Refrigrator Automatic Ice Maker Kit

If you buy this part, make sure you give it 24 hours to work. I was expecting it to start working right away as soon as I installed it. I was very frustrated when I didn't see the dial start to spin when installed. I actually took the part out and sent it back thinking it was defective. Well it turns out the part has an internal thermostat that has to get cold to the right temperature in order to kick the icemaker on. They failed to leave out this very important bit of information. The common lay person would never know this. So don't send it back, give it 24hrs to work!

When installing this replacement icemaker be sure to use a small level. If the icemaker is not level the water will overflow and make a mess. Yes I made the mistake so you wont!! The on/off arm is smaller and shaped differently than shown in the picture so I used the old on/off arm. The kit came with several different wire harnesses(4)and two tubes. I didn't need to replace the water tube. All in all this was easy to install and the best price that I found. The manufacture name on the box is Supco (Sealed Unit Parts Co. Inc.). Part name on box is RIM500 Modular icemaker service kit. Replaces: Whirpool 4317943, 978556, Maytag and subzero.

DO NOT buy this item, as the unit you will recieve is not the same as the one pictured, or described. Unit came without shutoff arm, wiring harnesses, installation hardware or instrcutions. Called seller to inquire and was told amazon made a mistake and has the wrong picture displayed. According to the CSR, this has happened to several other people as well. But guess what, for a mere extra $20 they offered to sell me one that looks just like the picture. This is an absolute bait and switch, false advertising, etc...Seller also would not authorize a return or refund. Buy at your own risk! Part number that arrived is W10190965, mfr is FSP. Again, not what was listed in the description....

The product was exactly what we needed. There was one little part missing, but we had it on our original unit. It is perfect for a replacement and about half price of a parts store. The parts guy actually told me how to check for it online. Glad I did!

This is a very good replacement for the ice maker on my Whirlpool fridge. It's not an exact replacement, but it's definitely comparable. To me, "very good" means I didn't have to hack around to make it fit or function. The quality is just OK though.

* Plastic ice tray instead of the plastic coated metal tray of the OEM. (Plastic coating peeled off and corroded the metal tray and made weird ice. It's a good thing I'm done making babies, because it shed some pretty funky stuff into the ice!)

* The instructions were pretty slim and didn't even really apply to this model.

* Not as well constructed as the original unit. Definitely more flimsy.

* Makes ice pretty slowly. Our old ice maker would fill the bin in a day--even under daily use. This one hasn't filled it yet!

* Drops the cubes straight down and doesn't hit the bin every time.

The title says it all. I am surprised how well this little fridge cools, but it is quite loud so I wouldn't want it in a hotel room with me overnight. Great for car and good if it is somewhere NOT where you are sleeping.

I was very disappointed with this product. I brought it to have a little Fridge at work but it turns out to be a waste of my money. It does not get cold so the food goes bad.

I bought this product and had it in my bedroom with me. It was very quiet and cooled exceptionally well, but after about a week of it constantly running it stopped working. there was so much condensation inside the back that the mini fridge just shut down. That is the reason why Im not giving it five stars.

Liebherr CS1311: 24" Refrigerator & Freezer

We got this fridge with our new house that we bought last year. The fridge is 2.7 years old and looks beautiful, both outside and inside. It worked fine and has some nice design features.

So far so good. However, last week it broke (false alarm, temp control issues etc). Liebherr contracts their US service with Adco company in Arizona. They referred me to a local Seattle appliance shop. They diagnosed the main control board as failing & need to replace it. Turns out the part is ~$300 and the warranty is 2 years, i.e. I'm 7 months outside of warranty. Adco/Liebherr refuse to show any flexibility on that even though it's a control board, not a fridge door it shouldn't be failing for years to come.

My local Seattle repair shop orders the part with expedited 3-day air delivery and gets that order confirmed. 7 days later there is no part and the casual statement from Adco that it is not in stock in the US and they have to get it from Germany. No ETA. No apology. No ownership. No solution. Not even the offer to call me back and keep me posted just simply dis-interested. Liebherr: Please make this item more reliable. And please fix your US service network.

Update from January 2013 (moving from 1star to 3stars):

After several unsuccessful repair attempts we ended up replacing the fridge. Liebherr has been good to work with on this. I think my final opinion of this fridge is (still not actually knowing what part broke): It's a beautiful piece of high technology. And all its hightech is geared toward energy efficiency which it does really well. But its level of sophistication might make it hard for the average repair shop to diagnose if any issues arise.

This filter works...... but I have to change it every 2-3 months when my refrigerator's warning light comes on. And I am the only user at home. I cannot imagine the cost to replace this filter per year for a household of 3-4. The price needs to come down a bit. I cannot afford this filter so I have to install under-sink filtration system with filter that last 12 months; and still pay far less to replace.

The item does match my Kenmore refrigerator however there are some problems. The buyer must CUT the shelf retaining bar to fit. If you don't have metal snips it's a real problem. The snips compresses the area of the shelf bar when cutting. Also the bar has clips on either side to fit into a slot holding it in place on the refrigerator door. Once the bar is cut to fit, one side of the clips are cut away. The bar needs to be bent/opened to fit the slot, a process I assure you. I don't have anything heavy against the shelf bar thank G-d, but for another buyer, be advised.

I purchased this item for a full sized fridge. Please be aware this is a small bar. It measured 20.25 inches long by 1.75 inches tall. The bar has one rough edge and appears to have been cut by someone. The quality is so so. Mine arrived a little dirty and also a little bit dented. Do not purchase this item if you have a full sized fridge. Do purchase this item if you have a mini fridge and have verified this is the correct bar for your fridge either by photos and dimensions or by a 3rd party website. Also, the item arrived in two plastic bags which were messily tapped together; it was not very professionally packaged.

This product is not slide in and the directions leave a lot to be desired. Four screws in my cabinet walls and a bunch of swearing later and I finally got it installed. It arrives three sided and each side is a different dimension and angle. They tried to make a one size fits all and it really doesn't work well at all. Really nasty to install.

This flter for stove is what I needed, sirprising the saleman at the store new nothing about it. This is just amazing, people who work at the stores do not know the marchandise.
