Basically,

Bought this dishwasher brand new from Lowe's. Had Lowe's install it.

We have used it for 2 months now...it has had problems working 3 times so far. Has completely stopped mid-cycle to tell us something is wrong. Nothing seems out of ordinary. Did the basic checks for debris etc. I am not impressed with its cleaning either. It cleans ok.

Update : has not given us any trouble signals since. Adding a splash of chlorine to the washes helps with better cycles and residue. Happier. Changing from 2 to 4 stars...not getting my hopes up.

After months of internal debate, I finally sprang for one of these about six months ago. So far I'm very glad that I did.

I use it at a rustic, off-grid cabin. I have a tiny solar system there -60 watts of amorphous panels and 12-volt batteries with a total capacity of 205 amp hours. When I got the fridge, I planned to only run it when I was at the cabin. In reality, I haven't turned it off yet although I do turn the thermostat up and run it at around 45 degrees in order to save power when I'm not there. The spec sheet rating for power consumption seems to be accurate -I don't remember exactly but it rates it at something like 6.5 A/h per day at 78 degrees and no openings. In mid-summer it draws about 5 A/h per day when I am not there, meaning thermostat turned up and zero openings. When I am there, it draws in the range of 10-15 A/h per day with normal usage and adding of warm stuff. It draws about 3 amps when the compressor is actually running. I track the power consumption using a "Watt's up" meter (just do an Amazon search, it's another item I highly recommend).

As an item of potential interest but unverified by me, I read in a review of the freezer that it's identical except for the thermostat. So you can change this from fridge to freezer and back just buy swapping thermostats in it. Might be useful to someone.

My Sundanzer refrigerator failed shortly after the warranty ended. The company knew right away what the problem had to beholes in the freon linebut they won't do anything about it. They told me to get a refrigerator repair person to fix it. When I called one he told me that they must be using cheap freon lines that are defective, and that the holes can be tiny and impossible to find. And if the holes are in the line that is imbedded inside the insulation, it is not possible to fix it. This was not a cheap fridge and I am so disapointed. I have one of their freezers as well and it is doing finebut obviously some of the freon lines are defective. I wish the company would stand behind their products but they don't.

The Sundanzer refrigerator/freezers are good product. However, try to get one fixed or someone who knows how it operates (from the main office) will get you nowhere plus a big runaround from Billy Amos. Getting replacement parts is another issue. Their customer service is almost non-existent. If you buy one...you are on your own.

Whirlpool GB2FHDXWS Gold 21.9 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Energy Star

Got the water accumulation issue in the bottom of the freezer a couple weeks before the 1-year warranty ran out. Repairmen knew the instant they saw the fridge what the problem was. They said that the factory instructions were simply to cut a larger opening in a certain rubber piece they showed me than the slit it was made with to drain water that condenses as part of the defrosting. The slit blocks up easily and then the water backs up. There has been no problem since.

I purchased Whirlpool Gold line version of this Refrigerator/Freezer along with several other Whirlpool appliances. After just over a year ice started forming in the bottom of the freezer and then leaks out during nightly defrost. Cleaned it up twice but continues to happen. Whirlpool customer service was useless saying I should have bought the extended warranty even though it is happening at 13 months. I wouldn't buy another Whirlpool product based on the quality and the customer service I experienced.

What else can I say.....I tried cleaning everything but the water keeps coming back......I am 2 years into a 4 year extended warranty,,,,I will update after I contact Lowes and see how they handle it.

Lucky I had the warranty...they came out and fixed the problem.It was a drain that clogs,,,and he said that he modified it so it won't happen again.....

This is an awesome side by side fridge. We've had it for a couple of months and we are very happy we bought it. We got it for about half price of what's listed here it was marked down, probably because it is wider than can fit in many kitchens. It's a great looking fridge with the cool blue lighted display on the ice maker. And there are many lights inside the fridge and the freezer. There isn't anywhere you can't see easily. There's even a light illuminating the ice!

Speaking of the ice maker, I read a review before buying where someone commented that the ice spits out and this is true. However, if you hold the glass up towards where the ice comes out, it isn't a problem. Our last fridge caught on fire (Sears Kenmore Elite) thank goodness we were at home when it happened. Anyway, we had to replace parts in that ice maker all the time. Every week I had to take out all the ice and chisel the ice build up out of the chute so the ice could come out. Major pain. The flap holding the ice in didn't close properly and the ice would melt into a big chunk.

This fridge solves the problem the flap to let the ice out is motorized and closes after each use. The ice maker doesn't hold as much as the last one so I have a quart ziploc bag with extra ice just in case we get company and need more. You can choose ice cubes or chips. There are separate pads to push for water and ice which is easier for my mother-in-law to use. She lives with us and is blind. We put a loc-dot on the digital display on the ice maker and she has no problem using it. A great feature is that the water dispenser will discharge a pre-determined amount. We set it at one cup so she can easily get water to mix with her vitamin supplement drink.

The drawers are well built. They glide easily, even when full of heavy items like cans of pop; not like our last fridge where you had to tug and tug to get the drawers open.

So far I have no complaints about this purchase!

I recently purchased the three door Kenmore Elite fridge with water in the door. 30 days later, the first filter they include with the fridge needed replacing according to the light on the door. Of course I went to the Kenmore web site and paid over $130 for ONE filter from Kenmore. What a rip off. Later I searched around and found this three pack from LG, who is the actual maker of the fridge. I just installed this filter and guess what, the water tastes the same as the filter costing three times more. Let my lesson learned save you some money.

I carefully researched the product prior to purchase and was concerned about some of the negative reviews that I read. However, the ability to store AND preserve a couple of open bottles was all too tempting to pass up! I was well aware about the "condensation" issues many reviewers complained about. I was NOT prepared for problems a mere 5 months after purchasing the system.

It started with the power cord and charger malfunctioning. There is no means by which to contact Eurocave directly. There is no phone number on their web site. I was not able to get assisstance through the vendor I bought the product from since they are not a distributor. I ended up calling the Wineenthusiast for help. They were wonderful and fixed the issued by selling me a new charger and power cord.

Now the indicator light on the control panel is flashing red continually and the oxygen vacuum extraction system no longer works. The Wineenthusiast has no solution except for buying another one to replace mine. Another $400 some dollars for a potentially malfunctioning system??? I am still in shock that there is no recourse to address the problem. I DO NOT recommend this product, nor the vendor as they have non-existent customer service.

I bought this item for my husband for Christmas 2008. It works great and extends the life of wine enabling you to have a glass of white or red or preserve two reds. The "malfunctioning" of the air seal mentioned is not really a malfunction if you push one of the tops down. It will continue to try to suck the air out of a bottle that's not there. Also, you need to remove the foil at the top of the bottle so it can seal properly. I'm surprised that one customer had a hard time with Wine Enthusiast. I had some questions for them regarding this unit and they were very helpful. Very satisfied with this product.

Bottom line Don't buy this!

You can imagine my excitement the day I opened my EuroCave SoWine wine preserver. I could now safely store open bottles of both red and white wine in an attractive, boastful mechanical marvel. The gift was for Christmas 2009 and showed a manufacturing date of 9/2008. Coming from a small wine shop, I guess that they did not sell a lot of these.

I plugged the unit in per the instructions, and immediately I heard a loud clattering noise and the indicator lights began flashing in error. I understand how products sometimes are defective, especially when they are imported from faraway locations as France.

It went back to the wine shop in January 2010. Of course they did not have a replacement on hand, but ordered one for me. The new one arrived in March 2010, again with a manufacturing date of 9/2008. They must have made a lot of these back then.

It worked great! My white wines were chilled to perfection, the reds kept at room temperature. Three months later the indicator lights started flashing in error again, the vacuum pump refused to turn off and the chiller stopped working.

I went back to the wine shop in June 2010 for another replacement. This time it took 4 months for the new one to arrive. As I unpacked it, I noticed the manufacturing date again 9/2008!! This one seemed to do the trick, but only lasted 3 months. The left hand indicator light stays on the white wine setting, the left on the red wine setting. They both flashed and could not be changed. It didn't matter as the cooler and warmer didn't work anyway. The pump continued to run and the sound of the machine was annoying.

When I returned to the wine shop, they were out of business. I tried contacting the manufacturer in France without success. There are no service centers in the United States. The Wine Enthusiast company (The name appearing on the box) are only retailers and offered me a discount on a new one.

I unplugged this piece of crap and now store red wine in it as it does keep it at room temperature so does my kitchen counter for that matter.

My advice: If you are thinking about buying this, you would be better purchasing a $334.78 bottle of fine wine, knowing in advance that you will be pissing your money away the next morning.

We have had this model for only one week but we are very satisfied with this model. Bright inside and big with a great design. The motor in other reviews we have read wad too noisy but we have not noticed this. When the fridge originally cooled down and the motor ran constantly after we first plugged it in, I thought maybe it would be a problem but now that the temps are where they should be, it doesnt run any more than our old one and is fairly quiet. We debated buying this fridge against other brands, but after much online research and visits to stores, we are very happy with our decision.

This "cooler" does not cool below 54 degrees unless we completely remove it from the cabinet. We have vented the cabinet in the back and on both sides to release the amazing amount of heat this machine gives off and still the temperature will not drop enough to chill properly while in the cabinet. We bought this one to fit in a space from a trash compactor. You must pull out each shelf to place a bottle on it, you can't just slide a bottle onto a shelf. The appearance is quite nice and goes well with our other stainless steel appliances. We're still looking for solutions to the overheating problem.

This product gives off too much heat, and the shelves are flimsy wooden shelves that fall out easily and are too close to each other so that the bottles do not fit on each shelf. I had to remove every other shelf. It also does not cool to the temperatures listed. Unfortunately the cost to return is not worth the hassle. Sigh.

Stay away from this company and their products. I bought this unit brand new just a couple of weeks ago and could not tap a keg because of a defective part. I was told that I would have to purchase the replacement part. I expressed my displeasure with their rep and that I would make sure to write a negative review and never purchase their products again and quite frankly, he could have cared less. So buyer beware when it comes to Vinotemp. I would give zero stars but unfortunately this is not an option.
