It is stated that this is a Whirlpool product complete with the Whirlpool part number. It is not Whirlpool it is an after market replacement. Had I known that, I would have purchased elsewhere as I could have purchased an after market unit for less. This selling practice is not acceptable and I feel confident that Amazon is not aware of it.

As noted by another purchaser, this is not a Whirlpool product as advertised. It is made by Supco. False advertising! Even though it has the model number required by our refridgerator, it did not work...would not trigger water flow. Should have looked at the previous comment before buying this product. Being returned.

This is not OEM part and I really thought it was from reading the seller's description. It's a little misleading if you ask me.

I strongly recommend this product for any one owning a door in Whirlpool ice maker. All needed and un-needed parts arrived in we'll packaged container with well understood instructions included. Installation per instructions took less than 30 minutes and after a couple hrs. It was making ice and it has continued to make ice with no hang ups after several months of continues service. Purchase of this ice maker from Amazon was only a forth of the cost of a replacement if it where purchased from a Whirlpool parts center. I'm more than pleased with my Amazon purchase and will always go to Amazon as first choose for my needs.
