Avanti 1.7-Cubic Foot Beer Dispenser, Black W/Platinum Finish Door

Avanti 1.7-Cubic Foot Beer Dispenser, Black W/Platinum Finish Door
  • Dispenses 5 liter kegs
  • Compact size
  • Compressor cooling
  • Adjustable CO2 regulator
  • Holds two kegs

I have been saving for a personal 5L beer keg dispenser after seeing all my 'cool-friends' with the Heineken Beer-tender, but the reviews on their life-span turned out to be true (they quit if you keep a close to empty in the unit for more than a day or two) and I wanted something that operated differently.

I love this machine for the most part, and am working on making adjustments to the parts that are a miss for me. I love that it holds 2 x 5 Liter kegs and the accessories that come with the machine will allow you to use virtually ANY 5L keg style out there: Co2 pre-charged kegs like Heineken and Newcastle as well and any un-charged keg. The fact that this is an actual fridge protects the item from conking out because of a no-load melt-down like the other dispensers I have experience with.

Now the misses on this unit; this is a fridge and it boasts a glass shelf to chill your beer glasses. This is included and a really cool idea, however the shelf is way to close to the top of the chiller for anything taller than a shot-glass and so is pretty much useless for any practical use. Maybe someday I'll find some glasses that fit in there but right now I just can't make it work.

Next miss, and this is the biggest one; the pour spout looks very large and so you would think the flow of the brew would be almost as fast as a bar tap. Unfortunately this was very far from reality. The handle uses a 3/16" ID vinyl tube identical to the kind used in an aquarium aerator pump. The pour is excruciatingly slow! The tap handle works by pinching the tubing within the plastic spout but there is room for a slightly bigger tube. Today I went to a local hardware store and picked up a 1/4" ID vinyl tube and installed it,(after sterilizing) this helped quite a bit but is still way too slow for my taste. The speed is slower than the included tap on a Heineken 5L for reference. I will continue to work on this and it is usable, just a sticking point for me but NOT a reason avoid this machine.

The LED light is a cool idea, but that is about as much effort as they put into it. The light can be seen if you look through the window, but doesn't light up the fridge interior unless all the external lights are off in the room. In fact I forget it's on some times and leave the room because I can't tell that it's doing anything by just glancing at it. LED's run cool and it's a great idea, just no follow though on this.

The temperature adjustment is very cool(no pun intended) and even though the fridge settings bottom out at 38 degrees, the fridge is normally sitting at 36 degrees making very tasty beer.

The door is not reversible as described in the product features, the latch is molded on the door and cannot be opened from the right side.

Co2 control seats well and is easy to setup and adjust.

Overall I am really pleased with this product and do recommend this to others as a more reliable alternative to the Beer-tender, but I recommend it most for those who are home-brewers and aren't afraid to 'tinker' with the tap handle to get a better flow. I am most excited about the home-brewing aspect of this products versatility, as I myself have just started a batch of Oktoberfest home-brew and just ordered a Keg 5 Liter Party Keg with Tap for Homebrew and am beyond excited to have my brew on tap for my friends instead of passing out bottles.

I bought this on a whim. I had been thinking about putting my homebrew in kegs but didn't want to deal with the expense and complication of a kegging system and a kegerator. As I looked at this I saw that it could substitute for the mechanics of that system as long as I could get my homebrew into mini-kegs. The good news is that it can be done, the bad news is that mini-kegs seem to be in high demand and low production so there will be a wait for the empty kegs to get started. In the mean time I have substituted a pre-made mini keg. I chose one that is not of the pre-charged variety (Heinekin, New Castle) as my own will not be pre charged.

The good: The setup was easy and installing the first mini-keg was as easy as tapping and putting in the fridge. There is space to keep some glasses on the shelf, although not much, to have a chilled vessel to contain your brew. The unit looks sharp and will give you some bragging rights when your buddies are over for football. The ability to store a spare is a great feature. It is pretty cool to have a nice, cold, draft beer from the comfort of your family room/man-cave.

The not so good: The draft tube to the front of the unit is a pretty small diameter. It takes about a minute or so to fill a standard pint glass. This isn't a deal breaker, but when the previously mentioned buddies line up, that pour time takes the shine of the apple, a bit. The unit looks sharp, but on closer inspection, chrome parts turn out to be shiny plastic and the unit overall has a bit of a cheap feel.

The bad: The unit is noisy, not off the scale, but distracting when it kicks on during a movie. The regulator system is SUPER cheap. I had to add an o-ring to keep my cartridges from losing pressure (I wasted 3 in 3 days before I figured it out). The knob to adjust the pressure just keeps going tighter, sometimetimes with no result, other times by over presurizing the mini.

I would say that overall this unit will perform as advertized, just don't expect to be blown away.

Picked up mine last year post x-mas. Still love it!!! Do have some difficulty in NJ finding gravity kegs though. I keep two kegs in it at all times...usually a Heiniken or New Castle and then another that is run off of the coolers co2 system. I have found the 9oz co2 canisters work the best. The 16 grams tubes tend to leak unless u apply a little pipe tape. I was surprised that the 16g are not threaded, it would work much better.

Was originally drawn to the unit for its 2 keg size and because the cooling system is actually run off of a compressor and not a thermal cooling plate. Had one of them a few years ago and it burned out pretty quickly as most of them seem to do.

All in all it seem to work like a charm...highly recommended!!

I've had this product for over a year now. I got it because I am a homebrewer, but don't have the space in my apartment to go to a full 5-gallon keg sytstem.

Don't bother trying to use the 16 g CO2 cartridges the o-ring seal on the attachment-nut piece is cheap, and will not properly seal the cartridge. Therefore you'll go through tons of the cartridges, and wind up with a lot of flat kegs of beer. I use a standard 12oz and 20 oz paintball canister that you can get at Dicks or off of amazon which scews into the regulator directly. You can still get the 20 oz canister to hang from the hangar on the inside of the door but you won't be able to fit two kegs.

The faucet that comes with the unit works fine the tubing is 1/8" ID, which does make for a deliberate pour, but smaller diameter tubing can also help to reduce foam. I wound up modifying the door so that I could install a bar-quality tap faucet from a homebrew supply store and use cornelius-style kegs (also from a homebrew supply store), but the existing faucet gets the job done.

The one thing that I can't modify is the noise that this thing makes when the compressor kicks in. It is very noticeable, especially if you have it in a room where you watch tv.

Overall I am happy with this product, it only gets three stars because the 16 g co2 cartridge option just doesn't work reliably, and the noise.

Save 38% Off

I ordered one of these units with an adapter for non-Heinekin kegs about two weeks ago. It was easy to set up and looks pretty much exactly like the the picture.

PROS:

The refrigerator is large enough to hold two standard-sized mini-kegs. If you mix up 5-gallon batches like I do, that's enough to store about 2/3 of the total batch. I force-carbonate and bottle the remaining beer.

My unit is relatively quiet and unobtrusive and the temperature controls work well.

It's small enough that I can move the unit to a different room if I want it to be available for a party.

CONS:

The regulator is TERRIBLE. The plastic knob of the regulator valve came off of its threading the first time I used the system and I had to superglue it back on. Then it broke off again a week later. The regulator also immediately developed a fairly serious leak, so I was blowing through CO2 cartridges. I eventually got a better regulator and the system works fine. However decent regulators are relatively pricey.

The system doesn't carbonate the first third or so of a mini-keg very well. There tend to be a lot of foamy bubbles that dissipate quickly and leave the beer slightly undercarbonated (but still quite drinkable). A lot of this probably has to do with the small exit tube attached to the tap. If the tube had a larger diameter, the fluid would exit less quickly and the beer wouldn't decarbonate as much.

All in all, I'm glad I have the dispenser because I don't make enough beer to warrant a full-size kegerator and the mini-kegs that this system uses are perfect for my needs. However, I would have much rather paid a few extra dollars to get some high-quality force-carbonation parts instead of the cheap regulator and tubing that came with this system. If you buy this system, you may have to tweak it with extra parts in order to get it to work to spec.

GE GTH16BBXRWW 15.7 cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator with Right Hand Door - White

GE GTH16BBXRWW 15.7 cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator with Right Hand Door - WhiteAfter attempting to post this review several times on the GE Appliance site, amazingly, my brutally truthful review could not get past the Communist Party Leader Censors manning the product review department at GE...

Well, GE...this review should reach a lot more folks than that lame review page for this product on the GE website, so through your censorship activity, you only shot yourself in the proverbial foot. Touche yet again to moronic middle management.

GE should be ashamed of itself for having the arrogance to sell this appliance for a retail price of $579, or more, and not even including the freezer shelf for which GE demands another $45 to purchase separately! I thought this might not pose a major problem, but in practice, when filling up the freezer compartment, due to its awkward dimensions, the shelf is actually a necessity rather than a luxury. Furthermore, the refrigerator "runs" constantly. The owner's manual claims this is "normal" for the first 24 hours, but I have had this thing for a month, and it hasn't stopped running. I can't wait to see my electric bill. The 20+ year old appliance this unit replaced only ran sporadically, and maintained its internal temperature quite well. Finally, the interior shelf spacing is extremely poorly designed, and only adds to the inefficiency of this appliance, here with respect to maximizing storage.

Bottom line this appliance is in no way worth the cash required to purchase it, and I would recommend steering clear.

Thanx, GE, for your outstanding customer oriented business model NOT. You're a joke.

Never again. Mess with me once, shame on you. You will never have a second chance.

Kegco Standard 2 Product Tower Kegerator Conversion Kit with 5 lb. Co2 Tank

Kegco Standard 2 Product Tower Kegerator Conversion Kit with 5 lb. Co2 TankThe kit is very well made and pretty solid. Few glitches: didn't come with the instructions and the faucet connection inside the tower was loose causing tons of foam and hours of trouble shooting. With some hardware from home depot and watching a few how to videos on youtube this is a pretty easy install and a great bbq addition.

I got this set for around 200 bucks and for the past year I have been very impressed with it. All the materials are pretty heavy duty and well made. The regulators for the CO2 and the keg connectors are pretty hefty, as well as the 5lb bottle.

I haven't had to fill the CO2 bottle more than once (I keept it at about 12-14 psi) and I have gone through five 1/4 kegs and one 1/2 keg. Also, a lot of people have questions about where to fill up their CO2 bottles...I use a fire safety equipment supply store and it costs me $20. If that doesn't work, look for industrial gas suppliers or even a paintball supply store.

The tower comes with a styrafoam insulation so the beer in the lines doesn't get warm in the summertime. If you are serious about building a kegerator, make sure you also get a cleaning kit. Whenever you replace a keg you could clean the lines and equipment. Also, since the CO2 is injected at the tap on the keg, make sure you dump out the first glass you pour (the beer that has been sitting in the lines and has gone flat).

The only reason I didn't give this set five stars is because it doesn't come with instructions, and I have made a mess in my kegerator more than once by reassembling it the wrong way.

All in all, if you are looking for a solid setup, go with this kit. Over the past year it has paid for itself considering I don't have to go out and buy 12 or 24 packs of beer anymore.

Danby DCR122BSLDD 4.3 Cu. Ft. Designer Compact Refrigerator - Black/Stainlees Steel

Danby DCR122BSLDD 4.3 Cu. Ft. Designer Compact Refrigerator - Black/Stainlees Steel
  • 4.3 cu.ft. (121.8 litre) capacity compact refrigerator
  • Reversible door hinge for right or left hand opening
  • Independent freezer section
  • Manual (push button) defrost
  • CanStor beverage dispenser holds 8 beverage cans

Fridge seems nice. It looks nice and is well laid out allowing full use of it unlike most fridges which cause you to waste a lot of space.

The packaging is HORRIBLE (see customer images where I have attached them). The is almost like a sleeve to the fridge with just small Styrofoam around just the corners. My box had no signs of damage, yet it has 6 dents on the back edges and the hinges were bent. I had to take the hinge brackets off and hammer them back into shape for the door to even stay on. And now my door is slightly off center, but at least it opens and closes properly and doesn't fall off any more. REALLY PATHETIC PACKING. Its shipped from manufacturer though, not Amazon so its not eligible for packaging feedback.

I dont live in the US and it was forwarded in a shipping container and it would cost me more to return it than it cost me to buy it. So I'm keeping it, but I guess those of you in the US can return it if it comes damaged.

Fridge is a little noisy when you first plug it in, but it quiets down after a few minutes and there after is not noticeable.

Would be 5 stars if not for packing.

This mini fridge was a gift for my boyfriend. He wanted a fridge with enough space for at least a gallon or two of milk, while I wanted enough freezer space to fit a pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. We got both! Great space, easy-adjusting shelves, the whole shebang! Highly recommended.

Under-Counter All-Refrigerator all

Under-Counter All-Refrigerator all
  • U.L. Listed
  • ETL Sanitary Approved (to NSF-7)
  • All-refrigerator
  • Fully automatic defrost
  • Adjustable thermostat

You can easily buy one of these for under-counter mounting and assume that it will not require breathing space around the top. In fact, this refrigerator requires 5 centimeters (slightly over two inches) clearance above the top to allow the rear coil (yes, rear coil) to breathe. This means that there must be a ventilation gap somewhere around the top. If you're putting it under a counter top that has no gap around the top, back, or sides, you may require that gap over the front of the refrigerator (as you've often seen with cheap hotel refrigerators) -but don't stop now, read on.

There is one possible work-around that you may want to consider. Let's assume that the wall directly behind is not an exterior wall (and is not stuffed with insulation. You can cut a two-inch horizontal slot in the drywall just below the countertop, but above the coil, so that the coil heat can escape into the wall. If you can then vent that wall space between the studs at some equal or higher point, you should be okay. A slot can also be cut to the side and above. The key is that the vent slot must be higher than the coil and the heat must ultimately have a path to rise and escape rather than just building up in the wall. The wider the slot, of course, the better, assuming that the slot leads to vented space.

In summary, my one-star rating has nothing to do with whether this is a good reliable refrigerator. My concern is that this unit costs three times as much as a free-standing model, yet it requires coil ventilation. (I'm sure that Summit would say that this is a commercial model that isn't expected to be trimmed in flush.) I'm hoping that I'll forewarn prospective buyers to plan for ventilation before they buy, not afterward like I did.

Koolatron WC24 Black 24 Bottle Digital Temperature Control Dual-Zone Wine Cellar

Koolatron WC24 Black 24 Bottle Digital Temperature Control Dual-Zone Wine Cellar
  • Free-standing, flush back design
  • Uses thermoelectric cooling technology - no noisy compressor
  • Easy digital temperature controls, in °c and °f- upper zone 7°c - 12°c (45°f - 54°f)- lower zone 12°c - 18°c (54°f - 64°f)
  • Capacity: 24 bottles x 750ml (25fl.oz.)
  • Features double panel glass doors, removable shelves and double panel glass doors

The product works well so far, is quiet, and I like having two zones. However, I didn't realize that it would be predetermined where red and white will be with temperature ranges pre-set for each. I like white more than red and this refrigerator is geared to more red than white.

It arrived dented on the left and right sides. This was highly disappointing.

Buy Koolatron WC24 Black 24 Bottle Digital Temperature Control Dual-Zone Wine Cellar Now

I got this wine cooler as a Christmas gift for my wife in 2011 and it started crapping out shortly after the 90 day warranty expired. I've waited so long to write a review because I wanted to contact Koolatron's support before I made a decision on the product/support.

First, the lower/larger compartment quit working after about three and a half months. I had to move all of our reds into the original cooler that was not being used.

Next, the upper/smaller compartment quit working about a month and a half later. With both compartments, no matter where I set the temp, it wouldn't change.

Finally, about their customer service. It took so long for me to contact them because they're only available 8AM-4PM Eastern. I work 8-5. Being a tech myself, I wanted to be in front of the cooler in case there was something they wanted me to visually inspect. After being on hold for about fifteen minutes, I got to speak to a live rep. I explained why I was calling and she simply said "Well, It could be the chip or the board. We sell the chip for around $78 and the boards are (I don't remember the cost but it was too high). You're better off finding them locally. You'll probably be able to get a price on them if you can find someone who services 12V appliances, like, an RV dealer." That's ridiculous.

Now, all I have for the couple hundred dollars I've spent is a fancy glass, chrome and black stand for my original wine cooler. Which by the way is an 18 bottle Emerson that's still running strong.

I work TOO hard for my money to EVER throw it away on another Koolatron product!!!

I hope this review is helpful in your making a decision on, at least, which products to avoid.

We really like the Koolatron. Since we drink more red than white the larger red section works well for us. We recently had the top section stop cooling and Koolatron sent us a replacement part for free. Great customer service!

Want Koolatron WC24 Black 24 Bottle Digital Temperature Control Dual-Zone Wine Cellar Discount?

It is beautiful, but the temperature is hard to control... it never keeps the setting you choose; it always stays a couple of degrees higher or lower from what you set it to be, but it worked. Now, only 8 months after I purchased it, it stopped working. When I looked at it, the temp was 70 degrees and not cooling any more. :( Very disappointed!

It is a beautiful unit as well as the duel function for both red and white wine and easy to set up..

Whirlpool 25.0 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator - GZ25FSRXYY

Whirlpool 25.0 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator - GZ25FSRXYYWe are very satisfied with purchase. We did not get from Amazon, I often go here to look at reviews on big items like this. It is very big, plenty of room. Love the middle drawer. The owner's manual said you can use it for: 1. items you use most often, saves energy from opening a small drawer versus the 2 french drawers. 2. for kids, the things they use most often, they can serve themselves. 3. fruits and veggies. The freezer holds more than I expected, like the basket shelf at the top. A review on another site mentioned she had to lay her juices down, but we found the shelves to be quite adjustable, we can fit a pitcher and large juices on the bottom left of the fridge. Also like that a gallon of milk fits is the door. The icemaker is small, but we don't use tons of ice anyway. All the controls are on the outside. We like the feature that premeasures water for your special water bottle, or for cooking (read manual to calibrate before using feature).

This unit is great. It handles what a family of 5 needs. The ice maker is perfect for our family, not sure what the other person had a issue with. It holds up to 10 lbs of ice and keeps up with our busy family. This is a great frig, and would highly recommend this.

You can pick up this fridge for about $1,500 as it often goes on sale.

So far everything appears to be wonderful for us with this unit. As for the ice maker the manual states that you should expect your first batch of ice in 24 hours. Ours dropped in about 6 hours (only a few cubes), but after that a it produced a lot of ice. Water quality and temperature settings can affect ice production, but there are no problems to report here..so don't get scared by other reviews claiming otherwise.

Engel TSL17 Transit Slide-Lok For MT17F-U1 Fridge Freezer

Engel TSL17 Transit Slide-Lok For MT17F-U1 Fridge FreezerI actually have the sister unit for the MT-27 but the design is the same. I mounted mine in the back of a 2-door Ford Explorer, where the smaller Engel units fit nicely in the space available and leave room for other cargo. This base maximizes the effect by avoiding needing to runs straps. The main reason I wanted to do this review is to include a photo from the box that illustrates the single-point latch mechanism. It shows a mounting screw in the "wing" although the small bases use four 1/4" flathead screws along the track that the cooler feet slide along.

Samsung RSG307AARS 29.6 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Side-By-Side Refrigerator - Energy Star</

Samsung RSG307AARS 29.6 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Side-By-Side Refrigerator - Energy Star
  • Premium External Filtered Water And Ice Dispenser
  • Automatic In-Door Ice Maker
  • Dual LED Tower Lighting In Refrigerator And Freezer
  • Dimensions (WHD): 35 3/4" X 69 1/2" X 36 3/4"

I have owned this large fridge for about 9 month now and couldn't be happier. I works great at keeping my food fresher longer, vegatable last around 50% longer if I had to put a number on it. Its has vents on each shelf to ensure adequate airflow everywhere. The freezer has never had any frost develop, not even a drop. Unlike the other review the ice maker works flawlessly creating around 5+ pounds a day. I have two friends that own high end LGs and I like this icemaker more than any of theres. There comes with an LED touch screen, but about $1000 more in price too. The wine rack on this one is a nice touch for keeping some whites around the house.

The only complaints I have is large tall items like a gallon of milk can only be put in the door. Obviously you could adjust the shelves, but this would result in one of them becoming uselessly small. This isn't a huge problem as we just keep large items in the drawer, but still an adjustment from most fridges I am use too. Also the ice drawer has a steep learning curve. After a couple month me and my wife can get it on and off on the first try.

Pros:

+Huge, great for large families or entertaining.

+Great air circulation keeps item fresh and clean.

+Effective ice maker

+Mostly a great fridge layout

+Cheap for what it offers

Cons:

-Only large items fit in fridge door.

-Ice drawer not the easiest to get in and out.

Overall, five stars as this unit has little room to improve.

Buy

First impression....incredible space!!! We just traded in our hopelessly small 23 cu.ft. for this 30 cu.ft. hercules of a refrig. I actually have a separate

shelf for my fish, chicken, pork and beef and yet another for ice cream and desserts plus pizza...you can't get any better than this. Be aware, I'm 5'6" and this refrigerator is DEEP and i will have to stand on my toes to reach the back of the upper shelves on the freezer and refrig sides. Also, with the back lighting

you will find that you put things on the shelves in a different order. I put all my "mexican" related items on the far right, top shelf..salsa's, taco sauce, cheese sauce, etc; and then next to that pesto, and so on over to the far left so that i can now calculate exactly where i'm going in my new refrig. sure it will taking

some getting used to and training my attention deficit husband but I LOVE THIS REFRIGERATOR. If you need extra hight besides the side doof area for things like extra jugs of cranberry juice, etc; then just remove the wine rack and move that second shelf up to it's top slide in and i had no trouble fitting those jugs in there...even the glass iced tea container! Now for the incredible part, yeah it gets better...we buy the container of "3 times rinsed" lettuce from the market..not those disgusting bags of lettuce, this container stuff is great but it ate up the whole drawer in the other frig...not in this one! Not only does this rectangular lettuce container fit but also my chopped almonds & walnuts, avocado's and tomatoes, shredded cheese and feta cheese container and i still have space for more! I'm in HEAVEN. PLUS, there is a separate drawer for cheese's, sliced meats and butter, bacon, etc AND still another for fresh fruits and vegetables that is also of such an incredible size that i can't say enough about how impressed i am. I don't understand the complaints about back lighting, which is so trivial compared to all the plus's you get with this unit. Yes the ice maker is maybe a bit slower to make cubes than my small pathetic former refrig, but it's more than adequate unless you are hourly going to the frig to get multiple glasses of ice. come on now...you want a Hercules of a refrigerator that looks great and gives you all this and you are really going to complain because the ice bucket doesn't fill up in a few minutes? Well i'm going to go back down to my kitchen and admire my beautiful, sleek,

incredible new refrigerator...and maybe yet again, open it up and be amazed at all that space that still is not used up. Can't wait for the Holiday's now!!!

Read Best Reviews of

i have no complaints about this refrigerator and highly recommend it. I've only had it for a few days but have been impressed thus far. the size and features are great. I saw a review that complained about the lighting, I think the lighting is outstanding.

Want

So far, this 'fridge has been worth every penny. No issues to speak of and the premium features are fantastic. There could be a nit or two, but they aren't worth mentioning because the overall experience this fridge provides more than compensates. Great buy.

I purchased this fridge a year ago. I love the size, I can finally get everything in. My complaint is that the temperature is on the lowest setting, 34 but I have a thermometer which says the fridge is 40. I have to throw things away all the time milk, mayonaise etc.. The other problem which is really annoying is the lights. I wish there was some way to turn them up. When you see it on the showroom floor it is empty so it seems bright enough, but once you start putting items in, it blocks the light because they are along the back two thin strips. I tried buying some led lights and stuck them in there to be able to see better but they didn't last.

Liebherr CS1640 30 Inch Bottom Mount Refrigerator

Liebherr CS1640 30 Inch Bottom Mount RefrigeratorBought our 30" CS1640 in July 2009 from an appliance dealer in Bellevue, WA, for the same amount advertised here on Amazon. We live in an unincorporated area 32 miles east of Seattle, Wa.

Likes: The height, style, overall appearance and accessibility inside the refrigerator are really great.

Dislikes: The refrigerator does not "cool" to the appliance temps that USA citizens are accustomed to. Everything stored in the refrigerator spoils in half the time that the problem occurs in US-manfuactured refrigerator/freezers. The ice maker produces minimal amounts of ice; has never filled the entire ice maker bin, as US oriented refrigerator/freezers do. In addition, 2 months ago, one week to the day after the 2-year warranty expired, the interior around the bottom freezer drawer began freezing up. At first, I didn't understand what was happening, then I discovered a full layer of thick ice build-up. That's when I contacted our dealer for a service call. That's when I learned that Liebherr controls all service calls from their service center in Scottsdale, Az. And that's when I experienced perhaps the poorest customer service I've ever had with an appliance, and I've been buying appliances for 40 years. Not only did the rep inform me (without benefit of a service call to analyze the issue)that my issue would not be covered by the warranty; she referred me to (3) service providers who are not licensed and bonded as businesses in the State of Washington. When I called back to get more providers, I was told they could not help me! And I bought this refrigerator because of Liebherr's commitment to the environment, promise of excellent service, etc.

Bottom Line: Had I known then what I know now, I would not have made an investment in this product.

EdgeStar 103 Can and 5 Bottle Extreme Cool Beverage Cooler - Stainless Steel

EdgeStar 103 Can and 5 Bottle Extreme Cool Beverage Cooler - Stainless Steel

Had the 118 can refrig for 1 month. Couldn't handle the whistle from the compressor. Had to pay to send it back. They said they didn't hear a thing. It was returned damaged. Cost me $110 extra for all this and now I have to get rid of it. I have to turn it off in order to speak with my guests. I turn it off when I'm in the room. When I talked with the service people on the phone, they said if they exchanged it I would probably still have the same problem... Don't buy any edgestars

This beverage cooler is NOT SILENT. The compressor was defective. It started making noise not long after I got it but I didn't seem to mind...as time went on the noise got louder and louder. Now, past the 90 day warranty, I have to turn the TV up everytime the refrig goes on thats how loud it is. Dave S. from Customer Service does not stand by it's product given I purchased a DEFECTIVE COMPRESSOR. Same story as first review. I would have to pay $250 to return the refrig. Most appliance repair cost $70 to come look at it. Even thought parts are covered for a year, Edgestar will not send me a new compressor unless a licenced Technician makes an assessment AND Edgestar agrees with it. Then they will send the part to the technition to fix BUT WILL NOT PAY FOR LABOR!....So, you buy a crappy product and you're SOL and they couldn't care less. !! DO NOT BUY EDGESTAR.

"ZERO STARS!" I purchased this Edgestar 118 Can Beverage Refrigerator 14 months ago. What a mistake. Don't be fooled by it's good looks, glass door, etc.

It just stopped working. Dead....nothing! Besides that, it was always noisy when it worked. The warranty on this product is only for 90 days. One year on parts. So I called them, and they will not do anything. Even if it was within the one year you would have to send it to them, which will cost quite a bit in shipping costs. I called around to many appliance repair centers and none of them were even interested in looking at it for repair.

I realize that the unit is out of warranty, but shouldn't something that you pay good money for last more than a year??

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!

Seen a couple other reviews on here sharing similar stories.

Add mine to the list.

Beautiful mini-fridge. Durable quality case/door. Everything appears nice, and I was really happy when I got it. I didn't notice the noise problem a few on here have mentioned. Mine was pretty quiet.

Holds a LOT of beers/pop/etc.

But, sure enough...1 month after my one year warranty expired, my unit died.

It's almost too expensive to fix...but too nice to throw out.

I have a repair company coming out tomorrow who said they'll fix it for $150. But to buy another new one, I'm looking at $300..

I guess I'll just chalk it up and think of it as a $400 fridge.

Shame the cooling parts break so much, cause otherwise..it really is a nice fridge.

But no matter how nice...the fact that it broke and I have to have it repaired, cause me to give it 1 star.

Whirlpool Kenmore Refrigerator Filter Housing Cap 2186494W

Whirlpool Kenmore Refrigerator Filter Housing Cap 2186494W
  • Genuine OEM replacement filter cap
  • For fridges with a white grille

Have to replace the old filter on a Kitchen Aid and the old cap was already broken. This new one fits in perfectly, except that the color (bright white vs creamy white) doesn't match exactly. It's much easier to turn than the original one.

I ordered this cap and it works just fine. It is a factory replacement cap. The challenge was that it is recessed into the grill. That limits the access your fingers have when turning the filter, making this a frustrating and time-consuming process!

What to do? Partially remove the grill. Pull the grill down and away at the right corner. Continue pulling the grill away and work this separation toward the area of the filter. What you are trying to do is gain separation between the grill and base of the fridge. When you do, open the freezer door and slide your fingers on to the cap (your fingers should be between the grill and fridge at this point). You won't have a lot of space, but it is more than just trying to twist the filter cap when it is recessed from the outer part of the grill.

Since I have to use pliers to turn the cap to get the filter out the cap gets all beat up. This cap will come in handy when I have to change my old beat up cap.

It's hard to know what to say about a cap it's just a cap after all but this one is exactly as described and replaces my damaged one just fine. This is a pass/fail kind of product, and it passes.
