I bought a 3 pack of these and could not be more dissatisfied. The water tasted horrible (extremely chemically) from the very first glass (after the 3 minutes flush that was recommended). I used the first filter for about 1 month and the horrible taste was just as strong as the first glass. I am throwing this one (along with the other 2 that came in the pack) away. I went to Best buy and bought a factory Frigidaire filter and the water is back to tasting amazing, crisp and clean. If you shop around online you can find factory filters for less. But remember, you get what you pay for. This has been a $23 lesson to never buy cheap water filters.

we saw the positive reviews here and thought 'how bad can it be?' well let me tell you *beyond bad it's awful*. we have had our Frigidaire fridge for 5 years. used pure source filters from an online filter vendor since. this time, when i stumbled upon the RG100 generic filters here, read some positive reviews (and especially noting the price), i decided to give it a shot. result was a week of awful tasting water that did not improve with continued use. we tried to be patient with these filters. thought they would improve with time. but we ended up pouring gallons of water down the sink in vain. it got to the point that when a guest asked for a glass of water the other day, i felt embarrassed to pour her some. well lesson learned. now i know the $30 expense for the pure source filter is well worth it. we replaced these with said filter from a local store this weekend. thank god for good, clean tasting water. and i must say i am totally confused by the good reviews here.

I received today. Item is slightly shorter than the brand filter. Also the pore size appears to be larger than the brand. It did seem to fit properly in the unit, so I hope it will filter well. No specs listed for what it removes or particle size, but on close inspection of filters the brand has very fine filter papers beneath the plastic netting and the generic one here does not (At least not visible from outside). Much cheaper though, so hopefully quality will be sufficient. Manufacturers should list the filter rates so people know what they are buying. Well cheaper does often mean you give something up. In this taste we did. I can still taste all the dirty water. It taste terrible. At 1st I thought it was do to the needed a flush , not. Poor sizes much larger than on brand. From the physical this is a particle filter only. Spend more on a better product.

After using this, I am very dissatisfied with the product. However the company has told me they will replace or refund my money. I will choose to refund. Not the bargain I thought.

My water tasted better with an expired filter than it does now. Cheaper is not better.

These filters are not worth it, stick to Pure Source. Not only was there a chemical taste to the water, but the screening began to rust after a week. Spend the extra cash and spring for the real thing.

My wife selected this refrigerator because of its spacious interior and ease of use. The ice maker does not take up any interior space in the freezer compartment and dispenses both cubed and crushed ice from a small area tucked into the left refrigerator door. We no longer buy bottled water because of the filtered water this machine dispenses. You can even place cans or bottles in the door in front of he ice maker! There is almost too much room inside the refrigerator with sliding and adjustable shelving to help with most any arrangement you may need. We have had this for about 3 months now and so far no problems. Our electricity use has dropped and the kitchen is much quieter because there is no loud compressor creating the cold air.

The two shelves for the freezer are very easy for my wife to open and they self-close with little effort. They hold all that we need but because of the large refrigerator space, there seems to be a bit less freezer space. We put less used items into the lower freezer drawer. Because there are two drawers, our frozen foods are not all jumbled together and are easier to organize.

We love the fact that we can fit large items that could never have found a home in our side-by-side refrigerator. It costs a bundle but if it is for your own personal use and you don't move around a lot, I believe you will find it worth the extra money.

My LG 4 door door refrig has failed twice now (after first year). Sure the exterior design is really pretty, and the shelving well thought out, but the interior piping for water is really cheap plastic that has failed TWICE now in different locations. I am NOT talking about the line from the wall outlet to the refrigerator unit. I am talking about the unit water piping. Piping that is part of the refrigerator unit. The type of piping for the application is not adequate... LG used this type of cheap piping to save money. The failure flooded my kitchen both times. And to top it off, LG service and support is very, very poor to boot. Call backs promised but never received. Parts promised but never received.

At the same time I bought the LG refrigerator, I also bought their top of line dishwasher... It too has a serious engineering flaw that caused the counter weight system on the door to fail. Now the door, when opened, drops to the floor like a lead balloon... I took the machine apart and discovered the pully system for the door uses string! Wow I could not believe it! Of course the problem was caused by the string breaking. Surprise! I call it extremely cheap engineering (hidden of course so you can't see it....).

After researching, apparently I am not the only one to experience these problems.

I will absolutely avoid all LG appliances. I am deeply disappointed with both my LG appliances.

I will never ever buy LG appliances again after my experience with LG....

Ice dispenser has never worked. I was told by LG (whose customer service dept. is in the Philippines) to open the door each time and bang on it (it is 1 month old)

Large bottom drawer ? Freezes lettuce and fruit. Really odd instead of two half drawers - it is one very long one so BOTH top doors have to be open to access it.

A useless fridge poor use of space. Even gallon milk containers are a challenge to fit in correctly.

2 door, LG SXS big beautiful, worked for 10 months then temperature probe failed 9 months. Still on guarantee/warranty so had a freebie probe plus free labour. New sensor lasted only one year, but as it's now out of guarantee/warranty, I paid-up. Took 1 week for LG to reach us, weekend, public holiday, busy etc. but that's NOT the point, The point is one expects a fridge to last 15, 20 years, as our neighbours and all our previous ones did. Sensor is a simple component, BUT it is the 'go/no go' item for the fridge. If the circuit in the small thermo-whatever component opens, it shuts off the fridge. The tech. didn't know why it would fail. According to the tech. these sensors are made in Thailand, but not by LG, they come from a 'supplier'. The new sensor looks identical to the first one, so it may be that LG is accepting these failure-prone sensors without changing/upgrading etc. LG seemed to have no problem with spare sensor availability. That would cost me 1 sensor a year, or less if one is unlucky, as it's only guaranteed for 3 months. Maybe I'll scour the net for a spare thermo-whatever, (the tech didn't know the name of the component), and then fit it myself. I will never buy an LG fridge again. You wanna buy an LG fridge? You have free will. (I live in Thailand)

This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. It takes more than an hour to wash a load of clothes. Washing clothes on the "Normal" cycle does not get the clothes clean. It has been ripping and tearing my towels to shreds. I have tried using different wash cycles and adding smaller loads, but every time I wash a load another towel, sock, or piece of clothing comes out ripped and torn. Maytag will not admit to any problem, however, I have been doing laundry for 40 years and I have owned several washing machines. This is the first washing machine I have owned that actually shreds my towels and clothing. I got my Maytag Centennial MVWC400XW2 washer 15 months ago from Home Depot, and just like other reviews here, my machine started acting up right after the one year warranty expired. The washer started getting louder and louder, sounding like a train, and nothing was coming out really clean. Now it doesn't seem to spin and rinse anymore.

I thought that buying a Maytag I was getting a quality piece of equipment. No so -very disappointed. Maytag was great reliable quality decades ago, but today is a complete waste of money. I'm going to try phoning their customer service, but can't say I'm holding my breath after reading the other reviews here. Unless something fair is done, I will never ever buy another Maytag product again.

I am writing this review after Maytag's wretched machine flooded our washroom for the third time this week. Frankly I would have given up on it sooner had I known, but I was not made aware of the problem until this evening.

The machine's erratic symptoms include but are not limited to:

-Failure to lock lid

-Failure to illuminate LED's on control panel

-Inoperative cycle cancel button

-Perpetual filling and draining

-Somehow managing to fill the washroom with water while its drum remains moist at best

After diagnosis, the problem lies with the washer's control board. This part alone costs more than we paid for the new washer. At nine months out-of-warranty, it seems to have outperformed some of the machines in other reviews, but this is a small consolation. It seems that Maytag is guilty of the same sin as many of its competitors; attempting to cut the product lifespan as close to the snort warranty period as possible, then building the product up with meaningless tag lines like "Commercial Grade Motor". Nothing is commercial grade unless accompanied by a commercial grade warranty. Next shopping trip, I will bear in mind that a 1 year warranty means a 1 year product.

And now, for stress relief, I will take this $450 piece of scrap metal into the woods and pit it against the product of a certain American firearms manufacturer that hasn't compromised their integrity for short-term sales.

This washer lasted exactly 45 days after the warranty was up. All comments other negative raters make are 100% correct. After burning through several "cheap" washers, we thought we'd try a Maytag, supposedly one of the most reliable brands out there. Not any more! Agitator stopped working. First technician said a new "gear box" ($256 plus $129 service call I know could buy a new washer almost but I was out for the service call regardless!) would fix it. Second tech showed to make the repair and surprise, surprise, first tech "didn't know what he was doing" and the agitator was "bolted in too tight" and would have to be BROKEN to be removed and also replaced to fix the gear box. What a brilliant design you have to break parts to fix others! Bringing my total to a lovely $509. I told them forget it and am eating the $129. Now shopping for a new washer. NOT a Maytag!

Never liked this washer anyway, in addition to all the other reviewer's complaints (length of cycles, water temps, locking door & sensors taking control of your washing like HAL), this machine also left a bizarre 2.5 inch long brown streak on at least one item almost every load. Could NEVER figure out what it was. At least all my kids' clothes were easily i.d.'d if any one ever tried to steal them.

If you haven't gotten my point by now DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER!

I had this wine refrigerator (actually the predecessor -1SB that looks identical to the -1SC)for approximately three years; and than it broke down. The temperature sensor, which should never fail, quit working and the unit would no longer run. For $1,300 one would expect it to last as long as a full sized refrigerator 15 years. It costs as much. When it worked, it performend nominally. Needless to say, I cannot recommend a product costing this much money with such terrible reliability. In reviewing the other offerings by many manufacturers and reading the reviews, it appears as though these types of wine refrigerators are duds. Some units are not serviceable in many areas of the country; they are considered by the manufacturers as throw away items. So... buyer Beware! I'm replacing it with an Avanti 15" unit that has an electronic temperature control. Let's hope it is better than the mechanical one in the Scotsman.

Works great for seven plus years. One minor problem along the way, which was easily rectified by a local service center.

The refrigerator keeps a steady temperature of 35 degrees with the dial on a setting of 5. 7 is the max setting, and 1 is the minimum. The refrigerator increases temp by about 6-8 degrees if you open the door for a minute and add more products. But if you open the door just to take out a drink, the temperature stays steady.

I give this refrigerator a 3 because of the noise level. The first one i bought was so noisy that i had to bring it back. It made a buzzing sound, probably due to a loose screw or something mechanically wrong with the compressor. I got a new one, same exact model, and that annoying buzzing sound is gone, but you can definitely hear the compressor when it's on. It turns on for about 2 minutes, then shuts off for about 5 minutes. It repeats this cycle.

The noise doesn't bother me, but that's because i keep the refrigerator in a place where it doesn't need to be super quiet. This product does the job and even though i give it only 3 stars, i do recommend it. It fits quite a bit of food and drinks. A half-gallon carton of milk fits nicely in the bottom compartment. I keep this at work, and 4 employees can store their lunches in there, as well as drinks and some extras too.

When it worked, it worked. Whats to say, it keep things cold. Mine worked until it didn't, and it wasn't terribly long after I bought it that it died. The compressor gave, but fortunately (ha ha, he said bitterly) it was covered by the five year warranty.

Well, all I needed to do, according to the service representative, was to take it to the authorized service people, where they would fix it free of charge. Provided I paid the labor charges. (Huh?)

Well, finding the service center proved problematic I got a series of telephone numbers that were either a) always busy, or b) never answered.

It's been six months since the damned thing broke, and still it hasn't been resolved. Truthfully, I chose this brand because it looked nice, and it had what appeared to be a generous warranty. Don't be fooled.

I live in the Phoenix area and this refrigerator is installed under the counter of my outdoor kitchen. It experiences direct sunlight, temperatures up to 115 degrees in the summer and slightly below freezing in the winter. I use it for beverages and it runs 24/7/365. Just after its fourth year of operation, it has died but it has lasted in very extreme conditions much longer than I expected.

As other reviewers have noted, this refrigerator has a very short lifespan. My particular unit stopped working about 5 years in. From what I can tell, the compressor is dead when plugged in it makes a clicking sound every couple minutes, but there is no other sound and no cooling.

1) The noise It makes this loud whirring noise. And it's not even like it's constant or rare. It happens every few minutes, then shuts off, then comes back on. How is anyone supposed to sleep with this noise?

2) The smell There is a funky smell in my room that I'm sure came from my fridge. I'm not sure if something leaked out which caused it to smell this bad or what, but it smells bad and as of right now, I can't find a way to get rid of the smell.

3) The freezer It really doesn't do much. The noodles that I put in the freezer went bad after a few days because it wasn't cold enough even after I cranked it up to the highest. But I guess I didn't really expect this freezer to do much anyway.

4) The space/aesthetics -This is the only good thing about this fridge. It looks cute, & it stores a good amount of food and drinks.

5) The customer service This is where it got me. Their customer service is essentially non-existant. I e-mailed them (24 hour 7 days a week support) and told them about my problem. I asked them what it might have been and if someone would be able to repair it. In the first e-mail, they asked about my model # so I gave it to them. In the second e-mail, all they told me was that I needed to find a local repair company to fix it. What? I bought this fridge a month ago. Some kind of customer service would be appreciated, I could have called a local repair company without the suggestion from their customer service. I will never, ever buy another item from Magic Chef, ever again. I don't have the time to be dealing with problems like this. And I recommend that other people don't as well, unless you have a lot of free time or something.

I recently bought a Turbo Air grab and go cooler (about 10 months ago).

Yesterday, the compressor went out. I called the company, and after a bit of hemming and hawing, they agreed to send me a replacement compressor.... but here is the kicker:

1. I have to pay to have it installed $250-$350.

2. I wont get it for a week... which means I will lose substantial sales for the next week thousands of dollars

3. When I asked them to overnight the compressor to me, they said they would charge me $150 to overnight it.

keep in mind they sent me a LEMON. A compressor should last 6-7 years... and yet they are making me eat the cost of this.

No dont buy any products from Turbo Air. There are many other kitchen equipment manufacturers out there that wont treat you like this.

My husband and I bought this unit 2 years ago while doing a remodel to rental suite (they'd have their private mini-kitchen). It sat for a few months in the box waiting to be installed inside the house, air conditioned, and away from sunlight. We finally opened an installed it 9/2011. Aside from using it twice for chilling party trays (turning it on when needed, off when not), it didn't go into "full-time use" until we had a renter move in upstairs and began to use it 9/1/2012. The renter noticed an issue in March 2013 as her milk and other food was going bad faster than the expiration dates and finally brought it to our attention on 3/20/2013. We put a thermometer inside, left the fridge closed for 30 minutes, and took a reading it was 20 degrees warmer in the fridge than the digital thermometer was set to (we left it in overnight and it never went lower than 57 degrees). My husband called Avanti the next day (as they were closed) and a serviceperson was sent out today (3/22/2013). For $65 the serviceperson looked the unit over and declared that there was a sealant issue in the lines that could not be fixed and that we would need to call our city to properly dispose of it. Great. We're out of the warranty zone and out $700, but if there's anything we've learned from this is:

Fridge-fairies do not exist.

Get a fridge with a 2 year or more warranty.

Stand alones are 1/3 the price or more than the cost of a built in.

They only last 2 years before petering out especially when they're this cheap (according to the serviceperson representing Avanti!)

If you're really concerned about looks, spend around $1,000 or more for a good mini-fridge built-in. Or buy a full fridge.
