would please repair it for them to volunteer to do so, free of charge.
Because of this, I add one Star.
The repair man came back on Friday but was very late...it caused me to
have to pick up my son early from school to suit his schedule. Nevertheless,
he did come and he was very professional and did what had to be done to
make the Ref and Icemaker work again. Now everything is working perfectly.
So the repairman earned a Star as well, bringing the total to 3 Stars.
So if the Ref goes on working well for at least five years, I will feel
I got my monies' worth. When it works well, this is a very nice Ref., but it
was a lot of trouble and of course I would rather have no problems, so I
cannot give it more than 3 Stars.
I believe part of the problem was this was a new design, so in future I
would think twice about buying a newly designed machine of any kind or brand,
but I was treated fairly by Samsung under the circumstances; that is to their
credit.
