Frigidaire FFPH31M6LM 3.1 Cu. Ft. Compact Refrigerator - Silver Mist

Frigidaire FFPH31M6LM 3.1 Cu. Ft. Compact Refrigerator - Silver MistHave had this fridge for 6 years and it's still running AMAZING.

Perfect for a dorm room as it travels great.

It went back and forth from Reno, NV to Mammoth Lakes, CA twice a year for 4 years. Was moved on it's side and still runs super quiet and super well! Never had any problems with it.

I received this mini fridge for christmas 2 years ago. I wanted one with both a fridge and freezer so i could store frozen snacks as well as regular food. I've transported it back and forth between my school in LA and my home in Orange County about 5 times total and it still runs like new. It's quiet, has a lot of storage, and it looks great! I always get compliments from my friends about my awesome fridge. I couldn't have asked for a better one and its less than $200!!! If youre thinking about buying it, dont hesitate. You wont regret it! I have no idea what the negative review is talking about with the fridge leaking glue. Mine works great and hasn't leaked anything.

This is a fantastic Fridge for space saving. The upper freezer works like mad. The bottom has adjustable shelves. The unit is very quiet, much quieter than large fridges. The thermostat is very accurate and I have NEVER had any issues with this l'il fridge. Any bad reviews for this fridge are plainly insane.

This little refrigerator is a great buy! It runs quietly, is attractive, and beautifies the kitchen with its quiet elegance. It also is qualified as energy efficient, which means we can get rebates from our electric company. The temperature inside is nice and cold.

This would make a great refrigerator for a dorm, or as a backup in case your regular refrigerator decides to quit on you (that's exactly what happened to us).

The only thing we didn't like was the can holder inside the door, which takes up space and is not flexible or removable to accommodate other items.

Having the separate freezer compartment is really great. I can store frozen pizzas, ice cream, and more in it. There is also enough space to put a small microwave on top. Great for a college dorm or small space.

Kenmore Ice Maker Icemaker W10122502 & 2198597

Kenmore Ice Maker Icemaker W10122502 & 2198597
  • Non Oem Part

It was so easy to install this replacement icemaker in my Kenmore Elite fridge. Took a total of about 10 minutes. All parts and directions were included so it was no problem to put in.

Just one thing to remember if your old icemaker hasn't been working for a while, once you put in the new icemaker, you will most likely need to defrost the freezer so the water line can thaw. I forgot about that when I first installed this new icemaker so I was disappointed when it didn't work right away. Then I remembered that the water line to the freezer was probably frozen since our icemaker had been broken for about 6 months. Once I turned the fridge off and let it sit for about 4-5 hours, I plugged it back in and in maybe an hour or two I had ice cubes again! Awesome.

Oh yeah one more thing you'll want to throw away the first few batches of ice from the new icemaker because the water in the line will probably be stagnant (if the old icemaker was broken for a while).

I am very pleased with my purchase and happy I installed the part myself. I saved about $80 over purchasing the same part directly from Sears, and about $145 over having some repair person do it for me.

Excellent!

Item arrived on time and instructions were clear. However, even though this was the correct "replacement" part for my fridge, apparent this "replacement" part is also used on other brand and model number fridges as well. Unfortunately, in an attempt to have this unit function as a universal replacement for multiple refrigerators, not everything lined up. The power harness was ok, but not as good of a quality as the one I took out. Worse, the top "neck" where the water enters wasn't tall enough and water splashed out when the ice tray refilled making a mess in my freezer. The good news was that the only thing inoperative on my old ice maker was the motor and it was completely interchangeable with the new one. So to solve my problem, I used only the motor from the new unit and was able to reuse everything else from my old ice maker.

I bought this for our Kenmore Elite. It took me all of 15 minutes to install...it began working immediately! This is a simple DIY job even for a novice. We don't have to buy bagged ice anymore!

Want Kenmore Ice Maker Icemaker W10122502 & 2198597 Discount?

This product is a drop in replacement for the ice maker that failed in my Kitchen Aid refrigerator, although it is a very very low quality replacement, and I question how long it will last. Besides the very flimsy construction, ice keeps jamming while being ejected. After only a week of operation, ice has jammed between the ejector fingers and the frame of the ice maker 3 times. One time I actually needed to use a hair dryer to melt the stuck piece of ice for fear of breaking the unit! I believe that this unit will need constant babysitting until the motor finally burns out from being jammed so frequently. I highly recommend opting for either an OEM replacement, or at least a bit more expensive knock-off.

10/4/12 Update This unit died a couple days ago, after just over 1 year of use. It continued to jam at least weekly, and was a constant nuisance, so I'm almost happy it finally died...

I did not receive a mounting bracket, screws or instructions. Luckily, the screws and mounting bracket from my old unit fit flawlessly on the new one and it only took a little fiddling around to figure out how to remove/replace it. The unit is making ice, and I have no complaints there. So I guess the moral of the story is don't bother to pay extra for an exact fit all of these units seem to be widely used with a variety of mounting hardware.

Frigidaire 5303917954 Defrost Thermostat for Refrigerator

Frigidaire 5303917954 Defrost Thermostat for RefrigeratorThe price for this can't be even though you have to cut and connect wires. No bid deal. These going out seems to be a common problem and after some research the parts are pretty universal. This part is how the fridge knows it's iced up and needs defrosted. This unit was exactly like the one I took out of the fridge with the exception of the bracket.

If you want to test your old one before purchasing this just take it out and follow these 2 steps:

1. When it's warmed up check for continuity between the 2 wires with a multi-meter. There shouldn't be any.

2. Drop the thermostat into a glass of ice water for several minutes and check again. There should be continuity.

If you get readings other than this the unit is bad and needs replaced. Just because you hear it click when it gets below 30 degrees (plus or minus a few degrees), doesn't mean the thermostat is good.

I hope this review helps :)

Peak 12 Volt Travel Fridge / Warmer (Stores up to 9 12 oz Cans) (PKCOJO)

Peak 12 Volt Travel Fridge / WarmerA little loud, but not a bad machine. I had a 12 volt power supply, and plugged it in at home, immediately putting 4 warm 12oz cans of cola inside. It cooled them down to 41 degrees or so in around 5-6 hours not bad, considering. I'd guess that, if you filled with cold items (as recommended) it'd maintain w/no problem. Didn't try the warmer. Whirlpool WRF989SDAF

Whirlpool WRF989SDAFThe Ice Maker Leaks. No fix for the problem so far. Will update review when/if this problem is resolved. Until then, people need to know this issue exists before buying. Once the problem is solved, I would want to know that the unit I purchase has had the defective ice maker replaced with whatever fix is (hopefully) developed.

Water runs in an arc from the left-side door each time it is opened, where the water has pooled into a lower shelf and runs out. Bread gets wet, the freezer drawer collects some, and if a kitchen were to have wood floors, this would not be good for them.

The water which pools into the ice bucket (which is intended to be removable) freezes, and the plastic bucket cannot be removed because it is sealed into place in a half-inch of frozen water which has leaked along its sides.

It is a design defect with no available fix at this time.

There is a wonderful water filtration feature which can filter out even medications from the water supply. The water filter is easy to change.

The storage space is flexible, which is great.

The freezer compartment has flexible storage space too.

Lots of drawers for deli meat and produce, with see-through bins for ease of access/identification of contents.

Lots of shelves, and it is amazing to have so much space with the same overall dimensions as a 25' fridge.

There are two different sounds made by the compressor, both with a higher noise volume that what our household is accustomed to. This is not a design flaw or problem, simply a refrigerator designed to stay cold with two different compressor cycles. Some may find the noise irritating, some may not be bothered by it.

If the icemaker was designed without the ability to pour into the fridge and bucket, it would be an overall excellent rating from this household.

UPDATE: A service technician has repaired the water leak. Some weeks later, a part arrived (a heating element) at my house, and the following Monday the same service tech arrived to install it (COD, requested by Whirlpool, until I was able to prove that it was still under warranty). If I hadn't known the man's face already, I'd have been afraid to just let in an unscheduled service person. Anyway, now that this heating element is in the refrigerator, the lower freezer is filling up with ice crystals on the left side. I will have to call them again to request another repair.

LG 5231JA2006A Refrigerator Water Filter

LG 5231JA2006A Refrigerator Water FilterAfter reading the debate here about the original "A" filter and the newer "B" filter, I called LG.

They stated there is absolutely no difference in the two filters, as far as performance and filtering capabilities.

This is LG's discontinued 5231JA2006A, NOT the current 5231JA2006B. I replaced my older filter when this arrived from Amazon and it works, but the current version is an improvement over this one. The problem with this filter is the price they are demanding for a discontinued product. I paid way too much for this filter as it is inferior to the current item that is available on the market. Unfortunately, the vendor doesn't make it clear exactly which filter one is purchasing, since the current product's item number appears in parentheses here on Amazon (and, as I recall, on the vendor's website). I recommend finding the current filter and paying the few extra dollars as it is superior to this one.

UPDATE:

Unfortunately, Amazon often compiles reviews for identically-titled, though slightly different products, so it is sometimes difficult to identify the exact product/vendor being reviewed. The product I reviewed above was marketed -and purchased -as the LG 5231JA2006B, but I received the discontinued filter. My review then appeared under both product listings on Amazon for some reason. The vendor was a third party vendor (not fulfilled by Amazon), and I don't recall exactly which vendor it was. The lesson here is to be careful not only about the product one purchases, but to identify how and by whom the purchase is fulfilled. I have since purchased the current (and correct) filter a number of times on Amazon and am very happy with it.

Buy LG 5231JA2006A Refrigerator Water Filter Now

I researched these filers over a year ago when I was hunting for the cheapest place to purchase a replacement. The "A" model is not discontinued, it just doesn't filter out as much as the "B" model does. So if you are looking for a filter that meets ANSI 42 standards this will do just fine. If you want a better filter that meets ANSI 42 and 53, then go with the more expensive B model. It really depends on the water you are filtering as everyones water from the tap will be different. I have purchased both filters from discountfilterstore.com with excellent service and their website provides the breakdown of particulates filtered for each model. Don't take everyone lines of something being discontinued. They wouldn't still be selling them years later if they were discontinued.

This is an original equipment filter from LG who makes the Kenmore refrigerator that it also fits. The only difference between this and the Kenmore filter that came with the Sears Kenmore refrigerator, is that I noticed where Kenmore had placed a stick on label over the LG name name and stock number. When I removed it can you guess what I discovered? Of course you can, the LG name and number. Sears is trying to make an extra $20 on each replacement filter that an uninformed consumer purchases. Congratulations you are now an informed consumer and smarter than they are!!!!

5231JA2006B (or LG LT600P)is the newer and BETTER replacement filter for 5231JA2006A, and is only about $45. This seller is trying to make a killing selling the "original/old filter" to people who don't know any better. This older filter is only about $35 at most sites that still have it for sale.

Water Sentinel WSA-1 Replacement Fridge Filter, 3 Pack, Fits Amana Clean 'N Clear Wf40, Wf401

Water Sentinel WSA-1 Replacement Fridge Filter, 3 Pack, Fits Amana Clean 'N Clear Wf40, Wf401
  • Fridge filter to replace Amana Clean 'N Clear

I knew this was a generic, so that didn't bother me. The filters were shipped out quickly and received promptly. The description says these are a match for the Amana 46-9904 filter, which is the one we use in our fridge. However, when we got them, they didn't fit properly and water was spraying everywhere. On the plus side the company gave us no hassle about returning them (except we had to pay shipping back). The company was very responsive and good to work with. So the one star is for the product, not the company.

Buy Water Sentinel WSA-1 Replacement Fridge Filter, 3 Pack, Fits Amana Clean 'N Clear Wf40, Wf401 Now

I purchased these as a replacement for an Amana WF40 filter. This filter WILL fit but it is not easy to install. First of all when you remove the old filter take a look at the top and notice that there are 2 lips that work to hold/tighten the filter into place. Orient the new filters lips in the same way as the old filter when removed. The new filter will require MUCH MORE upward force to catch both lips while installing. Use both hands if you can and force the filter up and turn clockwise simultaneously. If both lips catch, the filter will screw on evenly. If the new filter is going on crooked, STOP, turn it back and try again. It took me 4-5 tries before I could get both lips to catch and get the filter on. I'm a guy with big strong hands and I can see how many folks would not have the patience or the hand strength to install this filter. If you can, it's a great bargain and I will be buying these in the future. I would also note that there is about a 25% reduction in water flow speed with these filters. Not a major issue for me. I flushed the system with 2 gallons before drinking and the taste is now resorted.

These filters are a recent answer to the expense of replacement filters, and they are NOT the answer. My Kenmore takes filter #46-9014, a number clearly marked on the package of the Water Sentinel. And it does not fit. I trued screwing it in for 15 minutes, finally got what I thought was the "sweet spot", and then screwed it in. Upon trying to get water out of the fridge, water sprayed everywhere and did not come out of the spigot. Bad product.

Everyone please note that these are Water Sentinel filters and NOT AMANA as the title suggests. This is very misleading as this is not the Amana brand name replacement as the title implies , but a generic replacement. I did not notice this until I received the product. The picture shows it, but I do not think they should be able to say it in their title and I am going to let Amazon know about this.

After looking at prices for the LG brand name replacements, I decided to take a shot at a generic filter. They seem to work fine, the only slight issue I have is that the filter doesn't seem as tight a fit as the original one did. It does NOT leak however, and seems to be working fine so far. I would recomment this product.

Whirlpool GB2FHDXWQ Gold 21.9 Cu. Ft. White Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Energy Star

Whirlpool GB2FHDXWQ Gold 21.9 Cu. Ft. White Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Energy Star
  • 5 Spillproof Glass Shelves
  • Reversible Door Swing
  • Clear Humidity-Controlled Crisper
  • Slide-Out Freezer Drawer
  • Factory Installed Automatic Ice Maker

I've had this fridge for a month now and am very happy.

1) Fridge space: Lots of room inside. I was concerned that the controls near the top would get in the way when putting tall bottles on the top shelf but that hasn't been an issue.

2) Drawer space: I specifically selected a fridge without the "catering drawer" because I eat lots of veggies and wanted the space for them. I really use all the space in the vegetable drawers. While I'm not disappointed, I could even use more veggie space.

3) Freezer: It works great, but I have a couple of issues.

The first is that with the curved back of the freezer, it feels like I have less space than my prior 18.5 cu.ft. fridge. Not sure, but it just seems like now that I have a freezer that actually works, I don't have enough space to do the cook-ahead and freeze stuff I would have liked. Also, I would really have preferred a door rather than a drawer. To get to the ice, you have to pull the entire bottom drawer out and only then can you pull out the top shelf which holds the ice cube bin at the back. It's do-able but it just doesn't make sense to have to pull all the frozen stuff out into the room when all I want is a handful of ice cubes.

4) Noise level: I know folks have had issues with noise but not me. This fridge is really quiet, making just a bit of noise when it fills the ice cube tray

5) Surface texture: I don't know why another review complained that the sides of the fridge were texttured rather than smooth --I am happy with the texture. I like it.

Quick note on size: I had to get this fridge into a small space as I have an old-fashioned kitchen. The published depth is 33" including the door but it is actually just over 30" including the door, which worked well for me.

So, despite my nit-picking, I'm very happy with the fridge. . .

4/3/2012

I'm still really happy with the fridge. I took a very expensive extended warranty out on this fridge because of all the negative reviews but I'm happy that I've not had to use it. The freezer still seems a bit small compared to my old fridge, but I love the refrigerator.

Buy Whirlpool GB2FHDXWQ Gold 21.9 Cu. Ft. White Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Energy Star Now

After 18 months, my refrigerator drain froze up and dumped water into the floor of the freezer which froze in a sheet of ice. It then partially thawed periodically and leaked water out the front onto the floor. Yes, I did not buy an extended warranty contract for this refrigerator.

I took the refrigerator apart, removed all the ice and cleaned the drain, and am waiting to see if the problem reappears. If it does, it is either a defective defrost control or a bad fan. Either one of these will cost you $300 to get a service tech to repair it in your home.

For a DIYer, to remove an ice blockage, you have to remove the bottom door, drawers and part of the drawer tracks, as well as the ice maker to get the back panel out in the freezer. Then, to ensure you have gotten all the ice out, you have to remove the panel on the back of the refrigerator and inspect the drain all the way to the evaporator tray, which is hidden behind the back panel. This took me about 3 hours.

I wrote a bad review on Whirlpool's website, where I found several similar complaints about the freeze-up problem, and was contacted by a customer relations person via email. She demanded my name, address, phone number, and the serial number of my refrigerator. Then, by return email she said they have no service bulletins indicating that this is a problem with their refrigerators. Then she volunteered to sell me a service contract. She also said they do not have any service technicians available to talk to customers.

Then, Whirlpool REMOVED MY BAD REVIEW FROM THEIR WEBSITE!

Actually, we like the refrigerator and I would have given it a higher rating if it went problem free for 4 or 5 years, AND if Whirlpool was helpful. Neither happened so I would recommend that you find a company with a better record.

Read Best Reviews of Whirlpool GB2FHDXWQ Gold 21.9 Cu. Ft. White Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Energy Star Here

We LOVE this fridge. The Fridge space is great and organized well with shelves that slide out to make everything accessible. The fridge is quiet, it can be noisy at first when it's making ice, but after the tray is full, it runs quietly. We love the ease of the of the bottom mount freezer, it's seems so much easier to open then the side by sides.

The freezer seems smaller than a traditional freezer, but the drawer feature and the divider does help with organization. The only real problem is it doesn't fit a large frozen pizza real well.

The biggest problem with this fridge is the door doesn't shut well. Even if you push it shut you really need to push it hard and make sure it shuts. I have found it slightly ajar more than once, and we are a family with teens who certainly know how to slam shut a fridge. I wish it had a door alarm to alert you when it's open. It's the only thing that we don't like about this fridge.

Want Whirlpool GB2FHDXWQ Gold 21.9 Cu. Ft. White Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Energy Star Discount?

I bought this refrigerator May 28th 2011. For several months it worked well but then we started noticing droplets of water, ice and eventually a sheet of ice covering the very bottom of the freezer compartment. We defrosted it and left the door open for awhile to make sure there was no ice left and tried it again, same result. Figuring that this could be a problem with the cabinet not being level that was checked and found good. The icemaker was also checked and level and turned off for awhile. Again it sheeted ice in the bottom. After pulling the panels and testing the drain (no easy task given the design of this unit) the drain was found to be open. While in there it was a good time to clean the condenser coils located on the very bottom. These are designed in such a way that it's impossible to get a coil brush thru them or near enough to do any good. Compressed air is about the only option and that really doesn't get them clean. This somehow got an energy star rating but the design is so poor that it certainly would not maintain good efficiency over the appliances lifetime unless the owner was able to keep these coils clean and dust free.

Whirlpool's Customer Experience Center has been emailed and contacted also by phone. Their rep "Terry" in Cleveland Tenn was very polite but said "youre out of warranty" and got a supervisor to speak with me. The supervisor "Joetta" commented that I was "Well out of the warranty period" at 3 months and 3 weeks and offered to fix my appliance along with a years extended warranty for $319.99. After a little better than a year I regret buying this refrigerator and regret that I chose Whirlpool.

We've only had this refrigerator for about a month so I can't comment on the quality, but it does appear to be nice. It is very quiet and looks great. My only complaint about the bottom freezer is how much space the drawer system takes up. Don't expect to stuff it full, like you would with a normal top freezer.

Minor issue:

You have to make sure the door closes completely after each use. We were used to lightly closing the door and walking away with our old unit, but this one will not seal unless you make a point to purposely close the door. We have woken up in the morning to find the door open a half inch with everything inside completely warm...

Whirlpool W10158389 Water Valve for Dishwasher

Whirlpool W10158389 Water Valve for DishwasherThis Whirlpool water valve was a direct replacement for the original and it worked perfectly. I couldn't have been happier.

This worked in replacing the broken water valve on my Whirlpool dishwasher. It seems at least as good as the original. The only problem here is that the original lasted about 4 years before cracking and leaking water under the dishwasher. This is a new part number, so I hope it holds up longer, but only time will tell.

Buy Whirlpool W10158389 Water Valve for Dishwasher Now

Top rating! Part arrived in 1 day, and it fixed a non-working 6 year old DW. For just $25, this water inlet valve kept me from having to buy a $125 motor, or an $800 new DW. So, if your DW is not using water it may be because this simple $25 inlet valve is frozen closed. This valve is easy to install, except you have to pull out the DW and you have to reconnect the DW.

I was starting to have water coming out underneath my dishwasher and even after changing the hoses, there was still a leak. The only other part left to change was the valve. Although Amazon's price was a little more than 3rd party sellers, the product arrived in 1 day and I was able to switch out the part and the leak is now gone. The part matched exactly like the part I replaced in my Whirlpool dishwasher.
