Vinotemp VT-12TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital 12-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless

Vinotemp VT-12TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital 12-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless
  • Freestanding wine chiller keeps up to 12 bottles properly chilled
  • Thermo-electric cooling system protects wine from unnecessary vibration
  • Ultra-quiet operation; does not use ozone-depleting chemicals
  • Energy-efficient dual-paned glass door; 3 pull-out shelves included
  • Measures 21-3/4 by 13-1/2 by 18-5/16 inches; 1-year limited warranty
  • Temperature range of 50-64 degree fahrenheit
  • Attractive wine cellar with black cabinent, dual pained glass
  • Pull out metal shelves for easy access to wine
  • For freestanding use only

VT-12TEDi stopped working after about six months; the common ticking sound from the controller board. After a little research, I found the 16V 1000uF 16mmx10mm capacitor (silver and black can) on the board (upper right corner) was bad. Visual indications are the typical "popped" top of the capacitor can. I purchased a higher quality replacement capacitor for less than $1 and replaced it. It was a very easy soldiering job that most people with a pencil iron could do. The unit works great now and I don't expect it to go out again anytime soon.

I have two of these Vinotemp 12 bottle wine coolers and like another review said, they were good while they lasted. When it worked properly the temperature range was 50 degrees to 66 degrees. Within two years both failed for the same reason. The cooling module is defective and did not last. For those who already have one of these models, I figured out how you can make it work down to about 52 degrees, including the light. Remove the seal around the inside of the door at the top and then remove the three small screws. Push all three of the colored connectors in tight and then remove the top white and yellow wire connector. As soon as you remove this wire the panel light will come on, but the inside light will not work. Re-attach the yellow wire only and the inside light will work. Now re-install the front panel and insert the door seal so it is tight. Your wine cooler will work, but it will take longer to cool down, in fact it may take days, but if the door is not opened and closed often, it will cool down to about 52 degrees. I contacted Vinotemp and they were not helpful at all. Their response was to buy a new cooling module for about $45-50. Based upon my experience and that of others here, I would not waste any more money on this model. I am quite sure the fix I described will work well enough to keep at least red wine and maybe some white wine cool enough to satisfy.

Mine broke about four months after I bought it. Instead of cooling my wines it heated them to over 90 degrees! Two bottles were ruined.

The company's warantee is only good for 90 days. I called and they said tough luck, not their problem. They do NOT stand by their product.

Whatever number of bottles Vinotemp says its wine chillers will hold, don't believe it. They don't allow enough space between racks to store the fatter bottles of Champagne and Burgundy wines. As a result, you have to remove the racks and stack the bottles atop each other. The top middle spot is also useless unless you have a skinny bottle of Riesling because the light fixture prevents you from putting anything fatter than that there. It's a nice unit and quiet. Just don't count on storing as many bottles as it says it can.

I looked at the Cuisinart 6-bottle (3 rows of two bottles) and 12-bottle (3 rows of 4) wine chillers and the 6-bottle unit is about as wide and tall as the Vinotemp 12-bottle unit (4 rows of 3). The Cuisinart wire racks are also sturdier, has adequate space between racks for the fatter bottles, and also has a stop on the end of the rack to prevent you from accidentally pulling the rack all the way out (which can happen with the Vinotemp rack). The Cuisinart unit I saw was not plugged in and operating so I don't know how quiet or noisy it is. But to me, the Cuisinart wine chiller seemed to be a better thought out design than the Vinotemp. And I've heard that the larger Vinotemp units have similar design flaws too.

I bought the Vinotemp at Pricesmart and was in love with it how it fit into my stainless steel themed kitchen. I was able to keep my red wine chilled correctly as here in the Caribbean most restaurants would serve you red wine at Caribbean room temperature.UGH! So I was happy for the past 11 months with my purchase until this past Saturday when I woke up to find the light off on my Vinotemp and a clicking noise coming from the back. I went into my office and called Vinotemp and was told to call back on Monday. So when I called on Monday and they told me I needed a new control board which would cost me $35 plus shipping. So while I wait for a quote on the shipping cost to me in the Caribbean I decided to do some research on the product and found all these reviews saying the same thing about it dying in less than a year and how they don't stand behind their product. So now I am shocked and horrified and wish I could find my Pricesmart bill and see if they had a one year warranty like Costco has in the USA as one reviewer said. Oh well as the old Confucious saying goes..."Cheap thing no good, Good thing no cheap!"

Whynter BWR-281DZ Dual Zone Built-In Wine Refrigerator, 28-Bottle

Whynter BWR-281DZ Dual Zone Built-In Wine Refrigerator, 28-BottleAs a previous Viking wine fridge owner, I've been spoiled. I wasn't expecting anything close given the fraction of the cost. I was duly pleased by what I got in this dual zone wine fridge.

The wine fridge shipped via freight which was a nice surprise. I would not have enjoyed receiving this delivery if had to get beat up by UPS package delivery. Scheduling the delivery ahead of time was also way more convenient than getting that annoying door tag when you miss the delivery. So it was off to a good start.

Packaging was plain but sturdy enough for the item. Handle bar had to be installed and was easy enough. Nice handle bar actually. Easy to grip with no sharp corners. The shelving is very very nice. It's wood trimmed metal shelving, which actually gives it more space in the interior. The shelves are fully removeable and I'm actually no using the bottom most shelf. I store my larger bottle on the bottom. Storage0wise it fits 28 750ml bottles with no problems. I'm actually surprised I a 15" dual zone unit could fit that many bottles. If you want to put larger bottles, just remove the bottom most shelf on either

The actual installation was easy enough and I actually had this put into my library/bar room. Fits well and appears to be ADA compliant with the height, not something I was specifically looking for but was fine with me. The lighting is very sleek. Never realized white LED lighting could look this fancy. Each zone has it's one lighting to it's adequately illuminated. Controls are easy enough and the display is fairly true to actuals based on some basic comparison I did with an oven thermometer. Both zones are pretty distinct and good at keeping their own set temps. The unit itself also runs fairly quiet. I do use the room as a study at times and have not noticed it running in the background. I did catch it cycling once, but it's for the most part subtle. Forgot to mention that the lock on the unit itself was a plus especially with teenagers in the house! The one negative I had was the clarity of the temperature display, slightly difficult to read in lowlight situations.

This is actually a interestingly premium type wine refrigerator that may not have every single refinement of your top end fridges but is certainly not lacking in style and performance. Given the relative price, this is actually a really decent buy.

I like the look of the unit!!! The maple finish on the drawers matches our cabinets to a tee.

My only issues are that it will not hold 28 regular sized bottles. It seems to be running all the time. It is a little loud when it is running.

The drawers seem a little cheesy.

For the price I still fell it was a good buy.

They may say 28 bottles, but the fine print is that they must be skinny bottles. Stack 3 one way and 2 the other for 5 racks and three on the bottom. Forgetta about it. I took the bottles I already have and was able to get three per rack for 5 racks and 3 more on the bottom. Expect to fit 18 bottles. Plus it was cramped. Some of the bottles were fat on the bottom and they barely fit vertically. The dual zone has the higher temperature in the upper zone and the lower zone for lower temperatures. So if you want to store red wine, you'll get to store 6 bottles in the upper zone. I was hoping to store more red than white. I'm probably going to stay with the highest temperature on the lower zone and similar temperature on the upper zone so really the dual zone didn't work for me. I'm going to make it low end for red and high end for white so basically it will be a one zone cooler. I must say, Amazon said I would get it on such and such a day at such and such a time and it did. That was impressive to me. It does have a bit of a hum to it, but maybe it's just because it's getting to the correct temperature. I was hoping for more quiet.

Cooler was deliver at about 9am I unpacked the unit & read that it should sit up right for 2 or more hours, I let the unit set until about 4pm, plugged it in & set the temps to 54 & 48 degrees, When I started the unit the display showed 68 degrees for both the upper & lower sections. two hours later the readings were 78 degrees for both levels, an hour after that the readings were 84 degrees for both levels.Obviously the unit was defective.

I called customer support & left a message (after hours) with a return phone number. When I did not receive a return call by noon the next day I call customer service again, & was told I had to E-MAIL tech support with the problem. That is where the nightmare started.....After sending the model # the serial # & my contact info along with what the problem was, I received a reply with instructions of how to start trouble shooting the defective unit..The instructions completely dis rearguard all the info I had sent describing the problem..My guess is the reply was a computer generated generic e-mail; push this; set that, check for leaks, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Isn't it the manufacture's responsibility to provide a service person to troubleshoot & repair their product when it is ONLY A FEW DAYS OLD!!!

I have NEVER heard of E-MAIL troubleshooting;especially with the customer doing the troubleshooting..... So unless you are prepared to spend DAYS e-mailing Customer Service@

Whynter Innovations Group don't buy from this company. If you do, & you have a problem, brush up on your typing skills....

Kenmore Kitchenaid Air Flow Diffuser 2209751

Kenmore Kitchenaid Air Flow Diffuser 2209751
  • Kenmore KitchenAid air flow diffuser 2209751

This item was an exact match for my existing KitchenAid fridge diffuser. The plugs and connectors were identical and it installed quickly with minimal fuss. This part appears to be OEM based on the packaging. The price for this item was better than any other on the web. I was able to replace this part in less time than waiting on a service call and for a fraction of the price as other vendors. It was another great Amazon experience thanks to this excellent vendor.

Whirlpool GI0FSAXVY Gold 19.8 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator - Ener

Whirlpool GI0FSAXVY Gold 19.8 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator - Energy StarPro:

The interior design is good. Holds pop cans and is very versitile for arranging the shelves how you want them. Good size.

Cons:

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! WHIRLPOOL HAS VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

The front right door dos not close properly due to an engineering flaw. Could be easily fixed but whirlpool does not care. They told me quote "That is just the way it is, live with it." Can you imagine! This is after 3 videos of the issue and a dozen phone calls to prove the problem.

Let me explain briefly.

The wing or flap that opens and closes on the left side door, holds the door open 1+ inches if not pressed firmly shut when closing. The inside door sensor reads as if it is shut and the alarm for the open door does not go off and the refrigerator stays open and gets warm inside about once a week if the last person to use does not check closely to make sure the doors are pressed firmly shut. This is BAD! Milk, meat, etc.. Now has half life. It stays open and just touching every day. Nobodies family is going to be taught to always firmly press the refrigerator doors to make sure they are closed tightly. Let's be realistic.

Anyway,

Do not buy this poorly engineered wreck. And do not buy Whirlpool brand because of their HORRIBLE Customer service.

TRUTH!!!!!

Culligan IC-100A Level 1 Icemaker and Refrigerator Dispenser Drinking Water Filter

Culligan IC-100A Level 1 Icemaker and Refrigerator Dispenser Drinking Water FilterI have used this filter in the past and ordered two replacements. This time, however, I was sent the Culligan IC-100A instead of the Culligan IC-100. The difference is, as I can clearly see on the boxes, the A does not contain the two fittings (adapters) that I need. Make sure that you receive the correct product before you put this away for future use (as I was going to do.) My order and my receipt both say IC-100 (no A) and since there doesn't seem to be a way to directly talk to Amazon or e-mail them, I'm just returning these. Problem is that in searching for the correct product on the internet, all links go back to Amazon -the Amazon cosmic loop.

I've been using this filter model for two years. I'm on my second unit. It works about the same as other inline filters I've used with regard to taste of the water. It seems not to last as long, but maybe my waster quality has changed, but it lasts long enough considering the price. I do like the quick connect fitting system. My filter is located in an awkward location, and not having to snug up compression fitting anymore to copper tubing is a big help.

I've read other reviews comment on black particles. You have to flush out the filter before you hook up the outlet end to your refrigerator. Just like any other filter. Maybe a gallon at most. I just do it until I don't see black particles coming out. The instructions say to do this as well, but I think it says to use more water. That's just CYA though.

I am not sure if it was something I was doing, but I bought two of these (one to install and one for backup) and while trying to put the first one in place, it broke (small thin plastic attachment onto my copper cable wasn't working). I was really glad I bought two then the second one broke too!!!

I decided to drink my water as it comes out of the ground forget the filterthese aren't worth it. (HOWEVER, they did refund me the entire price so this seller is reputable!!) Thanks for that guys!

While installing this icemaker water filter, one of the [optional] adaptors for compression nut ends snapped clean off. Now I must call customer service to see what can be done. Needless to say, I'm not pleased with the quality of this product.

I bought a two-pack for my Sub-Zero refrigerator. The older water filters used to come with brass nuts on each end but these new ones come with plastic ones. I over tightened and cracked the first one. This is probably my fault but would not have happened with brass nuts. Luckily, they come in pairs, so I installed the second filter without any problems. Next time, If I have a choice, I will choose a filter that is made with quality parts.

Frigidaire 241872513 Gasket for Refrigerator

Frigidaire 241872513 Gasket for RefrigeratorReceived item very fast. Was well packaged. Easy to install and fits and works perfect! Would highly recommend to change if your gasket has any cracks or tears, which could cause ur unit to frost over.

The gasket on my fridge had tears in it. I had decided to buy this because it didn't cost to much. It works great and my electric bill has been $50 less since I put it in. It was also very easy to install.

Not much to say about about a functional item such as this. A parrot had pecked both gaskets on my refrigerator and I needed to replace both. This was the best price, came in a timely manner, was easy to install and works so my experience was a good one.

Whirlpool WHIRLPOOL 2206934B DOOR HANDLE

Whirlpool WHIRLPOOL 2206934B DOOR HANDLE
  • THIS WHIRLPOOL 2206934B DOOR HANDLE WORKS WITH MANY WHIRLPOOL AND OTHER BRAND REFRIGERATOR/FREEZERS

Our fridge is the Kenmore Elite (made by Whirlpool) with black sides and what would normally be called 'black' plastic handles & trim. We had to return this part because it was very dark black and didn't match. We reordered the "gray" (J code) and that color matches. The gray is very dark charcoal gray, however. I'm giving 4 stars because it was impossible to tell the color difference from the pictures or the description.

Also, both boxes were ripped open at one end (delivered by USPS). The black-black one was loose in the box and fell out when I picked it up off the porch. The grey-black one had been wrapped in a UPS (not USPS) bag and jammed into the box so it wouldn't fall out.

Buy Whirlpool WHIRLPOOL 2206934B DOOR HANDLE Now

The part slides in after you slide off the trim above and below the old handle. It is the same exact shape so it would not be conspicuous if not for the fact that the color was noticably off (black instead of dark gray). This is the 2nd replacement handle I've installed in a little over a year. That and the fact that the Whirlpool condensor coils underneath are notoriously impossible to clean and remove dust (just Google 'how to clean dust from refrigerator coils) gives me the impression that these things were designed to fail to sustain the company. Oh well...

I've got a Whirlpool fridge with this stupid handle on it.. and in less than a year I've broken two of them. Sears wants between $50 and $75 a piece for these things, and shipping costs extra and takes two weeks. Why pay that money when you can get the same part here for half the money, and have it in hand in two days? I'd give this a 5-Star rating if I thought it had any better chance of surviving and not breaking.. but.. I know this is a flawed design.

  • Accommodates Full Sized Kegs
  • Conveniently Converts to a 5.8 cu ft Refrigerator
  • Includes CO2 Tank
  • Not rated for outdoor use

I purchased a Danby outdoor Kegorator (maker of Fire Magic) 4 years ago. I also purchased a 3 year extended warranty. The kegorator died before the first keg had been consumed. Over the next 2 years the kegorator died and was repaired 5 times by a factory authorized warranty repair. Danby finally admitted to me there was a design flaw that caused the printed circuit board to burn out. After 2 1/2 years when the warranty was almost up I suggested to Danby they return the purchase price and I would return the Kegorator. That is when they stopped replying to my emails. Do not buy there products!
