Whirlpool W10311524 AIR1 Refrigerator Air Filter

Whirlpool W10311524 AIR1 Refrigerator Air FilterThis item was not included in a refrigerator we had just purchased. I considered just doing without as I had never used one before. But, what the heck. I ordered from Amazon and here it came.

It definitely keeps the produce fresh for a longer period of time. My wife didn't know I had installed it but after a few weeks, she remarked that the new refrigerator keep the lettuce crisper than before. I had to agree with her.

It was a good purchase. Will have to see how long it lasts.

Works like it was brand new. This filter combined with the other air filter keeps the refrigerator smelling clean, no odors.

Bosch WAS24460UC Axxis 2.2 Cu. Ft. White Stackable Front Load Washer - Energy Star</noscr

Bosch WAS24460UC Axxis 2.2 Cu. Ft. White Stackable Front Load Washer - Energy Star
  • Washer
  • 2.2 cu. ft. High Capacity
  • ENERGY STAR Qualified
  • Energy Consumption of 130 kWh/year
  • 208-240V Electrical Supply

I have been tremendously disappointed by Bosch, not only because my machine has stopped working, but because they do not honor their warranty and their customer service reps do not seem like they care. I purchased my Bosch machine last July (2010) and it broke at the end of December. It is now April and I still am stuck with a washer that doesn't work. We have had factory service repairmen in on four occasions now. Each time they come they can't fix it and tell me they need to order another part. Ordering a part takes several days, then you have to wait several days to schedule an appointment. In our most recent appointment, the repairman pretty much admitted that it was unlikely the next part was going to fix it, but he wasn't authorized to do anything more until he tried. This cycle is unending and my time and inconvenience does not seem to matter to anyone. When I call Bosch customer service, they are not helpful and so far have been unwilling to replace the machine despite months without a working machine and multiple repair visits. I am likely going to have to just buy a new washer. It certainly will not be Bosch.

Buy

I bought this machine not from amazon, but from Sears Canada. I live in Toronto.

After 2 weeks' usage, the machine died with "F43" error indicating "motor malfunction". I called the repairing service. It took over 1 month and 3 visits to make it work again. For this request, they first ordered a motor, and then found the problem was not on the motor. Then they ordered a control unit, and after they replaced this unit, the washer ran again.

But it was only good for less than 2 weeks. This time there is no error code, and timer decrements. But the motor is not moving. So I have to call Sears again.

It is hard to imagine a brand new washer broke twice within the first 3 months. The time that I wait for repairing is even longer than the time I am able to use it.

Besides the horrible reliability, the user manual is poorly written. The letters are small, and and the figures are hard to understand. There are "go to page xx" everywhere.

I always want to show due respect to Germany engineering, but it turns out they are dumping garbage to North American market.

I had a BOSCH since 2003 and it finally went out. Expense to repair was almost as much as a new one. Due to age we purchased a new WAS24460UC. After reading all the bad reviews, I was really scared it was going to malfunction but due to my good experience with my first one, we took the chance. We have had it since February with no problems. Remember, it is a compact. I was use to the small capacity so I knew not to overload. I will only wash 2 pairs adult jeans at a time. Three bath towels and 3 wash clothes. I have huge sheets so only one at a time. It does take longer but that is what a compact can handle. Very little soap and clothes softner, if to much is used, it will cause problems. I do agree with the comment about all the preset functions. My old one had very few settings and I could change water temperature, spin speed and time myself no matter what clothes setting it was on. I liked that much better. This has so many settings but I only use a few. The rubber should be wiped dry where it drains the water out on the bottom after use. Leaving the door open a bit will also prevent any mold from forming as it will allow the washer to dry out. So far, I am very happy with my machine and I love front loads.

Want

I have had front load washers all my life. Both full size and compact. This machine does a very good job at cleaning and I love the soak cycle (an option that is very hard to find) and is the main reason I purchased this machine. All front load washers have some whine to them when they spin. This machine is way past a whine. The spin is so loud it gives me a headache. Repair was just out here on Saturday and replaced the motor for the 5th time and the noise is still there. I truly can't believe Bosch would design such a flop. If you have the machine out in the garage you should be fine, but it you have it in the house I'd suggest you buy a different machine. If not for the noise, I'd give it 5 stars.

We have had this washer and dryer for about a year. The dryer works fine. The cloths come out gray and just plain dirty. The washer doesn't get them clean. Today, the washer locked up, literally, the door will not open. We read the manual and took the advised steps. We get a message E13 which says the drainb is clogged. I took the drain tube out of the drain and placed it in the wash tub. It is cle3ar. Still, the same message. No Bosh phone availability on week-ends. We'll call tomorrow, Monday, and see it there is a solution. I doubt it. A continuing saga!

SquareTrade 4-Year Appliance Protection Plan ($175-200)

SquareTrade 4-Year Appliance Protection PlanI have used Squaretrade for several years. I have several electronics and appliances insured through them. So far, I have only needed to file a claim once, for an antiquated GPS device.

Just like their contract states, I filed the claim and received a pre-paid UPS label. I printed it out, packed the GPS and shipped it off (to Texas, I think).

They have the option of either repairing (and/or replacing, I forget) the device or refunding you your full (not pro-rated) purchase amount.

Since this GPS thingy was rare and unique, I received a Paypal credit to the tune of $90...what I paid a few years ago.

They constantly run coupons. Mostly 30%. One time I received a 50% coupon. I highly recommend them.

No servicemen at your door. No taking your product anywhere (aside from the UPS store). Just prompt, fast, legit service.

It is a protection plan for my wonderful new microwave, after purchasing a laptop that was nothing but problems, I will never not buy protection plan.

Right after ordering, I received an email from SquareTrade about my contract that I just purchased. Within that confirmation, there's a link to click to "View and Print Your Contract." I clicked it, and it's just a dead link: the top of the web page reads "mywarranties (GIF Image, 1 x 1 pixels)." My guess is that page is supposed to forward you to the actual page, but it just hangs there. I've tried this in both Firefox (v.14.0.1) and IE (v.9), and they're dead in both browsers.

There's also another link for "Questions about your contract?", and when I click that, I get a similar dead page. I've sent 4 emails to the company explaining the problem, and they simply bounce back the same copy of the same document with the same dead links. I've also repeatedly asked them to send me my contract in a viewable, printable, saveable document format like Adobe Acrobat (PDF). All I got in response to my first couple of inquiries were repeat sends of this useless email confirmation with the same dead links. This is ridiculous. There is simply NO EXCUSE for not getting the thing right to begin with, and there's NO EXCUSE for not simply sending a digital copy of the document in RTF or PDF or anything similar.

Finally, after multiple attempts to get a saveable, printable version of the contract, I FINALLY received a message from (I think) a real human, and he has attached a PDF of the contract, but the email goes in about 8 directions at once, pasting boilerplate about requirements for obtaining warranty service, offering vague apologies for hypothetical inconveniences, stating how to send/FAX copies of my receipt to make a claim, suggesting how to buy a supplemental "Care Plan," etc., etc., etc. All I asked for was a copy of the warranty that I couldn't get via their dead links; I FINALLY got the PDF of the warranty, but the links are still dead.

To add insult to injury, they subsequently sent me a survey to fill out to tell them what I thought of their customer service. Wouldn't you know that the link to click for the survey is a dead link as well? Good grief! I simply decided to send my survey reply text to the email address from which the survey request initiated, but it bounced back a message saying that their email address has changed, and they don't tell me what the new one is! What in the world? Instead, they give me a link to a webform to fill out if I need to contact them. Guess what? Yep. That's a dead link too!!!!!!!!!

I sure hope that they do a better job of standing behind their warranty than they demonstrate they are capable of in website development, email account management, and in written communication skills.

not sure if it was this or the starter that was out on my refrigerator, capacitor was not within tolerance when tested with a multimeter. but when i shook the old starter it seemed to sound like something was rattling around in there, so could have been both...I think either one of these burning out could have been from the extreme amount of pet hair and buildup of heat around them, could have also been from accidentally leaving the freezer door juuust cracked open overnight and the constant cycling on and off may have burnt them out (i remember them going out not too long after this)

Sure beats having to pay a technician to come and fix it when it is a very simple thing to do

Vinotemp VT-58 Stainless Steel (58) Bottle Beverage Cooler

Vinotemp VT-58 Stainless Steel Bottle Beverage Cooler
  • Under Counter or Free Standing Wine cooler
  • Single glass door design (thermal, double paned)
  • Front exhaust wine cellar, Black exterior
  • Approx. Bottle Capacity: 58

I bought two of these coolers for a bar in our basement. I called Vinotemp many times during my warranty period and they said that the 40 degree low setting was as cold as it would get. I told them that my beverages were not very cold. Finally, I got my own thermometers that showed the inside was 10 degrees warmer than the display setting. My beer was 50-55 degrees. I have over 20 emails back and forth with Vinotemp, along with pictures of the digital thermometers and they kept on telling me they would solve the problem. They absolutely did not and I just pulled them out and will replace them with something else. I have never dealt with a company that I would not trust to any degree or such a poor performing product.

Thermador : KBURT3655E Refrigerator

Thermador : KBURT3655E RefrigeratorInternal icemaker never worked. A technician came out FIVE! times in an attempt to fix it. Never did. The freezer barely works. The door if given a slight push unlike other refrigerators does not close by itself. Customer service is through Bosch terrible. They count the two year warranty not from the date you purchased it but from the date the store that sold you the unit got it from them...? ! They promised to look into the situation and call me back. Never did. I would not buy a Thermidor or a Bosch appliance based on this experience. Oh, and the bottom drawer rollout is problematic.

Haier HBCN05FVS 150-Can Beverage Center

Haier HBCN05FVS 150-Can Beverage Center
  • Beverage center for chilling and storing up to 150 12-ounce cans
  • 4 full-width adjustable vinyl-coated shelves hold both cans and bottles
  • Adjustable thermostat; reversible glass door with recessed handle
  • Removable lower bottle rack; automatic defrost; lock and key for optional security
  • Measures 21-1/4 by 20-1/2 by 31-3/8 inches

My beverage center arrived quickly and we were quite eager to get it up and running as my husband always takes too much space in the fridge with his bottled water, soda pop and beer. Just as advertised, it holds a lot of stuff!

The honeymoon ended quickly though, when we found that we could not get the temp to go below 49 degrees, which is pretty tepid for any cold beverage and absolutely unacceptable for beer. We tried everything, reread instructions, etc. You can only set it on a dial, there no indication of what the temp actually is...so we bought a thermometer and got the bad news that despite being on the coldest setting possible, we weren't getting below 49-50, which according to the thermometer we bought is actually in the "danger" zone of letting bacteria breed.

So, we call the manufacturer who says that we should have know it is a "cooler" not a fridge and will only keep beverages 20 degrees cooler than the ambient temp in the house. What a crock!!!!!!

So, we're stuck with a piece of equip that barely cools things down.

I suggest anyone interested in purchasing these things, now matter the price, be well informed between the differences of cooler and refrigerator. I have learned an expensive lesson.

This thing broke in 9 months. Never really got drinks cold anyway. More of a "chiller" than refrigerator. Get something else.

Read Best Reviews of Haier HBCN05FVS 150-Can Beverage Center Here

Reading all the other reviews of this product......you have to blame the error of the customers and not the product itself.

If you have ever owned a Wine Fridge.....you know it is NOT a refrigerator....that is not its purpose. If the other reviewers wanted a beverage holder that was able to keep food in it or keep beverages below 40degrees....then they should have gotten a REFRIGERATOR...not a wine fridge/chiller.

So knowing that....let us give an honest and realistic review of this item based on what it was actually designed for.

This unit while not the highest frills of wine chillers is attractive with a stainless steel trim on the door and a glass front and a black body. The door is reversible and it has an internal blue LED interior light you can turn on/off depending on your mood. It does not have a Temperature indicator with a simple dial for temperature with MIN to MAX indicators. It is simple and attractive.....and given its price....thats to be expected. I purchased a suction cup thermometer that faces out and mounts to the interior of the glass door for like 2$.

It comes with 4 adjustable racks and the nice bonus of a bottom storage area rack that has not been present in other wine chillers I have purchased. It allows you to stack cans on the bottom on their side so they don't roll out.

My unit is new and I purchased it as it is replacing an old Urbina thermoelectric wine chiller that finally crapped out after 2.5 years (It was dirt cheap so no big whoop). We will see if this unit is the exception.

Lets be honest......these units don't tend to last more than 3 years on average so if you are worried about that a higher end unit may be to your liking....but you will pay a pricey premium for actual fridge-like beverage centers like GE's.....or just invest in a long extended warranty so you can be re-imbursed should it fail within 3 years (this is what I did).

This unit unlike my old model has an actual compressor and sealed coolant system which is a luxury at this price range....usually you are getting a thermo-electric cooling system at prices below 200$.

I will update my review in the coming months but so far my unit on MAX is cooling better than expected with an average of 33F below room temp:

(Current Results = Room Temp 75F / Cooler Temp 42F )

* NOTE: Cooler is in a shaded corner away from direct sunlight...and this is also one of the 'newer' models in stores now.

Hopefully this informed and realistic review will help others. This is good unit for the price if you want a beverage chiller. It is similar to units they use at bars and convenience stores on or near the counter. Your beverages will be chilled but they will not be ice cold. Your white wine will be in the perfect temperature range (depending on the temp of your home or room)......which is exactly what this unit was designed for.

The fridge looks great, would be a perfect for beer, and I thought would be perfect for my bar. Only problem is that it is junk. It does not get cold whatsoever. Might as well stick your beer outside at night to get it cooler. Do not buy unless you know how to rig the thermostat.

Having read the reviews about the lowest temperature this gets to, I was skeptical, but decided to buy this one anyway. Mostly because of the price and the fact that it fit almost perfectly in the space where the old one was.

Although this is NOT meant for built in spaces, I had a planned workaround. Anyway, my first tests were with the fridge in the middle of an 80F room with plenty of air circulation and no direct sun. Note that this unit does not have a condenser fan (the fan on the back of most larger refrigerators). Instead, the coils are behind the side panels, so they do get very warm. Anyway, because there is no fan, you should not use it built in.

So how did it do? I used a temperature logging device with my laptop and a power meter. On the maximum setting, it cycles on for 30-45 minutes and then off for about 30 minutes. It uses about 80 watts when on (0 watts when off, unless you have the LED's on so maybe a watt) and the temperature ranged from 35F to 45F with a median temperature of 41 (that's what a can of beer or soda would be at any given time because of its thermal mass).

80 watts seemed like a lot of energy for such a small unit, but since Amazon doesn't provide energy data for these, there's no way to compare.

Just for grins, I tried putting the unit in the cabinets (with 1/2" side clearance, 2" on top and 4" in the back) with no modifications. While it did cool about as well as in the open, it ran almost continuously, turning off only for about 5 minutes every 2 hours. That would be a huge energy hog so what I did was put a ~5" diameter muffin fan in the side of the cabinet such that it drew cool air from an adjacent area (the drawer section) and exhausted it into the area where the fridge is. Since the only openings were towards the front, that gave good circulation all around. I had an old Sears Craftsman power switch that I wasn't using (the kind normally used to turn on an accessory when a tool is turned on) that now turns the fan on whenever it senses the fridge is running. The added fan draws 10 watts, but it keeps the fridge from running constantly so it will save electricity. In fact, it may actually may run less than when it was in the open because of the added air circulation.

I find the unit is quiet (sorry don't have a decibel meter), but it is in the family room where the TV is and is not objectionable. Even when it was out in the open and not in the cabinet, it wasn't too loud.

I wish it was more energy efficient, but considering the price it is a good buy.

UPDATE 8-9-12:

I found that having the blue LED lights on affects the temperature inside. That's because the power supply for the LED is in a section of the housing where the thermostat is. If you have the lights on all the time, they generate a small amount of heat which makes the thermostat think the whole fridge is warmer. Thus it will run longer and get the inside about 5 degrees colder. This could explain why some people say the temperature inside is too warm. If you want to get it colder, try turning ON the blue LEDs!

I lowered my initial rating from 4 to 3 stars because of poor Haier customer service. I needed to get a new plastic plug that covers the hole in the door left from reversing the hinges (it was jammed in so tight and it is soft plastic so it got mashed up when I tried to remove it). The manufacturer basically said too bad, you have to buy a new one! This is for a part that couldn't cost more than a quarter.

Fisher Paykel E522BRXU2 17.6 cu. ft. Counter Depth Refrigerator - Right Hinge

Fisher Paykel E522BRXU2 17.6 cu. ft. Counter Depth Refrigerator - Right HingeI have had this fridge for about four years (the same family of appliances, E522B), and the verdict is that its looks, efficient use of space and small footprint (which is a must if you have limited space) are almost outweighed by flaws that are unforgivable for this price range. First, the

PROs:

Small footprint

Great looks, clean, classy, angular

Efficient use of space

Lots of nifty features and nice touches you'd expect for the price

Acceptably energy-efficient

BUT here come the

CONS:

Dents easily out of nowhere, it's enough for someone to walk by it

It's mechanically unreliable the ice tray quit working years ago, the screen is erratic and either works, works partially or not at all, some compartment doors snapped out within the first six months, etc.

It's expensive to fix, even a service diagnostic call will cost you a bundle

Fisher & Paykel customer service is horrid

Bottom line: if you can find a similar size fridge from someone else, buy it you'll save a lot of money, headaches and frustration. It is a shame really because I really do love my fridge but it's been a thorn in my side for most of the time I've owned it,

okay well at least the two i received are... they are very close replicas but they are not the actual product, they went to great lengths to copy the box and got stuff slightly wrong, like there was no actual trademark stamp on the NSF logo, and the year on the box was dated 2007 and the actual year should be 2011, there was also some uneven typing going on... the actual filter was smaller and wider then the original and didn't come with any sort of safety wrapping or cap to ensure i was receiving a brand new item, it also just had a white background with "premium filter" on it, not like the blue labels in the photos... i am all for using generic products if they label them as such, instead of trying to pass them off as the official product...so i can't say how this filter actually works because i'm sending it back... i did contact LG and they gave me a list of approved dealers who sell the actual filters, which I bought from best buy, and it was in the right box, and properly sealed, even if i have to pay more i'd rather rest assured that my water is being filtered completely, because who knows if they can't copy the box properly then what they may have done to the filters themselves...

I have ordered from other places the LG LT500P filter where I got a "cheaper" filter even though the discription and picture was the cuno LT500P. So be careful. The Cuno filter performs better and keeps the water clean for a long time, even after the 6 month recommended replacement. I forgot the last filter change for1 year without noticing any difference in water quality. This is why I bought 2 this time.

I ordered another product with the same name off of Amazon and received some generic crappy water filters with fake LG labels on them. Those other filters would dispense water slower than molasses moves. Needless to say, I returned those fake filters and ordered these instead. Kudos to Amazon for handling the return process so well.

What I received when ordering this product was exactly as pictured, two true OEM CUNO water filters made by 3M. The same exact ones that came with the fridge!

Wine Enthusiast N'FINITY 170 Bottle Dual-temperature Wine Cellar Black Trimmed Door 7 Blue LED Inte

Wine Enthusiast N'FINITY 170 Bottle Dual-temperature Wine Cellar Black Trimmed Door 7 Blue LED Interior Lights Built-in VersatilityCooling is adequate, but this unit is several times louder than your average refrigerator and it almost NEVER shuts off. Most of the time this is one or both of the fans, which cycle on and off CONSTANTLY but when you add in the compressor it can sound like you are standing next to a jet taking off. The fans seem to cycle with no discernible pattern. Top fan is on, then bottom, then both, then one or the other shuts off, then starts up it is maddening. The longest period of time that I have found both fans and compressor off is only fifteen seconds. The tech guys told me that it was "designed that way" and they couldn't do anything in the way of service. Keep the box you may be sending it back as I will be.

I purchased the 187 Bottle unit and 4G's Trucking damaged my newly installed hardwood floor during deliver and refuse to return my call even though they noted the damage on the Bill of Lading. WineEnthusiast has been less than helpful in getting this resolved. The unit also stopped working properly after 2 days with one of the zones getting stuck on 99 degrees. The repair has caused the fan to run constantly and now the on/off button doesn't work. I suggest you purchase a different unit, elsewhere!

Aqua Fresh WF287 Refrigerator Replacement Filter

Aqua Fresh WF287 Refrigerator Replacement FilterI purchased a 3 pack (not from Amazon) for use in my GE Profile refrigerator. The first one worked fine, but when it came time to replace it, the second one would not work. After installing the second filter I received no water through the dispenser.

First I thought something was wrong with the water line. I pulled out the fridge and checked water flow into the dispenser. Water flow was good. I then started thinking the water valve was broken, but it seemed curious to me that it failed exactly when I replaced the filter....so I tried putting the first Aqua Fresh filter back on. But again, no water.

Before I started replacing valves, I wanted to completely rule out the filter as potential cause so I put the bypass plug into the filter holder and water began to flow again.

At this point I'm thinking it must be the filter. I go to the local store plop down the the ridiculous sum of $43 for the GE brand filter, plug it in, and it works! I then compared the Aqua Fresh filter side by side with the GE brand and found that the diameter and construction of the socket inside the Aqua Fresh filter is different than the GE. The socket needs to be able to depress and hold a spring loaded valve underneath the filter holder in order for water to flow into the filter. However, the Aqua Fresh filter sometimes will not completely depress and hold the valve open when mounted. Some of them work, some of them don't.

Anyway, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm going to stick with the overpriced GE brand, seeking out the best deal I can get on Amazon.

This is an "after-market" product that costs about 1/3 less than the original name-brand replacement. When I received it, it seemed as if it could possibly be used. I suspected this b/c the label affixed to the filter had sort of "stretch" tears on it (the kind of tear from a twisting motion that might occur from torquing the product in or out). Besides that, there is a seal that goes on the very top which was present but not affixed, and the box seemed a bit dirty/smudged. I put the filter in after following the directions of filling it with water, etc., and I immediately noticed a strange taste in the water. I thought maybe I just needed to run it for a while, but the taste never went away. I kept it in for several weeks but both the water and the ice tasted weird. I contacted the company & they assured me it was brand new and offered to refund my money. I returned it to them & got a prompt refund, which was great (they were very responsive & pleasant to deal with). Then I purchased the name-brand part & the water tasted normal again (after running about a gallon through). I'm going to stick to the name-brand original part from now on.
