It is not a shelf. It has no bottom. You can't tell from the ONE picture they provide. It does fit the bottom three shelves, but not the top one. I'll just save it if one of the other ones break. Meanwhile, I will order another one. At least it arrived in good condition and in a reasonable amount of time. I will order from them.

Although it says "Frigidaire", it's not a good fit. The arms on it are not an exact fit into the grooves.

Maytag MFX2571XEB

Maytag MFX2571XEBDO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING MADE BY MAYTAG

I bought this May 9th, it developed a problem in early June. There is no viable owner's manual. It took over a week of repeated phone calls to reach a person at Maytag 'customer service'. Now I am spending all of Saturday July 2 waiting for the Maytag repair man to come for my 'appointment between 8 am and 5 pm'.

UPDATE the repairman came, the control panel needs to be replaced and will cost $800 for the part alone. It will not be available for about a month, so yet another day shot waiting around for another 'sometime between 8am and 5pm appointment' and of course the frustrations of a weeks old semi functioning refrigerator.

CLRCO2175S-00 U-Line 2000 Series Undercounter Clear Icemaker & Refrigerator Right Hinge - Stainless

CLRCO2175S-00 U-Line 2000 Series Undercounter Clear Icemaker & Refrigerator Right Hinge - Stainless SteelJust what I was looking for, but these are expensive and break constantly. I bought one in 2006 after 3 years of it being broken more often than it worked and much complaining from me (this is a $4,000 tiny refrigerator!!), U-Line replaced it... And the replacement is even more of a lemon.

Product is awful and U-Line's service is even worse. We live in a major metropolitan area and I think U-Line has been through contracts with 8 local service companies duing that time the local people report they just cnt get the parts or the prduct support necessary.

I will never ever ever buy from them again and I urge you not to either!!!

Thermador : KBURT3655E Refrigerator

Thermador : KBURT3655E RefrigeratorInternal icemaker never worked. A technician came out FIVE! times in an attempt to fix it. Never did. The freezer barely works. The door if given a slight push unlike other refrigerators does not close by itself. Customer service is through Bosch terrible. They count the two year warranty not from the date you purchased it but from the date the store that sold you the unit got it from them...? ! They promised to look into the situation and call me back. Never did. I would not buy a Thermidor or a Bosch appliance based on this experience. Oh, and the bottom drawer rollout is problematic.

Supco RIM501 Replacement for Amana 1110702A and D7824706Q

Supco RIM501 Replacement for Amana 1110702A and D7824706QWith the exception thatthe wiring harness was about 1cm too short and I had to use the wiring harness from the old ice maker, this part worked perfectly the first time. My old ice maker was leaking and causing freeze buildup on the ice tray. Replaced with this part, and old wiring harness took about 15 minutes and a philips screw driver. Please note that you have to take the entire drawer of the freezer apart to conveniently get o the ice maker assembly, and it is critical to get the gears back inline with the notch on them for them to work perfectly. two thumbs up from me on this one.

Easy to install and has been working like a charm for a year now. I would certainly recommend purchasing this item.

Missed having ice cubes in our Amana. Fix great, had to use old connectors but...ice man cometh. My wife is happy.

This was the second replacement ice maker I've installed in this refrigerator. (Other than the ice maker, the refrigerator has worked great.) The first replacement I bought was an Amana from the dealer. It cost $116. You do the math.

I had trouble plugging in the wiring harness, but otherwise it was a simple installation. (Unlike other reviewers experiences, the wiring harness was a trifle too long and hung down below the unit.) After a day, it still wasn't producing ice. It could have simply been that it took an extra long time to cool down to operating temperature, but I decided to use the wiring harness from the unit I replaced. A few hours later it was pumping out ice.

This ice maker works better than the original. Periodically I have to shut it off because I have too much ice. Great performance at a cheaper price. Would that everything was this great of a deal.

TIP: I put the temperature control for the freezer unit between four and five. That seems to be the optimum for the ice maker. Cooler and it tends to freeze up. Warmer and it slows down.

I figure this unit will last two and a half to three years. Trays in ice makers used to be made of cast metal and would last the life of the refrigerator. Now the trays are made of plastic with some sort of coating which allows the ice to release easily. With the constant and heating and cooling the coating eventually breaks down. Prior to breaking down, you'll find bits of plastic in with your ice. The surface of the tray becomes pitted and will eventually be unable to release the ice. When you start seeing those plastic bits in with your ice, save yourself some time and buy a new replacement unit.

This was ordered as a replacement for an icemaker that has been trouble almost from the start. The only negative was that the wires that came with this replacement weren't quite as long as the ones with the old unit. Simply used the existing wires and the icemaker works now without leaking.

KitchenAid KBFS20EVWH Architect II Series Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Kitchen Aid 19.8 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator - KBFS20EVMSI really love this frig. I thought I'd hate the deli tray almost all the frigs seem to have them but it works out really well to hold containters of things (goat cheese, yogurt, etc) which I can see and pull out at a glance vs getting lost in the back on a rack.

The counter depth is great, but what distinguishes the Kitchenaid for me is the interior water dispenser. I don't like in-the-door water/ice dispensers because I think they're unattractive, and they take up so much room inside. Mostly I want water ice I can get from below easily and this saves so much room not needing to use my big brita. Am sold on counter depth now because I can see everything so much more easily the frig is wider and not as deep and that's perfect.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 (or 10) stars is because the stainless is high maintenance. Nothing seemed to clean it well so I researched it to death (and went through a number of stainless steel cleaners) and followed the recommendation of a lot of people to use Weisman spray cleaner with a microcloth. That works really really well but I wish the metals Kitchenaid uses would require less maintenance. I'm aware now and in the habit of keeping my hands off the doors as much as possible using just the handles but if I had a bunch of kids in the house it'd drive me batty.

I'd buy this frig again in a heartbeat. Love it!

I rarely expect products to be excellent anymore. My new criteria for excellence is when something is "OK". That is what this fridge is ...OK. Have had it for two years and is working fine. ergonomically however it is kinda dumb. THe water filter and controls are above the top shelf, and unfortunately cut into it quite a bit. If I place a gallon of milk on the top shelf it doesn't fit easily. If you move the shelf down then the lower shelves are too confined. I have manipulated the controls once since I purchased this, one you set the temp, why play with it? For this reason, I would have placed the control panel in the back..out of the way, and the filter as well. In an effort to be more convenient they have made it less so, but today that is par. It's OK.

Oh yeah...the bottom grill rattles

KitchenAid refrigerators are usually 50% more expensive than, say Kenmore. You would expect higher quality. But unfortunately I got the exact opposite. Mine broken down in less than 3 years. Two repair attempts cost over $500. Got a new compressor. My mom has a very old Hitachi ref, 10 years old still runs like new. I would never buy any KitchenAid products from now on.

We bought this fridge during a remodel project because we needed a counter depth unit and wanted a bottom freezer. It looks great and has convenient storage. Functionally, it has been trouble. After two months, food started freezing, and we had to toss out lots of produce. Two repair companies later we were told the thermistor was bad. After the repair the temp was too warm despite adjusting the control. Repaired again , but now food is freezing and it needs a new control unit. Despite calls and emails to Kitchenaid, we got no reimbursement for food loss not part of the warranty. That tells me they do not stand completely behind their product . The retailer that we purchased from has been great with repair service. I do NOT recommend Kitchenaid.

The condenser coils are located under the refrigerator. They radiate heat generated by the compressor as it chills the refrigerant than is circulated to cool the food.

Unfortunately, the condenser coils are hidden behind a fixed metal grate with only three small access slots. This means it is impossible to clean dust and pet hair off of the coils.

The short term implication is that the coils become insulated by the dust and hair, do not radiate heat as well, and require the refrigerator to run longer for the same amount of cooling. This runs up my electric bill.

The long term implication is that eventually the coils fail to radiate sufficient heat and, on an earlier (another brand) refrigerator, the compressor overheated and failed. This required replacing a 6 year old refrigerator.

I am furious at KitchenAid for selling such a design.

  • GE - PSDS5YGXSS

We bought this fridge when our previous GE Artica side by side failed (unrepairable) after 10 years. At the time I seriously considered going with a different brand, but the feature we have become addicted to is the custom-cool drawer. If you are not familiar with this feature, it's basically a drawer that will chill wine and beer to 37 degrees in 15 minutes. There is no other fridge on the market with this feature, and in fact GE seems to be abandoning this feature as well since this is one of two fridges that still have it.

The nice things about this fridge that we enjoy:

1) The custom cool drawer

2) The sealed beverage pocket in the door that keeps drinks extra cool

3) It's nice looking

4) Digital temperature controls and monitoring (in C/F)

The things we don't like:

1) It died 7 months after we bought it. We lost a fridge full of whole-foods items. It took me two days to get hold of a person who could schedule repair, and it will take 2 weeks to fix it. Requires some special parts. The repair person told us to expect to perform the same repair every 2 years because it's prone to failing in this humid climate (austin, tx). The part is some sort of heater that prevents the cooling distribution from icing up. So in summary, I bought a fridge that will break every 2 years as designed.

2) It's noisy, and I think this may have something to do with the icing up of the fans in the cool air distribution system. The fans sound like they are rubbing on something. It did this from the day we bought it (off and on).

3) The controls are aimlessly designed. In our old fridge, to turn on the custom cool drawer, you pressed a button once. In this new interface it takes 7 button presses. Home->options->refrigerator Options->Custom Cool->Express Chill->More time->OK. The person who designed this used engineering logic to organize the controls, they did not use any user interface design principles, and probably didn't test it with users.

Overall this would be a wonderful fridge if it didn't break down on us and ruin several hundreds of dollars of fresh food. If GE knows there are issues with the fridge, then it should be quick and easy to schedule an emergency appointment and that repair shop should have the parts in the truck. That would make it tolerable. Our current solution to this problem is to buy another fridge and place it in the garage as a backup fridge for when this happens again (and the GE repair man asserted that it would).

In Summary: Look elsewhere in you are in a humid climate.
