Whynter BWR-281DZ Dual Zone Built-In Wine Refrigerator, 28-Bottle

Whynter BWR-281DZ Dual Zone Built-In Wine Refrigerator, 28-BottleAs a previous Viking wine fridge owner, I've been spoiled. I wasn't expecting anything close given the fraction of the cost. I was duly pleased by what I got in this dual zone wine fridge.

The wine fridge shipped via freight which was a nice surprise. I would not have enjoyed receiving this delivery if had to get beat up by UPS package delivery. Scheduling the delivery ahead of time was also way more convenient than getting that annoying door tag when you miss the delivery. So it was off to a good start.

Packaging was plain but sturdy enough for the item. Handle bar had to be installed and was easy enough. Nice handle bar actually. Easy to grip with no sharp corners. The shelving is very very nice. It's wood trimmed metal shelving, which actually gives it more space in the interior. The shelves are fully removeable and I'm actually no using the bottom most shelf. I store my larger bottle on the bottom. Storage0wise it fits 28 750ml bottles with no problems. I'm actually surprised I a 15" dual zone unit could fit that many bottles. If you want to put larger bottles, just remove the bottom most shelf on either

The actual installation was easy enough and I actually had this put into my library/bar room. Fits well and appears to be ADA compliant with the height, not something I was specifically looking for but was fine with me. The lighting is very sleek. Never realized white LED lighting could look this fancy. Each zone has it's one lighting to it's adequately illuminated. Controls are easy enough and the display is fairly true to actuals based on some basic comparison I did with an oven thermometer. Both zones are pretty distinct and good at keeping their own set temps. The unit itself also runs fairly quiet. I do use the room as a study at times and have not noticed it running in the background. I did catch it cycling once, but it's for the most part subtle. Forgot to mention that the lock on the unit itself was a plus especially with teenagers in the house! The one negative I had was the clarity of the temperature display, slightly difficult to read in lowlight situations.

This is actually a interestingly premium type wine refrigerator that may not have every single refinement of your top end fridges but is certainly not lacking in style and performance. Given the relative price, this is actually a really decent buy.

I like the look of the unit!!! The maple finish on the drawers matches our cabinets to a tee.

My only issues are that it will not hold 28 regular sized bottles. It seems to be running all the time. It is a little loud when it is running.

The drawers seem a little cheesy.

For the price I still fell it was a good buy.

They may say 28 bottles, but the fine print is that they must be skinny bottles. Stack 3 one way and 2 the other for 5 racks and three on the bottom. Forgetta about it. I took the bottles I already have and was able to get three per rack for 5 racks and 3 more on the bottom. Expect to fit 18 bottles. Plus it was cramped. Some of the bottles were fat on the bottom and they barely fit vertically. The dual zone has the higher temperature in the upper zone and the lower zone for lower temperatures. So if you want to store red wine, you'll get to store 6 bottles in the upper zone. I was hoping to store more red than white. I'm probably going to stay with the highest temperature on the lower zone and similar temperature on the upper zone so really the dual zone didn't work for me. I'm going to make it low end for red and high end for white so basically it will be a one zone cooler. I must say, Amazon said I would get it on such and such a day at such and such a time and it did. That was impressive to me. It does have a bit of a hum to it, but maybe it's just because it's getting to the correct temperature. I was hoping for more quiet.

Cooler was deliver at about 9am I unpacked the unit & read that it should sit up right for 2 or more hours, I let the unit set until about 4pm, plugged it in & set the temps to 54 & 48 degrees, When I started the unit the display showed 68 degrees for both the upper & lower sections. two hours later the readings were 78 degrees for both levels, an hour after that the readings were 84 degrees for both levels.Obviously the unit was defective.

I called customer support & left a message (after hours) with a return phone number. When I did not receive a return call by noon the next day I call customer service again, & was told I had to E-MAIL tech support with the problem. That is where the nightmare started.....After sending the model # the serial # & my contact info along with what the problem was, I received a reply with instructions of how to start trouble shooting the defective unit..The instructions completely dis rearguard all the info I had sent describing the problem..My guess is the reply was a computer generated generic e-mail; push this; set that, check for leaks, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Isn't it the manufacture's responsibility to provide a service person to troubleshoot & repair their product when it is ONLY A FEW DAYS OLD!!!

I have NEVER heard of E-MAIL troubleshooting;especially with the customer doing the troubleshooting..... So unless you are prepared to spend DAYS e-mailing Customer Service@

Whynter Innovations Group don't buy from this company. If you do, & you have a problem, brush up on your typing skills....

GE MWF Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-Pack

GE MWF Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-PackShipped immediately, took it out of the box, ignored all the instructions and warnings as men do, unscrewed the other one, put this one in, filled up 2 big glasses of water to "flush it" and that was it.

Maybe 5mins worth of effort?

Not sure what else to say in a review of this item, worked great in our GE fridge.

This was the same filter I could have ordered from GE directly, but at a much better price.

This filter replaced the GWF filter in my regrigerator without any adapter or problem

The item exactly matches with original filter. The original filter is type GWF "Smart Water Plus" for GE refrigerator type PSS26LGRB WW.

It took hardly couple of minutes to replace the filter. We have observed the new filter for the last few weeks and we have not faced any problem so far.

I read some of the negative reviews and gave this a try anyway. Fearing that I may end up getting a used repackaged product (as mentioned in some of the negative reviews) I made sure to pick up a TDS* water meter/tester as well. Not only to make sure I got a new filter from this seller, but also so I can test the various liquids used around my home.

As I'd mentioned in my review for the TDS* water meter/tester, my tap water is hard so I used the baseline measurement (PPM's) of a bottle of Poland Spring water. My main concern about this filter or my refrigerator water line in general, was that it wasn't going to make too much of a difference drinking water from the tap versus one that came out of this filter. After my baseline measurements, my concerns were put at ease.

Below are results from my tests:

(measurements in PPM)

0-50 = Ideal drinking water

50-100 = Carbon filtered water

100-200 = Hard water

200-300 = Marginally acceptable

200-400 = Average tap water

400+ Very high TDS contaminant level

--My household baseline--

Bottle of Poland Spring = 18

Tap Water = 281

Gatorade = 260

5 month old filter from my refrigerator water line = 240

New filter from my refrigerator water line = 200

Melted ice (4 hours) = 293

So what did I learn from this... My tap water isn't too bad, this particular filter can probably go another month or two, and I really need to clean my ice maker. The good news is that this filter removed 80+PPM's of TDS* from my tap.

*TDS* Total Dissolved Solids are the total amount of mobile charged ions, including minerals, salts, or metals dissolved in a given volume of water.

Avanti EWC1601B 16 Bottle Wine Cooler, Black, Reversible Glass Door

Avanti EWC1601B 16 Bottle Wine Cooler, Black, Reversible Glass Door
  • Glass Door
  • Rev Door
  • wine racks
  • quiet vibration free
  • led interior lighting

I have had this wine cooler for about 5 years now and it still is working great. Which says something about this item. I love a product that is a good price and works as described and lasts for a good long while. It keeps the wine at a perfect temperature. I only store red wine in it, so I can't speak for white wine. I like the light in it as well, which I can turn off or on. I like that the temp. is also adjustable, so I set it on a warmer setting in the winter and a little cooler in the summer. I live in a very hot summer area and sometimes I am away for a week at a time, so my home gets very warm as I leave the air conditoner off while I am gone.

I also like that this cooler is NOT a refridgeratorit does not contain freon and does not use a compressor, so it is not an energy using applianceI never noticed a change in my electric bill, running this 24 hours a day for years.

The only negative I have seen in this item is that sometimes the fan in back is a little noisy, if you push the bottle of wine in the upper right corner too far back it jars the fan and it becomes noisyit is random, but since I have the cooler in another room it does not bother me. Most of the time it is very quiet.

This cooler is so great for the price, I am going to buy another.

A very nice, inexpensive 'beginner' wine refrigerator. Compact and handy. Received in a timely manner, in perfect shape. I bought another brand from a chain store, but prefer the Avanti.

I love my winecooler. An Italian friend from Veneto once told me that wine should be room temperature. I suppose that's room temperature in Treviso or Venice so this cooler is perfect. I could not keep wine in the refrigerator because it was too cold to enjoy, you really could not taste it, so this wine cooler is a great alternative. And it is a real bargain.

Want Avanti EWC1601B 16 Bottle Wine Cooler, Black, Reversible Glass Door Discount?

These thermo-electric wine chiller units can only be described as, "They are what they are." What they are is low cost basic technology, performing a normally high cost task reasonably well for a short time period at less cost than a full compressor unit. In my experience, I have had one Edge Star brand wine chiller, and two Avanti SWC 1600M-1 wine chillers over the past 3 years. All of these units work fine when they work... but they seem to fail after about 18 months. Some last longer, some will fail earlier in the year of warranty. Avanti customer service responds promptly to your problem. If the failure is within the one year warranty period, they will send you a new one rather than fix the failed one, or replace the one beyond the one year warranty completely if you purchased the lifetime extended warranty that some stores sell for these units. I strongly suggest that for this kind of wine chiller, you should purchase the extended warranty if offered. The performance evidence of this type of product seems to indicate that inevitably you will probably have to replace it when it fails after a year of operation.

If the unit is out of warranty, and you do not have the extended warranty, Avanti Customer Service will take care of you by sending you the inside electronic control board for no charge, or refer you to the nearest service center. The control board is easily swapped out... there is only one red and one black wire soldered directly to the board, and you can re-connect those wires simply with the extra length of wire that comes off the board without re-soldering them to the board. Also, there is a fuse in the board that could be blown. But the fuse is not easily replaceable... each end of the fuse is soldered to the control board. You can replace the fuse if you are minimally skilled at soldering. Leave the fuse on the control board. Solder wires to each end of the new fuse, and then solder each wire to the ends of the old fuse still on the circuit control board. Now you have created a new fuse bypass loop around the old fuse, with a functional new fuse ready to operate like the old one.

The economics is that if these units cost $110 or less when they are new, and last about two years, then you cool 16 bottles of wine for just $55 per year. The Avanti unit consumes only 1.1 amps of power at 83 watts... which is minimal electrical cost per year. If you buy a compressor type unit, you would consume way more power than that, and the $55 per year for the Avanti is probably comparable or less than the yearly electric bill of a compressor unit.

The durability of these thermo electric coolers is variable. Some last 5 years, others are short termers. It all depends on the environment you place them in and what outside temperature they have to cope with. The second Avanti I had just now died after 18 months of service. It's not just Avanti's product... I found that all of these "thermo electric coolers" don't last more than 18 months. You have to have them on surge protectors, because they are sensitive to power surges and failures. When the Avanti worked, it was fine and kept good temperature consistency. Avanti has the better technology... their internal "heat pipe" type temperature transfer method works much better that the standard thermo electric cooler technology consisting of an inside fan air cooled heat sink temperature transfer to an outside fan air cooled heat sink system.

My advice: If you want hassle free long term wine cooler durability and better temperature control, then get a real wine cooler with a compressor. The cost of a good compressor type cooler will use more electricity. Fortunately, Avanti will replace some of their thermo-electric cooler models if you are within the one year period of the warranty, or if you have the extended warranty. Actually, you never send back the broken cooler to Avanti. You just cut a three foot section of the AC power cord, copy the specifications label on the back of the cooler, and send both to Avanti. Within 2 weeks, a new Avanti wine chiller arrives.. the same model you had.

Avanti is now sending me the replacement circuit board, which I hope will solve the problem and salvage the unit. If not, I will again use it next to my first failed Avanti cooler as a fancy, attractive tool storage chest in the basement as a mate to the failed Edge Star cooler.

Nice wine cooler which works well and is attractive. I purchased two of the units one in April 2010 and the other in May 2010. The manufacturer's warranty is for a 12 month period. Too bad for me the first unit died after 18 months and the second one after 20 months. Surely one would expect more years of service than that. Now I am trying a different brand.

Frigidaire Gallery FGUI2149LE, Top Freezer, 20.6 Cubic Ft Refrigerator, Ebony Black

Frigidaire Gallery FGUI2149LE, Top Freezer, 20.6 Cubic Ft Refrigerator, Ebony BlackRecently I purchased this model refrigerator. DO NOT be fooled by the lovely exterior of this unit as I was. It looks beautiful with it's anti-finger print exterior & polished handles. BUT the interior is nothing but cheap plastic. The shelves are flimsy & poorly secured. Children's toys are made of higher quality plastic than the drawers in this "Refrigerator" from the "Gallery Collection". After 10 weeks the freezer door pops open when the refrigerator door is closed. A phenomenon the repair man calls "burping"....but it does not close after it "burps, resulting in defrosting of the food & ice crystals to build up inside. I am to get an energy star rebate at the end of the year but will have spent double that as it is extremely inefficient. Do not depend on the retailer to assist you. They refer you to a Frigidaire repair man and after that to the Frigidaire/Electrolux Company. They were unable to assist me in the return of this product. I will write to the CEO soon. Please beware when buying Frigidaire Products. They do not stand behind them and are of very poor quality.

Three months after purchase the freezer door pops open when you close the fridge. Bad design. I will contact the manufacturer. They need to make a fix.

Frigidaire Refrigerator Water Actuator Arm 241685703

Frigidaire Refrigerator Water Actuator Arm 241685703
  • THIS FRIGIDAIRE 241685703 WATER ACTUATOR WORKS WITH MANY FRIGIDAIRE, ELECTROLUX AND KENMORE
  • REFRIGERATORS
  • Works with the following models: Frigidaire FLSC238DB4, Frigidaire FLSC238DS8
  • Frigidaire FLSC238JS0, Frigidaire FLSC238JS1, Frigidaire FLSC238JS2, Frigidaire FRS6L9EFSS4

This is a substitute replacement for my Kenmore refrigerator actuator arm. Sears price was $87, but I got it from Amazon for $40. It fit perfectly and I received it in about three days from ordering. I dreaded installing it because it looked like I would have to tear into the water dispenser. My concern, what if I dismantled the dispenser, couldn't put it back together and then had to call Sears?! So, I gave it a try.

I removed the drip tray but there were no screws at the bottom of the module cover like the instructions indicated. I had to carefully pry out the bottom of the cover, then push down from the top and the cover popped off, no problem. One issue, the cover was still attached to the dispenser module by a ribbon cord. I couldn't figure out how to detach it so I left it on. The cover just dangled while unscrewed the three screws at the top of the module. I carefully wiggled out the module and pulled out the water tube. Then the module pulled out further so I could work on it.

I detached the red/black wire plug and had to cut it because it ran behind a little box. I unscrewed two small screws holding the broken actuator arm side prongs and then removed the broken arm. There was a spring arm that I had to make sure was in front of the actuator arm front prong. It allows the actuator arm to spring back so it's not constantly turning on the water. It was an easy thing to do.

Placing the water tube back in the water tube hole in the dispenser seemed impossible. I struggled with it for awhile then realized it would naturally go back into place as I screwed the module back on the refrigerator. It turned out to be simple once I realized the tube would just go back in place. I checked the water dispenser hole once I put in all the screws and I could see the tube was good to go.

The entire job was easy. It probably took me longer than most folks because I was very cautious and fooled around with the water tube way too long before figuring it out.

Easy job, saved me hundreds by doing it myself. To have a repairman come to the house would have been $100 just for the person to get to the house. Then if anything needed to be done, that would have been lots more.

This was an exact replica of the actuator arm I got quotes from Sears and other appliance stores nearby at more than double the amount. It did take me about an hr to figure out how to remove a few things around to install it but once I did, it felt good knowing I saved about $250 which is what some appliance techs wanted to charge me.

Quick shipping and perfect fit. Unfortunately, the fridge install was a bit more complicated than initially thought but the part was perfect and everything works just fine.

This item is super tricky to install. I'm slightly above average when it comes to home improvements. Found a you tube video that make it pretty simple. Just a lot of steps and probably took me 1 hour from start to finish.

Water Sentinel WSM-1 Replacement Refrigerator Water Filter, 4-PACK

Water Sentinel WSM-1 Replacement Refrigerator Water Filter, 4-PACKWe have purchased several of these for our refrigerator over the years and have found the cost savings from this particular seller to be great! The filters do their job as advertised and have helped us drink more water as a family due to not having the chemical or sediment taste in our water. Last Summer when we had a forest fire nearby our neighbors were complaining about the smoke taste of the water and we did not know about this until they said something. We tried our tap water and sure enough, it was not worth drinking.

The water Sentinel filters fit exactly into the same spot as the Maytag filters & cost much less. We've had one installed for a month now & the water tastes great. Don't waste your money. Buy these instead. No need to replace with Maytag & these are made in the US! Great product.

Danby Silhouette 166 Bottle Executive Wine Cellar

Danby Silhouette 166 Bottle Executive Wine CellarI did not buy this unit from Amazon (or the seller), but rather bought it locally. My first unit lasted about 6 months, and I thought it was great. Then it started to have issues. Temperature would reset itself to whatever it wanted. This was not good, but not the end of the world either.... Then it started to run constantly. I came down one morning to find condensation running off the front door, the temp read 39*F... Needless to say I had to turn it off right away. After 3 service attempts the unit was finally replaced. The replacement was not able to cool (just the cabinet with no wine) to anything cooler than 78* in ambient air temps of 77*...

I would highly recommend staying away from this product. I also found Danby very hard to deal with. The wait time was always over 30-minutes when calling their customer care.

I purchased this unit for its bottle capacity and dual zone ability at a reasonable price. Unfortunately you get what you pay for. I paid for a nightmare. The unit broke just before the warranty ran out. The warranty offers in home service. However none of the certified repair companies will make the trip to the house to look at it because "they arent paid enough by danby to make it worth their time". They were willing to look at it if i took it to the store but at 300 pounds i wasnt transporting it anywhere. So after 6 months and numerous phone calls and Danby not being unable to find someone to come to my house they replaced the unit.

The new unit that arrived had a large dent in the side and smelled funny on the inside. The replacement unit stopped working after 6 months. Now since the original warranty was passed they would not repair or replace the "replacement" unit. Now i am the proud owner of very large danby paperweight. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

Wish they had negative stars!

We purchased the Danby dual zone Wine fridge 2 1/2 years ago. Recently was not cooling, the temp control was registering over 60. The tech said that there was a leak, but cannot find it and would cost more than the unit to find the leak and fix. When I contacted the company to see if they would help with locating or finding a solution to this problem they said no. No only am I disappointed in this product but also the company, because they do not care about customer service. They do not even make this model anymore and I know why, because it has to be replaced every 2 years!

I don't even know where to start. Purchased the a 166 Bottle dual zone built in unit back in Sep 09 and had to have service make repairs 9 times on the unit and had to wait for periods of 3 months for Danby to actually ship the part. After a year of tier crap they offered to sell me a new unit and credit my card once I delivered the old unit back to them. The only good news out of this transaction was that my warranty was renewed back in Sep of 2010. Last weekend the new unit stopped cooling and the lights are flashing high which means that my wine collection is now in a hot box of 80 degrees..

Their "authorized" repairmen are jokes and have no clue on how to fix and diagnos problems. Danbys customer support in Canada is terrible and often very rude. Look at all of the reviews of this product and I honestly don't think you will find anything above a 2. Do yourself a favor and buy something else. These guys are clowns!

Want Danby Silhouette 166 Bottle Executive Wine Cellar Discount?

Bought this unit locally. Worked fine for about 8 months at which point I noticed an alarm going off when I walked in one day. Mine wine was at 79 degrees. Unfortunately 3 months later my wine is still at 79 degrees since 2 repair places were unable to fix it under warranty. Finally Danby called me today and told me that they 'no longer make this unit' and would give me a refund or let me choose 2 smaller units from their website.

I'm taking the refund, but I'm stuck with a heavy unit on the third floor and no easy way to get rid of it. Not to mention the ruined wine. Thanks Danby!

NewAir AW-120E 12 Bottle Thermoelectric Wine Cooler
  • Stores 12 bottles of wine
  • Easy to use push button controls
  • Digital temperature display
  • LED interior lighting
  • 3 chrome plated pull out shelves

My NewAir AW-120E quit cooling 18 months after I bought it brand new. I did not buy it from Amazon. Of course, the warranty is only 12 months. It was working fine one day, then stopped cooling the next day, even though all fans and lights looked normal. These units seem to have a reputation for failing after 1-2 years. I won't buy one again and do not recommend that you buy one unless you don't mind buying a new one every 1-2 years. BTW, I bought it with my platinum mastercard. MasterCard will extend the manufacturer's one year warranty to 2 years so I am making a claim with mastercard. We'll see how that turns out.

Purchased a Whirlpool Gold counter-depth fridge and not long after, noticed a crack in the liner. The fridge also leaks, periodically flooding the floor. Even with a supposed 5-year warranty, Whirlpool refuses to replace the fridge. Their U.S. head of customer service, Deborah, is both disinterested in customers, and apparently is well aware of this problem (BEWARE THIS PROBLEM EXISTS WITH ALL THEIR FRIDGES). She flat out told us she didn't care to do this, even though Whirlpool has had numerous complaints about this long-standing issue. Nor will she pass on the information to manufacturing or someone who can do something about the product. The best they will do is send out a service-person to put a sealant on the crack which will out-gas into your food and will not prevent moisture from getting into the insulation. If you are looking for reviews on this refrigerator, I'll go ahead and save you the trouble for any further research. Don't buy Whirlpool. After going through this learning experience of owning a very poorly made refrigerator, I've learned customer service is just as important as buying a good well-made appliance. Unfortunately, I got neither one.

One important fact to know about Whirlpool, they have no return/exchange policy. If you want to buy a Whirlpool product, make sure the business you are buying from has a good solid product guarantee program. If you go directly through Whirlpool, here's your warning...when your refrigerator ends up having issues, this could potentially end up being a very frustrating experience. They have 3rd party contractors they send out to fix your refrigerator. These guys have no incentive to get the job done on the 1st visit, they are paid per service call. Whirlpool's only option for a faulty appliance is to continue to send service reps to your house/business. They will continue to send techs until your warranty expires. This forces the consumer to settle with their purchase and be stuck with the product. If you get a faulty fridge, there's nothing you can do about it except calling it in and requesting service. Hope that you have no issues and if you do, hope that it requires one fix. I'll never buy another Whirlpool appliance again.

So if you're wanting reviews on this refrigerator in particular...we have a malfunctioning ice maker, light switch, ice/water dispenser, and the compressor literally started making funny noises about 2 hours ago. We've owned this fridge for 1 month so far.

Also, I read all the previous reviews and thought, hey! maybe mine won't be that bad. If you are like me, don't do it! Pass on this one.

First off I purchased this product back in Oct. 2011 and there were no reviews. This was a new model and the only reason I bought it was because my wife wanted counter depth and whirlpool to match all of our other appliances. We only had whirlpool in the first place because we moved into a new construction home and that's what it came with. The price was a little much for me but its what my wife wanted so even with no reviews yet I decided to purchase this unit, I mean its a whirlpool after all so it should be good right? Wow was I wrong. The fridge leaks water all over the place and I have walked into a flooded kitchen on more than one occasion. I called the repair man to come out and take a look at it and he can't figure it out. He has been coming out since Nov... its May now and the issue still isn't resolved. It has something to do with the ice maker. I have to leave it off so It won't flood my kitchen!! Whirlpool customer service keeps giving me the run around wanting the repair man to keep trying to resolve the problem before the send me a new unit. I just hope that a new unit will fix the problem. He has replaced all most all of the fridge and it still keeps pouring water over my floor. I'm beginning to think this model is a Lemon and that whirlpool knows it that's why they don't want to ship me a new one because it will have the same problems as this one.

Pros.... Looks Nice

Great for turning your kitchen into a swimming pool

Cons... Just about everything

Door plastic is cheep

Bins break easily

Ice maker doesn't work

Top shelf freezes products (but that's to be expected from this kind of setup)

My advice to anyone looking at this model. Avoid it at all cost its a 1800 dollar paperweight.

Want Whirlpool 25 Cu. Ft. Monochromatic Stainless Steel Side-by-Side Refrigerator - GSC25C4EYY Discount?

I almost didn't buy this fridge after reading the comments on this and other websites.

Even though I did not purchase through Amazon, this is the site with the most comments and I wanted to put this where others in my situation would see it.

Counter-depth fridge choices are limited, and if you don't want to spend an additional thousand dollars (or two!), then the options are really limited.

I have been extremely happy with my Whirlpool refrigerator. It is VERY roomy for a counter-depth. The LED lights are pretty and illuminate well. The stainless is a great look and the sides are gray, which blend in better than the black sides that some have. Magnets do stick to the front and sides. The shelves are glass with a nice lip to prevent spills, the plastic drawers feel sturdy. Operation is quiet. My ice maker works great, I like the smaller cubes. I have not had any issues with ice shooting onto the floor, or with things freezing on the top shelf. I did turn the fridge temp up 2 degrees since things were REALLY cold, since then I've had no issues.

Downsides ice maker is loud, especially when the bin is empty, you can hear every cube. Stainless smudges easily (duh).

Overall, this has been a great purchase. I'm sure there are some lemons out there, but after talking with numerous sales and repair people, I am reassured that Whirlpool has a pretty good repair record.

Handles didn't line up, new doors, then ice maker stopped so sent it back for replacement. Second arrived dented sent it back. Third unit no longer makes ice and the handles are coming off. No kids yanking on them, just a crap product. Luckily the place I bought it from is being responsive, and now offering me any other fridge.
